I had a ton of fun on MM. Blood Bond and Transfusion are amazing traits to use. Condi Necro is still borked, power necro is better at using condis than condi is, plague is awful I literally killed other necros solely because they tried to use Plague, and Consume Conditions is so bad I am using SoV. Overall it was fun though, so long as I ignored the bad stuff.

Thanks for sharing the MM experience. I plan on giving that a go tomorrow, but honestly I love the feel of power wellmancer. A really good amount of survival mixed in with a ton of damage.

Every time I see a ranger approaching I’ve learned to put protection up.

My game crashed during Vinewrath three times.

Other than that, it’s been a blast. Tried Necro and Warrior so far, and pve condition specs are crazy fun. I don’t know how much exactly pve condi necro got buffed, but it feels a lot stronger now.

That is pretty good to hear. I’ll probably mess around with the pve side tomorrow.

I pretty much did pvp all day long and had a good time. It has been awhile since I’ve played GW2 pvp so I was a bit rusty, but picked it up quickly.

I tried out both the standard signet/condi builds with several variations of it and power/wellmancer builds.

I originally planned on playing the condi side of things, but really fell in love with the wellmancer idea and gameplay. So much incoming healing and massive aoe damage.

I performed the most poorly against rangers, a few times I literally died before I even knew I was getting hit.

How about everyone else? How are things going on the PvE side?

If the nerf is internal cool down on signets of suffering, I called that a week ago.

They were never going to let Cancelling signet skills give you might or let signet of the locust AoE boon convert.

Since they specifically pointed out you could aoe boon convert when they talked about Necros on twitch, I’m fairly sure it was intended.

Does the signet proc from Plague Sending also act as a stunbreak by the way? Chaith seems to think it does but he’s not the one playing it so it might be hard to tell, and Nos didn’t say anything about it.

yep and it also gives you mights and corrupts boons with signet of suffering.

Well, it requires you to crit the target, so either there are lag issues or he isn’t breaking stuns with it since he can not crit while stunned.

Nos was using power gear against Chaith, said the first few duels were Soldiers, then Celestial, then he tried zerker. It really does seem like Plague Sending is ridiculously overpowered, wouldn’t be surprised if it got nerfed.

EDIT: maybe changed to when you reach 50% health?

It does appear to be strong against condi classes, but that is undoubtedly the intention of the trait.

If it needs an adjustment, which is hard to determine until all the changes settle in, I’d say making it require 4 conditions to trigger would be a better route.

He was running spite/curses/soul reaping.
You can tell he is from the obvious way lf drains super slow thanks to vitalP and how SA procs on him.

There are duels later on where he stop cancel casting and still manages to reach 20+ might because of siphoned power being 2 stacks 22.5s on might on a 1s ICD.

That makes sense.

I think I have the build figured out except for chill of death vs unholy fervor. I don’t recall seeing chill cast on him at 50%, do you know which he is using?

Nos didn’t say it but since he told he isn’t running blood nor soul reaping he was running spite, curses and death with soldier amulet and strength runes (atleast in one point). 1v1 Chaithh wasn’t even close. Chaithh either didn’t figure out the new traits and skill or Nos just found a way to hard counter engi 1v1. Nos did state that he actually was cancel casting signets to stack might (also stated tha he has told it to Karl). But the passive Plague signet looked powerful combined with actual PS and Signets of Suffering.

He must have switched it up at some point because he popped the spectral auto in those early duels. Or it looked like he did.

As to cancel casting….I hope it gets fixed because other classes can do the same thing for unintended boons. How viable is his damage output without doing that?

Did anyone see the engi condi build the guy just showed? Necro will come no where near as close to that with conditions.

Haha! Now he has a zerk engi that is one shotting the light golem with a 14 second cool down.

I will possibly try Signet necro with Spite/Curses/BloodMagic.

I don’t expect it to be good but I expect it to be fun to have an effective 7 signets to use.

Yeah, I’ll be going with this at first as well. I won’t use that many signets, but same idea.

Signets of suffering, is a GM trait in the spite line. What it does is reduce the cooldown for when you can apply the lesser signet of vamparism to your target by applying four bleeds t them. The exact cooldown isn’t known currently but was stated to be either 15 or 20 seconds.

So by having signets of suffering you would reduce the time to 12 or 16 seconds. You would also get some might stacks and convert a couple of boons on the target to conditions.

You cant signets in pvp. You need flesh wurm as an escape mechanic or it will be so easy to gank you. Running 3 signets is just not viable at all.

I agree with that, but I’m not running three, just two with wurm. My main concern is stability.

Locust and plague are the two I’ll run. Locust because it will be an aoe boon corrupt on a shortish CD with a 600 radius.

Do you mean fire shield? It didn’t about an hour ago when I tested it. It just reset the timer. It may be different with the others auras. I don’t believe they are called shields with the other auras.

Pretty much the same as I figure except with weakening shroud instead of lingering curses, cause 50% uptime on weakness is a really strong defense.

Here is the way I look at that and I may change my mind, but with all the boon conversion we have now and all the might stacking every class has, we should be able to keep weakness up 100% just by converting boons.

I like the idea of it, but not sold on it just yet. I’m thinking of trying out a sword and board/longbow condi build with it. Putting down a fire field and then using the two leap finishers will give me 20 seconds of fire shield. This seems fairly good.

I think what you’d be giving up for it would make the build a lot stronger.

I like the way they went with this, but the execution is flawed. The trait is simply too weak.

Well, I just tested it and it doesn’t stack regardless. It simply resets the timer on the aura.

What good is it to have it activate twice if it in essence does nothing extra? It could be the most worthless GM in the game.

I guess water, smoke, and poison would still do something, but it is literally worthless with every other field if auras don’t stack.

Looks good. I’ve got the same traits in curses and spite, but will use blood magic as my third line.

Oh, one more thing, the way condition duration works was changed a few months back. You now get an additional fractional tick of damage and no damage is wasted.

Where it’s bad, it’s REALLY REALLY kittenING BAD. Consume nerf is legendary levels of bad. A few other bad things here and there but nothing that makes the same waves as Consume.

Still though…….it is better than any of our other heals even with the nerf!

What you want is always different than what you will get. This is how it will happen:

“Utility slots can now be seen when in shroud. To offset this you will now apply 2 stacks of burning to self for each second you are in shroud.”

Even in a 1v1 situation, you cant get all 5 procs yourself (and the problem is made worse by the fact that if you are taking this trait, you probably aren’t taking dagger, which means that you will be lucky to get two proc).

A siphon that only hits for, say, 400, has a 20 second cooldown, and is gated by two preconditions before it even works is among the very worst traits in the game for all classes.

The trait should do something if you take it and not depend on taking another trait to do something.

It is gated, but I will be using the other signet trait and locust on my utility bar.

My plan, and I hope it works, is to use horn offhand. When it procs I’ll use locust swarm. Since it siphons it will hit the target and use all 5 charges.

At least that is the plan to use them up! Now if it actually works well….I can always adjust.

I’d personally not take parasitic contagion. If you are wanting to support, a 10 second aoe weakness would work well. It will probably get cleansed quickly, but short cooldown and you can also single target it with crits.

I’m also not a fan of the focus. The vuln is nice, but the casted shivers is way to long of a cast. Try horn. Frontal daze and locust will proc your siphons 10 times in an aoe.

Traits, look into signet of locust, it gives you an aoe boon corruption with your signets trait.

Looks good other than that!

Procs need to be toned down.

It should behave like other trait procs and have no activation time.

I mean you have to stack four bleeds or will it work on the reset if you already have four existing bleeds on the target? I just assumed you had to put four new bleeds up.

I’m just happy that when the signet procs it doesn’t apply a mountain sized stack of a condition to self.

Master of Corruption and lesser Signet of Vampirism are very disappointing.

I don’t think lesser signet is disappointing.

They stated it would have a 15 or 20 second cooldown. If you add in signets of suffering it is reduced to 12-16 seconds. Add in the 2 seconds it will take to activate it and you can apply it every 14-18 seconds.

When you activate it you get 3 stacks of might and convert two boons on the target to conditions. You also put a mark on them that will do 1000 damage and heal for 1900 over its lifetime.

Seems pretty good to me.

As to dark path, I’m “guessing” they didn’t want you to heal in shroud too much. Since they said they are watching it, I’d imagine it is a reasonable adjustment to make to push it to 4 bleeds.

Agree for now, but they did recognize necro would have issues when they changed the movement skills and they would address it at some point. So hopefully between now and the expansion it will be addressed.

I thought it was implied on barbed precision that due to target the weak giving 2% crit now instead of damage you could get crit too high.

I think that the new weakening shroud is A LOT better than lingering curse. Whether your scepter AA applies 6 or 12 seconds of bleed will not matter much if you are faced with frequent condition removal. However, being able to quickly and frequently apply weakness can actually save you since it basically nullifies the burst potential of power builds.

You may be correct. It is definitely something I’ll play around with to see which I prefer. I’ll probably go well of power in my third utility slot for initial melee protection and see how it goes running lingering curses.
