There’s a game mode for that, sPvP.

I don’t play it because it’s way too restrictive. But I also don’t complain about 1v1’s being ruined in a map with, potentially, 140 enemies.

You can say the same about ANY team game too. You do realize that right? “You only killed us because it was 3v2 because my other two teammates were on the other side of the map”, says the whiner in a 4v4 team game.

However, in THIS game mode one big mass zerg won’t (well shouldn’t if the enemies know anything about strategy) win you the game. Overall world strategy does.

So your personal skill level is on the super ultra professional level and you should be paid millions for it. Cool story. But that means jack crap when the game type you’re playing is….wait for it….WORLD vs WORLD vs WORLD.

Brag all you want about how awesome you are at duels and 1v1 but the goal of the game is to work AS A WORLD (aka team) and beat the other two worlds through overall score obtained by PPT measured by captured structures, not how many times you killed the enemy.

Basically, you are measuring skill on the wrong levels, your zerg wiped ours? You killed a ton of our players in a 1v1. Cool! Looks back at the scoreboard….I don’t see how that has any relevancy to this game type.

This is only my second post. Ask your friends who were in TCBL all night who helped JQ cap our garrison? This is seriously business as usual for everyone.

it’s almost pointless to like… predict things after the leagues. things will shift, whether for better or for worse. there will be some things that may be harmful, but who said change was always going to be good?

maybe in a few weeks after the leagues things will stabilise once again. who knows, right?

If we get demoted and start running around in T2, while some other server gets pushed up to T1, matches are going to be completely unbalanced, which isn’t really much fun. Say what you will, but the best fights come from good PPT races.

B) If we do crumble, who exactly do you think will take our place? SoS? Mags? I sure hope you don’t this turn attitude you’re showing onto yourselves if/when you get stuck with BG/JQ repeatedly in the future and play third wheel.
SoR falling apart is bad for more than our just our server. The more logical people on BG and JQ have also stated as much. If SoR were struggling due to guild migration, this might be remedied, but we’re suffering attrition. People are reducing their gameplay. No one is going to gobble up our power and rise to T1; things will get destabilized.

The problem with SoR, and I think many TC players feel this way, is you always talked smack about us and never gave us any credit for being a good server.

there has been the odd “good fights everyone!” but i do agree, most of the sor comments i’ve come across always have this undertone similar to: “we’re SO better than you h4h4h4.”

and i don’t know, didn’t you see this “2v1” coming? you coming first is a threat to JQ’s second place, and you coming second is a threat to our 3rd place (tie). like… what were you expecting? =_=

in the end, i don’t really give a flying kitten about whether we go third or not, though going third may be a huge morale boost for our server. the past few weeks of facing at least one t1 server made us tougher soldiers, and to see TC grow and evolve like that is what matters to me.

I’d rather hit JQ blobs this week than SoR, since their server is on break, I want real fights. TC doesn’t need “assistance” anyhow, we lack coverage zones, but we have TOAST!

Over half of SOR’s teamspeak is in the ESO beta. Thus far for a game that still has months left to polish and fine tune, am pretty impressed with it overall. Due to NDA cannot say much else, hah.

Seems stupid for an ele to use Zerkers. Really stupid glass cannon, no place for that in WvW.

My armour for staff ele is mostly berserkers. If I wasn’t so fidgety when my armour drops below 2200, I would be wearing a full berserker set.

It’s fine to be glass, provided you know what you’re doing. I’ve lived through hammer trains, aoe and when my internet decides to be terrible, with lag. If you have good combat sense, it’s fine to wear berserker as positioning and awareness become your means of survival.

The only time I would not recommend a full berserker set is if you are not confident enough with your skill (or if you find yourself getting 1-2 punched by the enemy hammer train on a regular basis).

I would get some celestial pieces but I’m cheap and lazy. Whoops.

Thanks SoR for all the fights today in Eternal Battlegrounds! It was an awesome 3-way fight for SMC (although Maguuma was a non-factor) and the Zombie Coast I’m happy to say claimed victory! Why does everyone (including Anet) use this “meta” term? No idea what it means, and it sure doesn’t come close to any dictonary meanings of the word meta.

The meta is essentially the most common (and often the most effective) playstyle derived by the community. Most of the time the “meta” is based on experimentation/theorycrafting/trial and error. I’m not sure if you play League, but this thread explains what the word ‘meta’ means in that game. If not then… I’ll just borrow one of the quotes and replace it with GW2 classes:

The Current Meta is going 1 top, 1 jungle 1 mid and 2 bot having a frontline, a backline and periphery and scouts. Usually the bruisher / off-tank is top so is the jungler frontline are guardians and warriors, the one going mid is ap carry in periphery are thieves and engineers, and the bot lane consists of a support and an ad carry backline are often glass elementalists and necros.

I have this opinion on WvWvW for a while, since many player have been complaining about how skill is unbalance or stuff like that due to duration of stun/fear/immobilize and I’m assuming you guys have never played mobile games such as Dota or League, as tittle say, most of the time when you play WvWvW its similiar to Dota/League feature as most MOBA game player would know that the ability to permanent stun the other team or immobilize is the only way to achieve ownange especially in team fight when you can lock their team in a spot and just DPS them down as quickly as possible to achieve a wipe. Its all about the strategy of MOBA games trying to lock team and fight them in that way with the right item sets in this which case your gear. Just my point of view.

I’m not necessarily trying to say that skill lag and FPS are the same, but I’ve found that the two go hand in hand. Low FPS means incredibly slow skill usage (sometimes no skill usage) for me. I just avoid situations where that’s necessary. I have no doubt that skill lag has been reduced, but I’m still hearing a fair bit about it. We also get an odd moment where none of your skills will work unless you waypoint, map-change or relog your game. Possibly not skill lag, but I don’t like the idea of a thread sitting here with only a “gg anet, everything’s fixed, your game now works as intended.”

Side note: new computer comes by the end of the month, but at the moment I’m running a system that is above the lowest recommended by Anet. Either change that recommendation, or cater to your clients that have essentially been lied to.

The point is that skill lag doesn’t necessarily equate to FPS drops. During SMC fights I would have a steady 30fps and still have skill lag. They sometimes correlate, but one thing can occur without the other.

Also the bug you mentioned can be solved through emoting.

And I don’t think we’re saying that the game is totally fixed, but server optimisation is a big (albeit overdue) leap.
