I hate the scum that send these, looking at the worry they cause. I hope karma comes back to bite them in the ‘kitten’.

The thing that gets me is the fact that they still have major flaws in the game since release – eg. the TP – not being able to sort by armour type/foods etc etc etc.

They obviously do not have enough resource working on the game. this is such a shame as, as much as I love the game, these things are starting to get me down and I can’t be the only one

ANET designed this poorly. There should be no bags for anything if you stand there and afk.

They should have made the rescue a personal achievement (obviously not with 1200) and then maybe made a global achievement for 1200 rescued for the people that have reached the personal achievement.

The bag at the end should not be given unless people participated in some way. insert random criteria here.

The only other way is to delete all your characters, you can then change for free (once every 7 days so choose carefully).

For those of you using 32 bit systems, try this (can be reversed if it doesn’t help)

1) Right-click Command Prompt in the Accessories program group of the Start menu
2) Click Run as Administrator
3) At the command prompt, enter:
bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072
4) Restart the computer

To disable the 3GB switch:
1) Right-click on the Command Prompt in the Accessories program group of the Start menu
2) Click Run as Administrator.
3) At the command prompt, enter:
bcdedit /deletevalue IncreaseUserVa
4) Restart the computer

This error Error: Fatal disk-error (1117) on write points to an issue with your HDD. I see gw2 is on an ‘F’ drive on your pc. If you have multiple drives, I would install the game on a different one. Then I would run a scan disk on F and see what it comes up with.

I used to play a game called Asheron’s Call – really old mmo – there were no walls in this game, you could literally walk from one end of the map to the other and up and down mountains with ease, was awesome!

This is certainly something that anet would look into and I wouldn’t be surprised if they dish out a ban if there is enough evidence.

I think the reason why it’s taking so long is that you say it has been going on for months – so it might take a while for them to go through all the logs.

The one frustrating thing about support is the lack of emails advising you that they are still investigating and you haven’t been forgotten!

Here’s hoping this ‘insert kitten here’ will get banned.

Scary huh? This email is obviously fraudulent with a fairly good email spoof designed to harvest your account email/password, add you to a botnet, then drain all gold and other valuables from your account.

As I have never given this accounts email out to anyone, I can only assume that somehow the GW2 email database has been owned by someone and now public to spammers.

Please remember to watch your accounts for suspicious activity, turn on two factor authentication, and of course don’t give out your password to strangers (or use 123password).

You assume incorrectly. Perhaps you should use google and look at the different methods that are used to harvest email addresses. One of them being sending an email to millions of possible email combinations – one of the correct ones happened to be yours.

Can we see metrics of those registered for GW2 and those not registered for GW2? Because if someone creates an email exclusively for GW2 and they STILL get phishing emails, then that is a cause of suspicion.

How do you propose anet gets a list of how many people who do not have accounts so are not customers, get fake emails? I suppose they could try contacting the NSA and see if they have any information… ;-)

FYI, I get email for to reset my Blizzard Sony, and EA accounts all the time.

BTW, I have never had a Blizzard, Sony or EA account.

Looking at any MMO that exists out there, 90% of all equipment pieces in any game, are reskins of other pieces that exist in the game already. It doesn’t matter if it is WoW, Everquest, Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Secret World, Guild Wars 2, Star Wars, or Wildstar. Hell, even many of Eve Online’s ships are reskinned versions of each other. You guys (players. not Anet) need to do a reality check when it comes to MMO’s before you go off complaining about reskinned items every single time you see one.

Me? I think the armor looks pretty good with the Globs of Poison forming up then dropping off of the gloves. There’s not enough poison related stuff in this game. We could also use more Crystal, Water, and Ice themed equipment, but, I’ll wait. Take your time Anet.

So because other MMO’s use a lot of reskins I should accept reskins. I got this game because Anet, players and youtubers made it sound like skins would play an important role in this game unlike other MMO’s. Yet it took them 15 months to release a new full armor set that’s not related to the gem store. And instead of releasing a new armor skin they make a reskin of a armor that has been released for only 1.5 months.
I’d say that’s pretty weird for a game where cosmetic stuff plays an important role.

I’m aware that other MMO’s use reskins a lot but I bought this MMO cuz they (Anet, players and youtubers) made it sound that it would play an important role like for example dungeons, that it wouldn’t be something like other MMO’s and not only MMO’s but other games as well but instead they aren’t doing anything different. I don’t get angry or sad when I see another reskin in a MMO like FFXIV cuz the developers, players and youtubers never made it sound like cosmetic stuff would be something to aim for, I don’t get angry or sad when I see another reskin in a game like Monster Hunter cuz the developers, players and youtubers never made it sound like cosmetic stuff would be something to aim for but in GW2 they did and that’s why I bought Guild Wars 2.

The only reality check I needed, and I was ashamed when I realized this, is that what developers, players and youtubers say doesn’t have to be true. However that and your reason is not a reason for me to accept what I see as flaws in this “Cosmetic MMO”.

This!! This game has beautiful art – they could make numerous beautiful armour sets – I just don’t understand why this isn’t happening. If they put 50% of them on the gem store they would make a mint.

You will need to open a support case – link is on the ‘account issues’ forum.
there are certain email providers that are blocking access to emails from anet – there is a thread explaining this on that forum too.

I would open a support case and set the reply to email as a different one so you can then answer their security questions and ask for email auth to be disabled or your account email to be changed.

Did you also supply your password?

I would strongly advise you to 1. remove the link from your post and 2. open a support ticket to change the email address associated with your account and explain to them that you have given your serial code to scammers.

*update on 18th. They have now asked me for an alternative email address, which I already gave them in an earlier email. I guess I will hear nothing again for another 5 days..losing the will to live.

There are thousands of tickets created every day, including duplicates that need to be closed, protests from players who know they did something wrong but try to argue their way out if it anyway, and people who are confused and ask about irrelevant topics. Sometimes it takes a while to get to your ticket.

I am not and never have argued this fact and, having worked on a first line service desk myself, know how this works. The point is, they should have a system in place that gives you know an eta on an answer – even if they said ‘within 5 days’ it would not have people wondering if they had been forgotten, or if their last email reply didn’t reach them. It is good practice to keep your customers informed.

It’s not portals that need fixing, it’s culling and door glitches.

Also, don’t spout such nonsense that numbers are dwindling because of portals – people get bored, the hop servers, they play other games, they pve. You have no facts to back up your suppositian.

My main is an ele, just in case you were wondering.
