This RAID feels like doing Mark golem II excepto for the fact that when someone get down, the entre group wipe.
The waiting should not occur since this content is only for guilds. There is no raids on lfg for a reason. They think everybody got a skilled group on their guild to run this RAID.
The raids dont need to be nerfed,but theres gotta be an easier mode for ppl who cant do it. Every fugging MMO hás different difficulties on raids
There was no RAID in gw2 until now, i can think of lots of ppl who dont actually knows how it should work and is trying to adapt as they ruin every squad group on lfg
I agree with the op. I mean i think that should be possible but only IF people dont get downed. And that is why most ppl cant get this boss done, including me (120+ attempts ). I usually dont get down with my mesmer until 2 or 3 more are downes on the 5th phase mainly but i feel that the real problem with low DPS is actually downed people and/or wrong gearing.

e i couldnt find a group neither on guild nor withing pugs which could beat this w/o ppl getting downes by seekers, green aos or whatever reason.
I do think that IF we had noob mode for this, and a decente lfg tool, we could find a skilled group to try this out more easily.
But i think only lucky ppl who gets into a skilled group or guildmates who can persistently correct their errors can do this right now. Sad
My guildmates which weren’t affected are now making fun of this issue, saying that certainly ANET won’t fix this at all and this thread would perish into the void of eternity as they internally say: “oh, let them all redo the maps in one week and that’s good”.
I know you guys are not doing this, but please say that you have actually discovered what caused this and what you are trying to do to solve the problem, even if you don’t have an ETA for some fix.

What is happening?
After the map completion bug fix patch, i’ve just relogged and all the Waypoints are gone, AGAIN!
All the waypoints, POI, HP, VB, AB, TD, Map completion in the new maps are All gone.. =(

I’ve seen people complain this as well, about the impossibility to use the specialization. Actually all content from expansion was lost, including achievements, story, but then, after patch, all this went back to normal, except the exploration.
I was using 32-bit and my friends 64-bit, so this is not exclusive for any of them.
it happened to me and my guildmates while we were on fractals. Then, all stuff went back to normal after patch except map exploration. The maps are blur as if we didn’t even touched it, but if you go by silverwastes and acces the 1st Wp of verdant brink, you’ll see that your hero points are counting as collected as well as the masteries and strongboxes, achievements, story progress etc…all except map exploration( POI’s, Vistas and Waypoints).
I was with 100% exploration on verdant brink and auric basin, 100% of tangled depths (except the mastery with the champion in the poison), and almost 100% in Dragon’s stand….i am REALLY upset about it because it took me and my friends all these days to actually get all the POIs, vistas etc…and now its all gone…besides we can’t even do the events on the other maps without the waypoints we had….
Other than that, i have had reported an early bug in which my character , who already had 100% central tirya exploration) wasn’t getting the cache for map completion on any of the expansion maps.
i hope all this get fixed ASAP.

I just re-installed the game since months without playing it to see the news. I haven’t bought HoT and i was just planning to feel what’s going on before i even think of buying it.
My feelings is that what was really a pain in the kitten at the time i stopped playing, i mean: hours and hours of grinding just to have some new skin, or a couple of gems etc…is now ever worse.
Rewards are so low that the simplest idea of playing this game for an entire week just to have mats to craft a single piece of armor is mindblowing.
I love the game, i think this is on of the best MMO ever. Have lots of fun things to do, lots of interaction and lots of improvements and innovations since launch.
However, the game pushes players to do them all in a way that you feel you need to always look for the “most rewardable things to do” instead of “do what you want and be rewarded for it” feeling….
Some months ago, when i stopped playing, 400gems was costing about 10gold, now its 20gold. However the cost of things on the gem store are still the same, and ridiculously high. It means now you have to grind all week to have some pitiful and useless thing bought with gems.
There’s no reason for me to buy this expansion even though i would love to play it, i feel that i would certainly stop playing it for about a couple of weeks since the core idea of the game is getting worse and worse.
When i used to play WoW for example, i felt that even though the game was paid monthly, there were no such a thing as this imposed need to grind stuff all the time.
GW2 is free2play and i love it for this, but the time i have to play can’t rewardme enought to get the things that i want in the game. Now theres such a complex system for everything. Want a new skin, wepon or outfit? grind-it-all, hours and hours for a recipe, then more hours for making some little gold for an ingredient, then hours to get some collections, then a t1 precursor, then t2 and t3, and you can finally start grinding for the items for a legendary wepon!
i mean, you should have a difficult system for such a reward, but it feeels like you need to choose only one thing to do in your game or else you won’t be achieving anything at all. Want to buy new gem stuff? then grind weeks for it, but be aware that while doing it, you won’t be able to prepare your ascended gear or legendary wepon, or even trade stuf on TP.
Well, i really hope the game changes this because new MMO’s are coming and when they do, people will stop playing GW2 inevittably.
Next year you will need to run like 15 hours on dungeons just to be able to buy a revive orb….

Yeah, but the thing is: about a year ago one could buy 100 gems within 1 hour farming dungeons, now he needs to farm 5 times more and who knows how many farming time will be needed to buy 100 gems next year!? This looks to me as if the Gem store was in an inevitable crashing path. I mean: who would farm 50 hours just to buy some 3 black lion keys for example and have a chance to get something totally unworthy?

So you are saying that the quantity of gems is limited? Because if there is a gem pool and people usually buy more gems than sell them, so the gems will eventually vanish. I wonder what happens when people use real cash to buy gems: Does the gems come from the “pool”, or are they “magically created” to satisfy the buyer’s intent, resulting in an increased total number of gems inside the game?
I have a simple question that i couldn’t find on other topics in a first survey:
I have been searching for the GEM PRICE VARIATIONS from 2013 to 2014 and became surprisingly stunned with the big increase in the Gem Cost (i mean how many gold one need to pay to buy gems).
100 Gems were usually buyable for about 3g a year ago and now the same amount of gems is costing around 14g.
The curve seems to be constant and this lead me to think that gems follow some kind of influence of the gold inflation or something like that.
I tried to link the gem prices to the number of active players (buyng and selling gem stuff) but couldn’t.
So the question is:
Is it safe to assume that the cost for 100 GEMS (in gold currency) is becoming bigger and bigger forever no matter what?
I mean, anyone can see that eventually the prices go dow a little but at long term, it always seem to be bigger.
Because i normally wait for a low for buyng gems with gold, but it seems there are never real “lows”.
Just saw a video of this acheevo:
Guys aggroed some of the mobs at the front row then some at the right side of the boss. When there were about 8-10 left, they aggroed everything and killed all but 1 grenadier, which was targeted not to be killed. When boss was down, they killed that grenadier and got the achievement! Nobody died but they were downed though. They didn’t disengage as well.

One thing you guys might be missing is that you CANNOT disengage. That means you cannot kill boss then disengage and then engage the remaining mobs.
I didn’t get it yet though, but i’m trying next time doing the following:
Kill 3 first rows, then aggro boss. When he is at somewhat 10% of his life, aggro 1 or 2 of his remaining crew, then kill boss without disengaging adds, then aggro the rest of them if they are not aggroed already and finally kill them all.
People cannot be dead when boss is down nor when u kill all mobs. Dont Get OOC also.

Since we are constantly buffed while doing dungeons and, in some cases even while on solo PvE, this change has actually NERFED Mesmer’s ‘Mind Spike’ skill instead of buffing it.
Pleasecorrect this ASAP. The DMG needs to be higher when the ACTUAL TARGET has no boons, not when the MESMER has no boons. At least this is what is written on the patch notes…
You can do it twice a day:
1x – Complete the 5th (5/5) daily PvE achievement while supporting Evon or Kiel.
1x – Complete the 4th (4/4) PVP daily achievement while supporting Evon or Kiel.
Since you can’t do dailies again in the same day, you won’t be able to get the same achievements for the other candidate in the same day. But you can obtain both in just 3 days if, on the 2nd day, you complete the first candidate doing PvE OR PvP and then star the second candidate doing the other dailie you didn’t completed yet on that 2nd day.
You need to complete T1 first, then T2 in order to get the achievement. And it Needs to be in the same candidate, and i this exact order.
You can’t do T1 from Evon then T2 From Kiel, neither T2 then T1 from the same candidate. Needs To be T1 from Evon and then T2 from evon, OR T1 Kiel then T2 kiel.
The buff doesn’t need to be active for the achievement to count (direct support).

Is the buff lost when you die? Because it is clearly stated (can’t remember exactly where i have read this) that you need to have the buff ON the moment you complete the dungeon.
Did you die before the completion, during the completion (were you dead the moment the boss was killed)?
I think the “Dynamic” part of “Dynamic Events” refers to the mechanics of the event itself, not to the locations.
I agree that it would be cool to have it spawned in random places, however it would be much harder to make it so cool as it is if they did this way.
Jormag for example. It spawns in a specific place because it makes sense to do so, since all the place is used as part of the event. The ambient is part of the event itself.
Would Jormag have spawned, lets say, in Queensdale for example, the place wouldn’t be “prepared” to receive the same event that occurs in the FrostGorge Sound map.
You actually don’t need to wait for the last competitor to cross the line. You just need to cross it, get the chest, and the credits for the achievement will also apply the moment you cross it. Then you just leave and start again, on a different instance probably, but sometimes you will end up on the same instance with the waiting counter still on the go if there are just a few people running the event at the time.
You only need to wait everyone if you want the achievement for 1st place or the one for being one of the 3 first competitors to cross the line.
After you get these 2 achievements, you can just farm runs and chests and make indeed good gold and items.
Personally, i just run about 30 times also, and didn’t get any skins, but i do got rare loot from the chest.
Using this “trick” of leaving the instance aftergetting the chest, you can easily make a run in about 4 minutes, and thus about 13-15 runs per hour.
Doing 13 runs in an hour will grant you 1.3 Gold just from the coin rewards, not counting the items you get.
One can farm CoF Dungeon for more gold for example, but risking not getting a party, or failing, etc.
Not that SS is the best way to farm gold, but it is easily the funniest at the least.
Perfect for when you are waiting for something and is not sure what to do while in wait for example, or to get that little coin you need to buy something fast enough
Just to make it clear:
We can upgrade Ascended Rings into Infused Rings on the Mystic Forge by putting 1 shard, 3 glob and 5 vials of mists essence along with the ascended ring on it. The output is an infused ring with +5 AR AND one slot
My question is about THIS kind of upgrade, upon the acessories. Is there a way to obtain +10 AR from acessories?
I was told that by just applying the infusion on the infusion slot, it wouldn’t change the name of the item to (infused), it would only apply the + 5 AR.
However, for the rings and the back, you can really infuse it using the Mystic Forge, then the item would have +5 AR naturally (infused), without ever applying an infusion, wich would let you get +10 AR from the item with an applied infusion.
So, i assume that by just applying the infusion the acessory will change its name?

I bought Totem of The Gorilla Ascended, and acoording to thi GW2DB there are 2 versions of it: the normal ascended one, and the infused one. Though i haven’t found the recipe for upgrading it.

It seems that since this patch from November 2012, 2 of the infusions (Resilient and Vital Infusions) are using only 1 Philosopher’s Stone, instead of 50 as usual for the other infusions.
Considering that your post is from june 2013, think this is not a bug after all, of they simply forget about this. I will run and make mine before they nerf it!

A nice way to counter this guys is to send people attack the campers camps and towers or even their keeps. Several at the same time. This would probaly make them Waypoint back to defend their positions and being unable to get to the kite site again unless doing all the JP again.
If you are trying to do the JP alone and encounter some of them camping the site, try to contact some guild members or allies to help u with this task
Not showing it on the “nearly complete” section doesn’t mean it won’t be in the achievements panel. Though, as with the skypirates and other past events, it will simply disappear after the event is gone.

I was ganked by enemy campers on the basket site yesterday and decided to stay there for as long as they would stay there, hoping someone would appear and rezz me.
After verifying that there were about 5-6 of them, i just warned every one on the map to be wary of the “X Server” campers on the basket site, telling how many and where they are, in a few moments allied people and even the other server people showed up and rezzed me, putting an end to the nasty campers joy….i laughed and became surprised that so many people are still in favor of fair play.
Lets say your chance of getting a fortune from a kill is 0,5%
Increasing your MF by 150% you would still be getting a 1,25% wich is a really small chance.
meh this minigame is useless at all. I can’t even earn enough gold to the trivial en basic content….won’t spend valuable coins into something like that.
It could be fun though, if the prices were like 10 times lower
This is whathappens when you create temporary content everytime….things don’t work anymore, and other things simply are not properly explained how and where you should use it….

The holograms that have a 50/50 chance of spawning aetherblade pirates have a 1% chance to spawn. 99% of the timesthey only have 0% chance of spawning aetherblade pirates

Its just that i got ZERO pirates from about 50 holos and then i just gave up
SO tell me more about how you want an achievement without having achieved anything at all?
If there were an achievement for killing a hyper hard boss and you couldn’t kill it because you are a mediocre player, so you would ask another player to kill him for you and let you lend the final blow just to get the achievement?

I htink they should grant rewards for achievements, not for dailies.
I am not in the leaderboars but im complaining. And i like to think that the people that are on the leaderboards and are also complaining, do so because they play for a long time and agree with the fact that rewards should not be added for this specifical system.
Besides, the points per se don’t say anything. Leaderboards have tons of people and alsmos nobody check them. And everyone should know that in the first months past the release, dailies granted much more AP than now. Thus, older players that keep continually playing will be forever in the top leaderboards because the will keep getting more and more daily points….this is a stupid way of measuring anything at all.
Leaderbords in this case are more of a Gameplay time than anything. Differently from the PvP ranks that actually mean something.
Some of you, at first sight, think the reason for some players suggesting removing dailies from the reward system for achievement points are because they want to stay TOP, or to show how good they are etc…
Well, i don’t have a lot of AP and i don’t give a kitten about them. HOWEVER, i care for the Achievements as they were conceived.
After starting playing GW2 for the first 2 weeks, i wondered why dailies granted me achievements….but i was ok with that because this was just adding and addicting as in any other mmo.
However, at the right moment they announce they will implement rewards for achievement points, this creates a new problem that didn’t existed so far:
I would remove purpose of achievements completely. Well, there is already a bunch of stupid, boring, ridiculously hard to achieve, fun, easy and all kinds of achievements.
The average player don’t care about them, but some do. Not for an elitis or selfish reason like to show off how good you are or how you completed something that the other didn’t. But because achievements are fun and i see them as a challenge, and i love challenges.
Some players are good on PvP, other on Pve, other in dungeons, and there even some that are good in nothing but really add to the social experience in game.
Since there will be a rewards for achievement points, the “achievement” part of “achievement points” is meaningless becaus you can earn these points doing repetitive, easy and fast tasks.
Well There were already stupid, and easy and fast tasks that granted us acheivements, so why bother now? Because before, they had a single purpose: To increase the sense of satisfaction of all the kinds of players, becasue no matter what they do, there is an achievement for it.
And now, adding this new PURPOSE for achievement points, all kinds of players will be driven into a wild hunt for points, because of the rewards and not because of the fun or challenge at all.
People will still be able to do everything they want though, which is a good thing. But also it will discourage them to do hard things because you can do easy things do earn fast and easy points.
Well, i hope this clarify things.
They must have done “CTRL+C / CTRL+V” on the programming data for the holos from before the Aetherblade event lulz
i could have sold 100 coffers for 96 silver yesterday. I chose not to and then i have opened all of them.
Found 2 dragon minis, 1 yellow equipment, 1 merchant consumable, 1 repair kit, 3 tonics, 3 potions and a dozen food lvl 80 and lots of candy.
I dont know if all these items togheter worth more than 96 silver but i think so
So many people reporting the same issue. I did look for them in ascalon for hours and found only 1. Gave up and wwent farming them onto the vexa’s lab
