@Daphoenix, I’ve realized that you rarely use the EA dodge roll into the fire fields for those extra Might, do you think it’s a mistake doing that a lot (usualy I do it every fire field I land). Sometimes you also change to water just for chilling the enemy, you do that because you’re full/almost full HP and know there’s noone else coming?
… Do players who spend more time in game have more wealth because they play more, or are they more efficient because they’re really good at the game or both.
I think we can certainly say that! 500- /age time I didn’t knew how to make money but farming raw materials. Now I cansay that I’m not only good at doing some farms, but that I won’t do some farming methods because they yield not as much as others.

It might not be the driver itself, but the problem is DEFINITELY driver related since the problem get’s better/worse as I changed the driver for my old GC. And the fact that I didn’t had the problem after changing the power supply but got it 3 times in 1 hour of gameplay after updating the GC Driver proves it is related to it.
Going for the previous driver didn’t worked out, something changed with the driver update and I don’t know what. Squall, how do you sugest for a “clean” instal of 13.1 driver? Nvidia has a clean option when instaling, but Catalyst doesn’t.
So I finaly got the new power supply and the problem seemed to had been a bad distant memory (had been trying to reproduce the crash all this time), but today I’ve got a update for the Catalyst driver from 12.1 to 13.1 and, well, the problem came back!!
So I’ll revert the driver to the previous version and…. I’ll come back to add any relevant information.
I didn’t played engineer yet (will probably do it last for the 8 classes), but I’ve fought many in sPvP and grouped with as many for almost all the dungeons. I can assure you that Engineer’s can survive better than an Elementalist if he needs to(probably there’s a specific build for holding points in sPvP), they have tons of CC’s AND varied utilities (running, supporting, etc), BUT they don’t have AoE’s as we do and their skills effects aren’t awesome as ours =D.
But in terms of dmg/survivability/support they can do as good as Elementalists, just …. a little bit different.
@Notsure. Yes, the Fiery GS is AWESOME! I love to use it in low lv areas just for fun and stuff. Then some dudes think I’m an warrior (since I’m using a kitten set combination – and I’m a Norn xD) and BAM!! Elementalist here dude! HAHAHAH It’s fun, just showing off though xD. Anyway, I particulary don’t use the F GS in PvE or PvP since I like to play agressively so I agro everything, pull them for a hot spot, my party starts to nuke while I take a short break to heal and come flaming back to do my drills mighty combos! I find it realy fun, try doing that in the Charr Fractal (Urban Battlegrounds Fractal) lv 18+ and see how fast you go down if you don’t do it right hehe, but you can’t do that with F GS =(.
@Orikx. Yea, I saw about that fix and thought about it, since I’m not squishy at all and, hell, Full HP + one dodge while changing to water + watter attuning + Water 5 + Water 2 + one dodge still in water + regen are a LOT of healing (usualy enough to get my kitten up full HP after loosing 90% health to agony) and he still killed me! …. Well, after that I DID created a mesmer! HAHAHAHAHAH I’m playing it a little bit, getting to know the skills and it’s effects first, then I’ll look at the shatter build and stuff. But thankyou very much for the response! It has a lot of information I can pay attention while in the battle field for predicting my enemies movement.
And about the LoS…. I’m still having trouble with that! Certanly one of the main reasons why Daphoenix rocks so hard those dudes in WvW !!! =D
@Daphoenix. What about making one or a collection of videos about moves going wrong? You probably have lot’s of them =P, like a Fail Compilation, just for fun =D

In fact I would say just the oposite. Staff’s Elementalists have that classic feeling (boring…) for mages, while D/D get’s all the fun…. So yea, I only use Staff when I need to =D

I’m curently waiting for my new power supply to arrive, I’m out of ideas for testing the computer on, but if anyone have a crazy/stupid/NOTdangerous ideia, give it to me that I’ll try….

PS: The missconection between the MB and the GC wasn’t the problem, it seems that it can make it better or worse for some reason, my friend’s guessing that there might be 2 different problems causing the same freezing stuff, and one of them was the GC-MB conection. But no way to prove that…

GW2 has issues with 32bits windows with more than 4GB RAM. Refer to the FAQ for further informations.
So, guess what, the problem is back! Annnnd is not my monitor after all, I used my brother monitor again and it gave the same problem, this time in Snowblind Fractal. Couldn’t pass through it, and I’ve got it every single time ¬¬.
A friend of mine said that it could be a problem of conection between the graphic card and the motherboard, since he got the same problem other day (he was helping me with this, so he knows what it is xD) and that was the problem.
I’ll keep the tests and….. If I get any information I’ll come back to add.

Try turning the “Melee Attack Assist” on, maybe it can solve that.
@Notsure, while you’re wielding the flame GS you can’t use your regular skills, which means you’re locked from your CC’s, Conditions, Heals, Fields and Combos. The Glyph of elementals, instead, makes a good dmg with fire elemental, or a great beating earth bag with earth elemental while you still do your regular dmg and support.
@Orikx, I definitily saw an Chaos Storm and there was a lot of confusion too, that’s what messed me up, maybe I even killed myself and didn’t realise… Probably the second scenario. I need to find a good mesmer to practice in sPvP. No problems against regular Mesmers, but that one gave me a huge beating XD. Since you’re an experienced Mesmer, what do you say that are the weakeness of that kind of build? Illusuonary Leap and Blurred Frenzy have 12s and 10s cool down, which isn’t even close to our full combo of Fire+Earth with 30~40s cooldown (and he probably won’t wait for it anyway). What kind of atribute that build uses? Toughness and Vitality too? What would you recomend other then dodging the runing ilusions? And not being imobilized.
It’s not about if I like it or not, it’s about the ‘short term’ stuff being as long as the ‘long term’ stuff.
But since you started the subject, one of the things that I liked about GW1 PvP is that it was SHORT, If I had 30min to play I could PvP without worries, had plenty of options, if I had 1h+ I could play AB. But this capture matches, unless one of the teams are owning, they usualy last about 10min each. I don’t know about you and the others, but I’m not in school anymore, I can’t spend a hole afternoon playing or even get a couple of hours straight. So here’s another sugestion: Random Arena FTW

No, I just exchanged the hole monitor and cable for my brother’s monitor and cable. Game didn’t crashed her or there, so I took back the monitor and cable and no crashes here now ^^ (no, his computer isn’t some kind of debugger xD).

They have different frequencies, but my motherborad makes them all 1.333mhz. They were not the problem, I’m still using those 4 RAM pens.

Alright guys, after many, many and many weeks with this problem (yea, since launch…) I’ve been FINALY able to solve it out! So may the Raven watch over this post for every single soul that comes to find itself in the same problem.
It ended up being my monitor ! For the craziest ideia I had, I was stuburn about the graphic stuff so I started to change every single piece possible in my computer to find it out…. Monitor and sound speakers for last. When I changed my monitor the bug disapeared…. Tried to reproduce the bug in the computer I placed it, but I was unable to… Replaced the monitor back in my computer, no more freezing…. I realy have NO IDEIA what it was, I supose it could be a cable slightly disconecting from the monitor (since I placed and replaced the GC end many times), but no way to say it!
I’ve successefully made 5 FotM’s, no LA crashes, no PvP crashes, no WvW crashes, seems normal now!
Thankyou for all the help and the ideas for solving this ^^. If I ever get that again, I shall be back =P (hopefully, no more! XD)

Alright, today is…. hmmmm January 2? Great! I’m only missing the wins (3 tournament and 5 normal) for the monthly PvP achievement!! And I’m not a regular PvP player, I liked AB and RA in GW1, but not too fan of this capture stuff now, so I just make my DAILY PvP and I’m ‘this bit’ far from the monthly completion!! Or the monthly is too fast or the daily is too long (and I suppose it’s the second case!).
Suggestion: Take down the Daily PvP Achievement from 3 matches to 1 match only.
It will make it faster and 1 match is enough to take 1 top, 5 kills and 3 points (these are just fine as they are).

I’ve fought a Lv 45 Mesmer in sPvP yesterday…. He was a realy hard opponent! I Kept throwing a lot of conditions on me AND a huge spike of direct dmg, couldn’t keep the healing or even dmg him equaly… I realy don’t know about mesmers, but in your experience you probably have come across this kind of build, since it seems pretty good build, what would you suggest?
Oh yea, by the way, is there any program that can read the RAM temperature?
Hey there guys, I thought about the RAM too, so I run some tests with it today, the Memtest86 didn’t accused any failures, tried to play the game with only one pair at time, and tried every slot with them, didn’t worked.
I’ll try to get a friends PS to test this variable, the one I bought will take some time to arrive. Any other ideas I could try? Any program to stress the motherboard?
Alright, I updated the Direct X using the [DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer] I’ll run some tests again… I was able to download Prime95, OCCT and FurMark. Runned the first 2 for one hour (I didn’t changed the configurations of the test), but since FurMark warned me about forcing my Power Supply I had to avoid this, since my PS will burn if I take more than 80% of it (tests ran by Clube do Hardware → http://www.clubedohardware.com.br/artigos/Teste-da-Fonte-de-Alimentacao-Huntkey-V-Power-550-W/1703/7).
I know, one hour stressing my CPU isn’t near enough, but since the freezing problem can occur in 5min of gameplay, I’m quite sure that this isn’t the problem (by the way, this Prime95 made my CPU get at 51ºC ! Very interesting program…).
Ran the chkdsk and no problems found.
I’ll try to freeze the computer again. Should be back in no more than 2 days. (luckily it was Direct X problem…)
Ok, first I thought it was my Graphic Card, since the problem used to get better/worse as I changed the driver, so I bought a new GC and the problem still here. Formatted computer, using the last driver available, installed ONLY GW2 (and the graphic driver) but the problem persists. It isn’t overheating, I monitored everything GC don’t get more then 59ºC and CPU 45ºC.
Problem: The hole computer freezes while playing GW2 so I’ve got to reset the power manualy, most common to happen in Lion’s Arch and Fractals of the Mists (Urban Battlegrounds Fractal almost everytime). Since the Power Supply upgrade (like a month ago) and the 13.1 GC driver it occurs randomly in any part of the game, from 5 to 30min after started playing. Some times I can play for 2 to 3 days without getting the bug, but then it comes back.
Currently I’m running only GW2 and the OS system trying to find something that indicates the problem (msconfig -> Service -> hide all microft -> desactivate all) Obs: activating the AMD stuff doesn’t change the problem.

It only occurs with GW2, but since it’s the only thing I play in the computer after GW1 or some League of Legends (that I dropped once GW2 launched) I can’t give a comparison.
Any ideas? I don’t know how to do Over Clock, so If my motherboards does it automatically let me know. (first thing everyone asks me about, but everything is on default)

Did you recently removed your RAM’s for cleaning? I got this blue screen problem after a regular clean up in the computer. Try removing them and replacing. And check if your mother board has a button for reseting the RAM.
@lagrangeify, simply because it’s kittening HARD to play this properly, this isn’t a build for everyone. Sticky posts are for general use builds.
Yea, a weapon swap for OUT of combat would be such a great adding to the game! I’m already tired of having to click “H” to just give a swiftness buff to my party… Since it’s out of combat, I don’t see how it could break the game balance. It certainly would coop with the “play and not get ready to play” mentality of Arena Net.
Are you in the same server as them? Because every server has an exclusive version of the Guild for it own.
If you’re trying to DROP wool, you’ll die trying. You have to SALVAGE light armor of the proper lv to get the apropriate lv crafting scrap.

And…. Well, if I put my Berserker Draconic Armor (crafted, never equiped, can be sold at BL) everything (Mystic Coins, Crystals, Philosofer’s, etc…) grey’s out….. What kind of ‘compatibility’ is this?
The’re are Draconic Boxes to sell at BL, so I suppose it’s a bug where just a few can make it?

Again, no. Still lot’s of high places in regular PvE just waiting to kill you for a wrong dodge or something like that. If it is usefull in a combat situation, that’s a hole another story, but I could see someone trying something crazy with that fall area field….
Don’t forget you can use Arcane Blast to Blast Combo any field, if you so desire.

@morphemass, I see your point now…. So you believe that Lodestone Promotion is the best way to make cash from the skill points? Even with the Bottle of Elonian Wine price? I was looking at the Charged Lodestone price, 2 Charged Cores (2,4g)+Elonian Wine = 2,65g. If we sell CL at 3,15g (current lower price) we’ll have a 2,67g income (after taxes), 2s profit. That happens with all Lodestone/Cores.
Did you used T5→T6 Material Promotion for you calculus?

@Dee Jay, some legendaries are missing effects, not only the Dreamer. They’ll be patching them sometime, keep your legendary and let’s hope that the effects come soon enough!

@Ursan all of those are ‘one item with Mystic Forge’. What I made not clear, aparently, is that other than producing some kind of weapon to sell or making upgraded materials/clover leaf (or upgrading siege stuff, but that’s a very particular case, imo) there are no use for Skill Points for something like it was in GW1, a consumable, as far as I know, offcourse.
@morphemass, Don’t you think that this method can lead to an irrelevance in the value due to the diference between the buying/selling order than just the SP itself?
This is what I don’t get: why would someone buy something from the Black Lion that he can craft himself using skill points + materials/precursors/whatever which he can also buy in the Black Lion. If people are doing this is because they have a use for their own SP, so they probably have a ‘value’ in gold for them. I’m starting to think that Ursan has a point there, when he says that people have more gold than skill points o.O (which is definitly not my case XD), so they’re just willing to pay more… AND here’s the point: How much would they be willing to pay for other’s skill point.

Hey budy, nice PvP out there! Never tried that hammer on it, don’t you think it’s a waste of utility (like mist form) for just using one skill of the hammer?

@Ursan, yea it makes sense… But still, Skill Points seems to have a use when you want to craft one item with Mystic Forge, but overall there’s no use to it, like a consumable in GW1. Or is there?
You know… It was called MAD king clocktower for one reason… And hopefuly no, they wont! This isn’t a instancied world, so the Jumping Puzzles should not be instancied as well.
Tallis, that’s nice indeed… Unfornutatly I don’t think my server (Dragonbrand) would have people willing to pay for the improved golem, we barely see golems in WvW around here =P. But that’s a great price!
Interesting thoughts… I would like to have some data to talk about the MF transformations of T5->T6 materials, but I don’t, so I realy can’t speak bout it =P.

Hey guys, I was wondering: Since Skill Points are used to legendaries (and Mystic Clover) and you can buy them for 35 Fractal Relics, how much do YOU think one Skill Point is worth in terms of gold? 20s? 50s? 1g?
As times goes by the price of games goes down, true for every single title in the market, why wouldn’t it be with GW2 ?
