Team wasn’t invited. I would be interested if ANY roaming guilds (never more than 5-6 people) get invited.

If not I give up all hope for this new map. It will just be blobby like the wvw maps if they only invite the blobby guilds who run their stacking 15-20+ zergs and feel pro all running right next to some leader spamming aoe and auto attacks.

I hope some roamers get let into the beta so that they can direct the direction of the map away from guilds like this who just blob and make wvw a skilless and no-fun environment.

Why do people lie? Since day 1 of leagues BG has never been 2v1, quite the contrary, he always 2v1 with the other server, which is making them win this week and get JQ to 2nd place, making them winners of this league.

TC has a large enough population to affect the outcome. SoS and Maguuma don’t.

I don’t really see it being that much of a problem. TC has lost a lot of guilds, today I heard they lost a NA guild to SoS, though I don’t know how accurate that is so I’m not naming the guild.

IMO SoR is the strongest server out of the 3 it would be a huge challenge.

I honestly don’t know. I have a feeling JQ and SoR are right there with each other. Wish we had a 1v1 this to find out, sadly ANet didn’t oblige at all during this league.

It would have been interesting had there been a JQ/SoR/(Maguuma or SoS)

I understand BG wants to keep SoR from beating them in week 1, but the priority should be keeping JQ in 3rd place. BG helping JQ get to 2nd doesn’t help BG at all.

I would agree with this, but only because this means we (JQ and BG) could tie for 2nd and I think that outcome is interesting. To be honest with you, I don’t believe BG has a chance at winning either way.

They would be fine for roaming as well, thief because … well its a thief, and Engi has speedy kits so perma swift.

I was mainly just speaking from a warrior’s point of view. I tend to “babysit” the engineers in the group, to make sure they don’t die when they get focused. Not saying they are bad players because they really aren’t, I just feel obligated as the class with way more mobility to do so. I feel like thief may feel the same, but he may be fine with doing so like I am so this could just be irrelevant.

Engineer is really good for that duo. I fought a [TKG] condi engineer/glass thief duo that was really hard to take out (they probably know who they are). If you down the engineer the thief would SR and rez him back up, if you down the thief the engineer would drop a crate on you and rez him before you could do anything about it.

I don’t know about how it does with roaming itself (because roaming is all mobility), but if you get into a fight… the duo is really strong.

The rewards would be everyone getting the first place chest or whatever you’re supposed to get for winning, assuming that is what happens anyway. Also Mags, TC, and SoS getting something, instead of nothing, if somebody could plan it correctly (aka not me).

I personally don’t care either way what happens. I would find it funny to mess with ANet’s plan though. Also I’m not trying to be the spokesman for something like this. I was just like “hey, if we took 2nd in the 7th week… JQ and BG could tie… I wonder if all 3 of us could tie…”

Go look at how difficult it was for some guilds to throw matches to get into leagues.

It’s all just a dream.

I know, that’s why I was trying to plan it with minimal thrown matches and volunteered my own server for the 1 throw (we are actually all pretty nice dudes so I could see it maybe working). The deviations in 1st/2nd for the same matches (SoR vs BG) could just be one server not pushing as hard as the last week, which is actually really easy to plan and happens naturally all the time.

Edit: I think on a guild level, this could work, but convincing pugs not to spawncamp Maguuma for example would be really hard. Though I’m sure SoR could keep them more than busy (also why I chose that matchup).

This is what I had from earlier in the page before I got demoralized by the fact that I messed up SoS’s matches and didn’t want to do those again…

JQ    3 1 1 1 2 2 1 = 27
SoR  2 1 2 1 1 1 3 = 27
BG    1 2 1 3 1 1 2 = 27

It requires BG to throw the 4th week match, which is impossible naturally, but could be done because its Maguuma (they will definitely push as hard as they can). We 3 would all get first. I really want SoS and Mags to tie for 3rd as well, but it’s such a pain to plan without too many thrown matches (shooting for none), and I don’t think its possible to get one of them to tie with TC.

Can you change that to JQ or something? BG only cried friday-saturday, the queues have vanished since then (outside NA prime). We are operating as normal again. Now all we have to cry about is the lag every time 2 30 man forces hit each other (which is seriously terrible and worthy of all the tears).

I mean I know you guys are going through this whole I told you so deal with your transfers, but leave BG out! We are doing fine.

True, was just curious why it ended up like that.

Speaking of the season though, if BG wins this match and then gets 2nd on week 7 with JQ 3rd… JQ and BG will tie for 2nd (if the other matches go as expected). I wonder what happens in that situation? My math may be wrong because I’m doing it in my head, but I believe we both can end it with 25 points.

I kind of want that to happen just to see what ANet will do. Even better would be all 3 of us in a tie for first but I don’t know what you would need for that to happen.

Same here, we were actually outmanned on BGBL for awhile as well (including the other 2). I haven’t been to EB since this started so no idea what goes on there.

TL;DR: Don’t only play thief/warrior/mesmer when roaming.

People are going to play thief/warrior/mesmer as long as the other classes have less mobility/escapes. WvW is completely about mobility, the faster you are the less you die, the more slippery you are the less you die. It has nothing to do with damage or builds or flavor of the month or whatever.

If necro had as much mobility and/or escapes as those 3, then you’d be whining about necro right now (arguably the strongest class atm when you remove mobility from the equation). All of a necro’s mobility is either going to put him in combat or take up a utility slot, when the objective is to break combat it’s pretty counter intuitive.

I have a guardian as well, but ANet thought it was a good idea to remove almost every mob in the southern area of the BLs. So all of my mobility (teleports) is negated. EB has the same problem which is why I really do not like playing guardian there. If I engage in a fight with guardian, I either die or I win. If the enemy gets an extra ally while I’m fighting him, I’m going to have no way to respond to this. Especially when downed is taken into consideration, if similar skill level, I should have 0% chance to win that fight.

- SoR accepts the invitation. They begin to gain a 9k point lead over JQ and only a 1k point lead over BG. BG then realizes they got what they needed of SoR and screws them over approximately 10.315 times. SoR still clueless to all the screwings they’ve undergone ignorantly continue to attack JQ. All of the sudden the weak and puny BG gains the lead over SoR.

As i am probably the ele you are referring to here i think i can explain why we ‘run away’ from you instead of fight you.
oPP is a guild build to roam and 1v1 , 2v1 people. PvP players pur sang and you’re good, if not great, at what you do.
[HzH] is a map leading guild, almost 95% of the players you’ll encounter with an [HzH] tag are built to support the guild in open field fights, support and siege warfare. We have roamers, but they are few and far between. The ones we have though, tend to kitten people up in 1v1, i hope you’ll encounter them once, i think it’s going to be a good match.

As for why i tend to ‘run away’, instead of fight an oPP player 1v1. Well, first, i’m a friggin ele…last thing i need to do is 1v1-ing mesmers and thieves :p
Secondly, my entire gear, weaponset, traitset, build…is made to support a guild group in group fights. I know my build, i don’t deal a lot of dmg, but i heal the kitten out of people and make sure my commander is alive and at full health even during the largest fights. Do you honestly want me, a staff ele (even switching to daggers won’t do much for me) with 0 points in fire, and fully geared to heal instead of doing dmg, fight you who are fully decked out to 1v1 people. I don’t see the use in that, to me is it’s as usefull as a can of alcoholfree beer in a bachelorsparty. I honnestly think it makes more sense for me to try to kite you and go help my own guild. And this goes for almost all of our members.
So yeah, you’ll probably see us trying to dodge your guild in order to get to our own, not because we suck, but because we’re simply not sporting the build to 1v1 at that time.

That being said. Few HzH will be able to win from an oPP player in a 1v1. On the other hand, oPP is less likely to capture/defend a keep being defended/assaulted by HzH.
Both guilds have their strengths and weaknesses, no use in chest thumping on forums on how you can use your strong point vs another guilds weak point.

I know, I was just giving that other HzH guy crap for randomly insulting somebody else. My build isn’t exactly meant for 1v1s either. It’s extremly strong in small group play however. So if a condition/phantasm mesmer fights me (scepter 2 all day), I’m probably going to lose. But if that mesmer finds us in a 3v3 he will probably lose. I still fight those 1v1s though, because I’m a roamer, sometimes even 1v2s if I’m confident vs the classes.

Props to Rydia, he’s a cool guy.

@HzH guy: I found 1 ranger who didn’t run from me today. I found 1 guard who ported as soon as he saw me go towards him, 1 ele who ran but couldn’t get away, and a thief who upon me running up to him used blinding powder and ran to bay. I was solo in every situation. So maybe try getting your 1 ranger to train your guildies to not run, he’s a cool guy.

I would call BS on that but it’s really not worth the effort. I mean every server claims they don’t have queue’s but the simple sizes of the groups we have been fighting. Don’t discredit our intelligence please. To answer your question it varies our queue’s are buggy I’ve had guildies get in instantly and then some wait hours. It also depends what guild is on what map for us as some guilds such kitten and SG and HzH have larger pug/guild crews that thus lengthen queues.

While he is stretching the truth a bit (EB and BGBL probably long queue — 20-40m), SoR and JQ BL both have very short queues.

If that’s the case then you would support changing the map cap to 40, which will also only affect a small number of matches.

T1 here: Yes. Though 40 is a bit low, I’d rather 50-60. 1 large guild per map with a few small guilds capable of joining.

1) People in upper tiers falsely assume that the lower tiers have roamers to take these points. They dont. When they do take them they are splitting off their ONLY force into being even smaller and even more outmanned often making the difference between taking / not taking the main group’s objective.

2) they can afford to have 2-3 groups of 5 camping these things.

3) And make sure you are on 24/7 while at it and go up against servers that have oceanic / euro coverage while you do not..

1) If lower tiers do not have roamers, then why does every lower tier server claim T1 has less roamers? This is contradictory and I’m curious why they would claim this and then you say it isn’t.

2) This sounds extremely boring and unlikely. If it was true, hypothetically, then these servers would be more tryhard than T1 is. People dont even like scouting in T1, but you would ask them to sit on a point where if they lose concentration for even a moment they could actually be killed? I wouldn’t even respond to such a request. T1 roamers only bother with the points when they don’t have any or if the other server is really pushing for it. Otherwise we are killing people at south ruins.

3) This happens in T1 as well, like I said. Not every T1 server has perfect 24/7 coverage, not even JQ (the current #1) has 24/7 coverage. I gave an example in my previous post, 10 people maybe on the map (I only saw 3 other people… but I’m assuming there were about 10), we had bloodlust.

As for your request to transfer to a lower tier, does having a character on SoS count? They have really low population during NA time as well as nonexistant EU and marginal SEA.

They are immune to conditions being applied to them, not immune to them. Same as the engineer trait, anything applied beforehand will still be there after it activates. It probably does need a nerf to its length though, 8s is a bit long, if it stays as is.

T1 and possibly T2:
- Roamers (usually just 3-5 people) cap bloodlust while dodging 25+ man zergs.
- 2/3 servers outmanned on most maps 75% of the day (TCBL an hr ago had 10~ people on it, we had bloodlust with outmanned)
- Likes the stomp points

Not T1:
- Unknown number of people cannot get bloodlust from unknown size zerg
- 2/3 servers outmanned on most maps at least 75% of the day
- Does not like the stomp points

Anyone care to explain this to me? And don’t give me that “because we aren’t T1” nonsense. Not all of us have been T1 forever, we know what lower tier servers are like, this happens to us as well… except it fluctuates between the servers. The ruins are not going to upgrade themselves the longer a server holds it, they are very easy to casually cap. You do not have to actually fight people to take a bloodlust point, so whether or not you’ll get stomped depends on whether or not you are going to let yourself die.

For the players/guilds actually involved in this match, I’m sure the history is quite different. Typically NA would be slightly won by SoR with the slightly more off covered SoS ticking higher during the day. Saying either server was stacked during this match is laughable, both of our servers were on the rise after both received an influx of guilds shortly before this match begun. I’m still of the belief that if SoR had won, we would of filled SoS’s shoes when they climbed to T1, and SoS would be in our position now. This match up was the deciding factor for the state of WvW for many month’s as a large assortment of guilds transferred to the winner of this match-up, thus creating the first properly covered server.

I was there, I was in VI/AoI. SoR was about the only server that could match SoS’s NA crew, thats why I put “pretty much.” Not a certainty, but the SoS NA crew would pull back ppt from the 4-6pm EST pushes (SoS was like BG, except no EU at all) and then end the nights 300+ppt to hand off to oceanic. They also had people like Kurthos and Patone literally playing entire days. Times were way different. lol

I real like this matchup. 4 weeks ago every match between JQ and BG that didn’t involve SoR was full with people from BG chest thumping about hat 100k lead in a matchup before and “lol you can’t win without SoR helping you”
It seems that backfired.

It’s hilarious how mad an entire server can be over a single person.

Want to know how oPP caps bloodlust?

We go and stand on one of them
somebody suggest we cap bloodlust
“Yeah… ok we can do that”
“I’ll go SW while you cap”
“I’ll go SE”

Then we stand there till it caps. That’s about as much coordination required. You do however need people not zerging, so I guess its tough for some groups of people.
