In the new blog that was released today, they mentioned something along those lines.
“We’re working on adding new types of content to the game in early 2013 that will allow guilds to go on missions together. Some of these missions may be content designed specifically for the guild to accomplish within certain constraints or time requirements while others see the creation of new content by a guild/s everyone in the world can experience. Over time we’ll continue to expand this system with new guild rewards, missions, and tools to allow guilds, of all sizes, to play a stronger part in solidifying the communities of the GW2 world.”
It may not be dungeons, but at least they are putting something in. I hope they still add larger player cap to dungeons.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Emote
“If you target another player or NPC and include an “@” after an emote, then the emote will include them in the chat log."
“You can create custom emotes by typing /me, /emote, /em, or /e followed by a space and the text to display as an emote.”
Try that. (:
The amount of risen needs to be reduced in Orr. I was just trying to go around getting orr ore in Cursed Shore, and it’s kitten near impossible. Sure, in other zones I aggro and I expect it, but having a trail of 20 enemies behind me is ridiculous.
So these tokens for new rewards; I’m confused. In the blog post they went from events to daily achievements, which is it? Will these be awarded from doing daily achievements, events, or both?
“To make playing in our open world worthwhile, we’ll make it rewarding enough for players to spend their time there across all levels.”
That makes me think it’s from events.
“One of our focuses is expanding and leveraging our achievement system. The concept behind this is to allow players to earn new rewards for achievements,”
That makes me think it’s from daily achievements.
Maybe I’m missing something or just being kitten
I really hope that they’re adding rewards to make us do DIFFERENT dynamic events in this game. It would be so lame if the new rewards system just had people farming the same events over and over rather than exploring the world and doing different stuff.
From what he was saying in the video, it sounds like they are trying to get players to go back to different zones and not stay at those “endgame” zones or wait for dragon events to spawn.
I’m excited about this, to be honest. Knowing they are working on and have a different reward system is nice. I wish they released more detail about what kind of armor that is, though, and what the rest of the list shows.
More things were mentioned that I was hoping to see:
- “Expanded and re-designed encounters for bosses in dungeons and the open world.”
- “Continuing to improve the security of the game fighting botters and hackers, as well as improving the games stability by addressing bugs as quickly as possible when they are reported.”
- “The improvements and fixes to the fractal dungeons.”
“Leaderboards on our website where you can compare your abilities with other players to find out who is the best in the world.” Anyone know what this is going to be? I imagine it would be fore pvp only, but that was never said.
Anyway, looking good ANet. Hope to hear more soon!
Guys, these are not patch notes, every single thing they plan to fix is not going to be listed until those updates start rolling out.
Would be nice in some situations.
+1
I would like the long bow to not be so range dependent and have a bit shorter cast on it’s auto. It doesn’t bother me in open world events, but in dungeons you sometimes have little room. I also think the short bow needs a little buff in damage, but this may be just because I don’t have the best one, I have 802-886 with almost 2,800 attack and am only hitting 200/240, and crits usually are in the 300’s/400-500. Just seems like it takes forever to kill something.
Over all the problems, though, pets seem to be the worst. The tracking is horrible on them; Like a dog trying to get off his leash. Micro managing your pet is only sometimes successful, because it takes forever for your pet to react, or he just run the other way then comes back towards you.
I’m sure pets are one thing they are wanting to fix, but I’m not sure about the other things. Not getting my hopes up, though.
Yes, what Vol said. Should be this week or next. Can’t wait!
I suggest you invest time into learning the battlefields around these ledges/bridges before running into them (I believe you dislike the dredge base in Frostgorge where they have landmines on bridges that send you off.)
I believe you don’t know me or my play style and therefore have no basis for telling me my suggestion/idea is bad/invalid. I believe that you saying I need to learn to play better is a lame argument that a lot of “1337” gamers use. I believe that if you want to provide a substantial reason why you are against the idea instead of pointing the blame at me being unable to “learn” you might have gotten a more agreeable response instead of a retort.
Have a nice day.
He pretty much gave his reason by saying “Yeah really, think of how kitten stupid bosses would be. Just get a bunch of knockbacks and send them off spartan style. Sure would look cool the first few times, but now there is no challenge.” Having this in the game would break it, in my opinion. If you know the enemy has a knock back, then don’t stand around anything you can get knocked off of.
I believe it’s for balance reasons in pvp situations. It is annoying, but that’s why I love my ranger; An extra speed increase. (:
Should really bind your pet stuff. :P
I did! :P
I have mine Q for attack and E for follow/return. Special attack is Shift 2 and swap is Shift 3. There were originally sorted for my elementalist, but since there aren’t character specific keybindings…
Hopefully we will see some plans for professions listed in their “plans for 2013” list that’s suppose to be released soon. I would like to see some changes made to the ranger, mainly the pet tracking/AI.
LFG Tool? Hope not…better add a new channel people can join if they like. One-button already exist in most MMORPG, most people play here since it’s different.
Bet this guy is rethinking after all those months. LOL
Yes, please! I didn’t even have to read the whole post to agree. Looting, for example, is really annoying when NPC are around. Also, where is the aoe looting? >.<
This has been brought up many times, and I’m sure it will never happen.
I made a much larger thread about this already here, but it got blocked. Large player cap dungeons that offer a actual challenge is all I ask.
Yeah idk why they blocked that post. It wasn’t getting off-topic, and had almost 100 posts. But I am 100% up for ArenaNet’s Form of raids or larger scale dungeons.
Yeah, me either. They didn’t even post on there telling us why they closed it. I had two PM’s but it was for the thread “Mounts/Addons/ and an LFD”. They posted in that one about going off topic, and I saw a close coming.
Maybe mine did get a little off topic at times, though.
Open world dungeons would probably be the same as meta events—a mindless zerg. I don’t think open world dungeons would ever offer as much coordination or team work than a dungeon would, because anyone can just join in.
If you want to know how strong you are, go to Orr. Going to lower leveling zones and doing more damage or even one shotting enemies won’t prove anything.
Anet – I’ll buy and spend gems for you to NOT do this.
There is a report option at the bottom right. Click it and type “selling gold”. I don’t see what takes so long about that.
^ Those people are exactly why this topic shouldn’t even be brought up. There were way more understanding people in my thread.
Yes, each race has zones up to level 25. 1-15 then 15-25. I went back and did this around 50 or 60 and it’s not a bad idea. Some zones I didn’t like too much, so I went back.
You can see them on this map
I made a much larger thread about this already here, but it got blocked. Large player cap dungeons that offer a actual challenge is all I ask.
Or you can just change the look.
I want branded pets.
This has probably been brought up before, but I wasn’t sure how to search it.
There is already a way to toggle between armor and town cloths, just add some more so you can add more armor in and name that set. This would also help save space in peoples’ inventory. You would only be allowed to change sets out of combat.
P.S Add the same thing, but for traits.
Having pets see stealth would completely ruin the balance in the game. Best solution is to bind your pets attack to something easy. When you are able to see the player, send your pet after him.
Maybe a skill could be added for players to see enemies briefly, but it would have to be for a very short time, just long enough for you to see which direction they are going so you can pull them out.
At times I wish this was in the game, but I do feel it would add discrimination in the game. That’s just me talking from past experiences in other games. I wouldn’t mind it being in the game or not.
True about everyone going to get it eventually, but that’s how it can be with everything in the game.
Here’s an idea. How about they make those rare pets veteran or even champion, and when you choose to tame them, you must weaken them by bringing their health down to say…10% or so. That way, people who are skilled with the ranger can obtain them.
There would be the problem of other people helping the ranger, but they could possibly make it where others are not able to help. Only the person that chose to tame them can kill them.
I don’t know, that’s suggestion that probably wouldn’t or couldn’t be in the game. Just throwing things out there.
Nothing wrong with the name.

I see where you’re coming from. It would be pretty cool if the dragons would just attack random places. The only problem I see, is how would people know where they are attacking? There would have to be some notification to the player no matter where they are. There would probably be some problems with implementing this, though. They would still have to make specific areas where the dragon would land.
I still think they need to make the encounters more mobile. It’s boring sitting in one place fighting a dragon that doesn’t move. Jormag is the only dragon that moves positions causing the players to move and fight him in another area.
I’m ok with buying them and then paying for them to be repaired, just don’t want bags full of them to cover every map i go to because each one uses different set and leaves me little room for anything else.
You do realise that each gathering equipment works on EVERY lower tier stuff as well as the tier it states? Meaning that you only need to carry around the top stuff to be able to gather everything regardless of zone.
So what you’re saying, a new character should buy Mithril or Ori Picks with all 20 copper they get for their first heart? In any case, even now, tools are lvl capped, don’t know the exact arrangement but lvl 5 for eg can’t use high end tools.
What he’s trying to say is from what the guy said " just don’t want bags full of them to cover every map i go to because each one uses different set and leaves me little room for anything else." My guess is the guy doesn’t know you can use higher level gathering tools for lower level ores, so you don’t have to take up as much room.
He’s not saying early levels should pick up higher gather tools, because they can’t anyway.
There is already a post related to that here
There is no reward, though.
Hmm, I’m not sure what you’re asking along the lines of skins. Do you want to change your bear into a something else, or do you want armor for pets?
Either way, I’m not sure this would ever come into the game. I would like to see cooler looking pets and possibly ever rarity in pets.
Maybe not permanent, but maybe higher stack or unlimited stack. It would save room in our inventory.
I agree. It would be nice to have a rare pet and everyone be like “Oh my god, where did you get that”, you know? ;D
I would also like to see more pets added. We are missing turtles! and possibly some other I can’t think of off the top of my head. We also need more ranged pets!
I would also like to see:
-Branded Devourer
-Rock Dogs and Branded Rock dogs
Well first off, there is no best profession. Some are better than others are earlier levels, but it all matters when you hit 80. No matter which profession you pick you’re probably going to have those tough times while leveling.
That being said, I think ranger would be a nice fit.
Pros:
- Good at soloing various creatures.
- Capable of long range and melee with good damage.
- Signet that grants 25% increased movement speed all the time to you and your pet. The abilities tooltip says 25%, but when it’s on it’s 10%. Might be a bug or something, but it still gets you around the world. (Unlocked at level 10 with three skill points)
- Good at gathering; Most the time the enemies will attack my pet and not me, so you’re not slowed.
- Tagging enemies is pretty easy. With the various traps and aoe that the short bow and long bow have, you can tag large groups.
Cons:
- In my opinion, they need to change some things to make rangers a bit more wanted in dungeons. Right now spirits have a lot of complains—I haven’t used them much myself. It seems other than spirits, Healing Spring seems to be the only group oriented ability. Maybe I just haven’t messed around with their support capability, but that’s my opinion.
- Weapon choices are nice, but some need to be looked at and possibly add more variety (this could be said for any profession). The short bow is nice for solo and kiting enemies around. It shoots fast, but also lacks in some damage, which I would like to see possibly buffed a little. The long bow does great damage, but the mechanic with it is: The farther you are, the more damage you do. I feel this should be removed as well.
If you don’t like the sound of this profession, then I would suggest a warrior or guardian. They both have good capability with tagging enemies and survivability.
Guild names and character names are world wide, so it’s hard to even choose a name. The name doesn’t have to be the most awesome thing you ever heard, it has the have the most awesome people! A guild could be called Rainbow Kittens and have the best people in it.
Advertise your guild as you want. Is it a pve, pvx, or are you focused on making a pure pvp guild? What kind of people are you looking for, ect…
Good luck!
This has been brought up many times already.
It does need to be fixed though. The most problem I have is losing my target. I hold down the right click when I move around to turn my character. When I do so in large scale events, I will usually end up clicking someone or something else. They should either remove the right click target overall, or have a option to make left click the only means of targeting.
PvE is not dead—It’s lacking.
The Suggestion(s):
1). Balance the damage of professions, and their summons, if used, so that they are more equal.
2). Balance the damage, and speed, of melee and ranged weapons to be more equal. (Ranged weapons are currently so slow, they cannot compete vs melee weapons.)
3). Aesthetically, and practically speaking, all weapon combos should be more balanced. (Forcing the use of one weapon combo over a person’s preferred one, is far from balanced.)
4). Increase the effectiveness of armor and weapon vendor gear. Currently, one can barely do much of their personal story at level with them.
1: So you’re basically wanting every profession to have the same damage? Professions can beat other professions if you know what you’re doing. Some may not be better than others in PvE do to people wanting specific utilities over the other, but that’s the only difference.
2: Again, same as number one. I agree that the long bow is slow, but you can still do things with it and it has useful and powerful abilities. I’m not sure how it is with other classes that can use the short bow, but you could just use that or a melee weapon again melee users.
3: It’s all about adapting. You’re not being forced to use a weapon just because of the combo field. If you really want to plan something for big damage or good heals you can, but no one is forcing you.
Not all professions are the same and some are harder to play than others, especially at earlier levels. In my opinion, all the professions are well balanced.
I like these ideas. Arena Net really needs to start listening more to their fans.
Just because they aren’t releasing things we want, doesn’t mean they aren’t listening to us.
I never said copy, but they should offer at least the same options, and more!!!
That’s still pretty much copying. lol
Really though, if you want those things and can’t find yourself to play Guild Wars 2 because of them, you should really go back to World of Warcraft. It suits your needs.
its not.. art style, combat, world, story are totally different, I’m saying add mounts and and LFD durr omg its a copy.. no its not, its “options”
Maybe copy would be the wrong word. But you did say " but they should offer at least the same options, and more!!!" You’re basically wanting them to make it like other games in more ways when it’s never going to be. The only thing I can see being added to this game that is in other games is a dungeon finder, that’s it.
To me, it sounds like Guild Wars 2 isn’t the game for you.
Would be nice if you want to take pictures and stuff. I would also like to zoom out more like it does in most large scale meta events.
These should be posted here
I have no idea what this is. But I assume if it’s not listed as a payment option when trying to buy gems, I guess you can’t.
