0×124 is, in just about every case, a hardware problem and the fact that it’s gotten worse over time supports that. It has nothing to do with the game and x6’s being compatible else there’d be a lot more posts on this.
Make sure all your drivers are updated, then either lower your overclock or increase the cpu/HT volts. If you’re not overclocking, increase those voltages anyway as it means your chip’s probably seen more than it’s share of thermal cycling.

Massive FPS-Problems since the Patch (seemingly worldwide?)

From before the halloween update: 28.1fps
From right now: 27.6fps
Seems well within the range of “no difference at all”. These aren’t exact to the pixel, but the FPS doesn’t change when you move left/right/up/down slightly and is why I chose this site as a benchmark. Night and day don’t matter either. Go and try it if you don’t believe me.
I’m not saying this is a bandwagon thread, I just don’t see anything besides the anecdotal “i think its slower” that’s posted after every, single, update.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/9ecfyw6c%28v=vs.80%29.aspx is the MSDN entry for the error you’re seeing. Not exactly helpful, but it means that something on your machine (either a program or registry setting) is overriding the start address. Google ‘Runtime Error R6030 CRT not initialized’ for an idea of what helped other people.
Doubt reinstalling any MSVC packages will help, but here are the ones I have:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable – x64 9.0.30729.4148
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable – x86 9.0.30729.4148
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable – 10.0.40219
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable – 10.0.40219
Edit: try running the game with the -repair switch just in case too.

About 8kbit/s incoming (16 packet/s) and 12kbit outgoing (18 packet/s) is what I see GW2 using, 95% of it going through TCP port 6112. It’s a very negligible amount of traffic compared to games like Dota2 and BF3 that stay at about 10x those rates at all times. Nothing wrong with the connection flags either. If the game was doing something non-standard, you’d be seeing many more people complaining about this.
I’d be calling up my ISP is this were happening to me. Doesn’t sound like a game or router issue.

I wasn’t aware desktop sandy/ivy had the circuitry for switchable graphics like Optimus laptops. It’s up to the system (or nvidia’s driver through profiles/rightclick) to pick the GPU, not even running as administrator will give a program those permissions.
Plug your monitor into the GTX670 and/or disable the HD4000.

@Home Style: go back to prime95, change the worker thread count to 2, and tell me what happens. Is there 100% total usage? Are your cores being maxed? No.
Also we’re hitting 75% CPU usage on a quad (not hyperthreading garbage) during the larger WvW and PVE battles, so even if ANet did make the game more parallel, we’d be seeing less than a 25% increase. I wouldn’t hold my breath for the 100-200% increase til the next couple years where part of that difference will come from next gen hardware and part of it from Arena.
FPS, GPU, CPU & Performance issues? (FAQ)

The /affinity is a mask that restricts GW2 to run only on the cores specified (55h = 0b01010101 = cores 2, 4, 6 and 8 ). For an FX-6100 you would need something like 15h (0b010101) although it’ll probably hurt performance more than help as GW2 does use more than 3 cores on a lot of occasions.
Why stick with just one
No idea how the video signal would have an impact on the software from a technical standpoint, but at least we figured it out. If you know someone with a monitor that has a DP port, see if you can borrow it for an evening. Rule out the adapters. Otherwise there might be something in Catalyst’s per-application profiles but I haven’t used AMD since the 5850’s.
It was good when you ran it on a single monitor via DVI, so it’s gotta be something to do with Eyefinity/Afterburner. Does it work with a single monitor connected to DP?
Interesting. I’ve got a 3x Surround setup, but all connected via DVI (afaik it’s impossible on AMD since they all have to be plugged into the same card). What happens if you adjust the OSD coordinates to somewhere in the middle of the middle monitor, something like 3000 / 500
AB settings I use are level: low, stealth: off and rendering mode: vector 3d on the global, no application-specific profiles. Hardware access: kernel as well. All different from Samfisher and no problem.
What else do you have running in the background?
Edit: post the error that gw2 gives if there is any.
(edited by deltaconnected.4058)
It’s probably a Windows setting somewhere, as some people get this and a lot of others don’t. Which, idk. I’d start with disabling UAC.
Open up a command prompt as admin and try
>ping -f -l 1472 guildwars2.com
(lower case L)
If it says it needs to be fragmented, check your router’s MTU setting (eg. set it to what your ISP says, or 1472-1492 for DSL/Fiber and 1500 for cable).

Hardware access: kernel, detection level: low, stealth: off.
I think those are the default settings except hardware access (which was needed for the BF3/BFBC2 punkbuster crash). Make sure you’re on the newest one, 2.2.5, just in case.
If that doesn’t help, then the last thing you could do is On-Screen Display → add a profile for GW2 → application detection to none. It’ll turn off the OSD and screenshot/recording features for GW2, but you’ll still have the fan profile.
It’ll be a very unpleasant experience even on low. That i7 is part of the ULV line (less wattage with much lower clocks), not the standard notebook one, so it’ll be just as much of a bottleneck as the HD4000.

Can't play on Desktop (works fine on Laptop)

I have been having this very problem as well. Both my boyfriend and I play on the same wireless network our landlord provides(both connected wirelessly.) He plays on a laptop, and has no issues. I play on a desktop and get frequent disconnections with the same code as the OP above. It is extremely odd. I have also tried turning off firewall etc, but it still occurs, sometimes more frequently than others. Not even sure where to begin looking for the problem. My troubleshooters cant find the issue with the network either, so any ideas would be helpful, thanks!
Interesting… does this happen all the time or only when you both play, and when both, does it matter who loads up GW2 first? The latter could mean a problem with your router’s UPnP settings or system.
If it’s just on your machine, wireshark might give a little more insight. Download, install start capturing on your wireless adapter (it’ll capture everything that uses the network), then load up and play GW2 until it disconnects.
Off the top of my head, the more common reasons are a flood of TCP retransmissions (problem with Tx/Rx power on your adapter), no route to host (clear DNS cache, or disable DNS cache service), and fragmentation (adapter MTU isn’t set at 1492 for DSL or 1500 for cable).
No easy way to troubleshoot these kinds of problems, so hopefully even a bit of that makes sense.
If you changed your password and someone knows it, yes, you should be very worried as it means your PC is compromised.

Copy/paste the .dat and should be good to go.
I’ll get WvW/Claw/Shatterer samples later in the day, but don’t expect them to be more than 10-15fps. Also, the 640m wouldn’t be enough, unless you know you can overclock it and not have it overheat. 650m or a 560m from the last generation is what you need for medium.
3 screenshots at medium setting, 1600×900. One thing to note is that 640m LE stock clocks are 500MHz so my 835 puts it at the same level as a 650m. The only way to overclock mobile keplers is through a vBIOS mod so it’s rarely a possibility.
If you do a little extrapolating based on vantage, the 630m is ~56% worse (less than half the FPS) and the 670m will be ~36% better.

Before there would be scenes where the environment would go missing completely and make it feel like you’re walking on air (with AO enabled). Have yet to encounter that with these.
Software can’t damage hardware unless you run with bad cooling and let it overheat again, and again, and again until the thermal cycling splits the silicon.
Did the BSOD have any driver name on it? If it didn’t, then your memory is going bad (the only two possibilities when all subcodes are empty).

Why not look at usage in GPU-z and find out yourself which is the bottleneck?
@LordGondo: I’ve seen people say ‘chkdsk /f c:’ (in command line) has helped. Never had anything like this happen on either mine or my friends machines so I can’t make any guarantees.
The other usual culprits are a power supply issue or overheating. Try running furmark and prime95 at the same time and see what happens.
@Nutty: as you will find in every post about this on the internet, software doesn’t cause hardware to overheat. It points out flaws in the cooling.

People never cared about single-threaded performance during the P4 era because back then there only was one core. If you compare the max FPS for any given game (not min or avg), AMD’s far behind.

On average, the FX8150 will be about 15% better than a 2500k in perfectly threaded applications (x264, synthetics, anything that can spawn 8 independent instances of itself), but this comes at the cost of being 50% slower in single-threaded performance. Most applications are gonna fall into the latter category, all games included.
Wouldn’t bother upgrading to Piledriver either as it made no improvement over Bulldozer.

There is simply no comparison between AMD and Intel. That is, literally, a 100% increase going from an FX-8150 to a 2500k when the environment is limited by a single thread.

The problem is that your friend went for the budget option and is now getting budget results. That is by no means an ultra-capable rig (excluding shadows on ultra). Difference between “other games” and GW2 is that GW2 is an MMO so you can’t compare what you get in BF3 to here.

Blizzard and ANet didn’t sabotage their games to run worse on AMD. AMD sabotaged itself when it released CPUs with abysmal performance-per-cycle.
A logical hyperthreaded/bulldozer’d core will help only when there is zero branching in code, which is the distinct minority of software (think x264, prime95 and such that spend the majority of the time crunching numbers and not following if-else statements). Most games and day-to-day tasks are the exact opposite of those and can even experience a slowdown when the system decides to assign 2 threads onto the same physical core.
I’m no game developer, but it’s not always possible to just “multithread” something. The design makes a chain of dependencies, and nothing can change that short of a new design.

It shows what the usage looks like after Windows’ balancing. There’s no way I know of to get a real-time or history graph of each thread, so it’s limited to watching it in windowed mode. The highest thread on the list will always be using 20-25% on a 4core system.
Your GPU came factory-OC’d. To rule out hardware instability, underclock it to what AMD says is reference and try playing again.
Reduce the 7850 to reference clocks (with Afterburner or PrecicisonX).
