I play several theif build types,

I have blown up condi thiefs (yes, even some rocking full dire) on my s/d d/p power build. I wont break down every little detail for you, but it works best with 6 in SA, maintaining good blind up time and proper timing of infiltrator’s strike when my target manages to pull off a shadow strike.

I do get outplayed from time to time, but I do not come here to qq about it.

Carrion isn’t really for hybrid, it just give alittle bit more punch to your burst, and helps with things like ele diamond skin. The rampagers is great for hybrid play and is not uncommon to find people running p/d , d/p weapon sets with it.

OP, why can’t you admit you got outplayed? If your gonna hate on it, don’t play it.

Don’t understand why so many cherry pick what is a “cheese build”. I die to zerk phant Mesmer because I badly timed my dodges, that Mesmer runs a “cheese build”.

Actually, I have noticed on rare occasions sneak attack not going off but vital shot instead. Could be a ranger or engi reveal right before I pop the sneak attack, just not sure.

How can you take the OP seriously? @op, have you ever used these runes? You have any idea how often that fear procs on pets and clones? The proc cannot be controlled and more often than not, it will proc at unpredicted moments. If anything the CD needs to be reduced by 20-30 seconds.

lol, sorry, just answered my own question. Guy was running Superior Rune of Perplexity and Scorpion Wire for the interrupt right after the steal. Very strong rune set for condi.

Hello, I’ve been playing with using Bewildering Ambush. It is nice to get the stack of 5 confusion on steal. Lately, I been coming across more and more condi thief’s using this GM trait. One particular fight left me stumped.

This guy was able to get 10 stacks of confusion on me instantly. I am still trying to figure out how that was done. Anyone got an idea?

are you referring to casting dagger storm while in stealth? how does this help with phantasm melee?

A dire p/d thief is the scissors to our paper if you are power based. Unless you are also condition based, better run. On the flip side of it, a dire thief will rarely pull off a win against a elementalist running diamond skin.

I was having this discussion with a few other thief players earlier this week. Our consensus was the status quo may be unintended by the developers.

The question was should abilities like Ranger’s rapid fire and Mesmer phantasms/adds persist to target and damage after a thief enters stealth?

Hello all, I’ve been fooling around with rifle lately and been seeing some fairly big numbers with kill shot. Highest so far I’ve seen was about 10.2k on a light armor target and 9.7k on a medium armor.

Some of the hits I’ve had were indeed true kill shots, taking targets at <50% hp to dead.

bummer, yea, well its not a total loss. I can try to make a few gold to compensate for the error by selling the legging panel on the TP. It will still end up being a bit of a loss.

I honesty think that the extent of the +crit dmg nerf to celestial gear was unintentional, likewise for the divinity rune set. I am confident that someone working out the ferocity formula will find a proper adjustment for these two.
