You will probably get 15-20 fps in heavy wvw zergs. With a i5 3570k im running mid 30s in stonemist zergs with 100+ people.

The only places with that cpu you will have bad fps is wvw zergs, citys and large events everywhere else should be fine.

Your cpu and gpu are too slow for this game but I know you cant replace the whole system so I would suggest get windows 7 and upgrade to a 560ti and should help a little but in crowded areas your fps is still going to be bad.

how are you supposed to beat the recommended on gw2 when only the minimum were given? They really should have listed recommended requirements.

I bit the bullet and spent 500$ on upgrades to play this addictive game had I have known it was going to run like crap on my older system I probably wouldn’t have bought it.

But im hooked now so I did the upgrade.

If your getting between 25-50 fps on a Athlon duel core then i wouldn’t be complaining that`s really good for the chip.

Your computer will run the game but your frame rates will be awful in most areas.

I had to bite the bullet and buy a new board chip and ram i5 3570k because my amd chip was not cutting it. Amd isn’t really any cheaper anymore because I compared the two platforms and amd was only 15$ less and the piledriver chips are still not up to par and I wasn’t gonna waste money on crap performance for the same price basically.

if your only dropping to 30 as a low point then id say your doing great for this game.

I was looking at that same chip because the price on new egg was 130$ us and its a really good price but i was afraid it wouldnt be strong enough for gw2 so i opted for the i5 3570k but its more expensive for sure.

It cant hurt upgrading your gpu I agree the gtx 560ti it a good bang for your buck card.

That i3 is still better then any AMD chip out so its a great buy for a budget gaming rig.

game runs smoother for me with it on.

It`s pretty bad when you need a 3000 dollar system to run this game in WvW at 45 fps lol.

You can get a i5 3570k for about 70 bucks cheaper then that i7 and roughly the same performance.

Has anyone tested the new piledriver chips On this game they came out this week?

Mine was doing the same thing and turning off shadows and reflections stopped the freeze up now for 2 weeks.

No I meant 560ti because im not sure the 550ti will give you the performance boost your looking for.

If you are having poor fps when you are in events or WvW then its for sure the Cpu for pve a graphic upgrade should do well.

This game is all about the cpu so a video card wont make a huge difference.

But a gtx 560 ti should be fine and its not to expensive.

If I would have picked up the box and seen that at least I wouldn’t of wasted money on a game that runs bad in WvW because I would have known my computer was not good enough.

They really should have put recommended requirements on this game they had to know that most people who bought it were gonna have problems because of weak hardware but they just wanted that cash flow and who cares if people have crappy performance we already got your cash.

The post states they are only getting 3-4 fps so what do you think they are talking about.

To the Op sorry but the only thing you can do is get a new rig you can`t even upgrade anything that will make a difference.

I have a phenom 2 x4 965 and the only areas that run like crap are WvW and some of the cities spvp and pve i run anywhere from 35-60+fps however the main reason i got this game was because of WvW so for me it sucks but spvp runs just fine.

I will just have to waint until i can afford a new rig for WvW to run good.

Your gonna need a new system even with a 955 your still going to get bad frames in large WvW battles. I have a phenom 2 965 and i get around 15 in huge WvW battles.
Game runs like crap so if you have the cash get a new system.

I doubt it they are just waiting for everyone to go out and buy new computers then the problem will just go away.

Got a 10-15 fps increase from before setting shaders to high before they did nothing. Game seems smoother also. I was standing in lions arc was getting 30fps. When swiching to shaders from low to high fps went to 45fps high and 30 fps low did it in several areas and noticed an increase every time.

The new camera is much better i didn’t like it the other way.

I had that problem until I lowered my video settings turned off shadows and no more freezing.

This guy is trolling hard i think there is no way hes getting everything on ultra even in wow with his set up.

i found a i5 2500k with mainboard and ram for around 300 bucks the ram came free was some deal or something.

That intel kit looks terrible 300w ps? no way. Its cheap but 300 watts is not enough try getting the parts from newegg and get a corsair ps or something decent. Im not even sure about that mainboard in that kit never heard of that.

Well its nice to know i have to spend 300-400 bucks to upgrade if i wanna enjoy a 60$ game woot. I guess it will have to wait cant really afford to spend that atm.

I noticed mine were a bit better in wvw had 20fps instead of 15 in large fights, still really bad in black citadel tho.

That`s strange because I didn’t see any performance changes mentioned in the patch notes? I wonder if they are implementing them with out telling us?

Its a good game but I feel misled by the requirements on the box if i would have known my computer wasn’t gonna run this as good as I expected I would have never wasted my money. Looking at the requirements would lead me to believe I would have no issues running this game.
They should have said min system requirements I5 2500k or better processor and if you have amd don’t play this.

Id really hate to think they would be the same after the failure with the bulldozer chips.

why change your computer just for one game? I mean really those specs should run every other game out there fairly well and you have a am3+ motherboard so you have room to upgrade the chip later.

Even the fact amd is worse then intel it doesn’t make sense that a top amd chip like fx 8150 should be running wvw at 15fps. I get the same performance from a phenom 2×4 965 and thats a way older chip.

They should have just put in the requirements if you have AMD cpu dont buy this game what a waste of money. They had to know AMD cpus were gonna perform like crap but it makes no sense that a fx 8150 would perform that bad.

Yep noticed the same issue around stonemist.

Maybe your video card is taking a crapper. If you have a older one try installing that and see what happens.

Your right there is none lol. Well even more reason to be upset when it runs like crap because they didn’t even put it on the box oh well what ever live and learn if a company doesn’t list recommended specs don’t buy it.

I thought that was official until i looked around more and then looked at the box.

The thing is the recommended system requirements said nothing about needing a i5-i7 ivy bridge chip if they had most people could have spent 60$ on something else or at least the game wouldn’t have been a disappointment because you would have known you were gonna get crap performance.

his specs fall between the min and recommended specs it should be at least playable and 10 fps is not playable.

Probably not much you can do but upgrade im getting the same performance in WvW large battles as you and I’m running a phenom 965 looks like I`ll have to deal with it till i upgrade. Pve tho im getting 30-80+ and good in spvp too only WvW the frames suck.

It should run fine But WvW im not sure. When im out questing my gpu usage is above 90% so im not sure what the other poster is saying. Unless they are talking about WvW where my gpu drops to 30%.

Im not sugar coating anything, not everyone can go run out and buy a new rig just to play 1 60$ game I was just saying its playable with a 965 never said an intel was not a better choice.

That`s not entirely true I have a phenom 2 x4 965 and get anywhere from 30 to 80+fps in spvp and pve.The only areas that I have issues is large WvW and black citadel. But if you have the cash go for the Intel chip to eliminate any issues.

I would really recommend buying the parts and having some one assemble it for you. Pre built computers are mostly made with cheap parts with poor customer service, im sure you can find someone to help you out.

Your pc shouldn’t have a stink coming from it RMA it you could start a fire if your PSU is having a problem.

I seen a post from Anet employee stating they were aware of the fps issues and are looking into it so they know. Maybe it will take some time.

Tried on all low settings and still hardly any difference in frame rates maybe 3-5 increase.
