…Do Charr seem like they are about to fall over to one side when using 1 handed weapons? Every time my Charr pulls them out, he just looks a little off. Without weapons and with 2handers he’s fine, but he seems tilted just wrong with the 1handers standing there.
I’m not sure I comprehend here.
Vertical Progression is playing the game to make your character increasingly more powerful/have more things.
Horizontal Progression is simply Moar Content that the majority of people can do.
It fells to me like a lot of folks are saying that any ‘vertical progression’ is bad. But.. that’s what games are. From D&D to Frigging Mario (Yo Bro, getting that Fire Flower is Lame, I should be able to shoot fireballs from the beginning, I hate having to grind my way to hit that box. Why Cant the Princess be in the First Castle? Having to look for her in another castle is a frigging bullpuppy treadmill!.)
It sounds like some people just want a MMO version of Minecraft or some other game where everyone is homogenized to be exactly the same.
Also these catchphrases and buzzwords are really getting out of hand and abused terribly.
Leveling a Character is Not a ‘grind’, it’s called playing the frigging game. This remains true even if they add more levels later on. If they add more dungeons later on that are Harder, but still doable with current gear, and as a reward add some gear that makes the content a little easier, that’s incentive, not a treadmill.
And Yes, GW1 definitely has Vertical Progression and Content Gating.
Omg I hadnt really thought about it, but yer right! Hahaha I remember those quests. Suspicious Door, Suspicious Bushes… just people who dont agree with Jenna hiding out. I’m not really offended, but the brutality of it is cast in a totally new light. Win.
I am sorry you are injured.
However I love my Naga even more now.
I gotta chime in here. I played Wow for about 6 years, mebbe a little more. The one thing that kept bringing me back was Raiding. From my first Kills in Karazhan, my first Raid Drop (that gaudy green dagger from Moroes), the first time the Big Bad Wolf killed me. ( RUN AWAY LITTLE GIRL! ). Later raids Like Ulduar, which is still one of the best raids ever, that had a purpose and a story that brought you through the whole place.
Raids were something challenging, something to work for as a team, that taught you to play your class and fulfill your roll better.
I believe that Anet Could create raids in a way that could work, that would require teamwork, synergy between classes, and a real sesne of achievement and accomplishment in groups larger than 5, while still not being just a mindless Zerg press of bodies.
They would have to offer compelling rewards of course. One of my few problems with GW2 is the randomness of Gear on one hand (Boss Chests) and then the ‘Token Grind’ on the other. And when they do introduce ‘rare’ items, it’s not a 5% drop, or even a 1% Drop, it’s a crazy tiny thing. Cursed Chore has no real appeal, it’s not rewarding. Orr has no Unique Rewards for people to gather in Great numbers to do, save the Karma Exotics. People Will Complain about the ‘Carrot and Stick’ of other games, but this game sometimes feels more Stick and No Carrot. Perhaps have Dungeon Chests have a Chance to Drop Dungeon Specific weapons/armor as well.
I’m kinda going all over the place right now, but my point is, with the right group, and the right design, Raiding can draw players and really ensure people keep coming back and have an investment. Some folks like to play casual, I do too, or PVP, not always my bag, but I also miss Raid nights, and I dont wanna go to Pandaland
Engineers are a class I /really/ want to like, and play, but every time I make one, I just stare at the abilities and sort of cringe at the artwork. Perhaps this is petty of me but ‘looks’ are a big deal for me and judging by the customization avaliable in the game, Anet does too.
My Problem: Engineer ‘tech’ doesn’t look like it ‘fits’ with the rest of the game. It looks rather cobbled together from scraps with no real nod to the existing tech styles of the game.
My Suggestion: Make a couple different themed skins or similar, perhaps based on race.
An Engineer based in Asuran Technology will have lots of glowing blue lights, floating crystals and other magitech asuran looking gismos.
An engineer versed in Charr tech however will look different. Metal Barrels, rusty gears, jagged edges and ironwork filigree and the like. Something that looks like it was crafted in the black citadel.
These are my ideas and suggestions and think they would add a lot of flair, fun and uniqueness to the class.
I too am having this issue, with both Charr (Heavy) and Asura (medium) Tiers.
It seems to be specific colors related to what color they were ‘originally’ intended to be, or mebbe not. Example: Char T3 healm will not accept Ebony for the main part or gold for the cheeks.
Want more Disturbing? Use a Doll tonic and then /dance.
I want some Charr Hide armor for my Charr. Let me wear the skins of the Flame Legion!
The Title really says it all. In the expansions we are getting, we get new modes of currency (Candy Corn, Karka Shells, Ugly Clothes). I would like to see some more things to Spend the karma I constantly accrue playing this game. Fun Stuff, Skins, New Armor Sets, Cosmetic and Frivolous things. Right now if you have your Exotic armor and you dont want Cultural skins, that stuff just builds.
Waves Karma Cash Gimme Something Moar to waste it on!
It depends on what face you are using. Some of them (one blind eye with the front beard, some others) muzzle clip on the side no matter what they do. Being that this is Charr Teir I would hope they plan on fixing it, I had to change my face because it was aggravating me. I can see teeth clipping, but the muzzle really shouldnt.
Please fix?
What War are the Norn and Sylvari Winning? Norn Engineering and Sylvari Tech Airship and magical dragon lazers? Nope, dont remember that.
Hey everybody, thanks for your input on this. The chainsaw sound was not intended to trigger as often or play as loud as it is currently. Apologies for the auditory discomfort. A fix is in the works and we will be addressing these issues in a future patch. Thanks for understanding.
Omg I <3 you so hard right now.
I have to agree with the above posts. I cant swing without hearing that sound. It’s driving me batty. Please revert it. Pretty Please. With a baby Quaggan on top.
Race: Charr
Sex: Male
Class Guardian
Item: T3 Cultural Heavy ‘Dreadnought Visor’ helm.
Will not accept Ebony Dye in bottom slot, defaults to ‘dye remover’ after I leave preview.
Thou Shalt not Claim if thine Guild hath no Buffs.
I’ve been Awol in WvW packing the last few days, but I can say that most of AR has been against hacking and exploits from the beginning, even when theives hopping walls from the water and other tricks were common place.
That being said, if this is a new change and AR folks are pulling this? Knock it off guys, we’re a better server than that.
Dear ANet.
I had a Blast. The People in my guild had a blast and the people on my server seemed to have a blast. Lag was an issue, but I turned my graphics down and that seemed to fix it, however the culling seemed to blow the whole time and We were unable to see things more than a a certain amount ahead of us. Which was kinda hilarious when suddenly there’s poison everywhere, or the whole group got rolled over and we are suddenly cracking up wondering why we are dead. My largest ‘complaint’ would be that the two ‘reinforcement killing’ phases lasted a touch too long, but the bits around and between were fun (pew pew steam boulders!). There were times when almost the whole zerg was dead and people kited enemies away from the bodies so that somone could use a revive stone and start rezzing. It took an age but man it’s some of the most fun i’ve had in a while, even with the problems.
As for the rewards, I had hoped for a Precursor as I heard people were getting. Alas i got a named leather coat and an amulet that would have sold for about 5g then, likely less now. And you know what? I am happy with the bag and the accessory. I am jealous as hell to people who got Dusk/Zap/Etc, but good for you, Congrats.
To those that got booted at the end, I sincerely hope you get the reward you deserve when you send in a polite ticket to Anet.
To those who couldn’t miss it because of time Zone, that really sucks. I’m unsure if there is or ever will be a perfect solution, perhaps have it repeat 3-4 times in the 24-Hour cycle would be best?
What I do know is that even if there was 0-Lag, If Every Player was there, If Everyone got a Precursor, that this forum would still be flooded with anger.
So Not Signed. Arena Net, you broke a 6 year WoW Addiction, I log on and I have fun and I dont feel like this game is a job. Sometimes Amazing loot Drops, Sometimes I want to rub my face against a cheese grater (Stoopid Mad King Tower Puzzle!) However, none of those times have made me want to stop playing.
- A Player who enjoys this game.
Bugged on Anvil Rock as well.
Kea.8210, you are absolutely wrong. While the dungeon remains largely the same, the Hallows End event in Wow get’s upgraded and changed rather often. New events added (throwing rotten eggs at rival cities while riding on a witch broom, protecting your effigy etc) and new items. I’ve left wow in favor of GW2, but that doesn’t mean I’m blind to the work the game puts into it’s events.
My ‘Give a Turtle’ vanished after learning that the mad king armor was not the actual ‘Mad King’ Skin.
Is it animated like the 2hander is?
Also a Suggestion: Preview weapons being wielded, not on the hip where they are often clipped.
Also: Make Preview window bigger because there are times things are clipped off the edge of the window.
Lvl 70 set? What? Where?
Male Char Tier 3, Muzzle clipping through front of helm. I cannot un See it!
Dreadnought Visor. Not sure what other info you need.
This Kid makes me happy every time I hear it.
