if you run the game on all high setting the graphics are really good
What settings can my computer run GW2 at ?

That chip is designed to be overclocked if you want top notch performance. Alot of the game benchmarks are with that being overclocked. Search on the web for overclocking tips for that specific cpu.
Also some of the lower teir servers have very slow wvw try one of the upper teir wvw servers.
you can try spvp if your looking for a battleground pvp style.
You can get an i5 3570k at new egg for 219.00 and its a solid chip.
Everyone gets lower fps then other games the optimization is not up to par atm.
Go with the intel i3 system the fx 4100 is junk for gaming. The older phenom series are better but still crap for wvw.

Same wish they would tell us something………
I think I seen the same mesmer in eb we were trebbing a tower and all the walls were up and then we seen people inside killing the lord and there was no way they could have gotten in. The tower was with TC for atleast 30mins.
I like the gear farm. So, just no pvp gear.
The fact that you need to OC a modern i5/i7/ cpu to run this game really well is downright shameful something is really wrong with that.
4.5ghz i7(oc), gtx670(oc) , 20 fps in DWE's.

I can spike 100% on my i5 3570k but only one core hits that even on my phenom it never hit that much on all cores. I agree with the other posters to look for other things eating cpu usage.
If your crashing at 4.3 then you need more volts but please read a guide you don’t want to ruin your cpu.
Planetside 2 runs pretty well on my laptop that has a core2 duo and a gtx260m even during big battles and its playable about15- 20fps min but guild wars 2 goes as low at 4fps in wvw and not playable and very choppy so It looks like planetside 2 is less demanding then gw2.
I would stick with that intel build saving 50$ for a terrible fx4100 is not worth it a phenom 2×4 965 is better then that and its older. My overclocked phenom at 4 ghz only gave me 12fps in WvW zerg battles now i have a i5 3570k a 4ghz and i get 30+ fps in the same size battles.

Can one of these computers run GW2 Highest

I don’t think any of those systems are going to run WvWvW at acceptable frame rates the fx 4100 is a horrible gaming cpu If your going with a desktop then get a intel 2500k or better.
The older generation phenom 2s are better then that fx series cpu.
If you must go AMD atleast get one of the newer piledriver series cpus.
I have a i5 3570k a 4ghz and min fps on the largest zergs in stonemist were 25fps but the average was in the low 30s.
I would say a OC`ed 2nd or 3rd gen i5/i7 and a 500 series nvidia card or equivalent amd card and min 8gigs ram.
Yea like the other poster said your probably better off saving up for a better setup if you do any WvW you will be very sad as the frames on a phenom got down to 12fps in just 30vs30 man fights at 4ghz and forget zergs in stomemist gave me a headache.
I can say the i5 3570k is a really good cpu and you will not be dissapointed in its performance.
Go with the phenom if your comparing the two you listed. I don’t know why people are going on about duel core is better in this situation or that because the OP asked about guild wars 2 and the two chips listed not i3 or other modern intel or AMD chips.
Get good cooling and overclock that 965 and you should get playable frame rates. WvW will still run like crap in huge zergs but everything else will be good.

200$ for speakers keyboard and mouse? You know how to cut cost 50$ for a motherboard? Better to spend the money on the motherboard then speakers and keyboards. And like the other poster said why waste money on a cooler for an i3 at stock when it can be spent on other things.
Well your best option would be an i5 or i7 intel but if you don’t want to get another motherboard get one of the piledriver cpus that just came out they have a bit better performance.
you need a better processor the buldozer chips are terrible for gaming.
For a good laptop that will run gw2 well your going to have to spend atleast 1000$ unless you happen across some black friday deal. Anything lower and its probably low quality parts.

Run core temp or real temp to see what your chip is running at.
Great price but you can only pick up in store and if you don’t live in one of those states then bummer for you.

Overheating and or failing graphic card maybe, try checking your temps when playing the game.

WvW is dependent mostly on the CPU you can have a low end graphic card and still get good fps if your CPU is strong.
New rig for GW2, seeking 120fps mark in WvW

You wont get 120fps in large WvW battles with the best cpu/gpu on the market. And WvW is cpu dependent so really the gpu is a non factor.
3570k runs hotter but it was cheaper so I went with that one and Im glad i pick this over AMD such a difference over my amd system if you have the money go intel.
make sure your laptop is set to high performance. and specs please as maybe even that wont help.
Try overclocking your chip to around 4ghz it should help some but you will still dip low in huge zergs around 15fps with that processor.
Post your system specs so people can help because the minimum requirements are only to just barely run the game.
I agree the windows score is not a good benchmark. My phenom 2×4 965 gave roughly the same score as my i5 3570k in gaming and its like night and day playing guild wars 2 no comparison 965 vs 3570k at all the intel chip is so much smoother then the AMD chip.
Your laptop seems more then enough to run this game and the others mentioned just fine at medium settings atleast. You must have some other problems going on with your system.
I have a laptop with lower specs then yours and can play pve in gw2 at around 30-40fps and skyrim at around 60fps with vsync.
Will my computer be able to run the game?

My asus laptop with a core 2 duo and gtx 260m can play pve at around 30-40 fps but forget wvw i get around 5 fps in zergs with it if that gives you any idea on what you need to play.
sounds like heat. Try opening your laptop and blowing out the dust with some compressed air. Careful not to tilt the can too much so liquid doesn’t come out onto the components.
Hi. recommendations on upgrading my hardware?

Overclock your cpu and update your graphics card. Make sure you watch your temps if you overclock and if they get to high you might need a better cooler.
You can get an i3 that will give you better gaming performance for the same price as that fx chip.
If your going to go AMD at least get a piledriver or a phenom 2 they are even better then the bulldozer series chips.
most places i look the 3570k is cheaper then the 2500k or 2550k chips. 3570k is a solid choice.
I run chrome all the time and leave it open playing guildwars2 and so far no crashing so Im not sure its chrome.
You need a new computer that old amd chip will choke on this game.
I lag, Can my system run the game? (System below)

Thats a budget cpu so I wouldn`t expect it to run this game well, It`s very cpu demanding.
new egg has a i3 2120 for 124$
Never OC your chip using amd overdrive its much better to do it in the bios settings.
Switching from AMD FX-4170 to FX-8350 useful?

I haven’t had it drop lower then lower 30s with 100+ players.
last night three servers were fighting in stomemist with easy 150 players and it never got below 30 and still looked smooth.
(edited by alphacentari.7692)
Yes get an i5 you wont regret it I upgraded to an i5 3570k from a phenom 2×4 965 and its soo much better and smoother then before.
I can actually play WvW with out getting a headache because of crappy 10fps zergs now i get 30-40 fps in huge zergs.

If you already have the 200$ for that 8350 then just save a bit more for an i5 3570k and board Amd are fail for gaming you probably wont get much better performance from 4170 vs 8350 in gw2 at all.
I switched from amd to intel and no comparison at all for gaming this game runs smooth as silk even in 100+ wvw zergs.
