Severe lag since servers came back up

Lots of in-game lag, started at least around the 18th of April for me if I remember correctly.

Arenanet, I did your -diag option and looked through the report. No loss on my side (and don’t want to post my IP up on the Internet, which is in that log), but I did notice this on your side of the Internet (your servers)…

15 65ms 3/ 25 = 12% 0/ 25 = 0% 4.59.197.34
0/ 25 = 0% |
16 65ms 4/ 25 = 16% 1/ 25 = 4% 64.25.32.9
0/ 25 = 0% |
17 —- 25/ 25 =100% 22/ 25 = 88% 64.25.32.26

18 65ms 3/ 25 = 12% 0/ 25 = 0% 64.25.39.1

88% packet loss on 64.25.32.26

And this one…

Magic Find, how high do you go?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

cipher.7438

Great chart Geotherma.

I find it really silly how so many think it does nothing. They’re just going on assumptions and riding the RNG for only a moment instead of seeing the whole picture.

MF does help. But the real question is whether having the extra stats or MF is better. If people are just farming zones for hours, then having more MF is going to be a huge help. If they’re just running dungeons, fractals, or WvW, then stats might be more beneficial.

If those people who think MF does nothing are farming, then hey, their loss.

Magic Find, how high do you go?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

cipher.7438

Run as much as you like, but don’t focus on it. But keep in mind that plus 100% just means 100% of the odds, not 100% to find something. Example: plus 100% to 1/10,000 drop ratio is only 2/10,000. You’re still the RNG’s b**ch. ;-)

Arenanet doesn’t give us all of the details. They won’t divulge their RNG formulas, nor will they let us know if it stacks all at the same time (all added up then multiplied) or compounded (ex: 10% calculated first for one gear piece, then that new total calculated again for each other gear piece).

What I do: if I can get a double-digit stat increase (plus 20, 90, etc.), I ‘ll skip the magic find and go for stats. And if I can’t (plus 5, etc.), I’ll go ahead and slot magic find.

Example: Ascension Amulet. I’d rather have plus 20% MF or plus 15% Karma instead of plus 4 to a stat.

Hammerfist Clan [HFC] is recruiting for GW2

HFC is more than just a guild: we’re a thriving, respectful, mature, gaming community. Our GW2 team is one our sponsored guilds that’s still looking for new members who want to enjoy the game with a group of friendly people. Multiple scheduled weekly events, unique events, daily on-the-fly runs, and a ton of help and advice both in-game and over VoIP. If you’re 18+, join us for some of the best grouping you’ve ever had in GW2, then stay for the multi-game community.

Server: Tarnished Coast
VoIP: Mumble (optional, and encouraged)
Application: http://www.hammerfistclan.com/forum/f68/team-application-250072/

Why HFC?

Healthy Community
Every member of HFC has a voice, and we encourage everyone to get involved with their teams. Yet we realize that real life is always a priority. Members are free to join us in game, on our forums, and/or through Voice-over-IP on their own schedules. It’s your time, your community, here when you want it.

Active Team
We regularly schedule voluntary events available to all members. We also form casual, spurr of the moment groups on a daily basis and when there’s enough interest. You can count on members being online and in-game at almost any time, day or night. And expect to see big surges of activity during the evenings and weekends as members connect to have some fun in game. We branch out in almost all aspects of GW2, including dungeon & fractal runs, organized WvW, zone stomps, jumping puzzles, public dungeons, world events, achievements, and more.

Golden Rule
Simple. We treat you the way we’d like to be treated ourselves. And we expect the same from all members. Members treat each other with respect. Drama is discouraged and promptly addressed.

Officers Here for You
Our officers serve a purpose: to help members, coordinate events, and maintain our teams. There is no ‘elite club’, nor is this a popularity contest. Officers are here to serve the community and the team in which they belong.

Selective Application Process
We’re comprised of mature, respectful people, so we make sure we accept and encourage applications that continue in that tradition. As a member you’ll be able to participate in and vote on applications to help us uphold that level of integrity.

Diverse Gaming Styles
Overall we’re a casual bunch, willing and able to try out any and all features in GW2. Our members range from hardcore, competitive gamers to mellow, casual gamers. You’re bound to find members who share your play styles and interests.

Beyond Guilds
Perhaps it’s GW2 this year, then the next latest, greatest MMO the next. Whatever comes our way, we have a refined process of moving into new games. This makes us an ideal community for those who play multiple MMOs. Rest assured, we still treasure and support the MMOs of years past, with an active and engaged team for each one. Finally, our forums offer a place to socialize and discuss topics beyond just our teams and their games. Join an active, friendly community: make HFC your new home.

Enlarge Party Size

but im talking for dungeons mostly because in the open world you dont need anyone on your party its already open to all.

Not true. I’m talking in the open as well. My guild does all sorts of events from WvW to PvE, and in the latter we do “zone stomps” where we all get together and work on a zone for new players, alts, etc., from just zone completion to jumping puzzles and public mini dungeons.

So having one big group instead of like three or so 5-mans would be a help huge. From marking the map together to keeping track of everyone in case someone gets stuck or lost between VoIP (Mumble) communication when they’re in different groups.

The issue of bigger parties goes way beyond just dungeons.

What is ArenaNet doing about thief's?

in Suggestions

Posted by: cipher.7438

cipher.7438

In WvW/PvP it’s completely silly. 100% agreed. In PvE it’s fun, works, and is balanced.

The problem is every thief that wants to be competitive in smaller scale WvW and PvP is most likely going to run that stealth/condition build. The one everyone hates to be on the receiving side, where they attack and add DoTs, stealth to heal up and remove conditions, then rinse and repeat to the point of making one-on-one a royal PITA.

Now of course there are ways to counter some of it. But you have to bring not only your A game but a real knowledge of thief builds and what they can utilize just to stand a chance in PvP against them. Not so with many other classes.

And to make matters worse, the culling issue that’s still not completely fixed, contributes to the thief problem. You can’t prepare for what you can’t see, and you can’t fight what’s in stealth.

It’s a problem I hope they address over time without ruining the PvE side of being a thief.

Tired of Spamming My Loot/Interact Key

in Suggestions

Posted by: cipher.7438

cipher.7438

Can we just get it over with and have loot automatically go into our inventories?

(and if your inventory is full, then it can default to sparkling corpses and uncommon+ chests)

It was annoying to have to spam my F key to loot everything on the ground, especially when you get NPCs in the way that would prevent you from looting corpses with an annoying modal pop-up. And more annoyances… accidentally picking up someone’s banner or a random useless rock, broken bottle, or some other makeshift weapon on the ground.

After this latest patch it’s even worse. Now we have to loot corpses and loot chests with uncommon or higher ranked rarity gear. ug

And I assume there’s no magic auto loot workaround I’m mixing. Please enlighten me if one exists.

So the next time you character is running around behind the zerg in WvW, or running behind your group in fractals to loot corpses, please tell me you enjoy looking like a fool.

And to those who will inevitably try to call me a QQer, I have only one question: Do you enjoy spamming key presses to loot? Is there some sort of serious pwner skillz in spamming a key that loots and interacts with everything around you? Seriously. Literally. And all of those over-used words. Period. Fail.

You’re gaming on a laptop, and I have a feeling this was just a coincidence that coincided with the patch.

If you don’t already own one, rest your laptop on a cheap cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007639%20600028834&IsNodeId=1&name=Cooler

But more importantly, and less costly, perhaps it’s time to clean out the dust in your laptop. Open it up and clean it out according to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvJtclCWDFA

Your laptop should have its own thermal protection to adjust fan speeds and throttle CPU/GPU usage if it starts to overheat. So if it is overheating and you’re giving it ample room to cool and have the dust cleaned out, then either those mechanisms are failing or your GPU is on its way out the door. With a Core 2 Duo laptop it’s pretty old now.

What is wrong with this patch :

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

cipher.7438

I only partially agree with the OP.

The easiest solution, and one way Arenanet could have handled this, is to make separate rewards/gear obtainable with the laurels. Having the same thing done two different ways ultimately cheapens that gear as a whole.

But then again, I’m reminded that if the only thing threatened here is kitten for getting the gear in the first place, why is it such a big deal?

So OP, yes, I agree, but for different reasons with a different solution.

Daily Dodger

in Suggestions

Posted by: cipher.7438

cipher.7438

Solution: fight a mob that has a multi-arrow attack (plenty in Wayfarer Foothills). Just hit dodge at any moment in-between their multi-arrow attack. No need for twitch. You’ll get a few evades in that special attack.

And it’s only 10. Not like you’re going to kill your wrist with that one.

Also, I wear wrist braces (immobilizers) when I game. I don’t have RSI, but I’m likely to get it if I don’t protect my wrists by taking breaks and wearing the braces. If you game you’re already doing lots of repetition of movements any ways. Sorry you have RSI, but you get little sympathy from me for a dodge component of a daily which you don’t need to do and which will change each day.

Additional advice: I don’t use double tap. I set my dodge/evade to a single key (Q).

~or~

B.) The removal is not justified, which means they screwed up now by removing it.

Either way Arenanet is making is customers pay for their mistakes. Yeah, thanks. So now the hardcore & gold farmers get richer since the price of this ore will increase on the market. The quantity goes from a flood to a trickle, so the casuals will have to spend more time or pay more gold to get the 400 mats for either crafting or legendaries.

Thanks Arenanet for WIDENING the gap between the hardcores and the casuals. You guys just promoted even more gold farming which you’re supposed to be fighting. Nice job.

Gone are my dreams/reasons for leveling alts to 80s. And just when my first alt is at 79 before the patch. >.<

That actually sounds brilliant! It’s a win/win!

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/january-2013/

That is not a page with patch notes. That is a page with vague marketing to promote GW2.

It’s pretty darn shady in the MMO business not to have patch notes released right before a patch. A week is fine. A couple days, ok, though we’re getting close. But same day and no patch notes? Shady.

Patch Notes?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: cipher.7438

We generally don’t release patch information beforehand for the simple reason that things don’t always make it. Sometimes, we have to hold off on a feature at the last minute, and it’s better not to over-promise.

Translation: we PLAN to not meet all of our goals for each patch.

That’s sort of sad.

Why not just release the patch notes with the caveat that there is no guarantee we made all of the changes? Then a short time after the patch goes live have a community rep report back with the revised patch notes.

…or better yet just QA in house so you won’t have to make these excuses. ;-)

I love GW2, but the whole online forums, patch notes, etc. is a mess. The only thing half-way decent is the wiki, but I bet you guys write the wiki first and then develop from that, huh? lol

GPU wise. Mixture of medium & High settings
570m,660m,670m,680m, 7970m

and for graphic card:
GTX 560m/570m/580m/660m/670m
ati 7850M+

The OP is going to be very hard pressed to find most of those in the $1k budget. The $600 to $1k range is comprised of mostly 635, 640, 550, 650, etc., not x60, x70, or x80 range cards. A 650M is already hitting $900 and the only one I found with a 660M at $1k or less is a Lenovo.

You should be able to get those spec for $1000..but u will be pushing ur budget big time since trying to get both a good CPU AND a good GPU is only possible at the $1000 and above mark.

Everyone tried CHKDSK and got no errors, they also tried memtest, reinstalls, new gfxdrivers, total reinstall of gfxdrivers etc. to the list.
Basically: you name it, people tried it (with no errors showing on their end) to no avail.

One other note. This problem is definitely GW2 specific. I’ve been running Tera and WoW all day long for two days now with no crashes or any problems at all. There’s nothing wrong with my PC. Someone please address this issue and stop with the “run repair again” answers. It’s old already, and isn’t fixing the real problem that’s causing the file corruption in the first place.

Could you give us a run-down of your PC, such as Windows version and 32 or 64-bit, drive(s) you’re using, and a DXDiag report file? It might be GW2 specific to your PC as thousands of others play without any issue and without getting this message. Also, for clean installs, did you download the client or are you installing it from a DVD?

Saying “nothing wrong” with your PC or “you name it, people tried it” doesn’t help troubleshoot the issue. That’s just trying to put the burden of the issue of your install on Arenanet instead of troubleshooting it on your end. It could be your PC or how the GW2 client is misbehaving with your specific configuration. But one thing is for sure: plenty of people don’t have this problem. So what we need to do is troubleshoot why it doesn’t work for you guys and gals instead of prematurely laying blame around.

An AMD 5670 card is mid-range for 2009 technology (packaged for early 2010 release), and you’re trying to run at HD resolution of 1920×1080. Otherwise you have plenty of memory and your CPU is fine.

But before grabbing a new video card, make sure you troubleshoot performance….

1.) Have you tried the new 12.11 package for AMD drivers? And have you tried the older 12.8 package for AMD drivers? Newer drivers doesn’t always mean better performance for older generation AMD cards.

2.) Have you installed the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard from ASUS’s website? BIOS update from the same place?

3.) After trying all of the above, if you’re still getting poor performance, try running at a lower resolution and see what the framerate difference is. It’s probably going to look ugly, but if it’s faster then you’re hitting a performance wall somewhere on your PC.

To help with performance on a low-end CPU I’d change your in-game settings that affects distance and number of items rendered on the screen at one time. And yes, you can overclock your CPU, but I’d only do so if you’re running a 3rd-party CPU cooler or have a case with extra cooling. A lot of pre-built systems are horrible for overclocking.

Thanks for attaching the DxDiag report.

CPU is nice, plenty of memory, and running 64-bit Windows 7.

1.) As for your video card the report just starts “AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series”. Is that a 6930, 6950, 6970, or 6990?

2.) Update your BIOS here. The latest is version F11 from 2012, but they have multiple updates from 2011 to 2012.

3.) Your CPU’s default clock speed is 3.1 GHz. You overclocked it to 3.4GHz. Have you done a thorough test (ie: Prime 95) for hours at that overclock speed? When you’re troubleshooting things and reach a dead end, always use stock speed to test.

4.) You’re using the latest AMD video drive package 12.11 (driver version 9.10.8.0). Your 6900 series card is from 2010 tech. I never trust AMD to have bug-free latest drivers. Roll back to a 2011 driver or something before the 12.10 package to test. Try 12.8 to test

5.) I see driver listings in your DirectX Diag file like “PCI standard host CPU bridge”, “PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge”, and a lot of others with “standard” in their name. That means you’re using default Microsoft drivers for those parts of your motherboard. Have you downloaded and installed the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard? Download and install the [url=http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3908#dl]following drivers from this page[url]…

5a.) AMD Chipset Driver
5b.) Realtek Function driver for Realtek Azalia audio chip
5c.) Realtek LAN Driver
5d.) Etron USB 3.0 Driver (might as well while you’re here)

6.) What graphics settings have you tried in-game?

7.) You have a lot of DirectX filters installed, including ones from Sony. Do you have Sony software installed? Remove it temporarily to troubleshoot and see if the Sony listings are remove from the DXDiag report as a last resort.

I hope at least something there helps. :-)

AMD 7950 vs 660Ti

You just opened the possibility of an AMD vs. NVIDIA flame by fanboys on both sides.

In all honesty, I do have some favoritism for NVIDIA, especially their drivers. But I would opt for the newer card with the newer tech, which is the GTX 660 Ti. I run a GTX 680 and absolutely love it along with the new drivers for the 600 series with adaptive vsync (works on older gen NVIDIA cards as well).

The 7000 series from AMD is a great run, but it’s aging. It offers better value for your money, but it’s not always the best performer unless you plan to use your GPU for general processing (ie: CAD, Adobe products, Folding, etc.) in addition to gaming. AMD runs circles around NVIDIA for general processing in those sort of applications. Both companies also have other lines of video cards specifically designed for that though.

So again, I’d go with the 660 Ti if you mostly use it for gaming. Newer tech, very good drivers, and competitive with AMD’s offerings. If you went to the 670 (one step up) or the 650 (one step down), then the comparison of AMD vs. NVIDIA starts to favor AMD cards in my book.

And remember, specs are meaningless when it comes to comparing AMD and NVIDIA. It’s like comparing Apples and Oranges. The two companies utilize performance of their GPUs in different ways to achieve a similar price to performance point of their products.

Corrupted Files Causing Crashes

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: cipher.7438

cipher.7438

Of course we know plenty of others don’t have this problem, so it’s something related to either your PC, your install, or how the GW2 is misbehaving on your PC.

People talk of doing a repair, etc., but has anyone actually completely uninstalled/wiped the GW2 client from their PC and installed a clean copy?

Also crashing doesn’t equal corrupted files. The two can be related, but there are exponentially more reasons for crashes than just corrupted files. In my opinion the GW2 client isn’t very stable, and even under near-perfect conditions it still takes a nose dive on me once a month or so, especially after new patches and world-wide events like Lost Shore.

The OP listed off the exact error, and it could absolutely be due to corrupted files. Since GW2 is just one big file that contains many others files, it’s not easy to troubleshoot this from a user’s perspective. But other factors could be causing models/textures not to load. I think the client just spits out the corrupted file error message when it can’t load things. So I’d also do troubleshooting within the client’s settings, with your drivers, Windows, and your hardware if a clean install doesn’t help.

Your testimony of having a “great” Internet connection isn’t helpful. What would be helpful is knowing if your connection is dropping packets and finding your average and maximum latency to the GW2 servers at any given moment. There’s a lot of things that can affect your connection, from your PC to the GW2 servers and every hop in between.

1.) Where are you connecting from in the world?

2.) What GW2 world (server name) are you connecting to?

3.) Do you use just the built-in Firewall in Windows or do you have additional firewall or security suite software installed? Or do you use the Mac beta client or running GW2 in a copy of Windows via bootcamp or something?

4.) Have you done trace routes to test for latency on individual hops and to see if your connection at some point between you and the servers are dropping packets? Use free software such as WinMTR or VTrace to check.

Bot Hot Spots

or actual players using botting scripts while not at their pc or something.

Another possibility is botting while at the PC/game. And some of the gold farmers do this as well (ie: multiple PCs in front of them, KVM switching of them, or virtualized). I’ve encountered genuine gold farmers in LOTRO before with fairly primitive scripts, since they sweared to me a few minutes later in broken English when I messed up their script’s automation and it got their characters killed by aggroing multiples in one area.

So yeah, there’s certainly that component. I merely speak of the people I’ve seen in game who blindly label every sort of farming activity as botting. I’m not sure what Arenanet’s stance is on attended botting (running scripts while being in front of that PC), but I don’t do that. I’d rather play the game.

Are Black Lion Key runs an exploit?

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: cipher.7438

cipher.7438

The Black Lion chests are there purely to make Arenanet money. And I’m perfectly happy with that. It lets the more gullible among us spend money to get gems to get keys to open the chests. When those gullible players eventually realize that they’re not worth it, that form of income for Arenanet/NCSoft will dry up for that one person. But the cycle continues for gullible new subscribers.

The only thing worthwhile I’ve ever received from Black Lion chests are 1.) 25 Stacks of Black Lion Salvage Kits, and 2.) 50% Karma Boosters. And I can get both of those items without ever opening a single Black Lion Chest. Worse, those chests don’t guarantee one of those two items, so only a fraction of the time do you get something worthwhile.

As another poster said, not worth the effort. Spend your time in a high-level zone farming mobs, dragon event chests, running explore mode dungeons, or running even level number fractals instead, preferably 10+. I have a ton more fun while doing dungeons and fractals anyways.

Bot Hot Spots

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: cipher.7438

cipher.7438

There’s been quite a lot of knee-jerk reaction in-game with people hyper-sensitive to bots. It’s understandable, but at the same time it’s annoying when players don’t know the difference between a bot and a player doing their own farming routine.

Some of these areas people are referring to are prime farming locations for 400 level mats and high-level rare/exotic drops. That’s the reason the reported locations line up with possible botting activity as well.

Running around in a pattern to farm an area does not mean that character is being run by a bot. And worse, the AI some of these botters/gold farmers have honed over the years and years of MMO games are pretty sophisticated. The only possible signs people have are nonsense names and highly systematic/accurate/robotic movement. Even then that’s not a sure thing since accounts are hijacked to be used for botting and players running a farming routine can appear systematic.

Report the individuals you think are bots, but please stop the shame/blame game of accusing everyone else of botting. I’m glad Arenanet doesn’t allow screen caps and naming of characters here. I have been accused of botting several times by people who are either jealous or clueless, take your pick, of me quickly clearing an area of mobs while farming. Funny how they quickly shut it when I reply back in proper English with a firm “please stop it” message, though worded a little less directly than that.

Because of that I can thank Arena.net for creating a wonderful game, despite its flaws.

Yup, many flaws. I appreciate the game they’ve released and only hope that their 1st quarter 2013 updates live up to the promise of strengthening existing content and fixing bugs/issues.

Good job Anet, absolutely nothing wrong with this game, no sir. The drop rate is just fine and the people that are trying to gather materials for 3-5 hours at a time with no drops are just acting entitled. Also the magic find works wonderfully, I love when I put on MF gear it helps keep my bags neat and tidy by lowering the amount of stuff that is dropped. All in all, I wouldn’t change a thing, especially when I fight veteran and champion mobs, they help me kill time without adding stuff to my bags which would overburden me, thanks!

Dripping with sarcasm, but yeah, I agree. Horrid drop rates, champ/vet mobs that give nothing special, and magic find issues with tiers vs. MF percent. I only hope they’ll fix all of these because the game is great otherwise.

Mini-Pet Slot

in Suggestions

Posted by: cipher.7438

cipher.7438

I agree with the OP.

Arenanet, I’d go even further and suggest this…

1.) Make the entire mini pet collection available as a separate inventory UI that’s available almost anywhere and everywhere in-game. That UI could look at act just like the collection tab in our bank, but with only mini pets accessible. That will solve the carrying-only-one-pet-around-in-inventory problem.

2.) Tie this panel to a new control shortcut where people could assign a key to open/close it just like our inventory. That will solve the no-one-uses-mini-pets situation.

3.) Keep mini-pets active between loading screens and even character log-in/out events. If a user want’s to put away their mini pet, they can double-click its inventory item. This doesn’t require any additional equip UI/slot/whatever, just a persistent state on each given character. That will solve the want-quick-slot-for-mini-pets issue.

:-)

On the flip side I’ve run up to meta-events that completed before I arrived, didn’t give me any medal or completion, and I was able to loot the chest.

This happened with the “Seraph Assault on Centaur Camps” meta-event. I think the chest was not the final one, but at some point mid-way because I stuck around after looting the chest to continue with the rest of the event to receive medals in other portions.

I think chests can be a little bugged sometimes. Fortunately, unlike the OP, I’ve always had chests spawn for me in the dragon world events.

Thank you Arenanet for being adamant about your stance on cheating/exploiting (ie: banning the accounts of those who’ve gone out of their way to profit from exploits). It keeps the game’s economy in check and continues to reward those who play the game for fun and put forth the effort to gain resources as intended.

There’s always going to be strategies for profiting within the game’s economy, but I’m glad you’re addressing the blatant abuses of that system.

Names in WvWvW

in Suggestions

Posted by: cipher.7438

cipher.7438

I hope they allow this. It would be nice to see regulars and remember who they were based on name (not appearance) so that we can hone our competitive strategies. If I know that the character “Bob” favors a specific build from my encounters with him in the past, I can better prepare myself in future encounters. Makes it much easier than trying to remember what armor/look “Bob” had one day vs. the next. And of course if “Bob” chooses not to show his name, that’s fine too. It’s a trade of vanity for edge and vice versa.

So why not enable names? Block all whispers, ignores, and /say as usual between servers, but allow people to show names as an option they can toggle on/off.

Maguuma Explorer 165/166. Is it bugged?

I was at 165/166 and missing Aurora’s Remains in Brisban Wildlands (on the western edge). It’s a decently large area, but I never had a reason to go there since there’s nothing to get. Just a Dynamic Event and that’s it.

For anyone else stuck on one of these explorer achievements, just compare your map with the ones in the wiki and see which white names you don’t have. I was pouring over the maps until I learned that each explored area has a name visible on the map. Then it was easy.

After finding the area, it was fun to explore it and solo the group event when you’re high level. :-)

Please RESET Borderland locations!

The fact that you don’t even know server transfers are free…really makes you look…idiotic.

The fact that you don’t know free server transfers are temporary… well, not going to stoop to your level of name-calling. Because that would make me look “idiotic”.

From the official wiki, it will cost gems at some point, as it was originally scheduled to be a paid service…

Can I change servers?

Yes. You can change your home world. There will be a limit of one such transfer every seven days per account; each transfer will cost 1,800 gems. After a transfer, all existing and future characters on your account will play in the new world.

So let’s see that argument in the future when the transfers cost gems and more people complain about this without Arenanet fixing the problem.

Why argue for a painful work-around or bandage when the developers can fix the problem? Oh that’s right, because people apparently love arguing for the sake of arguing on forums. rolls eyes

ComingTo WvW on 12/14 (renamed)

in WvW

Posted by: cipher.7438

cipher.7438

Could you please add a borderlands rotation every week at WvW resets? For example: a server is green one week, blue the next, red the next, etc. instead of depending upon which servers get the most points.

I’m on Tarnished Coast, and we pretty much always get more points than our competition for the past month (Fort Aspenwood, Yak’s Bend, Crystal Desert, etc.). So we’re always green. We’re always on the same borderlands. We never control any significant number of keeps/forts in other borderlands, so we never get a chance to complete our 100% exploration. Same is true for other servers: they’ll almost always be stuck on blue or red and therefore never get a chance to complete green borderlands.

Changing this to rotate through the colors each week would help everyone. Thanks.
