It’s really unfortunate that GoM has to react the way that they did to a legit concern. All StoneMist defenders did was build arrow carts. Literally, and while the FC group was “walking around destroying siege” there must’ve been 10 or 12 cannons shut down.

Listen, there’s nothing wrong with giving yourself an advantage. You’ve identified that your players are smaller guilds in the posts above, and have less experience, and skill in actually using builds, and playing the game. So I don’t understand what the argument is?

GoM has in no exact words made reference to their inability to put together teams, and even in their screen shots, it took them three commanders to keep track of what seemed to be a small group when GoM is considered. Let’s be honest, if there isn’t 50 or 60 people rolling down the hill, GoM has significant trouble in those clashes.

We all need to relax. Siege is a handicap. It’s pretty much written in the book. You can build machines capable of doing significant damage over a large area, and you can place them anywhere. If that isn’t significant assistance, I don’t know what is.

So let’s all just have fun, GoM needs that tactic, and they use it well. FC uses skill, and strategy due to their lesser numbers than most servers. It’s two different ways of playing. I’m sure if FC had the numbers that GoM does, they’d be in a much higher tier just due to the amount of strategy, and cohesion they’ve had to develop being outmanned all the time.

You sir, are one of the more hilarious (read: ridiculous) trolls I’ve seen in a while.

• No one said anything about an “inability to put together teams”. We’ve just stated that we don’t have any desire to. Now if we run into you out in the field, you can bet your kitten we’ll fight you, assuming it’s reasonable.

• Being in a smaller guild has absolutely nothing to do with a player’s skill. My guild is smaller in size, but we have a lot of skilled players and we’re always improving, or as you put it increasing our “skill in actually using builds, and playing the game.”

• The FC zergs I’ve seen are just as big, if not bigger than GoM zergs I’ve been in (leveling an alt – Zergtastic!). Overall I’d say it’s pretty even.

• Making blanket statements about a server’s skill his both absurd and completely impossible to prove. I honestly can’t remember dying to any less than 3 FC in the last few months. Does that mean FC’s players are all bad? No. Does that mean I’m the best player on GoM or represent the overall skill of GoM in any way? No. Have I had to run away to avoid dying if I realize I’m losing/messed up/whatever? Absolutely. Is it possible I have died to a single FC player and just don’t remember it? Of course.

• As others have stated, an intended game mechanic is not a handicap. In fact, it’s a pretty big part of the strategy you refer to FC having. Using the tools at your disposal in an intelligent way is all part of effective strategy.

All that said, having fun with FC/AR.

So, I was told that there was an FC zerg attack our SM. The SM we have held for like, over a month basically. ANet needs to rename it Madness Castle. SM is a misnomer at this point. What I found when I left the BL though was not an FC Zerg, but rather a disjointed harem of monkeys flipping about in omegas like they had any business knocking on our front door. FC, please don’t come unannounced. As you noticed, we wipe the floor with intruders. Some of us seem to take the Castle Doctrine (see what I did there? RL Laws vs GW2 TROLOLOLOL) seriously. I’m fine with politely telling you the same thing I tell the Mormons who knock on my door “Pedal (Golem in your case) away fast because I like naughty words and you don’t want me angry little man/men”.

I applaud you guys on trying to take SM. Good onya. Its only Sunday though. Don’t get your hopes up that youll muster much awesome by Friday. Keep in mind the limitations of your server. GoM has a crew for ALL three shifts, and I happen to have a wonky schedule allowing me to work almost all three shifts.

GG man, i wish i could learn to use AC’s like you, im sure we coudl take FC to tier 1 with that. Next time try using some actual tactics in the open field and see how you do. And if you reall do think you have superior tactics, try GvGing [Deth] with equal numbers WITHOUT siege and see how you kittening do.

And don’t pretend ACs are cheap, learn to buy one. (I’ll mail you 6 silver if you need it.) Keeping siege up and keeping it manned is a tactic. When five people (what we had in SM when your attack started) are defending a tower/keep/castle, ACs aren’t just smart, they’re imperative. Sorry. Thats a big word. They’re REALLY important. A well placed set of ACs can wipe your silly little omegas. Remember last week when SF sent 40 Omegas on us and we still kept SM? How did we do it? Magic? Voodoo? Hacking? Tom Foolery? I’ll hand that one off to another game I enjoy and my favorite toon Lux: “With superior tactics!”

Yeaahhhhhh…. That started out just me being drunk in pangloss… I threw down 4 ballistas, 6 ACs, a treb, a golem, and then rams as the walls of a fort. Then started singing/yelling, “FORT PANGLOSS!~” in our TS. Then one of our leaders almost tripped over my fort walls. SOOOO he extended the Great Wall of Rams all the way to SM and then to AP.
THEN! The alpha golem wasn’t enough to be the Fort Pangloss Lord so I built an Omega >:D What can I say? The silliest things happen when booze is involved

There’s haters in every forum I guess. Here’s a minute from last night, more to come. Maybe you weren’t leading this group? This is the third time GoM came back. When you still had FC’s keep with a waypoint, you can see the orange swords at the keep still on the map so you were probably over there if you’re a commander.

Full queue on a map running in one place, using no combat tactics aside from strength in numbers and trebbing from a distance. That’s the zerging meta the game just naturally encourages, strength in numbers, it’ll change though once organized groups start running through pug groups every day. Don’t take it as an insult our server does it too.

I planned for the worst with the arrow cart. sorry I overestimated you I guess. Play it safe over everything, our goal was to not die tonight and we did pretty well. Didn’t have our full group wipe once. ;D Farmed GOM for about 200 kills in durios. First when we came in behind them and stole their cap, and the few waves after that. xD

Ran into the semi organized FC group a few times, some deth and worm members. Was fun working around you and killing them pugs, xD too bad GOM ruined the fun.
Sorry to the Deth necro who just wanted his EB JP, when we saw both inner and outer down we couldn’t resist the 30 second keep steal. ;D

Karma! I love karma…. Actually did well against a few zergs, that FC 40-60 man zerg was crazy. Capped a bunch of camps, a few towers and nearly got bay twice, too bad we were WAY out numbered.

I guess GoM stayed home today, no one but us on FC and then when we switched to DR there was only 10 others.

You must have missed the six hours up until this where we consistently wiped your trebs/group, and capped everything but your bay and held/upgraded it. I believe we switched to our up levels for exp train at this point though, so that’s why we went for the trebs, they were worth more wxp than you guys were by that time.

Switched to uplevels? Right… I still found it funny watching those two [DDLG] rushes fail so spectacularly to even dent a treb.

The waypoint in hills and your paper everything else didn’t give it away? Man you missed it big, we held your map up until about 10-11pm est. You guys were getting rolled all NA prime time in your map. I believe we took your garrison back seven or eight times.
