You obviously can’t read.

What can’t I read? That people are crying they got locked out of WvW when it was clearly told to them WEEKS before season 2 started? As well as a warning screen when they were transferring? Is it me who can’t read? Or is it these people crying they got locked out of WvW who can’t read?

Because some of us aren’t complaining that this wasn’t communicated properly (or some other reason). Some of us were aware of the lock-out. When I transferred (which was before the end of last week’s match; I think I need to say this multiple times to get the point across), I was really surprised that I managed to get into normal WvW. And then the lockout happens.

I am personally irritated by this because the lockout only started yesterday, I face the risk of being locked out NEXT week because ANet neglected to implement restrictions (or it’s buggy, who knows).

All I want to know is if this restriction takes into account the date of transfer. And quite honestly, if this was not the case, then expect a lot of backlash due to negligence or buggy coding. Whichever.

And others have already discussed the flaws of the restriction so I’m not going to delve into that.

it is not 14 days…

it is “for the remaining days of the current match up, and also the whole week of next match up”.

depending on the day you transferred, the lockout can be between 7-14 days.

Hopefully this is the case. I don’t want to get locked out of this week’s matchup AND next week’s matchup because ANet forgot to enforce the restriction when I actually transferred servers (which was before last week’s match ended).

This restriction was put in place after previous player complaints of other players transferring to worlds who were winning or more likely to win during Season 1 last year. In addition to being explicitly stated in the blog post linked by players above, it was also messaged in the form of a warning when attempting to change worlds. This warning has been in place since the beginning of the tournament and reads as follows (emphasis mine):

Are you sure you want to transfer to <world>?

If yes, you’ll be logged out of your account, which may be inaccessible for a short period of time while the transaction completes. In addition, you cannot make another transfer for 7 days. Your WvW accessibility will be restricted to Edge of the Mists for the duration of the current match and until the end of your world’s next match.

Why implement it in the middle of a matchup…

I do think people are complaining not because they’re locked out, but this happened mid-week, and the players who did transfer (and did not get restricted) already influenced the scoreboard during these past few days.

Since the matchup is close to being over I personally do not care, but I do hope that this lock-out ends this week as I transferred last week (before the end of last week’s match). If I get locked out next week because ANet forgot to implement the restriction then… lol

Also why block OS… it contributes less to WvW in comparison to EOTM.

I came across a rank two mesmer who I thought was very good at the game (I assumed she is a regular WvWer). And I came across a Champion Illusionist (she was on her mesmer too when we fought) who still keyboard turned and generally had less mesmer mechanic knowledge than the rank two mesmer.

Take that with a grain of salt but really, ranks and the champion title can be grinded. But some will continue to be terrible while some will learn a lot from the grind.

Do ranks mean something? Definitely. But I wouldn’t use it to gauge skill all the time. I see it more as a gauge of how long they’ve played the game.

“tenacity”? I think “coverage” is a better word to use. You have more players online than us this week, it’s that simple. I also noticed that Mag has really changed from being basically a roaming server to generic PPT, but it’s all good, if that makes the game more enjoyable for you.

it takes anyone 5 seconds of applying minor critical thinking skills that mag was never a ppt server ever. they are, however, pretty good at it when you know… they try. this is my personal observation based on the last week before the leagues started and the midweek push they did to cover the 10k gap.

and honestly, i’ve been playing this entire week (even during christmas cos christmas isn’t really a big celebration thingymajig with my family i have no family yooo) and FA’s coverage was… relatively the same. you lost some OCX people but other than that, i noticed little difference UNTIL AFTER mag took second.

please… think? lol

tl;dr: the only reason FA went third was because tyrion was on vacay obviously jajajajajajajajajaaa ^^

the only thing i remember from meow is them saying they had a truce with a SoS guild to have the opportunity to fight the outmanned TC oceanic crew (which are mostly pugs too).

Dear god, the siege monkeys from SBI/YB are ridiculous. This match up is so refreshing as we don’t have to worry as much about qued zergs hiding in towers behind 5+ superior arrow carts.

I have a second account on SoS and decided to join the wubwub with mah lvl 2 (she is lvl4 now) guardian.

Dear god I’ve seen more siege in EBG than I’ve seen since the beginning of this match in TC/Mag/FA.

Trebs everywhere, with superior ballistae and ACs guarding them. Accompanied by the blob. I was gobsmacked.

A good workaround is to have someone else telegraph the commands through text. Also sometimes when I feel like I’m close to suppression, I ask the zerg to just type 1 in say or map or w/e. It’s not a permanent fix but I don’t see ANet actually doing anything about it anytime soon.

I think most intelligent people use different builds for zerging vs roaming.
If you have a group build, you shouldn’t bother trying to take on folks in small numbers.

You are not doing anyone (least of all yourself) any favors if you try to do one or the other with the wrong build(s).

It’s not that there are too many. It’s that you’re all in one place at a time on any given map. There’s very little small to mid size fights (5-15) to be had. Making it a really boring matchup unless you like trebbing, blobbing around with 30 of your server friends, or clubbing poor zerglings trying to get back to their group. I’m sure all the FA zerg guilds are having a good ole’ time cutting down all your baddies, but for the roamers and small guilds it’s pretty lame. Can’t you just break off like 10 from your blob and send them my way instead of sending the whole server for a 5 man gank team… please I have cookies i’m willing to share.

Here is a hint for PvF -

Replace ANY server name, and ANY guild name in ANY post and it still works. Here is one to get you started:

Been awhile forgot why TC match ups are the worst match ups for groups under 10. TC has no guilds/groups under 10. GF is as close as it gets and they aren’t TC OG. All we see is zergs and zerglings trying to get back to their zergs. We saw NAGA running down 1 and 2 people across almost the entire map at least a half a dozen times last night. The Furiousbeard run down was literally the entire map, from near north camp all the way to our spawn on TCBL. Almost every fight leads to cannon fire as the cowards on the wall won’t jump down as we’re chasing even numbers back into keeps. It’s either blobs or karma trains both being rather boring. Don’t get me wrong I love getting zerged down after a good fight, but I’d like an open field close to even fight once in week. Not QQ just saying have some fun it’s okay to die with less than double numbers sometimes it just might make you better players

Wow the direction this thread went… well just to correct the posts you non-crafters are making about crafting…
1. It’s not 145g to do 0-400 on all 8, it’s not even 120g.
2. 20+7x8=76, do 400-425 by refining t6 ore/wood/leather will basically finish your leveling for free (sometimes these refinements are even at a profit…)
3. Using a crafting booster does not give you more crafting exp from doing 0-400, it just reduces the materials required to get there.

oh, i forgot to point out that i was following gw2crafts.net and was fast crafting. the 145g estimate is for fast-crafting. normal crafting drove me insane so :p

also a few of the mats that i used like quadrupled in price which made me cry but w/e

and i crafted three of my alts to 80 because i have a growing dislike for pve (and i don’t like bringing non-80s to wvw). i don’t craft regularly, but saying i’m a non-crafter is kinda sorta funny.

it costs 145 gold now, assuming you bought all the mats. it costed me around 120 gold to level my warrior to 80.
