While I understand it, the flower skip in TA Forward I always found fun, it’s not like it’s much harder to do the run, it just takes a little longer (depending on how good you are at jumping). Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think we should be able to do things that skip bosses but little things like finding new jumping puzzles in dungeons to let you skip trash is just good fun in my book.

I miss that one :-( I solo’d that path up to the skip a few times just to explore around up there.

That was the first time I realized that the entire dungeon is in the roots of a gigantic, gorgeous, awe-inspiring tree. Like huge. Bigger than I would have guessed.

But now you can’t even see the tree anymore, and it makes me sad :-(

Quite related, also read this post, especially the reply by Laintime that I’ve linked directly. Play how you want, but find likeminded players first.

I’ll be a bit more helpful. Please read the FAQ stickied in this forum, especially the topics under the heading “Controversial Topics, By Maxinion, but Lilith supports”.

To be more to the point: The game has been out for two years with no substantial changes to the dungeons. We have literally run these same paths hundreds of times. Several of us here shared our Hobby Dungeon Explorer achievement here the other day, which counts how many paths have been run since unlocking dungeon master. Many of us have done literally thousands of runs through these paths.

After doing the same path a few hundred times, we look for new ways to have a challenge, which often means practicing speed clearing techniques.

And stacking properly does require a fair amount of skill. If you don’t want to just keep dying and being carried, you still need to pay attention to the boss, dodge, block, stack might, etc etc. And guess what — we do still have fun playing this way.

If you don’t like running dungeons like that, try making your own LFG — there’s nothing stopping you. Post an LFG like “p1, casual run, no stacking/skipping, all welcome” and go have fun. You don’t have to join groups that don’t match your playstyle — make your own group.

Of course not. But they could improve reflect damage to be more reasonable in such situations, or at the very least make the projectiles unreflectable, but still blockable.

Throwing up my wall/fb at an enemy’s projectiles and still getting having my party get one shot is a let down. Yes, it will only happen once before we figure it out, it’s still bullkitten.

OP, good job summing it up. I think we all agree with you, and would like to see these improvements in future dungeons, if any such thing will ever happen.

And as Purple said, mountain goating is a fun way to explore. You have to fight slightly more intelligent enemies — they don’t walk into meat grinders, but they do think that invisible walls will stop exploiters.

I’ve always wondered why the LFG tool doesn’t let you screen via the usually pop up.

Maybe we could rebrand the old gw2lfg site for selling. The only way that works is via /whisper or /join, so folks can’t just drop it and destroy your instance.

The real complaint in this thread should be:

You have to run fractals to get the backpiece, but FotM have a major progress blocking bug. If you’re unlucky enough to draw the cliffside fractal, there’s a good chance you’ll have to destroy the instance when the hammer disappears.

BTW, the “Play how you want” mantra is bull. Us dungeon folks have to go grind world bosses or WvW for obscene amounts of time to get enough dragonite to do anything. Get used to it, ANet doesn’t care that you have to do things you don’t like. I also lol regularly at “We don’t make grindy games”. HA!

5 level 1 runs? That’s nothing. We have waaaaaay better reasons to go yell at dragonite ore.

If you don’t like the pizzas on the table, just post your own order. Something like “1 vegan pie, no stacking, anyone welcome” should do the trick. If some “elitist” joins and starts whining about the lack of meat, you can kick them from your table for not reading the posting. It works both ways, you have the power to do this.

If you’re serious about eating some laid-back pizza where you just want to enjoy eating it without the pressure to finish each slice as quickly as possible, you may want to consider joining a casual pizza guild to make it easier to find like-minded pizza consumers.

Most of us have eaten these same pizzas hundreds of times by now. They’re just not that interesting to us anymore — they taste exactly the same as the other 500 times we’ve eaten them. What we enjoy about pizza is trying to push the envelope and finish each slice at record speeds. Don’t blame us because stacking ingredients provides the greatest reward per time. This is just how pizzas were designed. If the chef didn’t want it that way, he’d fix it, no?

Heh, done right…that would be pretty good. We had a pear + arugula pizza at a local italian place and it was fantastic. Fruit on pizza == awesomeness, just gotta leave the tomato sauce off (or replace it) if you do it.

As for pineapple, I like it better on pizza than raw. It just gets so sweet and juicy…

At the end of the day most of it is the social end of it. Dave, remember the Arah run with Acid where we just couldn’t seem to get our kitten together and we had to have spent an hour wiping, just stupid mistake after stupid mistake? Had to be one of the best nights ever, we just couldn’t stop laughing. Poor Ben thought he had the A Team that night. Its the stuff like that that keeps me playing.

I feel the same way. Running with new folks keeps it interesting and fun, and some of my favorite runs have been the most horrible :-)
