From week 1 results, it was a very good competitive match. Did you actually need to go out and recruit other?

When they transferred the BG shoutbox was full of people confused and surprised, even the large guild leaders. Does that help you?

At the end of the day your picking on one tiny wincy aspect of my post, and completely ignoring that the whole entire reason it was brought back up again was, because members of your current server, and newer members of SoS have said SOR was the sole reason SOS imploded, at that time, which I was stating is utterly incorrect, and at the same time, also point to the fact that if the SoS people really wanted to hate a server they should perhaps look at BG since your, now current, server took the lions share of the SOS WvW guilds compared to SOR, JQ, TC and FA.

So please don’t be getting your knickers in a knot because of the small aspect of my post. but by all means please try to point out where in my reasoning that it, if there be any server that, should SoS hate a server more, when presented with the facts, it should actually be BG.

It looks like you still ignore half of my first post saying the same thing you’re complaining that I’ve ignored. Go read it again, JQ was a very large reason for all of those transfers.

Also “not privy” is hilarious. I’ve specifically been talking about AoI, I have not once mentioned anything regarding MERC, for example, being “bought.” Which btw, was the entire reason this buying guilds thing ever came about. When MERC posted that BG helped them pay transfer costs for some of their members. This isn’t even close to a secret. However you’ve got some twisted revisionist history, where most of the guilds were bought and only you know which ones.

At the end of the day the reason I brought this up again, was to dispel some of the BS about the SoS implosion, and blaming SOR for it all.

But yes a little of the actual truth makes it harder for the trolls to blame SOR and who just happened to be the next inline to be bumped up, and who fought to keep their spot in T1.

So its OK for you to dispel slander about SoR, but not ok for me to dispel slander about my guild and my server? Awesome. Looks like you fit right in on your server. Compelling argument as well, some unknown payment was sent to some unknown guilds during a transfer that only you have the knowledge of. Not somebody who was basically co-leader (with 3 others) of one of those guilds. No way.

Agg (30)/FoE (25) – Transferred 2 weeks before the rest, then transferred off BG 2 weeks later or something

Oceanic:
MERC (40)

SEA:
ND (40)

I’m 95% sure I’m not forgetting any guilds, leaving 5% there because it has been awhile… maybe there is some guild I don’t remember… maybe. That is 9 guilds, 2 of which were small guilds with about 50 members each. I’ll also tell you AoI did not get paid to move anywhere. I farmed Orr for 3 days before I had enough to move.

I’ll also tell you it was probably JQ’s stacking during free transfers that made the move happen, not their EU, not SoR, not SoR’s EU. SoS got VoTF and ND during that, but it was still not enough to compete with JQ. Also during that time JQ was telling every potential transfer how stacked SoS was, even ignoring the fact that SoS had lost half its NA and the only SEA it had was MERC (who didn’t always play SEA at that time), AFS (who ran like 10 people), and ND.

There’s always somebody who tries to bring that move up, but when I come in there as somebody who was actually part of it, you never hear from that person again.

I have seen oPP on resets though in much larger numbers than your claiming 12-15 active. It may be all 10 on at once, with followers, but we’ve clashed multiple times especially the week prior to the season when it was TC, BG, and JQ

oPP does not play resets.

They seem to have bunkered themselves up in Lion’s Arch. A particular group, IRON, has taken to picketing in front of the portals instead of going into WvW. Countermeasures do not seem to be needed.

Late response: But I’m glad you tried it out. You have to start somewhere and you may not always win, but you will be a better player because of it. Just last night I was at windmill dueling some GF guys and a SoR warrior. There was also a SoR Recruit spectating, the warrior told us the guy was new and was asking him for help. So he gave him his build. I think you guys got a new roamer last night.

Just something people may not see but is a positive of this living story thing.

Also while I’m catching up on this thread, I assume that was Slynn. He’d destroy me too. He doesn’t read or post in this thread though, he just plays the game.

I know, that’s what I meant as well. I’m sure some of the guilds will just play on this map when it isn’t their prime time and then play the PPT game when it is. But for my myself, and probably my guild, I have no reason to be on the PPT map if this new one is going to have people to fight.

Zerglings run from roamers, roamers run from havoc squads, havoc squads run from zergs/map blobs. Map blobs get owned by the all mighty DC/game crash & hour-long queue. Know your place in the hierarchy, everyone runs from something and chest thumping is funny and kinda sad.

I want to correct you on this. When I roam and when I run with a group of 5, I do not run from a zerg. We stalk zergs and kill stragglers. We will run when they turn on us, but we will not leave them alone, we turn back around when they stop chasing and continue with what we were doing.

Anyway, you missed the part where I said some of us build so that you cannot escape. The only time people get away from me is if they have 3 vs me alone, or if they are standing within 1200 range of a tower and they are running all condi cleanse (like a guardian). I am built specifically to prevent this.

So given this information, IRON running guy, you have two choices:
1) die with your back to me, never even trying to attack (this one is pretty much a guarantee)
or
2) fight me, have a chance of killing me and escaping

Probably less small guilds that only play for fights, on the PPT maps. Instead they will be on this map because no queue, probably no lag, and its new.

Let me put it another way – trying to get back to my guild and help them with a tower defence or open field battle is more important than spending five minutes trying to stay alive against players primarily built to kill me.

If I die fast I respawn fast so I get to my guild fast…….unless I meet roamers again ofc ;P

I know its hard to believe but fighting against roamers comes pretty down on my list of priorities.

I never said it was supposed to be your priority. It’s just really silly when you want to get back to a PPT objective, but we kill you and gain PPT for our server, and you didn’t even try to stop us. We still get PPT for stomps after all, its much lower than it was (sadly), but the free kills we get really add up… and those kills really shouldn’t be free.

A lot of the time, we end up camping a spawn just so people like that will fight us (because they have a group).

A lot of regular players are group specced and built. If I die in a battle or I log on and need to get to my guild sometimes I have to run across a map. Sure I can swap out some skills but Im primarily a group support build and I need to get to my guild.

I expect to die in WvW but not by being an idiot (open to debate I know lol)

You chose to be a roamer – suck it up.

A roamer complains about you guys running when you don’t even try to put up a fight. A lot of the time, you have no chance of escaping, some of us build to make sure that doesn’t happen. So when we kill a guy who never engages and just lets us beat him down from the back, its kind of pathetic. Turn around, press some buttons, who knows, maybe the roamer isn’t that good… you might win. It is way better, for both of us, than just letting us press 1 on you till you die.
