So with all these new two toned hairstyles, I think It’s about time we had more than these 20 accessory colors. Half the time they don’t match up with anything remotely like they look on the screen and the selection is very limited, I have a very hard time matching up anything that looks good (subjective i know). Give the same colors as there are for hair, or add another hair color channel.
(Also, more Charr Fur colors)
I third this motion!
Mostly I would love a way to move around UI elements and perhaps reconfigure my ability bar layout and design. I don’t need a lot but other games have gotten me used to the idea of at least some customization options.
Still trying to get access to my GW1 Account, Ticket: 1285502 Feb 26
Thank you! 15 Charr!
All these topics remind me of one of my favorite quotes…
“It’s now very common to hear people say, ’I’m rather offended by that.’ As if that gives them certain rights. It’s actually nothing more… than a whine. ‘I find that offensive.’ It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. ‘I am offended by that.’ Well, so kittening what." —Stephen Fry
I too would like to say Thank You to Arena net. This has been a fracking blast. NEEOWWWRRRWOOOSH! Ignore the naysayers, this is fun. kudos.
I don’t understand this. Why can’t you just save up from your wallet like everyone else?
Well, it’s been explained, but I will outline how I use it. After each gaming session I put a set amount of gold into my personal guild bank. It’s a fairly small amount, but it’s every time I play. Just like a percentage of my paycheck is automatically deposited into my savings account. Out of sight out of mind. The money I have in my wallet is now free and clear to spend on whatever catches my eye.
I like to have a rainy day fund. I do the same with gems – buy a few each day so that I don’t have to deal with inflated prices when there’s a mad rush. It’s just a habit I’ve gotten into and it’s a system that works for me in game and in real life.
Sounds unnecessary. I just use this crazy thing called discipline.
Different people work different ways. Back before the wallet, keeping most my alts at a set amount of gold and putting the rest in the bank worked well for me. It was my savings. It helped me save. If i have the gold in hand i tend to spend it.

Backpack, probably for around Halloween, that has 8 spider legs. Similar to spinal blades but with an arachnid theme. I would love this.
Ticket 1285502, From February 26. :/
I remember when i could jump off a cliff, and then use Guard Greatsword 3 to super jump even further.
I came back to the game after a break and found out I could use nothing while jumping, so jarring and weird.
Yar, it has to do with differing materials and the like. The same dye color can be drastically different on the same piece of armor. Always been like that. You’ll need a different color for it to be black on there. Likely black, abyss or midnight ice.
Most the Charr abilities revolve around their technical prowess, their skill as engineers and their militaristic might. But what about the fact that they are huge muscular beasts with giant claws, teeth, and horns?
Idea: Replace Barrage, or something else with a ‘Savage Attack’ of some sort. Your char just lunges at the enemy with claws and teeth and rips and rends and tears before taking up his weapons once again, doing a bit of damage up front and then a fair stack of bleeds as well.
What you guys think?
So one side doesn’t want to party with MF leechers, the other doesn’t want to party with ‘Elitists’. So implement gearcheck and they’ll never have to group together again.
Meanwhile us reasonable folk will go on with our lives, off helpful suggestions to some, learn from others and have great conversations about buiilds and one stat over another.
Again, Vanity item.
They are vanity pieces, and people use transmute stones.
I think a lot of this is simply people hearing what they want to hear, and then when what they wanted didn’t happen, start claiming that the sky is falling. These Living story things are clearly build ups to something larger, the guild events seem to be large scale coordinated pve that the game was clearly missing. Every month since launch they have shoveled content at us. Latching onto one phrase (Expansions Worth of Content) and deciding that means an actual literal expansion and then calling them liars is silly. They are obviously dumping tons of effort and depth and content into the game. Just because you imagined cake and it wasn’t served doesn’t mean they stole your cake.
I like this Idea. One of the things I remember liking from Rift were Items that gave you auras fromt he different realms. The Purply Death Aura was awesome. Some dyes that could do that, or give shadowy trails and the like would be pretty epic. Make it a crazy cooking recipe or something.
…personal options picked in chargen.
For Charr, a Questline to switch Legions. To prove your worth to Blood, Ash or Iron, the repurcussions of leaving one for another, etc.
For Asura, switching to a different College.
Humans, mebbe Gaining Access to Nobility, or falling into destitution.
Norn, choosing a new totem spirit…
Just some Ideas on ways to evolve ones character and make new personal choices in game.
The Legs are Ascalonian Catacombs Legs. It was bugging me too for a while.
Iron Legion Charr with a Greatsaw! It is perfect and I will never stop!
A Pack of Skritt! – You play 5 Skritt! that run together in a mini swarm, with brains enough to function.
Tengu provided they give them a non Charr skeleton and a wide variety of bird looks.
Not-Kodan. I just dont like em. They are upright polar bears. Same with the Hylek. Skrit at least have the whole hivemend bit and the rat/bat hybridness.
And ya a Krait/Naga type race would be interesting. Or soemthing utterly new an d interesting that isnt <Insert animal here>-person.
Edit to add: Jotun!

As Abovem a happy medium would be nice. It’s extreemly quiet now. If it was a little louder but only procd once in a while. Once every minute or 30 secs, I dunno. It was very obnoxious when everything I did made it go crazy, but as others I barely hear it, only when Ihave a headset on and am really listening.
Eww, I just saw that on some NPC’s, that’s… ugh what happened?!
Heavy T3, and Ascalonian are my faves.
Dry Bones Set? It’s Craft-able, check the TP under ‘Shadow’ or something like that
As an MMO, Guild Wars 2 pales in features that bring a guild together to play and overcome obstacles and progress as a team. You know, the core stuff an MMO is supposed to be good at.
Really?
That whole WvW thing of taking over keeps/towers/forts etc. from an enemy that can bring thought and common sense to the battle, can’t bring guilds together? Those aren’t obstacles? And can’t let your guild progress as a team?
hmm…
I’d say most MMOs pale in comparison by that standard alone.
WvW is not PvE, nor is it capped by the number of players allowed (while being noticeably larger than the standard 5 man). It get’s easier the bigger your zerg is.
Not on an mmo it cannot.
That’s like QQing that the quaggan backpack took time away from making you an awesome staff skin.
It does. Unfortunately, the quaggan backpack is a necessary developmental evil, since they’re selling for additional money. If they made Raid content a cash shop thing, it would be easier so swallow for me, because I know that the content is paying for itself through cash shop sales and not being taken away from any other area. though I still wouldn’t like how it splinters the community, and I still wouldn’t like how its addition directly contradicts a selling point made by ANet pre-release.
If this is your outlook on it, then your argument is simply ‘if they spend time on something I don’t want, It shouldn’t be in the game. It’s selfish.
Furthermore that chain of logic suggests that everything should be cash shop. Dungeons, WvW, FOTM. Having harder difficulty content that requires coordination between a set number of people in no way breaks any promises. I dont care how much you scour every word and nuance someone at ANet said so that you hear what you want to. Adding new and different content will happen. I likley wont like some of it, but I’m not gonna tell people they shouldn’t have it. Community changes with everything. Keeping the game as is forever is simply not realistic.

This ‘limited resources’ argument is silly. It’s an invented excuse with no actual backing in proof or reality. This game has teams working on different things all the time. One for WvW, One for sPvP, One for Dungeons etc. The Idea that having raids would somehow sap these things is silly. Likely they would expand staff and build a team for balancing that. Employee numbers are not some fixed finite thing that could never be changed.
Yes, guilds showing off Awesome gear they got for fighting something crazy hard through teamwork and coordination is awesome and should be encouraged in this game. That’s what Legendaries were supposed to be, but arent.
Raid-like content (read: bigger harder dungeons for those who want it) does not nead to take anything from the game. Adding content is not taking from you. That’s like QQing that the quaggan backpack took time away from making you an awesome staff skin. This game is for everyone, and adding content that caters to diverse interests only strengthens the game, not weaken it.
OKay I posted last night, came back to read, and waht I’m reading makes me sad. First off, there is /nothing/ in that Manifesto that suggests that dungeon style PVE Content for 10+ players that does not reward hire stats or create a gate cannot be implemented. In fact I think it’s be something to make those that really want to learn to work together in PvE hone their abilities.
Second: The Dragons/Orr are not raids. There is no cap to how many people are there, they can and often are zerged down with simple numbers, not coordination or tactics. Saying that raid-esque content exists and then pointing to those is a false argument.
Thirdly: Please stop off of the cross. Please stop Strawmanning. (When you take someones argument and twist it and change what they actually said so that you can take it apart easier) The Idea that people want challenging structured pve content for groups larger than 5 does not mean they are crapping in your sandbox. They are suggesting making the sandbox bigger. They are asking for something that does not actually affect you if you do not wish to participate.
Fourth: As for Small Guilds and Raiding. Yes, sometimes the challenge of finding a larger group is harder for small groups. That’s simple math. HOWEVER: Guild Wars allows you to be part of more than one Guild. My friends and I have our very small guild, personal, private, it’s ours. Recently however we joined a larger guild because we wanted to do dungeons and fractals. We are still all friends within that larger group, we can still switch to our smaller if needed, while being friends with many people in the larger group now too.
Fifth-ly: Some of these arguments seem as if the ones arguing think that the content will somehow be mandatory. Like all aspects of this game it should be voluntary, and no one here I suggesting otherwise.
Sixhly: Fractals/Ascended Gear. Another Strawman, as ANeT has stated again and again that Ascended gear will be released for /all/ aspects of play. They wanted to release it with fractals but there was a hiccup.
Lastly: Please leave WoW and other games out of this. Those of us that want this content want to play GW2. We love their philosophy and manifesto as much as anyone else. For some people raiding was a bad experience, but ANeT’s angle on MMO’s has been game changing so far, I have complete faith that they could do this. DOnt think of them as ‘Raids’ Call it ‘Larger Harder/Morecomplex Dungeons’ Like regular dungeons, you dont have to play, but if you want CoF Armor you have to do CoF. It’s not better than your crafted armor, it just looks different.
Thank you for yer time.
By in game benefits you mean cosmetic goodies? Also ‘most raiders are too elitist’ is a rather sweeping statement. Like saying all Germans are Anti-Semetic
Look Humans, as Soon as the Dragons are gone, the Charr will finish you off, just be patient.
On a more serious note, go hang out int he black citadel, listen tot he charr, read thier lore about the horn Rurik blew to make it rain. 250 years a lot can happen, Charr history is not human History. There is a lot of skew and bias with both races. Hell Humans aren’t even native to this planet apparently. The Charr are a warlike race, they dont apologize for it, and likely never will.
Humans being a dying race is /awesome/. Sure I get it, were human, so we should be all ‘go humanity!’ but these arent us, this sint Earth. Think of them as Krytans, or Tyrians. As a seperate race that looks like us (I mean I cant throw fireballs). The Lore in this game is rich and awesome, and the Charr then are the Charr now, but seen as an actual race, seen uner different light, as a whole people, not just their front line soldiers.
I’d like them to fix how we hold daggers and 1h swords in general. Especially while running which moves the weapon up a whole hand length.
Heck I would like some attention to how every race holds thier weapons. So many swords in particular look unbalanced and top heavy with grips in awful places. But I’m a nerd about those sorts things.
Nothing wrong with voicing objections, however I do not see how this takes away from you. I mean personally I wish sPVP wasn’t in this game, because they often nerf down PVE because of PVP imbalance, which leads to homogenization between classes, which we already have enough of without traditional roles or the ability to go ‘full’ tank or heal. I think that does far worse then making larger more difficult dungeons. Also: Anet states that they have separate teams working on different things. A Team working on Holiday content is separate from the team adding to PVE is separate from the billing team is seperate from the Wvw Team. So if they decided to add raids, I would imagine they would hire a team to develop them, and the resources going towards the content that you love would not be diminished. I in no way want to take anything from your enjoyment of the game, I simply with to enjoy my game more.
DLL, I think, and I’m not attempting to be insulting here, that you have a rather fixed view here. You have some interesting arguments, but you seem to be coming from the point of ‘I don’t want raids’ and then building your argument to support that.
I played Wow for many years. I raided for a lot of those. I had about 3 friends when I hit max Level in Burning Crusade. It took me about 2 days to find a raiding guild when I decided to see what is up with that raiding nonsense. Stepping into Gruuls Lair that first time was EPIC. I still remember the joy I had learning that first 5 Ogre Boss fight, learning new things about my class, even wiping and trying again, doing better, being part of this 25 man team was amazing. I was NOT a good player then (Combat dagger dagger rogue with no weapon spec blah blah) which in this much more forgiving game would equate to trying to use a water weapon on land. I made friends I never would have made, I enjoyed an entirely new aspect of the game I never before knew existed, and lastly, that experience, those raiding experiences are what kept me there for years and years.
Now I’ve Left wow, with good memories, but it’s become a thing I dont like anymore. (I miss you still protodrakes!) The Moment i got the Beta Weekend invite I was Hooked. I love the Lore, The game, the Visuals, I even liked it enough to go buy GW1 and play that when I take time from this game. It’s a Rich and well thought out world. The First time i saw the Shatterer I almost peed with glee and awe. I PLay WvW, I do dungeons, tho fractals frankly make me wanna slam my dick in a door instead; But even that’s gotten better since I joined a Guild of awesome people. Which took me about 5 minutes of talking to one of thier members after having seen them around for a bit. No one in the guild asked me if I’d done a place before when I wanted to join, they were helpfull and explained things as we went if it was a path Ididnt know. The GW Community as a whole is refreshingly nice and nontoxic.
But I miss Raiding. I do not feel that Raiding will ruin the environment of this game. Raiding does not have to be some gated horror story. It could drop it’s own tokens as Dungeons do. It could let the designers really show how their multi class synergy is supposed to work on a larger but also more controlled scale. It could drop Unique weapon skins. Heck! Even let it affect your world in a manner like WVW (minor crafting bonuses for all when we crush the Giant Risen Sea Turtle: Tortizahn! Who Drops an awesome looking Spear skin that only those who have defeated him may get a chance to obtain!)
I do not see how this would effect your idea of this game. It’s a large Dungeon that’s Difficult and would require team work and coordination. It’s not Wow-Herpes.
/Signed, Account Bound pleeeeeeeeeeeaasse.
Don’t the devs have more important things to be doing?
No, things like this are amazing and awesome gems to find and bring me glee and joy. Keep it up guys!
I found my way here on my Guard! Heee! It’s Awesome.
Actually it is more gearpunk I think. I mean it is gears running all that kitten. Not steam.
I was initially against these things too. But you know what… it fits. It really fits the game and the charr.Sure these things are powerful, but they are still just an alternative to magic. It wont overpower the other elements, it just lets less magically inclined people have a go too.
Gearpunk, good word really. I was thinking almost more diesel punk, but I cant tell if they are using some sort of combustion engine yet. I am really not a huge fan of the ‘Steampunk’ explosion in fandom these days, but when I log into this game, I see Charr tech, I dont see people running around in froo froo Victorian outfits with bronze painted nerfguns and cogs and such superglued to everything.
Steampunk: When Goths Discovered Brown, is not what Charr Tech is at all. It has a hugely different feel to it. They also use feline/charr faces in a lot of their metalwork (see Heavy tier 3) so Using it on their tanks and such seems a logical leap.
As for the Poor Humans… well, they will be taken care of as soon as we finish with these pesky dragons.
Here’s another of my Roteater…
I transmuted a flame legion coat down to lvl 40 for him >_>
I still want to know if it will affect Guards/Warriors who aoe with all their attacks.
Re: Aoe Nerf. What will this affect? I use a Greastsword on both Guardian and Warrior. They do AoE with all the attacks, weather single target or not. I love my greastsword, I dont wanna have to put it away.
Elaborate please. Does this mean all AOE, including Greatsword attacks for Guardians and warriors? Most my attacks are ‘aoe’ and I use them single target as well.
You just wait till were done with the dragons…
