did i say they die easy no.. if you want me to follow up ill do that.. my problem is i used the great sword i got karma gear and everything based off of doing dps with retaliation up.. well retaliation got nerfed so did my dps.. big time.. i dont feel like grinding out more karma gear to sit there with a mace/shield and hammer and be a meat shield thats not what i intented on at first and thats definitly not why i wasted what 42k karma per piece so 210000karma for 5 pieces.. na im good ill go play something that is allowed to dps at range and melee if you want to be a meat shield go for it.

I just say split it dont nerf pve i dont even play my guardian now cause of the nerfs to pve and the gear i went for im not about to spend all my time farming more karma for the gear to become useless again cause of something in pvp… i dont mind learning 2 seperate skill trees and specing for each thats one reason why you can respec for free in spvp anyways right? so what just change what the traits say when your in the mists and in the world it wont bother me one bit. what does bother me is nerfing something to where my build becomes useless and all the gear i have obtained becomes useless..

the only thing i might change about it is make the zones charge lvl appropriate of course orr being the highest and 1-15 zones being the lowest that way you pay no more then what your friend does but in the end there is no monthly fee so they off set that with money sinks and you may not buy money from the gem store but others do cause of such money sinks an they just dont want to take the time farming money or playing the tp but need a way to fill the money sinks either way its good that its there but like i said if your paying the same as those lvl toons i could understand that and that would help you help your friends i guess but i spent 6silver just to escort one of my guildies threw the straits so he could make it to the zerg and didnt think twice of it cause in reality 6silver isnt nothing

yea so i lvled a 80 ranger first was boring lol short bow auto attack… lol and next i lvled up a 80 guardian its fun but they nerfed it for pvp which made me not want to play it in pve cause mace shield wasnt fun but gs nerf on retaliation killed alot of dps sooo now im lvling a warrior haha i want to sword and board.. but i agree if you want something that will be more of a challeneg ie die faster.. ele thief mesmer lol

lol yea i rerolled warrior the only thing i do with my guardian is use thier run speed and heal ability to farm ori in the zones lol thats all they are good for now..

I totally agree they should seperate pvp and pve skills.. split them up like they did this one.. quit nerfing pve cause pvp is over powered.. you cant fix something for one and not break it for the other.. WOW did the same thing thats why there is always a flavor of the patch who is OP cause they needed more dps in pve… anyways its smart make a pvp toon and make a pve toon or if you want to do both on one learn to play the class differently in spvp…

lol OP who QQ’s on every thread usually about thiefs go figure prolly one of the top pvp proffessions in the game… anyways yea guardian and ranger need to be fixed before warrior.. anyhow on my warrior i hardly use any of these skills anyways so dosnt really matter to me.. sword an board is where its at

it all goes to the same collections wich can be managed by any toon on the account.. make a alt farm with ur main if you dont want to lvl the alt up to farm craft your stuff bank it pull it out on the main.. its not that big of a deal and easy way around the 40s fee

I personally like the sword/warhorn good boost in speed and awesome stuff for doing dmg lots of bleeds combo it with the rifle wich also bleeds its a good set up for melee and range fights just stack that condition and if your doing a dungeon just throw a shield on in place of the warhorn for the added def skills although warhorn is nice to have but if you get agro that 3sec block will save your rear

Lightrayne well said, you should be a writer your good. thanks for the advise guys im glad to see there isnt a “one” to play. guess ill keep doing what i do i use the same skills you mentioned except whirlwind i think thats duel axes i like my horn for birds and fury buffs mixed with weapon swap quickness and quickness skill its amazing anyhow thanks everyone

yea i run short bow and axe/horn combo of course i run off of crits and bleeds with that combo so i feel i do good dps was just wondering if i was missing something or if there was like a one be all class people are playing with lol

sometimes gives you a “Lidless Eye” and sometimes a “Wall of the Mists”?

so heres what i did for the last 10 points picked 2 gems i had 3 of made the rare recipies then discovered the 2 i think i made rings or something? lol forgot exactly what i made cause i just TP’ed it anyhow it will get you to 400 i actually dont even think i needed to discvover the last one but i already had everything to do it so did it anyways but good luck its not so bad the hard part is making the exotics and getting lucky with the orbs you want i got 2 made so far only need 15more saphires lol oh and use stones that you dont plan on using exotics that way you can convert the ones you do plan on doing into orbs

Im using Mel’s karma set and Saphire jewlery for my healing power
then Mace/Shield and Sword/Focus
Then im using all shouts for Boons to proc Altuistic healing
the mace shield combo gives I think 8 boons alone
i switch to sword focus cause number 4 focus is amazing and sword is great to throw in some quick dps when mace shield are on cooldowns
Lots of boons go out so lots of healing goes on and with all the toughness and vitality from the gear you can hold your own for a wile
Its not great dps its mediocor but its amazing support with boons and heals

So im at about 380 I think and it seems from 380 to 400 its going to take a ton of mats and just making the same stuff over and over or am i missing something that could help me get up there faster? when i hit 375 i noticed nothing new showed up its jsut discovering stuff and using all of my gems for duplicating things as i have already discovered them. is this the fastest way to 400 or did i miss something?

Hes broken now when you get his stacks to 0 they bounce right back up to 33 an he turns everyone to critters we got 50 people on him and cant kill him cant even get him past 50%

its a conspiracy to cover up the fact that the game is to easy and people are finishing way to fast and sure they made a mmo that you can finish in 1 month so this is thier fix to stop “botters” but they wont just come out and say hey we made the game to easy now its time to slow yall down

I hit DR yesterday in 35mins farming DE’s.. please some players its not hard at all to hit… anyways I have no idea how to offer suggestions to make it better sense im not 100%sure what makes it kick in and why its kicking in yall seem to lack comunication but want us to post “ideas” for fixes… guess its a need to know basis and we dont need to know?

i get dr from going to the straits i do gren/arch mage/ lyssa/giant/chopper/mel/aco and repeat its a huge circle and eventually it causes me to go into dr mode.. sure i could go some where else but i work smart not hard if somethings working and its efficient im doing it its not efficient to use way points to travel all over just cause im in DR it eats money and quick

i got it!!! make 2 80s and jump in the straits and just rotate grind then boom 2 toons with lots of karma….

When I hit the DR for the first time I was in no way farming dynamic events. In fact I was exploring the map of Blazeridge Steppes, getting all the POI, Vistas and such. All I did was do each event once when I was nearby.

What I don’t understand with the system is how are players supposed to use DE’s to level to 80? This feels a bit like a penalty to level, let alone gain karma etc.

I’ve leveled to 80, played more than 200 hours, gotten 100% on more than half the zones in the game, along with discovering every nook and cranny, doing every event more than once, and doing all the puzzles. I even talk to most of the NPCs. I have around 10 gold, several exotics including a level 80 exotic weapon, about 60k karma, and I’ve horded a massive amount of crafting materials (overflowed my collections tab with multiple items).

Never, at any point in all of that, have I been affected at all by the DR system. Including my time in the Orr zones over the last week…repeating events and exploring. How do you explain that? What I see happening on these boards…people getting worked up like crazy over hyperbole and a few unsubstantiated anecdotes and screenshots with no context, and nobody making any attempt to provide real proof, makes me very skeptical about the whole thing.

Also, like I mentioned above, I see the DR system as being a very positive and necessary thing for the game. I don’t think it is the evil beast that people are trying to make it out to be, and I don’t think it affects players unless 1) there’s a bug, or 2) they are playing clearly outside what the developers intended.

I have 50 mystic clovers, 100% world map complete, a majority of my 250 stacks of T6 mats, my gift of energy, gift of color (minus arah tokens), my fully decked out exotic gears, and a nice set of TA dungeon gear. I haven’t hit the Karma DR whilst gathering any of that prior to the patch a few days ago. Loot DR? Sure, because you hit it in Orr if you can do anything effectively or decide to participate in chain events. The system is punishing to legitimate play, there’s nothing weird about these scenarios. Unless they seriously expect us to play with major breaks in between of a given hour.

The burden of proof lays on the person who makes the claim (Anti-DR folks) – I provided some proof with some shoddy screenshots as I just took them as a wow, look at this. However, with some approach to detail here, we can probably gather more reliable details on what causes it, why it happens, etc. Once we have that solid data, it can become a discussion of if it appropriate or not. I’m leaning towards not though, just because it is currently affecting legitimate players.

The fact that this game has only been live for five weeks, and you are already more than 50% to a legendary item proves that ArenaNet’s anti-farming system is not strict enough. Legendary weapons should be the accomplishment of a GAMETIME, not something you crank out in two months.

So once you get your legendary weapon, what do you plan on doing? Your only focus in the game has been farming, so what will you do when the farming is complete? Are you just not going to have any more fun, and quit playing?

This right here is the mindset that ANET is trying to defeat. Fun comes before farming, and if the only fun you get in MMOs is earning that new item with that different-color name – then you’re playing the wrong game.

You realize that all you are getting for all this effort and all this crying is a few more stat-points, and an item-model that will tell everyone in WvWvW to kill you first.

Meanwhile there are people like me:

• Still haven’t run every wing of each dungeon.
• 0% towards any legendary weapon.
• Only have one piece of karma exotic.

BUT…

• having a blast.

Please stop trying to make a job out of our video game, just because you don’t know anything but work.

I personally plan on taking all that stuff i farmed for and owning in WVW after i get it thats the point of farming it…

well i spoke my opinion about the DR problem and the post got deleted cause well its true.. anyways pandas might be fun after all good luck im not going to play a game that dosnt let me play it.

We dont have a lack of ranged weapons.. i personally dont want a bow or gun.. im saying fix our ranged weapon in so it is viable in pvp “scepter”

look its fine if they dont want to give us a ranged roll i wouldnt care if we had a decent snare or root…. to keep “ranged” classes from kiting us all day long. it would just be easier to fixed our “ranged” weapon then add new skills for rooting for pvp cause it would only be a pvp ability and the “ranged” weapon could be for both pvp an pve

yea i understand that guardians have other roles as well i totally understand that but sitting at a gate keep pounding on a door is lame.. sure i could sit back in the back with my staff and my thumb up my butt healing everyone sure but i dont get rewarded for doing that.. yea i could pull out my greatsword and go beat on the gate keep door but some how i get shot threw the door by aoes from the enemys i could see if they were above me shooting down but theres a freaking door there why am i getting shot threw it.. so if i want to kill anything i have to sit in the back out of the way of the door shooting and throw my slow balls at enemys on the top or throw them at the door which in its self is almost pointless cause hiting the door for what 40dmg is lame…

So yea a couple skills were needed to be nerfed retaliation 100% is stupid i agree.. putting up a wall for 8seconds when tool tip said 5seconds anyway not that big of a deal.. what ever we will work with what we got right… no freakin range buffs???? what are they smoking can they not see our slow balls dont work in pvp people hide behind the walls after they see them coming from miles away… its like a dodge that they dont even have to dodge cause it moves so slow…. BUFF our range if your going to nerf us plz its only a fair trade off…. anyways how do yall feel?

What the hell happened? every freakin zone i try to clear has a bugged skill point my ranger made it to 80 without no bugged maps i got 100% completion now on my guardian i cant complete one freakin map cause there are skill points bugged its really annoying…… it seems its taking way to long to fix these considering they were working properly at one point hell by the time they get fixed ill prolly be 80 an not benefit from completeing them anyways but seriously and all these bots whats up with that? ban em i keep reporting them and still seeing the same ones comon jump on it or ill go play another game that dosnt allow cheaters…..

i feel like ranger would be one of the faster moving toons but honestly when im runing in a group of people i have a hard hard time keeping up even with the horn just seems everyone else has more movement bonuses or faster ones something.

A COD in mail system would be beautiful. Or a trade system cause honestly all the scammers in these games you know they aint going to live up to their word trusting in mail.

I disagree it could be used wrong. People could gang up on people and have them muted when they did nothing wrong. I understand where your coming from cause trust me i get annoyed but its giving a “bully guild” or what ever to much power if enuff of them block.

way points cost way to much i would use a mount over way point prices its stupid pay 2.5 silver to go craft then pay 2.5s to go back then pay 2s to go to a event to help people out cause its across the map. those way points are crazy expensive

Would it be possible to put in a way to save armor sets say like all your magic find gear then with the push of a button switch it back to your dps gear obviously out of combat only. Nothing more annoying then being in a group and killing “trash” with magic find on then saying hold up lemme switch gear an not being able to do it quickly before a boss fight. Cause you dont need the magic find gear on dosnt help with chests anyways. An of course you know when your in a rush and you accidently equip the wrong item cause you been looting so much on your way. Anyhow not dire just a suggestion. Love the game its freaking awesome BTW!

heres what ya do magic find load it up go back to the smaller zones. farm your mats humanoids for cloth stuff for the most part. enjoy it works i had to do it to catch my leatherworking up.

yea i noticed it in asura story line on the first toon i had made it to lvl 15 or so i re rolled didnt wanna listen to the guy asking if his lover guy was ok anymore.

So i read so much about comparing it to other games.. I for one hated 30-45min arena matches in wow.. this is much more fast paced i love it my times not wasted i can either win and move on or lose and move on. either way im moving on im not stuck. who cares if there is buggs or unbalances obviously you never played the “be all on game wow”when it released… it didnt even work for 2 freakin weeks and when it did shamans were the thiefs chill out give it time they will fix stuff.. this game isnt dyeing they are actually working on stuff and servers and people are spreading out if your refering to que times being shorter.. its cause what they are doing is actually working. anyways have fun cheer up lifes funner that way.
