When you consider armor as the only factor in survivability then your argument is true. However, that is not the case in GW2.
I run heavy healing and heal for 2400 each shout. I also run heavy defense and focus on rallying. It works out well.
I think the guardian is a stronger class, but the thief is more of what I would describe as faceroll.
Guardian, it is what it is. I wouldn’t complain about a thief or mesmer though.
I agree with a lot you have to say OP, but you seem a bit eager to bash the game.
My problem is I won’t be going back to WoW, I’ve grown way too bored of it. So I have to accept the game as is and push for some changes.

There’s a trait in the discipline tree that makes movement skills break immobilize. Take it. GS gives you 2 outs, Hammer(what I use) gives you one, Sword would give you another one on short cd.
Stop building glass cannon. I run 27k hp with 1.9k toughness and still have 3200 power. I don’t kitten on people but no one kitten’s on me either. Thieves and mesmers have to work to get me to go down and I can pound on them for quite a bit.
Try playing a support role, we actually do good. Take the warhorn and shouts, spec up to healing shouts. Team will love you.
We have options, use them.
Or you could just play a guardian and perform much better at the role you are playing.
Greatswords are cheap to buy currently.
A sword by itself is more expensive. Add in the shield cost and it just isn’t cost effective for your average warrior.

I think we can all agree thieves are top tier at the moment. A well played thief is practically gg unless you have specific counter builds for them. Just know, they can and are frequently, shut down though. Warriors are harder to “shut down” when played well.

Yeah, when I’m playing my thief, I love seeing a warrior as an opponent. Just the way it is.
It isn’t so much that you can’t be effective with other builds, it is that other classes can do it better. So why bring a warrior?
Any class can be built to be glass and I wasn’t saying they can’t be paper thin. I was responding to the guy who said thieves can only participate by standing on the outside. It simply isn’t true.
Thieves defense is based on things other than pure health and when built for it they are incredibly survivable.

Play a thief, they’re PAPER THIN. Honestly, if you’re not playing a burster who sits on the sides of the fight until he can jump in->nuke someone->and get out you’re playing the class wrong. Thiefs can’t participate in regular pitched battles unless they play like this because splash damage alone wrecks them.
A thief can spec to be just as survivable as a guardian. Calling a thief paper thin because you only spec yours that was is a bit short sighted.
I’ve faced some dominant necros in tournaments, not seen really any good ones outside of them though.

“Wait for cooldown” ? :p what cooldown 6 seconds ? minus the 2 seconds of HB = 4s ? 1 dodge roll then charge again and hb again.
But im just being sarcastic, every class rely on same mechanic, burn ur burst, roll around for 2-4 seconds, then burst again, rinse/repeat.
Cooldowns don’t work this way for any ability. The cooldown starts at the end, not when you activate.
By your own description it was 4 abilities. Just remember this rule of thumb, warrior roots or stuns you…..dodge after you break it.
If you are talking about tournaments, then yeah, it is hard to win.
Playing during the day helps because a lot of good players are doing pug tournies. During the night the good ones join their groups.

I’m at least 3x more survivable on my thief than I am on my warrior and I still do more damage than my warrior.
I think it is a phase in issue, not a lag issue. You see the damage and the little swirly black stuff, just not the thief for about a second.

I’d agree that guardians are in the top tier of classes along with mesmers, thieves, and engineers. I wouldn’t say they are any stronger than those classes though.
I will admit that 9 out of 10 requests for a player in THOTHM is looking for a guardian.
It is used as the primary ability in the evasion/heal/condi build that annoys everyone.
Warriors and elementalist both are classes I don’t mind running up against. Sure they can bite you if you don’t pay attention, but in general they are lacking.
Rangers aren’t far behind and all three classes are inferior to whatever roll they are playing to the other classes.
I’ve been thinking they were too strong, but really, they are starting to get easier to beat. The only real complaint I have is phantasms during their downed state. I think they should go away when the mesmer is downed.
The joys of playing a Warrior. Bull’s Charge, Frenzy, Hundred Blades, Eviscerate. Dead Thief, everytime.
As long as I don’t see you coming and neither one of my stun breaks is up, you may actually win.
Mesmer needs a buff since release I lost 2 1v1, not acceptable.

Downed state is pretty imbalanced in general.
I also think mesmer clones/phantasms should go away when they are downed.
You can run a mobility build for survival that has good damage. You just have to get good at knowing when to get out of a situation, which a warrior can do well.
If they are so good you should play them. I would love it if everyone played hs thieves.

I’ve somewhat given up on spvp for WvW until things get sorted out. It just isn’t that fun currently.

If by assassins you mean thiefs, they absolutely have better burst than warriors.
I’m not opposed to watching streams, because it is a good way to learn. I do agree however the thread is a bit misleading the way it is titled.
I think the moa should be a 4 second cast and put a huge moa ghostlike figure above the mesmer while casting.
