So follow-up question: when do servers rotate in and out/ get rotated around?
How often do the WvW maps rotate? We just had ours rotate (went from blue to red, and base is in a different borderland). Just wondering how often this happens and what triggers it.
Thx.
You can’t sort by “heavy” “medium” and “light” yet? or by usable? really??
How about previewing multiple weapons, one in each hand??
Kinda ridiculous that these haven’t been implemented – very basic.
ah – that’s what I was thinking, but I wasn’t 100% sure.
It’s too bad, PVP would be a fun way to level!
I’m pretty spankin’ new to PVP, so please bear with me for the dumb question.
I’ve been doing the daily for the past week in PVP instead of PVE, and haven’t really understood how you earn level experience doing PVP. I’ve gleaned that the purple bar increases your rank as it grows, but I haven’t been able to tell how it translates back to experience.
Can anyone explain how you get experience towards your Character’s level in pvp?
I like the focuses that you can grip in-game, however, I think the best one hands down is The Anomaly.
I think it would be a great improvement to the focus line if there were more added of that nature – especially ones that follow an elemental based theme, for example:
- focus of flame (ball of flame surrounding the hand)
- focus of lightning (same idea)
- focus of ice
- focus of rock
For Necros, something green and smoky would be awesome.
Would be awesome for all the casters*

I agree with you OllllO, I personally don’t like the way a few of the legendary’s look. I’m not saying that I think they should introduce new legendaries because some people dont’ like the current ones, but I think that adding a new set once the current sub base has had enough time to attain 1-2 “Legendary 1.0’s” makes sense – always keep people wanting the next big thing!
not sure I understand your question – I’m just saying I like being excited at working towards something, which is why I think the legendary weapons are a really great concept. I just hope there is something planned to keep those who attain/have already attained their Legendaries interested, and something new for them to work towards.
Has there been anything (official) said with regards to any plans to release the next set of legendary weapons and or gear?
I’m just wondering because I’m working on mine right now, but I have a bad feeling that when I get it, I’m going to be like “YES! okay…now I don’t have anything to work towards”.
I think EQ did a really great job of always providing new expansions and even their Epic 2.0 weapons to keep giving players something “epic” to work towards.
I agree with you Shiren – I’m sure they’re not happy with CoF P1, but I was more wondering if they’ve made any mention of it, and indicated how high on their priority list it might be – ie. if we’ll be seeing a change in an upcoming patch.
From the sounds of it, nothing has been said, but I guess we’ll have to see just how high on their list it is in the next couple of patches.
if they choose to nerf it at all, you mean..?
that’s still pretty soon – why do you think they’ll now communicate something?
thx – so it’s just the non-mesmer and non-zerkers that are saying there should be one then, not that there is going to be.
I’ve heard a few things from people in-game that a CoF nerf is coming – but haven’t seen anything official.
Has anything official been communicated about this?
I’m sure this has been stated, but I’m a HUGE dual wield swords fan, and I think that it’s a huge miss in GW2 with the execution of this weapon combo.
First, I think the lack of key classes to use dual Swords is glaring (Ranger for example), but second, the animations are really simple and lackluster. The offhand sword is really boring, compared specifically to the offhand axe for Warriors.
If there’s an expansion that increases the level cap, I would recommend introducing some new 1-4 skills and improving the combinations to have some great animations for dual wield swords.
Even the wikipedia page references dual weilding swords!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranger_
thought that was kinda funny actually
I know GW2 isn’t following other games or stories, so it has no obligation to implement something like this – I just think that most people (or lets just say many) who play the Ranger class really look forward to dual wielding swords as part of the experience.
It’d be like not giving a sword and board to a warrior, even if they get a greatsword. The two sets are iconic to a warrior – just like a bow/ dual swords combo is iconic to a ranger.
Not sure I agree still, but valid points.

Not sure I agree – thieves get dual daggers.. which is kind of the staple weapon for that type of class. Aside from a bow, dual swords just seems to make sense for Rangers.
why shouldn’t players who work towards something be rewarded?
Like I said, I’m not talking about a large difference, but players who spend more time in dungeons etc. already have access to better gear, so why shouldn’t there be another tier?
with a 60 second cooldown.
It’s just one example of using a skill set for a utility skill – I’m not arguing that one specific example, but I’m sure many players use a weapon for this type of thing, and would benefit from a third weapon rotation
I agree with this – if people are going to spend hundreds of hours attaining a weapon, I think it should be at least a little bit better than an exotic weapon you can get from a random drop.
I’m not talking way better – but why should we not be rewarded for our dedicating to attaining a “legendary” weapon?
If the stats aren’t better – you should just rename them “aesthetically pleasing” weapons.
I’m finding it frustrating that as a Warrior I’m kind of stuck keeping my warhorn in my secondary weapon skill swap slot to gain swiftness. I’d love to be able to use two weapon sets, and toggle through to warhorn when I need the utility of swiftness.
I think that either these skills need to be tied to something other than a weapon skill, or a 3rd weapon skill swap option should be implemented.
Not sure what others think.
I would assume Guardians would agree with me for the same reason.
Fully agree with this – I just started playing a couple of months ago, and love the Ranger class, but it seems like a fundamental miss that Rangers can’t dual wield swords – especially when you’ve done such a fantastic job with Bolt! dual wielding Bolt with another sword (or another Bolt for those hardcore players) would be amazing.
It’s a crime that only warriors can dual wield swords, when Bow /DWS seems to be a quintessential part of the Ranger persona
