Sure, then warriors will have everything
No matter which one you choose it’s going to be boring..
Considering I primarily play GW2 for WVW. I agree.
Class balance and WvW pvp is all I’m interested in and seeing changes to this once every 6-12 months is a joke.
Class Balance….
It’s an important feature -.-
Lets take a guess at how much Critical Damage your build loses with the upcoming changes to Ferocity:
I predict I will have around 50% after the next Half yearly balance patch.
What do you have and what do you think it will be after the next balance patch?
(edited by Zutha.5091)
Wow….
I remember back in the day with Age of Conan and the slow balance patches there … the gem stacking comes to mind. Many people quit because it took them 4-5 months to fix an obviously broken mechanic.
Think I’ll boycout gem purchases.
I’m just curious. I stopped playing a while back because of lack of balance and culling mechanics.
Now I’m awaiting for a balance patch to stop being frustrated with seeing the same builds constantly.
The cycle seems to be incredibly long and lazy from what I’ve seen….
Forever ele btw
High Burst? You’re kidding.
You’re talking about a single proc, skill set… so your thought is to nerf their burst damage across the board…

hoho “every class” and not an ele build there
I couldn’t give a kitten about this living world. I pvp, wvw… waiting 11 months for a good balance patch is shocking.

I agree with you Cush,. Just annoying that a lot of classes can use auto attack and do more damage than chaining 3+ abilities
Churning earth is a massively telegraphed ability and anyone with an IQ above 50 can dodge it.
50? You can have an IQ of 1 and still have time to escape, that or you can just interrupt them, unless they are using another insanely long cool down skill to prevent that, in which case – just walk out, with such a long cast time you could walk all the way out and laugh at them as they waste a an insanely long cast time skill that will hit NO player. Unless of course you have friends that are keeping them there, That Guardian ring for example.
tbh to land a churning earth I use 2 abilities (around 50sec cooldown each) to not get interrupted, or be out of range… and still they can dodge out of it at the end…
I’ve fought an eng who does 20-25 k condition damage in under 5 seconds.
Churning earth is a massively telegraphed ability and anyone with an IQ above 50 can dodge it.
You’re in disneyland if you think the next patch even remotely fixes the fault with elementalists.
In fact, a large amount of elementalists use celestial gears, which is getting a large nerf with the ferocity changes.
People complain about warriors because it’s designed for the mental ability of a 5 year old, and is 1 of the most strongest classes.
I’m so fed up with the lack of balance changes by arena net.
My preferred class is an elementalist… it suits me and I enjoy it.
My friends and I fight in small scale, roaming pvp.
But the amount of work to make the character viable is an absolute joke. I have NEVER lost against another elementalist, infact my friends and I laugh when we see one, it’s primaried, it dies. I’m a D/D build and am primaried every fight, not because of the danger I pose, but the fact it’s easier to get a kitten class off the field rather than let it do what it likes.
We tend to win a majority of group fights as I’m spec’d completely on survival… but doing so means I can not do anything else.
I cycle through 15-20 skills over 10 seconds to keep going, but tonight I got fed up.. i thought kitten it… i’ll have a laugh and jump on my warrior.
So for a joke I said to ym mates, I’ll press 1 only….
It was more viable, survived longer, did more damage than my elementalist (condition sword, shield build).
After an hour I jumped on my thief…. I press 5, then 1 (stealth, backstab) again more viable.
I can note fathom the mentality of the balance team for arenanet.
Condition warrior… press 1 for bleed, things die
Thief, stealth back stab, 10-12k crits
Elementalist….. fire, 4 skills, churning.. dodged every time even with teleport, lucky to get 5k crit with full exotic, skills highly telegraphed so easy to dodge, high cooldown.
dodge, heal, through whole cycle done 10k dmg, warrior regen quick than next load of damage, thieves stealth and heal, condition remove…. engineers use 3 keys to do 15k dmg with another 10k dot tick on top,, mesmers are more and more using conditoon builds where there is NO SKILL INVOLVED in any of these character builds. Yet an ele requires the apm of sc2 professionals to keep up..
it takes MONTHS for Arenanet to even accept there’s an issues (no offence but you’re as dull as two short planks) and after months of debate, change classes than in no way fix anything.. (ferocity upcoming is a laugh as it reinforces meta again).
I personally can not see myself continuing with this lack of insight.
-.-
Unfortunately I’ve watched you perform and if it weren’t for the culling system it would be a good to watch due to the organisation.
But when your strat involves:
1. Attack while invisible
2. You become visible
3. You retreat
4. Repeat
and more importantly always, and i do mean always retreat after you become visible and start taking casualties there’s no wonder why it is deemed that KDS exploit the invisibility culling effect.
So what I will do instead is simply this:
1. Record
2. Link to ArenaNet and here.
TO clearly show how you attack while invisible, visible, run, attack while invisible, visible, run.
Let them make the decision in regards to yourselves only attacking for 10sec after going through portals and invisible etc and if you’re so confident that you are not doing it, keep doing it so I can get some good footage to allows every organised guild to do it without ArenaNet slamming the ban hammer. Which they are very much inclined to do regarding anything not intend.
So carry on
Speaking of thieves, they are apparently able to finish someone off while stealthed. I’ve seen it happen twice now and not when large numbers of people alive. I was watching as 2 people were reviving someone downed when the downed person suddenly died and a thief appeared and ran off.
This is intended and I can prove it
I do this and I learnt about it from going to Heart of the Mist and fighting the thief NPC who did it to me :P
It’s not like that tactic is helping Them much they’re still losing hard last time I checked
True enough, but it’s annoying to see a whole guild purposefully need to exploit a game mechanic to win. If the culling system didn’t make them invisible for 5secs while fighting I would be congratulating the guild commander instead.

If the enemies all stood on the wall and jumped off at once it would be fine as when they get to the wall, it starts loading in for each players.
The portal itself forces the players to reload causing them to be invisible. It’s the exact reason for them doing.
This post isn’t against mesmer or a call to change their abilities. It’s a post to ban people who are exploiting a game mechanic intended to make WvWvW better as at the end of the day, it’s giving an undeniable and non-counterable advantage.
Next you’ll be saying it’s fine to glitch through a keep wall as it’s part of the game
It’s the players coming through who are invisible for the 5-10 secs as there are too many to load in at once due to the cap set by the culling system.
I’m not saying it’s the mesmer portal, again i was using it as an example, i’m saying it’s the culling mechanic and there are ways to purposely manipulate it to your own advantage which cause you and your party to be invisible while attacking.
I am curious though how you can think 30+ player that are forcing themselves to be invisible for 5-10sec is:
1. Intended as a game mechanic.
2. A normal tactical.
I play a thief
The one thing invisibility always has in common in all its skill sets.
Once you attack, you’re not invisible any more. What this does is allow you to attack while invisible for 5-10 seconds.
Is it intended for the players to be invisible when they do it? What I am describing is ways they achieve the invisibility, not the tactical reason for using them.
They can portal bomb all they like, but by them purposely doing it to be invisible and have a clear advantage is exploiting.
Nah, what they do is they have a group of 40. They place a mez portal down. Then send in a mez who doesn’t load to place an exit.
Once exit is up they jump through and aoe. By the time any of them show most people are dead.
When they defend they stand on the exit gate. At a single instance they all exit at the same time, AOE. Before they load in everyone is dead.
You could counter it if you could actually see them. But you simply can’t.
I understand the idea of culling, but when you purposefully try and achieve it so you are invisible then that is exploiting.
Can you stop exploiting the invisible player bug in WvW.
