Same reason there’s no ascended Sinister backpack.
I just wish there was a way to turn off player FX.
Considering how long the handle is, it seems like a perfect length. It looks like a traditional Zweihander.
You’re not the first person I’ve seen today posting this. Hell you’re not even the 5th person I’ve seen posting this. I’m wondering if Anet didn’t raise the precursor chances just to be trolls, or maybe in HoT precursor chance from the MF will just be higher in general.
Lot of people falling for the bait in this thread.
The “it’s not that difficult” comment… have you ever tried to do it? Have you ever seen it done well in some game, namely one with this game’s level of graphics?
You’re acting like this game is something impressive to look at.
These things were added almost four months ago and are still in the gem store. Aren’t these dye kits supposed to be rotated out or only available for limited times?
Something I don’t see anyone mention when it comes to condition damage is Permeating Wrath. That’s the trait that makes Justice proc as an aoe. On groups or boss fights with multiple enemies the aoe procs every 3rd hit, which means you’re applying a burn every single attack in ideal cases, and it’s applied to every mob around you. While direct damage is decidedly better for single target right now, I feel like it’s worth noting that you can do some intense aoe condi damage with the right circumstances.
I’d say just find a warrior/ele who isn’t garbage and keep scholar.
I feel the need to point out that this skill is INSANE when you trait it now. When traited into meditations, this skill suddenly goes from a 2K heal that heals you for some of your damage, to a 3K heal that heals you for some of your damage, deals 1K+ damage on it’s own, grants 8 seconds of fury in aoe, AND removes a condition. This is one of the most bloated skills I’ve ever seen put in the game. Definitely a must have for any meditation users.
Edit: upon further inspection, because you technically activate two meditations with this skill, you actually get 8 seconds of fury.

This is quite possibly the most broken elite in the game. With 3 guardians you can have perma fury from just this, and with 5 guardians perma quickness. It’s like a mini time warp that’s up for every single fight, so the duration barely matters.
That said, I could not be happier with it on my bar and I hope it doesn’t get nerfed in 2 days.
When every player does 10k damage now, even 500 stacks of bleed from pure condition users would only add 75k dps. A pittance compared to 100 zerker players doing 10k dps now.
You’re ignoring the fact that conditions are not the ONLY damage a condi user will deal. They are still going to deal direct damage the same way a zerker does now, and if they’re using Sinister gear like most condi users should then it’s not going to be a hugely immense reduction in direct DPS when you’re just missing a little power and crit damage.
I created my 5 initial characters in haste at the head start to reserve my names, so all of them were just default characters with little adjustment. Since then, I’ve had to change every one of them and was forced to use makeover kits just to change a hair style i didn’t like or face i didn’t like etc. At this stage, there was no new faces/hairstyles only the default ones and i think it sucked I had to use kits to do so.
You weren’t forced to do anything. You could have just deleted and remade the characters. Since names are reserved to the account for several hours (IIRC 24) there was no problem with losing the names either.
Are you kidding? the last thing on my mind was to delete any of my chars. i couldn’t wait to get into the game and start exploring hehe. I created my own guild too had quite a few members back then so i had no time to think about that stuff. It was only later when i caught my breath that i thought about my chars looks and the fact i did very little customization when creating them.
And BTW i’m not saying i was forced, forced to do this. what i meant is if i wanted to change them i had no choice but to use the kits.
That’s not being forced though. You had the choice to not put yourself in that situation in the first place, and you could have fixed it for free after the fact. Anet did not lock your account until you gave them $5 to play again.
Ehm, no. We got enough sexyfied armor in the game already.
Too many female heavy armor has to glorify the womans body.
It`s something that is fun once in a while, but how about some more practical ones?
Without holes in the armor to show off legs, etc…
No idea what you’re talking about with heavy armor. There’s not NEARLY enough good looking heavy sets that aren’t just big bulky hulk armor. There’s exactly ONE pair of shoes for heavy gear that has high heels, and that’s the Phalanx set. I DEMAND MORE UNCOMFORTABLE FOOTWEAR!
Dragonhunter is fine.
Chapels are for funerals too.
New prestige system. Deletes your character but you get a nice little gravesite where you can go visit them. You might think you get something from prestiging like some kind of special bonuses on an alt, but no, you just get sadness as your old friend sits in their grave.
Considering your account name, I would expect that the katana greatsword skin would be your first choice. Outside of that, the armor sets are pretty nice, especially Phalanx for heavies and Phoenix for light classes.
So wait, how does that compare to bleeding exactly? Or is it the same now?
Applying real earth logic to an undead flying creature in a fantasy setting of a different universe.
Strong arguments there.
But there’s gravity in game just like in real life… and air and the Sun and all these things you know. So yeah why is gravity not working on Tequatl? Did he buy something from Trading Post that I didn’t?
You say this as if the player characters don’t already utilize impossible abilities. Many classes possess the ability to instantaneously teleport. That means that the character is either squishing the fabric of space time together for an instant, or is able to travel backwards in time and move to the new location before anyone can recognize that they are gone. Either of these would beg the question of how reality itself is even holding itself together when there are literally thousands of people ripping apart the time space continuum every hour of every day.
Even if you don’t want to buy the “it’s magic” argument that everyone in this thread is so fond of, it’s clear that the guild wars realm utilizes different rules for it’s reality, so it’s reasonable to assume that the laws of physics don’t work exactly the same either.
It’s actually quite normal to abbreviate locations with too many syllables. I’m pretty sure not a single person who lives in Pennsylvania actually calls it that. It’s just “PA.”
Between the hammer buffs and Healing Breeze becoming a shout, I feel like someone has to make a guardian named Triple H.

No idea what you’re talking about. Hammer guardian is going to be stronger than ever.
If you didnt noticed they are removing atributes from traits so you are losing 6k vitality if you are vitality heavy…so what..guardians will be running around with 12k hp? You are joking if you are thinking this are good changes. Some of trait changes are good yes it needed to be that way in the first place. Simbols are buffed but everything else sucks. You will be oneshotted by thieves and eles while they slam you with poisons weaknesses and all increased dmg crits etc.
You put more than 2 points into Honor? Why would you build that in PvE? I’ve only had 12K health for like a year now.
It really is kind of silly that you should have to walk away just to pick stuff up from the TP. You should be able to pick up anything you bought from the TP so long as you’re in a town, or at least it should be built into the crafting stations like the bank is.
Braham’s top and pants look pretty good if you don’t want a super armor-ey look. The boots are the crafted Gladiator ones btw.

I like this top because it looks kind of like a tank top, even though it’s made of metal, lol. Pants are Phalanx.

There are several old gw1 pranks that would be fun.
1) everyone turned into a mini pet
2) the stick figure model April fools prank
3) the inverted player/mini pet sizes(Forum is being stupid about multiple pictures, so I’ll just post one) >.>
M-Mako…? http://i.imgur.com/rPphL6X.gif
They could just make it so they automatically come off CD when you come out of combat, like with your health. While in combat they would function normally.
oh we knew it existed and quite frankly it was annoying. As for not all glitches needing fixed uh yea they do .
No they don’t z.z All it did was add a little bit of extra fun and sociability to the game, which GW2 is severely lacking in. If the glitch doesn’t harm the players in any way, then it’s not necessary to fix it. Especially if some of the playerbase ENJOYS the glitch. This wasn’t an exploit that could give you an advantage or something. All it did was make the game more fun. If you think that anything that’s not working as intended needs to be changed immediately, not only are you incredibly closed minded but you also have no idea what a REAL glitch is, that does need to be fixed.
You guys probably never even tried the weapon swap glitch. It was a lot of fun to do when you were just hanging out in LA or something. It didn’t have any effect on gameplay, and removing it only made the people who liked to use it sad. The people who didn’t use it probably didn’t even know it existed, so why would it even bother them?
Not all glitches need to be fixed. There are sometimes happy accidents.
If they added a penalty for making your team lose, wouldn’t that mean there would have to be a penalty for losing? Sure they wasted your time, but it’s not like you gotta pay tickets to get in anymore.
This just in from ArenaNet, from now on all character models are changed to male humans regardless of their original race or gender when they enter SPvP, because the devs wanted people’s characters to better reflect them in real life.
When the custom arenas come out will we be able to name them? Like what shows up when you look at the PvP server list.
If I may use a comparison to Team Fortress 2, there’s a lot of gaming clans on that game that host their own servers, in fact some make an entire business out of it via ad revenue. I’m not expecting you guys to allow ads, but it would add an extra layer of cool if you could set up custom descriptions and titles for your server. On TF2 it’s sort of a general rule that you can usually get pretty competitive play out of Lotus Clan servers, vs the server just being for screwing around and having fun. Or if you wanted your server to be exclusively for dueling, it would be really helpful if you could post a message of the day up whenever someone joins the room to make sure they know the rules.
A guild could even use it to advertise themselves. Like say that if you enjoy the people pvping here and want to play with them more, ask for a guild invite or something. It would be a great way to get more of a PvP community than “oh I run into those guys in tournaments a lot.”

You get a 3 second stun with the heal book elite I think. Should be on the 4 skill.
This made me think of TF2. Then I thought that TF2’s overheal idea would be kinda cool. If you’re at max health and a buddy heals you, you could get a temporary bonus of like 20% extra health or something and it would slowly drain if you’re not continuing to be healed.
Another thing I don’t think anyone mentioned, there’s a couple of traits that any guardian planning on doing DPS should have, and those are Fiery Wrath (10 into Zeal), and Radiant Power (25 into Radiance.) Combined these traits make you deal a whopping 20% extra damage to any enemy that’s on fire, and even if they’re not on fire you do 10% more to them when they just have any given condition on them. Going this far into Radiance will also give you Renewed Justice by default, which will bring Justice off CD once a mob dies, so combine this with Inspired Virtue just running around solo killing stuff can go SO much faster. Run up to mob, pop Justice, you blind the mob, gain 3 stacks of Might, deal 20% extra damage to the target, kill it fast, then when it dies you have Justice back and can do it all over again. And THEN, if you grab the Radiance trait that makes you apply Vulnerability when you blind someone, that Justice will also add that on top so you’re doing 21% extra damage in total along with the additional burn damage.
And then it’s great in groups too, since burning stacks in duration you can put Justice on your whole group, so it’ll last a whole lot longer on a boss. If you just keep Justice on CD the whole time you won’t get very much burn time out with the 5 hit proc. To take full advantage of the 20% extra damage traits the mob needs to be constantly burned, and using Justice is usually a great way to do that.
