I like to kill AFK people with dogs, actually I do it every time when I can… And the dog are really easy to avoid, don’t see the problem if you are not AFK. Room have 3 entrances that can be used to escape.

Dude, how you can compare 80+ million dead people to a game universe? It is total kitten. And hell don’t say to me that Germany is free country nowdays…. with 35 US bases (60% of all US military installation in Europe) they apparently protecting Germany from Iran and North Korea lol.

gw1 was just like this. they promoted a single trinity group build with monks, control chars (mesmer/ranger/gale eles) and warriors on gvg (spearheaded by the korean guilds who shined with it) and all the viable other builds (fotms like IWAY, ranger/necro/ele spike, RaO way, dervway, etc) nerfed to death until that single build was played over and over again. even the fotms in tombs (vimway, monk spike, hexway etc) were nerfed to death.

Yeah, still missing Vimspike days in HA, and Touch Rangers in their power… And that was the thing witch made GW great PvP game. It had an options for team play.

Matchmaking is all about 50/50.

Played 100 sPvP games in the last days and had total of 3 good games. Two on legacy with lord killing, one on forest with 497/500 count. All other 97 games was about stomping trough enemy team or losing horribly.

First ten games was on practice mode.
Unranked played/won: 63/27 (this is after 2 year break from GW…)
Ranked played/won: 27/13 (more recent)

And there is the pattern in my eyes. I’m getting close to 50% win rate all the time. If my team wins, then next time I would get people who just play their first PvP and just don’t cap. It could be problem of player base… so I went to ranked. And guess what if you win several times? Then you would face several 5 man teams while playing 5 man solo.

Well tech wise it’s really easy for Anet. Noobs are happy, they getting their wins for the dailies. But everyone who above mediocre level is just face-rolling their keyboard every time they get full Jackie Chan team. It’s okay for the game with “proper” cash shop. They forcing you to spend money to be better than 50% winrate, like Hearthstone (played a lot of it and know what I’m talking about).

But here where everybody have the same stats… This just isn’t right. Right now everybody would say to me that I should get a team, that someone in Anet said, that sPvP don’t make esports. Well then just ban sPvP and make unranked and ranked PvP only for 5 man teams.

I’m really concerned about buying HoT with this matchmaking. Core game still have big issues after 3 years, and it is so with only one constructed mode, and assuming that Stronghold is more team dependent, it would be even worse to play sPvP and find normal game.

GW1 worth buying?

As to game play, some call it archaic but I rather enjoy Guild Wars 1 combat to this day. It takes knowledge and skill to build a team that can perform well. Which is completely the opposite of Guild Wars 2 where literally anything can be used. The story is extremely well written and is more than Guild Wars 2 could ever hope to be. The lore is fantastic. There is a reason Guild Wars 2 was so overhyped and it is due to the previous game being amazing."

This! But anyway I would recommend to play first weeks of GW1 with at least one friend.

PvP in GW1 actually far better tech wise than what we still have in GW2. GW1 has build switching tool! And more game modes and maps to play, where GW2 have only one poor deathmatch mode and running simulation mode.

Lore and PvE in GW1 is good. PvE in GW2 is generally bad, but have some really great moments, when you are limited to 3-5 people on events. Zergs are killing all fun in GW2. Lore… I think they should focus on dungeon content to make GW2 good.

Gameplay vise… well GW1 and GW2 just two different games.

Common, people just want to communicate with PROPER FONT. We don’t need any support.

Russian isn’t Cherokee with it’s 10 400 native speakers lol…, it is native for more than 250 million people. Witch is bigger than German and French brought together. Russian just ended unlike Czech or Polish with different charset type, and basically I don’t think that anybody from the side would understand ether Czech, Polish or Russian written with Latin letters.

But here is the thing, Czech and Polish can communicate properly with each other, when Russians don’t. And they don’t get any support from GW team anyway, and they disturbing chat as Russian players do.

Speak English or die? You know while I know 4 languages and 2 of them is on the level everyday work and life, there is always somebody who know only one language.

And the game still lacking basic communications types like Cyrillic or Arabic, as it should be in cheap Free to Play game. ;-)

Main problem is not in “other” nations ignorance of good general chat rules. Main problem that people can’t even whisper each other on their native languages. General chat can be done with language filters, to prevent Americans and French having kitten from unidentified letters as they usually do.

It’s okay to use other non-game communications, but when you want to help stranger, that speaks your language, it is becoming language puzzle.

Win 7 language bar bugs. Cyrillic support?

Hi there. Every time when I have GW2 in the background, Korean, Japanese and two versions of Chinese added to my language bar, without any possible way to remove them. I am working already with 3 languages (EN, RU, ES) additional 4 making any comfortable work impossible with GW2 at the background.

And is it a bug, but in GW2 I have no support of Russian? Why I can use English or Spanish in game, but could not use Russian? How I’m supposed to talk to other Russian players? Cyrillic is hard to implement to game unlike it was in GW1?

Lessons learned in GW1, forgotten in GW2?

Hello.

Well I’m frustrated with how story content of GW2 is treated after 3 successful story lines of GW1: Factions, Nightfall, EotN (actually 4 if you count in War in Kryta and other stuff).

GW1 actually had a bad experience of original story line. Story was spitted up to missions that you could access at any time trough map exploration. That resulted people running other players to endgame content (mainly armor) for ingame money. Of course that resulted bad experience of story telling. Also you could unintentionally miss some missions just exploring new regions and entering more later missions.

Lessons were learned, and in later GW1 chapters story was on rails and it led to good storytelling.

So now we have GW2. We have some story on rails and the dungeons that are the main part of story (as how I understand it now).

You can skip every single dungeon and finish the story with last boss fight. And I intentionally did it, because I had 80lvl char already, and just wanted some endgame skins. Well I have no idea of what happening with the story… Then I just followed the new quest to Ogden Stonehealer and finished his strange quest arc… What on Earth? Pact fleet? What is with Caithe? What is all about other new dragon, what!? we storming him already? Are we going to kill every single dragon so fast, yesterday I just killed Zhaitan!?

So I went to wiki to figure things out. Oh, that was living story chapter! Last one for the season 2. (didn’t see that coming, haven’t played since release) Go and buy some more and get the answers! (buying that is actually ok for me, but what the point after finishing the story line?) It’s like reading last chapter of the book. And it is possible to do it twice with current story content of GW2.

Anet please, do it old way. Make dungeons accessible only after completion of previous ones. Make living story as one chunk after season ending as it is, I see no point of buyng ep 5 or 6 without other episodes. I understand that it is cool to receive new episodes every month, but please care about players that play GW as holiday fest several times a year, we spending same money on the game and giving less server load.

Right now story is just potential mess for the new players. I like GW2 and will actually enjoy everything with my alts, bit my main screwed it up badly. Nevertheless the game becoming better since release, thanks for that!
