AOE Loot on Interact bugged

It seems there is a problem there where if you keybind to any other key than “F” and also check the box “AOE on interact” on the options, it won’t work.

I did this:

Let the box UNCHECKED, but binded “C” for AoE loot. Now “F” works as a normal interact/loot and “C” works as AoE loot. And it has been working fine since i did this.

Hi Ahsley thank you for looking into this issue.
Sorry for my ignorance, but what is “ISP” and “GA”?

My guildmates have been reporting that they are experiencing too much lag since the latest big patch from 25th june. Though, i don’t know if it is actually related to the patch per se, or just coincidence.

The time is always a timeframe from 20:00 – 00:00 (GMT -3:00) (I think this is actually 16:00-20:00 PDT) when there are more people online.

If you look at other games, you’d see that achievements are not really for demonstrating any skills one player has or has not.
Devs put them as a way of addicting people to the game, by subtly inducing a feeling of satisfation, of achievement by several ways. That is why they put so manyy kinds of stupid achievements like slayers. Because don’t matter how you like to play the game, or don’t matter where you do it, you will always get the same results predicted by the developers: ADDICTION.
And that is why they put achievements in daily quests also.

But sincerely, this is a bad way of engaging players or earn commitment to the game because you keep playing the game not by its quality or fun, but because you are addicted.

I you call daily tasks achievements, then there is no achievement at all….everything you do is an achievement thus removing the purpose and the meaning of the word.

Well, starting from the next release, we won’t need to be worried anymore. There won’t be any reason to search for these boring pirates or holograms. After all, we will have only ONE reason to do the achievements, and don’t matter how you get the points, what you will want is THAT SHINY REWARD! So you can keep tracking all your bluberries on the map, or killing defenseless wasps, or powerful dragons, or even your guild mates on PvP! everything for the shiny rewards. No reason to do any achievements anymore.

Next event i wont even bother with the “Kill 250 whatever mob they put”. After all, i can get that point by doing dailies. But wait, they will put a mini as a rewardfor completing 15 boring achievements again! oh, that could be so cool! # but no

nah, okay. You guys don’t give a kitten about achievements anyways. No reason to discuss. Whatever their decision, you are going to be after the rewards not after the achievements specifically.

I don’t even know why arena net created an achievement system to begin with.
They don’t tell nothing. They could just put a reward system like:

X reward for 1 week of continuous gameplay
Y reward for 1 month
Z reward for 1 year

Why differentiate 1000 WvW kills from gathering 1000 blueberries?
After all, you should play the way you like!

I don’t give a kitten about the points, but i care for the achievements.
I will keep doing them, even if they don’t give me any points, because i think they are fun and its a different challenge to increase gameplay experience and fun.

However, if i was after farming points to earn specific rewards, i shouldn’t be running achievements, but dailies or other stuff. Why would i try to achieve something really challenging to earn the same points that i can get by gathering 20/20?

You guys didn’t get the point i think.
Theres absolutely no problem in having people with 120k achievement points and getting lots of rewards more than people who just started playing now.

The issue is: Why is this called achievement points when you can find lots of people who didn’t achieved nothing but have tons of achievement points?
They can do their dailies or play in WvW forever, never do a Jumping Puzzle, or Guild challenge, nor killing a Dragon, and yet he will have tons of “Achievement points”?? thats not something i would call appropriate for a MMORPG at the least.

Achievements are supposed to be registration of player’s acts instead of their time.

And even if they reach a static number getting all points in the game that are possible to earn (without daylies etc) they wouldn’t be forced to do things they don’t like.
ANET consistently keeps adding more content and achievements for them people to earn. Besides, they can still do PvE normally, achievements are not the only focus or objetive while playing, but something to increase fun and challenge in gameplay and that is why i think they should not reward people who just do the same thing ever with achievements.

Even so, they can be rewarded for their commitment anyways.

Oh, and the reason why i would like to see people with a high number of real achievement points is simple:
To identify possible people that have the same interests than you, and people that could probalbly help you in a difficult task that you are trying to achieve instead of only looking for guides and playing alone. I think this is a good reason for it.
At least this is the way i have seend in all other games and MMO’s i have played before and i liked them this way.

I’m ok with dailies givin people great rewards and all, specially in the long term. But, achievements?!

How will i know if someone has lots of achievement points because he is a player who do great adventures, challenges and difficult tasks or if he is a player who have been played for a long time and did lots of dailies and simple events?

I think players who accept great challenges and adventures should be rewarded DIFFERENTLY from the players who only do Daylies or WvW, so that other players could identify them and recognize their efforts.

This is what achievements are for. If they were only for points, or to show others how many time you have in game, then you should not call it achievements but instead, something different like Veteran Points, Activity Points, Commitment Points or whatever.

I really like the idea of rewardin people who are commited to the game, whatever their playstylle is. Im not an elitist or selfish. But different things must be treated differently.

Yes, i just mentioned wiki in case you don’t know about that.

And yes again, Mind Spike is now a crappy skill because i would prefer to keep my phantasms alive doing damage over time than shattering them. Even if there is only one target. besides, phantasms can be set as targets by your enemy, saving your HP, while if you shatter them you would be the only target.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say. The autoattack for mainhand sword has absolutely nothing to do with shattering clones or phantasms.

I think he misunderstood and thought i was referring to mind wrack(F1 shatter) since mesmer have so many ‘mind’ attacks, (Mind Spike/Mind stab/Mind slash/Mind Gash/Mind Blast) and he seems to be a phantasm mesmer.

Mind Spike is the 3rd hit on the sword auto attack just for clarification sake.

Exactly…sorry for the mistake.
Mind wrack is probably working fine, but my thoughts about it still applies.
Concerning mind spike, i need to check again to see if this happens to me either.

NO man, didnt you read the posts? I alone have picked up a specific area in diessa plateau for example. Did about 10 holograms. None of them spawned aetherblades.
Even so, i have interacted with all of them for them to spawn again, hoping the next time they spawn, they could have pirates spawned.
After finishing the holograms (i have killed some, but other i just let live and ran away), i did guesting on 2 other servers and repeated the process on the same holograms.

After this, i came back to the first server and new holograms had spawned. However, none of them spawned pirates again. Went to the second and third server, the problem persisted….

Conclusion: THERE IS A PROBLEM.
After 2 hours of frustrating attempts, i went to vexxas lab on the cache’s aetherblades and farmed them with a little help from a friend. Otherwise i would still be looking for them on the ascalon maps….

Guild Ranks and Inviting Members

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

brunobyof.3541

Totally agree
I would also add the possibility / obligation to send in game mail or any other kind of message to the guild leaders , informing them that a new member was added by X player. This would help the guild leaders keeping track of the new people on the guild, as well as managing new ranks and functions for all of them.

The same goes for downranking people in the guild. Only Leaders and highly ranked members should be able to do so and all of them should be informed when someone downrank other member and the reason to do so.

Inviting people is a common, fast and incredibly efficient way of creating and improving social experience withing the game, and thus, should be encouraged for all ranks in the guilds, except when the guild leaders decide differently, for any reason like creating a specific group with very specific conditions or interests.

Most guilds have a pretty varied mix of interest, even when the guild has a clearly stated focus like WvW or PvE missions etc. That i think, its because people want to interact with each other and form groups more for the social experience than the objectives at all.
I know that there are always people who want to form specific groups, or even to play alone, but this wouldn’t hurt those people, since they would still be able to do so.

To put it simple: Its a very good way to improve guild mechanics without hurting gameplay experience IMO.

Wouldn’t you agree?

Considering this would affect every guild in the game, I really wish to know about the devs thought on this, even if you don’t agree with the above.

Guys, cmon give yourselves a little bit of time to think what you’re saying.

Can anyone answer what are achievements for?
Why they need to be related to any kind of points in first place?
If they will exist only to get some kind of reward in game, then why dont call it tokens, or “commitment points” or whatever other kind of name you want?

Thats not about jealousy, or the lack of haven the first job. its logics.

So now we will have to use laurels for endgame gear, karma for recipes, gold for cosmetics, and…achievement points for cute rewards not yet revealed???

Cmon, this isn’t right. You guys that actually have 10k points of achievements, you deserve 1 million golds, respect, you are the best, congratulations!

But tell me, do you think that doing the same gathering and other boring and easy tasks everyday can be called an achievement? pfff

Achievements. Your thoughts?

in Bazaar of the Four Winds

Posted by: brunobyof.3541

brunobyof.3541

I agree that people must be rewarder retroactively for the Achievement points they already won. However, they should loose the points earned from common events or daylies and turn them into some other currency, different from Achievement points.

Its not a real achievement doing lots of runs on WvW for example. You complete events without even being intended to. You do should be rewarded for this because you spent time playing and maybe even aimed to complete them. But not with achievement points.

AAchievements should be only achievements with no points at all. I mean, each one gives you 1 achiement only. The actual system of rewarding points is not even accurate. One cannot for example judge the skills nor the time of gameplay from another player just lookin at how many points they have.
There is no reason to make it so that one achievement earn you more points than other, except if you turn them “spendable” like they are doing.

However, by doing this, you are neglecting the reason achievement exists in first place.

I assume you’re talking about minis—so suggest a solution for minis, not one that basically invalidates the whole banking system. Things like banks, merchants, trading post NPCs and crafting stations exist in order to make cities meaningful places where players congregate.

Not to mention that access to bank/crafting outside of the NPCs is a Gem Store-related priviledge.

I didn’t know about that…. So basicaly they want you to PAY for a more smooth and fast way to play the game, or just suffer the consequences…..this is ridiculous.

Buying a mini, skin or infinite axe could be fun but it doesn’t affec gameplay so much.

Im not invalidating anything. Im jsut saying that if theres a conection between the player and the bank which permits you to send thing to it, then why not retrieving things from it?

I actually agree with you but, also can’t say that i really congregate in cities. Do you?
Whenever i need something from the bank i think : “Oh no, i need to teleport there, walk for a bit, just to get to the selection screen, and then teleport back to a waypoint near the place i was in the first place.”

Just seeing people there doing random things in Lion’s Arch is not exactly what i call “congregate”. And whenever me or my guildies want to congregate, we do so in any place, not just there.

So basically, banks are useful, but it do DOESN’T NEED TO BE the only way to retrieve things you have stored.

Besides, all these events are taking place in Lion’s Arch and all major cities, and this alone can be a good reason to visit them and “congregate”.

You just need to subtract the achievement points earned by doing events and daylies that are not suposed to exist in the first place. And keep the points that should.

And for players don’t complain about their many hours lost because they spent them only to earn points (which obviously isn’t true), simply change these points into some other kind of reward.

So, you basically want to make it impossible for PvP or WvW-only people to ever unlock the rewards?

There are extremely few ways to get achievement points in WvW, other than daily/monthly, and those that you can get takes ages.
Same with PvP really.

No man, thats not what we want. If you like to spend your time in GW2 playing only WvW, it should be ok, and there you should be properly rewarded as well as a player that only do PvE or any other that do both.

The thing is: Different tasks should reward you different things. Daylies are completely different from achievements, and completely different from WvW kills for example or taking keeps

There are few ways on WvW yes, but there you should be able to earn some things that PvE-only players will never unlock, and vice-versa.
It should encourage people of doing every kind of gameplay.

If not this way, people won’t have fun completing a difficult task just to have it done, because there will be other ways to earn these same points, but much easier, losing the meaning of achievement, you understand it now?

There are lots of people who spend huge amounts of time doing boring things just to have a “differential” from the average players, something to make them feel a completionist, or a powerfull or active player, or a really adventurer player.

But with the actual system of rewards for daylies, this goes to trash and turn achievements into something trivial like earning gold or karma, where you just need to do the same things you like, or the things that you can do faster, and have a lucrative activity in-game. But wait, there is already several ways of doing this!

I don’t understand why anyone is worried about what someone else has. Look at the awards, see which one you really want, and how many points you need to get there. Then start making progress. That’s all that should matter.

In GW1, when HoM launched, no one asked for an achievement reset or cried foul that some became easier or harder over time. Players didn’t make it a competition and try to take progress away from each other to improve their chances of being the first to 50/50. For the most part, the entire community just helped each other along so everyone could reach their goal.

Odds are someone will get it before you. Odds are you will also get it before a lot of other people. But that has no bearing either way.

There is no trophy for getting there first.

Why would you want to take away some arbitrary thing from someone else, that they may enjoy or feel they made a significant effort towards, just so you can feel like you have a chance to get it faster than a crowd of people that will never know or care? Just in general, that’s just a horribly flawed disposition.

Its just that everyone set life standards for them based on actual experience and observation. Thats all a sistematic way that humans do to live in group instead of being just animals like any other in the wilds.

People want to come to another and say: “Hey look how many achievement points i got!” or “Chck this reward i got” or even “Oh my, this achievment took me ages to complete! but now i have a feeling of satisfaction”

Well that’s a subtle way of saying “hey, everyone should lose some points so only people like me stay above the threshold!”

Jarate off.

Exactly. There seem to be some people who think dailies and monthlies shouldn’t be awarding achievement points because in their opinion they’re not achievements.

I hope ANet changes the name of points to Activity Points, Reward Points, Arenanet Points or whatever else, so that they stop whining about dailies not being real achievements. Getting real tired of all this needless fuss about who deserves stuff and who doesn’kittens

just illogical. If you create achievement points, but then reward people with them for doing 20 gatherings everyday, then you are being ingeuous. Specially if you call this an achievement.

You seem to just want to earn someee points and shiny things and don’t bother about logics and stuff right? okay you have your point, fair enough. But then simply don’t make it here and complain about people’s complains….it is just idiot.

Besides, we don’t want people that already earned tons of Achievement points from daylies to simply loose them. Instead, they should turn them into “Activity Points” or something else, because they are not achievements at all, but im not saying daylies don’t deserve or don’t need to be rewarded by any other means.

Items:
-Use colours to distinguish item’s names that are junk, or trophies, or crafting mats; just like wearable or usable items; For example: Grey for junk, Brown for Trophy etc. It would help a lot while managing inventory, selling and all. Specially for new players who don’t have a clue about what they should with each pieace of drop they have.

Collectibles:
-If we can send collectibles to the personal stash wherever you are, why don’t let us be able to retrieve them from there also? There were several times when i accidentaly send to stash things that i didn’t want to because i wasn’t aware that they would vanish from my inventory as well as other collectible items. And then i couldn’t retrieve them from there.

Gameplay:
-Make a BIGGER icon for the button that send you out from dungeons or other instances. I was frustrated when i wanted to leave them but couldn’t figure it out.

-Make a way out from WvW apart from getting back to the portal or loggin out of the game. Its so simple to get in there, with the icon in the upper bar and the sub options there, but we don’t have such simplicity when you want to leave the battlefields….

Achievements:
-Make Earning an achievement something Awesome, with something feeeling like an explosion on the screen, with huge, shiny visual and sound effects, but still without crashing the gameplay experience.

-Don’t reward daily and monthly quests with achievement points. Instead, raise the gold reward for it. This will encourage people to do it every day, but also keep achievement points system safe from a crash in the near future due to older players having tons of AP’s, and persistently getting more and more percentage of AP from daily quests and events than the actual achievements.

-Make so that we can track more achievements than just 5. Or even better: Make us able to put Event Achievements, Daily, Monthly, Hero etc that are being tracked separately on the screen, so that we can easily check upon them instead of removing some to add others.

Social:

-Make a system like Looking for Group or Looking for Dungeon in-game. There’s actually a website doing this job due to the lack of this system, which obviously make me feel like: “Why the hell didn’t they do this yet?”

-Show all emote commands on the /? command screen, so that everyone can easily know all of them. It should increase the “Fun Bar” and make grouping with other people something more than just completing a dungeon or group event.

I can think of more suggestions, but i think that’s all for now. There is a lot to think and do here i believe.

I hope at least some of them actually reaches in-game reality!

After all, in the real life, you don’t earn nothing special for doing the same thing everyday.

No, you earn a paycheck. You then save up money, from said paycheck, to buy “something special”.

When i say somthing special, i mean something that cannot be bought, off course.
Altough somethings that can be bought could be called “special” also.

I mean, things like respect, titles, aknowledgement, love, and things like that.

To put it simple: GW2 is not a Job, it is supposed to be a game. The actual system is turning into something more like a job IMO. You are supposed to go every day, do the same things (even though, you can do something else), earn points (money), buy something you need/want and “be happy”.

Balancing the points is indeed a secondary request. Thats not so important.
But putting rewards for achievement points sets a new scenario in which daily quests should not make part of.
An achievement should be earned for an achievement, not for any dayli basis gameplay. Well, sometimes you can earn some point by long term simple gameplay, like finishing the personal story, fully exploring an area or the entire world. But not for gathering the same blueberries everyday for 1 year….

The idea is to encourage people venture into the depths of the game instead of doing the same thing ever. that’s the very reason for the achievement system to exist at all.

Lets figure it out:
Player A plays the game for 1 year doing only WvW runs
Player B plays the game for 1 year foing only PvE
Player C plays the game doing both

Which one should earn the most achievement points?
None. Both players should be able to complete great things in whatever they were playing, but the player who put himself into the most dangerous, hidden, tortuous ways, should earn more poiints than the player who only did map exploration or took camps in WvW….

Likewise, new players should be able to get even more AP’s than the players that have been playing for a long time, if they invest their time in those huge tasks.

After all, in the real life, you don’t earn nothing special for doing the same thing everyday.

Achievement points in this game sounds more like a system to measure HOW the game is being played rather than actually reward players who really spent their time on a long term adventure, exploration, battle, event or whatever objective they do for a really HARD TO ACHIEVE deed.
What is the point for Daily achievements? this is ridiculous. You guys should learn and improve things. Take WoW as an example of how Achievements System should work.
They look awesome. Every achievement you get give you the feel of a real achievement, not an obligation on a daily basis to earn some laurel.

Want to reward people for anything they do? ok thats fair enough, but you could spend time on WvW for example and earn achievement points for really great achivements, and lots of it.

100% world exploration? Lots of point and a Title to make you feel a little bit rewarded at the least.

What would be the motivation for one to get achievement points if not to be differentiated from the average player? I can spend a lot of time exploring the world or investing in a huge task, just to get a little bit points. On the other hand, one can simply do daily quests and earn the same points? oh….no, thats not right.

Daily quests should earn you LAURELS, GOLD, ITEM REWARDS, KARMA etc NOT ACHIEVEMENT POINTS. It sounds like you are trying to make “one more day playing the game is an achievement”

Starting with this new system’s release, achievement points will turn into a “currency”. This is just absurd.
people will FARM achievements for the rewards. Please don’t let this happen

I bet this new “movement skills” mentioned is more like a swiftness buff while doing a jumping puzzle.

Mesmer Mind Spike bug

As of patch released on 25th june:
Mesmer:

•Mind Spike: Reduced the base damage by 20%. This skill does an additional 50% damage to targets with no boons.

This Bug is reported also on the WIKI:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mind_Spike
They must have swapped the parameters of the skill on the patch and put the wrong one….

It should be +50% dmg on TARGETS with no boons, and not +20% dmg on target if YOU have no boons.

Aetherblades not spawning

It seems this problem is occuring specifically on Ascalon Maps. I had Diessa plateau, Plains of Ashford and Fields of Ruins all explored yesterday, not only on my homeworld but also alternating within 2 other guest servers, but the problem persisted. I had only 1 aetherblade spawned from holograms in a 2 hours farm!

I first thought it could be linked to many people ignoring the “non-aetherblade” holograms, and then i kept activating them and then running to the next, in order to make them respawn shortly. Did this server swap several times but everytime i was back on the holograms, none of them spawned….

The only solution i found to catch my ascalon aetherblades achievement was venturing on the vexxa’s lab, wich spawns mobs lvl 70, but i am only lvl 53, so i was very unhappy about this. I could barely reach the Jumping Puzzle at all, since the area is filled with high level mobs. They should remove this threat for lowbies. If weren’t for some helpful people in there, i was going to be unsucessful in my attempts.

I did this puzzle 2 times on this week and i fell several times. Sometimes, i was transported to the golem, but sometimes i fell all the way down to the ground and consequently died. However, i haven’t been banned for this also.
Perhaps those guys were banned for another reason

I just want that effin achievement bar filled ! But i need money.
Its like doing something repetitively everyday and everyday, just to find out that one day, you just won’t be able to do that again because you don’t have enough money….is FRUSTRATING
Put the bets on 50COPPER now!

I believe so. After all, despite i’m a freaky completionist and need only this crappy achievment to complete all achievments from dragon bash event, i don’t even have the money to get this one….I’ve been playin this game for about 2 weeks now, and i was able to gather around 3,5g which is clearly insufficent money to grant me 3/3 wins….I wonder how in the world am i supposed to spend 2 weeks of gameplayon this and even so don’t getting any assurance that i would win the achievment?
Please, make this achievement cheaper or simply remove it from the game….
