This is exactly why I would love to have a damage counter. Since beta I have wondered whether my struggle at melee brings more to the group than just being ranged.
But yes I agree. Some bosses one of the strongest attacks are melee ones. I have died so many times to powersuit because I always forgot that its melee attack hits behind too.
Can open PvE even have good rewards? It is easy and accessible to everyone which means everyone will get more gold which means prices will rise (which is of course what we want because vendor costs won’t scale).
Harder content should be more rewarding because it is actually harder.
Well, you could try just walking to Lupicus.
Only bug is that WP even exists.
Simple timer results:
~10 s to refill one dodge.
~6.7 s with Stamina.
~5 s with Vigor.
~5 s with Vigor and Stamina.

Just wondering, have you tested that Vigor stacks with Signet of Stamina? I tested it while ago and Vigor effect just seemed to override Stamina.
Truth is everyone can’t make loads of money. If you want be rich someone else must be poor.
If there is an easy way to make money everyone will be “rich” and nothing has changed.
If you want get gold play market or try to figure out your own farming method.

Mesmers can always shatter before infection. Just saying.
Yeah you are perfectly fine until you get hit by agony. Sure not that hard when you attack from 1200-1500 range.
I don’t really get you guys. Why should you get best rewards for something which you can easily solo?
Few times I have done P1 we have always murdered NPC in the fire-dart room before boss. (And Korga can be skipped, too).
After spending huge amount of my in-game wealth to acquire a backpiece (yay RNG rings) I would hate to see it get much easier to get. That would just scream that they have no idea what they are doing with their game.
And I thought we had in-game exploit reporting system and an email with similar purpose.
Tested full melee on Lupicus (2-man) and worked fine, even on phase 2. Though my friend had pretty much full focus on phase 3.
With glass-cannon GS warrior you pretty much mow down hatchlings faster than breeder spawns.
I just want to do hard PvE. And not grind 20-30 levels for it.
I have heard about this thing called skill-based progression.
If you jump over barricade in Ascalon do you still get NPC support?
I run 20, 25, 0, 0, 15 for GS DPS and fast hands. Then those last 10 points to something which feels nice.

I don’t think we had very special team and it was so easy. So I’m wondering whether sub-par teams could do it with right tactic.
I’m not very experienced with Simin and have ran P4 ~5 times. This last run was first time when I had more or less solid plan on my mind and the team actually executed it properly.
Usually you just get people who can’t use tears, die all the time, etc.

Killing NPC in fireball-room seems to work wonders.
That “exploit” in Dredge is funny one. Much faster and easier just to do it normally.
If people want to use it I just wait at gates and let them open.
It is not really players fault but devs.
Thanks for the input. Still, it makes a specific team setup required to kill her – you need at least one mesmer in your party, as AoE quickness is essential. Of course, it’s useful everywhere, you can mow down any boss with relative ease using Time Warp and enough dps, and so on – but no fight requires any gimmicky, specific setup like 3 gs wars or Time-Warp-on-cooldown.
This is what makes me believe we’re missing something – either we, players, omit a part of the puzzle here, or a piece is simply missing from the box…
Last time our team had 2 GS warriors (I was one running sparks), ele (ran sparks), necro and guardian. And it was so ridiculously easy.
Though some similar teams have been so slow. But players have been crap too.
The whole point of pug is to get your party killed while you solo. And what achieves this better than Kohler?
I don’t understand why there is need to tank stuff. So that everyone else can auto-attack from range while browsing forums?
GS is a good PvE weapon, even in dungeons.
Not anything which I would know.
Last time we started with usual 4-1 tactic. Then we repeated that tactic at about 25% because one Spark went out of control. We probably had quite good DPS so anything should have worked.

With leap (at least Warriors) you can get there from Path 1.
It’s quite boring place, not missing much.

Should also kick every one who uses ranged on melee-favoured encounters. Simply slowing everyone down.
Just because he is asking for a change doesn’t mean he is bad.
Those scavengers are awful for melee players because of them turning around and because of effect being much bigger than the animation.
If they couldn’t turn around while “eating” and area was smaller it would still have same “dodge or bring stun-break” effect. On top if this they shouldn’t keep eating ground if there is no one around but use leap more often.
Somehow magically I can still solo it using leaps to skip barriers.
Of course it’s not that simple.
Yeah then I can’t solo, aww.
But anyways, I wish they would make all paths about same difficulty/length or tweak rewards.

Leap/Glitch to skip barriers.
??
Profit.
??
Profit.

Reminds me of Lupicus infection. About every 15 seconds it does obvious 3 second animation and some/most people don’t see it.

I have never seen it just reset. Only when people get invisible, all out of range or someone runs out of arena (this seems bit random).
IIRC, Precision is only better than Power with very very high Critical Damage (like criticals doing 2,2 times as much damage).
I just hate looting a boss/champion and seeing copper coin-icon.
Yeah it sucks. And I hate when auto-attack interrupts dodge.
Probably resets if everyone tries to out-range AoE.
Tested against heavy golem:
autoattack: 127 seconds, 128 seconds
spam: 117 seconds, 117 secondsWho needs math?
Well since those numbers make no sense to me I need math apparently. Was that time it took to kill it?
Yep
Just duoed path 3, again. Feel free to whisper if you have issues with Lupi.
phase 1: dodge infection
phase 2: side-step single bolts, dodge everything else
phase 3: dodge
If you are Warrior I suggest Greatsword (extra dodge + great for phase 1) and rifle. Endure Pain + Signet of Stamina.
If you can’t handle your build then better use something to cover up your mistakes.
Tanking really sounds as if you wanted to take damage.
Tested against heavy golem:
autoattack: 127 seconds, 128 seconds
spam: 117 seconds, 117 seconds
Who needs math?
Yeah, works fine when on good group. Good luck surviving without any resist with bad people.
While doable is still doesn’t make RNG less stupid.
Are you just trying to say that PvE is way too easy?
Let’s say Lupicus. I have extremely hard time soloing phase 2, and phase 3 is simply no way. At least Eles seem to have it much easier, not 100% sure about rest (summons to take aggro, etc.)

I think it is supposed to have some benefits. But really. running around exploring is the worst WvW experience you can get. That’s quite interesting way to get people interested.
Stuff like WvW dailies. Bah, not fun!
