Pretty much everything in this game is account wide, so I don’t see this happening. You can always just transfer to another world for free once a week.
I liked the idea of the Guild Hall, too. Have guild achievements and have trophies in your Guild Hall. Ahh, I wish. (:
This game has open raids which folks refuse to even attempt to figure out. There are 1500+ DEs which are open world raids.
Have you made any attempt to solve these? Especially in Orr?
Here’s the strat for every open world event in this game:
1) Show up
2) Die
3) Zerg
4) LootIn other words, open world events cannot contain the mechanics, strategy, detail or challenge that a large-scale guild-focused encounter can, where communication and coordination can be expected and required.
Lol, this is SO true.
I’m not a level 80 yet so I really don’t know what is offered at level 80 at this point. I’m not sure what “The Lost Shores” brought to the table…but…in terms of raiding…why not offer a new super uber leveling map where you will need to have tons of players working together in this map that will still have the same type of dynamic event systems going on?
But, really difficult to pull off similar to a raid but not static and the same thing each time, but yet still in the open world that anyone can go to and isn’t limited to having a group of 20 to enter.
I think this pulls off the right kind of end game content that would fit in nicely with Guild Wars 2 and the way the questing works.
There is a “endgame zone” that people are suppose to go to, kill the risen and take temples. The problem is the place is normally empty since Cursed Shore came along. All people do there is farm two evens, and when they aren’t up they either wait or go do another.
When ArenaNet first started talking about Orr is sounded amazing to me, and I thought “who needs raiding”. Well once I hit 80 and went there I was disappointed. There is more risen than players and no one really works on getting the temples. When we finally went after a temple we failed five times because there wasn’t enough players.
It seems the only endgame right now is going for your legendary and sitting in Lions Arch spamming the map with LFG. There needs to be something bigger.
But that’s the problem, Fildydarie. ArenaNet is making Guild Wars 2 different from every other mmo, so we might not ever see any sort of large scale dungeon/raid or more large scale challenging content.
Yes, it would have to be shown to only the player. I’m not sure if this would happen in Guild Wars. But I know if World of Warcraft or Rift if you weren’t doing the dps/damage they wanted, you weren’t getting in. Now obviously that made sense in a way because most bosses had a rage timer or you had to burst something down quick, but I don’t believe there is any need for that in Guild Wars 2.
In Guild Wars 2 I think it’s more about staying alive and keeping your people up. All “endgame” gear is the same other than the slight difference between Ascended gear and dungeon gear. Obviously someone running glass cannon is going to be doing more than someone that went with a support roll.
That’s my take on it anyway.
I posted on this, too. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/To-Raid-or-Not-to-Raid/first#post1133065
There needs to be something else added to Guild Wars 2 endgame PvE. It doesn’t have the be a gear treadmill or a grind. It just need to allow more people, be bigger, have more challenging bosses (better mechanics/phases) and give people that rush after they finally down a boss.
I thought meta events were ArenaNets substitute for raiding, but turns out it’s just a big zerging faceroll, in my opinion.
That’s another thing. There is nothing large scale for guilds to do together. You only have those five people doing dungeons and that’s it. No one really levels or does meta events together, nor do we go to Orr. At least the guild I have been in.
I don’t think we really need this in the game. Other games put in dps meters, and we all know what that caused.
Raids wouldn’t have to be a grind. Dungeons atm are not grinds, the only grind we have is fotm and that’s because that’s how you get ascended rings. Nobody said raids have to have better gear to grind for. Maybe it can rewards skins that you can use to put on your items, skins without any stats. That wouldn’t require anybody to grind unless they really want that skin or they are a pve player and find stuff like that fun.
However, i find it hard for raids to work with real cordination in this game as there are no roles. A dungeon atm consists of 5 people that run through zerging every mob doing their own thing, there is no structure behind any dungeons, besides fotm abit.
Exactly, you pretty much said some things stated in the videos. People are just scared of raids because of their experience in past mmos. There is this huge treadmill in other games were you have to farm the same raid or boss to get the one piece of gear you need to move on the the next raid or dungeon. In my eyes, that’s grinding. Dungeons now are pretty much the same way, but at least you get your own loot and tokens and have more variety of armor.
When I go to Orr I hardly see anyone. Most people are at Cursed Shore waiting for events so they can farm them. I have done the Gates of Arah event, and I have to say, it was pretty hard. But all you have to do is stay out of the circles and wait for confusion to fall off so you’re not taking so much damage.
All I’m saying is the game needs more coordinated or challenging end game. Whether that be better meta events in zones or adding harder dungeon/raids. It just seems there is nothing that gives me that rush when downing something because it is so easy.
I don’t think things would be considered a grind if they weren’t so faceroll to do. From the dungeons I have done, the only thing challenging about the bosses is that they hit hard. I have only seen maybe a few mechanics from bosses since I have been playing this game.
All I know is that all the games that copied WoW sadly disappear sooner or later.
So out of all that, where did you get that? This game to begin with is nothing like World of Warcraft. Raids in this game would just be harder dungeons with more people.
To raid or not to raid? Not to raid!
Nice feedback I suppose.
Since raids are pure and boring grind…… Not to raid.
And fractals and dungeons aren’t?
Before we start. I would like to see clean conversation in this thread. This is mostly covering PvE “endgame” side of things. There is some lengthy video watching and possibly some reading.
I’m a PvE guy and I feel Guild Wars 2 is missing something, something…big. I have been thinking about this for a while and have been debating on posting about it until after watching a GuildCast video that was posted on the Dec. 27th on Youtube. I don’t really keep up with these, but this title really got me.
Here’s the video: Please watch!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQx9gIlaQ-s (I have no idea how to embed videos)
I recommend watching this whole videos, but for the purpose of this video I will point out the related topics.
32:49 – 44:47 Mostly guild/social talk and some endgame
53:03 – 57:52 More on endgame
Now assuming you watched the video, how does everyone feel about this? I think something is missing both on PvE and the PvP side. Obviously there is more to do on the PvP side with the whole WvW thing, and all that’s missing is some of the things said in the video.
I feel we should have something like raids. These meta events that were meant to replace raids just aren’t cutting it. You sit and spam one thing, revive players and wait for the next phase to begin. Where is the challenge to some thing other than bosses hitting hard? I’m probably going to get told “then go back to World of Warcraft” for this, but I miss raiding. The feeling of getting a big group together and bringing down a powerful enemy that takes many tries is just satisfying to me.
I don’t know, maybe I’m the only one. I just feel like this game needs something to make it stick. The game is amazing but there IS something missing. Please don’t start a war over this. I know people weren’t expecting raids in this game, but I thought they were suppose to make something to substitute for them.
I’m not much of a PvP guy, but I would like to see arenas (2v2/3v3/5v5) put into the game.

I meant to post this in Suggestions.

If you want to reply there.

How do you do this!? >.< I searched the forums and every time someone asked they wouldn’t get a respond- like no one knew. Please tell me.
Yeah, like the others said. You probably have him on passive.
I keep my pet in passive and have the attack and follow binded to I can manage them better.
I joined this guild last night and so far activity wise, it’s looking good. It was 10pm EST and there were 47 members online and all three of their dungeon Mumble channels were full along with five or so people in the lobby.
I’m hoping to do more activities with these guys and getting to know everyone better. (:
Any more guilds?
Ranger is pretty good for a novice. I’m leveling one now, currently level 51. They are a run profession. Damage could be better, but I am running with a bear since it seems to be the only pet that can stay alive through a whole fight without having to manage him.
I want
-New Fractals
-More Ascended gear.
-Class changes
-New zones
-New dungeons
-New dungeon armor (other than Ascended gear)
-MORE/BETTER GEM STORE ITEMS!
Add that one thing that seems to be missing in PvE. I feel there is one.
Sent you a PM asking some questions.
I’m on Tarnished Coast now. Right now we’re in last in WvW, probably because of holidays. I think most the population is RP though. I find people in random places all the time.
I’m more of a PvE guy but wouldn’t mind some WvW either, mainly just for monthly and badges. Anyway, is there a good world that has active PvE people? Seems like when I go into Orr there isn’t anything going on. Most people are just at Cursed Shore waiting for those two events.
Some events that people were farming in Cursed Shore have been nerfed, along with drop rates, is what I have been hearing. I haven’t even been playing for a month yet. The game does seem like it’s missing something though, but that’s probably just me after playing World of Warcraft for so long.
In this game you’re never too late. It’s not like in other games where new raids would come out and you have to do those first, but no one else is doing them. That’s being left behind. In Guild Wars 2 you level then start doing dungeons or pvp to get your armor and weapons. Isn’t much to it really…
Not sure if you figured it out yet or not.
Gem prices are:
800- $10.00
1,600- $20.00
2,800- $35.00
4,000- $50.00
To purchase gems just open the Trading Post (O) and ‘buy gems’ is in the upper left corner.
Yes. Open the Trading Post (O) and it should be under the upgrades tab. It cost 1,600 gems at the moment, but will jump back up to 2,000 when they take it off sale.
I wouldn’t mind it if target dummies showed total damage/DPS. But I feel it would add a unnecessary competition between players in PvE. Even if the meter did not show other players DPS, people would still be posting theirs and asking for others. I also feel people would pay attention too much to what their DPS is and go totally tunnel vision on something.
That’s my opinion though.
I wish the time difference wasn’t so big.
Morning everyone!
Added some information and changed the title.
Afternoon, everyone.
Bump
Not really. I found some dungeon crawling guilds but I want a bit of WvW added in so I can work on getting Badges of Honor.
Here was my original post if you want to look through the guilds that posted.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/Post-closed-Started-new-one/first#post1099441
Good luck on finding a guild, Thisisu. I have also been looking for a PvE/WvW guild, but one that focuses more on PvE.
Before anything. I’m in US on EST. I consider myself a semi-hardcore player. I like the challenging side of games, but it is still a game. I have a level 80 but after messing around with the ranger a bit, I decided to level one (currently 42). I know what being part of a guild is, so I’m willing to help out member when I am able to in anyway I possibly can.
I have a working microphone and know how to use various chat programs. If you are located on another world/sever, I won’t mind transferring if I know your guild is a good fit. If you are a PvX guild, PvE must be the main focus with some PvP on the side.
PLEASE READ!
What I’m looking for:
- Active guild! I do not like quiet guilds! I would like for people to be grouping for events and running dungeons all hours of the day. I understand people have lives outside the game.
- Dungeons! As stated above, I would like to see active dungeon runs, at least to get daily dungeon runs done.
- PvP- Player vs. Player isn’t the first thing on my list, but I would like to at least get some WvW in to get Badges of Honor and complete monthly.
- Mature members
- Mix of players (casual, semi-hardcore, hardcore)
- Friendly members
- Events
- A good ranger to teach me. lol

I hope this isn’t asking too much. I understand people have lives outside the game. If you have any questions PM me or leave a reply!

Yes, there is. Here you go. (:
I would honestly like to see rare pets come into the game. Other than that, they need monkeys!
I don’t like the systems in those games. In World of Warcraft you would have to spam the trade channel to even get people to sign your guild charter, then most the time you would have to resort to paying them to sign it along with the amount you have to pay to actually make the guild. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad in Guild Wars 2 since you can be in more than one guild, but I don’t think people would want to pay to start a guild.
I understand there is probably some guilds out there that has no players and no one is active anymore, but that’s up to the leader to disband it.
Nice list of suggestions there, Atherakhia. I really do think they should have the F2 abilities automatic. Also agree with Avathor about the legendary weapon.
I know you’re a PvX guild, but what do you focus on the most? Also, how many players would you say are on daily?
Morning everyone!
Bump
Still looking. (:
Good morning everyone!
Still looking!
G’night, people!
Sounds nice. How active are members though?
Seems like a good guild, but the time I’m not sure about. I will see. Thanks for the post!
I just got the game. I log in for five minutes then the update comes. ):
