Dear Anet
I know you do your best with your limited manpower to ban botting accounts reported by in-game players. But I believe the process could be optimized by reporting botting areas (server & coordinates), instead of botting-characters.
When a player reports a botting-character, you must use manpower (time & money) to make the demanded investigation to make sure you have sufficient evidence for an account ban. That’s a necessary process to avoid banning of innocent players and to make sure all the legal stuff have been followed.
But if in-game players reported a botting-area, a single Anet employee could get to that botting-place and start recording an evidence video and ban those accounts instantly. At the end of the day, even in a court, whose words weigh more? Hundreds of random in-game players that theoretically could report any other players they just mislike, or an official Anet supervisor? Anet has no interest in closing a legitim account when that’s their income source. So when they decide to ban an account, it’s because of the players abuse and violation of the agreements.
I have experinced, that the botting occurs in an extended time frame. Eg. in Frostgorge Sound, at Yakkingtons Toil, I came a cross botting-characters saturday night (around 22:00) and they were still there the next day (sunday 12:00). I believe they will be there even longer. So there would be enough time for Anet to “send” an employee to that spot and start banning.
I’m sure I speak on behalf of all legitim players (paying costumers) that we feel scr***d [pardon :-) ] every time we encounter cheaters of any kind.
