It’s an odd situation. GS has 2 skills (Mindstab and the knockback #5) that you avoid using until a special case comes up. Almost like GS has 3 skills and 2 utilities o.O
The way it works is they log out, their character disappears (you don’t get the kill), but their character is still in the downed state. So when they log back in they’re dead.
What’s fun is when your queue pops and you jump into a swarm of enemies, spam all your annoying skills (or lead them off a ledge), then right before you die port to other map XD
Node farming in Cursed Shore, Malchor’s Leap, and Frostgorge is about 2-3 gold in 2 hours…. if you can deal with the extremely annoying mobs and their stupid respawn rate.
Sadly I think whoever wins will lose… because they will move up brackets :/ btw SoR isn’t working with NSP

at lvl 20 with Fine gear… doing 1.5k on non-crit with iBerserker. It’s fun
As for the 90% health – yes a glass cannon will have ~4.5k crit iBerserker and it can hit the same target twice in one spin. So… yea you got hit by a glass cannon Mesmer.
Think it was made for WvW to be used against Dagger Storm. Strip Stability + knockback. Other than that… used to remove swiftness, regen, protection, or large stacks of might.
haha noooo whirlpoollll! No more push-to-win while underwater LOL. Although it was our only under-water elite, it was pretty ridiculous. Good thing my main is warrior
btw in WvW the glass-cannon warrior is pretty useless. They can take out 1 target for sure… but in a 30v30 battle one kill isn’t drastic. In fact, if they’re in melee range, rooted, they will get focused and explode within 3 seconds. I would be more worried about a longbow warrior
the #3 is AoE burn/blast that crits for 4k on 10s CD.
I use dagger storm consistently and never get hit back by a reflect through my reflect

Guild Wars has some really amazing history and lore behind it. I don’t feel like GW2 conveys that lore… Also the lack of cinematics makes the game hard to immerse myself in.

Hmmmm Reflect is a strange ability. I know in PvE if you attack a mob that has reflect up while you have reflect up, the last bounce will hit them. I assume it makes 3 reflects in PvP though so whoever initiates the attack takes the damage.
Focus them – with melee, AoEs, and conditions NOT range.
Strip their retaliation and knock them down/stun/daze. Mesmer GS can strip with 3 then knockdown with 5. I’m sure Necros have a handful of ways to strip Stability.
Reflection – Magnetic Aura, Feedback, reflecting with shield, Wall of Reflection, etc.
Dodging is not a viable option. Even with 3 consecutive dodges you still have 3-4+ seconds left on their dagger storm. Dodging AWAY from them however is a different situation

On a side note, the weather storm will break the altar causing the orb to start its reset timer. I’m still seeing hackusations in /map when this happens lol
From my experience… don’t have as much info on some classes though.
Mesmer – portals, time warp, reflect bubble, possibly stealth
Guardian – reflect wall and bubbles, retaliation
Elementalist – lots of heavy AoE, lots of combo fields, AoE CC
Necromancer – condition spread… I’ve seen a down-scaled necro solo a supply camp? lol
Engineer – mortar and 1500 range grenades
Thief – stealth
Warrior – battle standards, possible 1m+ of AoE swiftness
Not sure about the others.
Everyone gather at the gates and use a mystery tonic before charging them. Being rushed by all kinds of jackalopes, steam minotaurs, pigs, skale, moas, etc. will confuse their brains!

US to EU only adds 10-20ms. Not sure how bad it is the other way around. This is how WvW should have been set up. The language barrier would have partially fixed itself due to time-zones. Unfortunately it is too late for this solution now.

No problem with PvE folks. The issue is they got lost in a PvP area =)
So I’m in Eternal Battlegrounds rushing to defend Stonemist from hordes of invaders. I rush out the ruins of our Valley keep… and there’s 50+ allies fighting a grub. Long story short – we lost SM really fast.
Anyone else have issues with PvE people in WvW lol?

As an ele with 2,300 armor I usually get hit for 5k by Cluster Bomb. In comparison, my meteors crit for 2k.
Yes the Elementalist’s Staff/Air Attunement #2 skill, Lightning Surge, has infinite range (along with the underwater #2 skill.) You can hit things that are out of your line of sight. It does around 800 damage to siege. With the extreme amount of bugs/glitches they already have I think it might be a while before this is fixed…

Yes absolutely destroyable :P just suggesting something to help a defense. 6 arrow carts won’t stop a group of enemies – they walk straight through the cripples… or rather, limp*
Yea there’s a large possibility for griefing by allowing users to create solid objects…. I suppose it might be too difficult to create checks and bounds for such a tool. At the least, perhaps add it as an upgrade for supply camps.
Yea I agree the rez priority is odd. They recently changed the “Use” key to prioritize players over pets I think… maybe they just missed this one.
I’ve seen a statement on here from ANet to take the copper and report.
WvW gives players pre-defined locations to defend from – towers and keeps. While you can set up siege at a choke point in the map, enemies will charge right through and destroy you.
Perhaps there is a place for Defensive Siege blueprints. As in, a spike wall like the Centaurs often use. This would allow players to strategically create a defensive position at places like supply camps.
Issues: Griefing – there are some spots that I think would be prohibited from placing walls. For example if a player could place several walls behind a gate… that would be annoying.
It’s a tricky glyph, but works wonders when you know how to use it. You can only rez downed players in combat. If you are out of combat you can revive defeated players. I’ve only been able to revive defeated players in Earth attunement (which is great since 3 revives from defeated is amazing.) When I tried last night it would not go through walls, but you can rez from different heights.
Maybe give a personnel upgrade in towers/keeps for Siege Operators :P
Well, glad we finally have a statement on the topic. I hope you guys had the chance to play WvW in BWE… because it will never be that fun again. There will be 1 or 2 lucky match-ups every week that are close… all the others will be blow-outs. These are the options for WvW as of now:
If you want to enjoy WvW – don’t try to win. Try to take control of the map, but have fun trying. If you try to win you will hate WvW with a passion.
If you want to win and actually play WvW then join the top EU server. The added lag is only about 10-20ms.
I think Habib is saying that it’s an algorithm problem (assuming it is server complications.) If it’s O^2 then they would need to find a serious mistake in the algorithm to make it run better than O^2.
Idk how it would be from over there. I have a NA and EU account (from NA) and it was only like 10-20ms. I think it has to do with the way their data-centers are set up?
Scrap the US/EU server paradigms and shift all players into one server pool. No more off-peak.

I’m looking for a server that would be a good match for me (I only know English, sorry…) Looking for: a guild that knows how to play WvW and needs to build up an off-peak hour raiding crew, AND a server that has a strong WvW presence. Thanks.
One solution would be if they forced all timezones to play in the same server pool, as in, no NA/EU – just one server roster. I have a NA and EU account and both run on the same ping.
