From what I’ve seen so far I’m pretty sure TC would still beat SBI. SBI does have a really strong reset that can compete, but they fall off quite a bit after it. Both seem to have a comparable sea/oceanic, but TC still has the stronger NA.
If SBI does have the population to match TC, then I’m looking forward to it. Being alone in the T1.5 is depressing.
He wasn’t dying to NPCs, wat. It’s almost as if there were no people who were trying to defend that tower (for the record there were two of us and more entered). I thought the first person would jump out because he stood there for a while, then decided to hit things.
I didn’t know a “what in the hell” moment lasts more than a few minutes. It’s not difficult to tell your GUILDIES to “jump out pls” (random people I can understand, but that group was all CNB so rofl).
It’s okay to say “yes we decided to take advantage of the exploit”. Right now it really sounds that you are simply being dishonest.
I thought the sportsmanlike thing to do is to jump out if you glitched in. GUESS NOT LOL
edit: ohai asudem. proof here v I died on the ramp which was an odd angle but yes. 1 warrior glitched in, then started hitting NPCs and more of them glitched in.
As far as I know, TC only list ZN (To get back with guilds they had played with a long time ago) and WvW (not sure of their reasons), and I believe both went to BG. TC did lose some individual players (not a lot) to JQ, but thats it.
We lost [WvW] to JQ as well.
You also lost most of RE, a bunch of CERN, and other mixed players, and they weren’t “bought” they just had their transfers payed for, we wanted to go there. I tried and tried to get TC to recruit, when guilds were moving and other servers were recruiting, I told TC that they needed to recruit, and they said it was not a good idea, that they could handle it, that the militia would step up, and the pve crowd would show up and help out, LMAO, well, look what happened, hope your pve militia shows up for our matchup.

All I read from that is “I wanted them to do this, but they didn’t listen, so I left! Hmph TC.”
To be honest I’m glad we can weed out players with that kind of mentality. It’s just as bad as “fairweathers” leaving when the matchups becomes tougher and less of a karma train zerg.
Thank you much Blackgate for the donation of RISE. They are cute, cuddly and eager to fight for their new mates over here at SoR. I took a personal liking to Jarvan. He wanted me to relay that the move was “nothing personal, but RISE had ex-RISE casual carebears in BG that didn’t WvW and that his playstyle is hardcore active and he didn’t want to recruit in a carebear non active WvW server anymore.”

This is Iyma Twerkit, one of the people fro GoF responsible for attacking the yak parade. Firstly i would like to say that the group that did this disastrous atrocity was a collection of 5 of us, we do not represent the entire GoF guild in our actions. I just don’t understand why this can’t be taken to a PvE area via guesting to not take up room in a tier 1 wvw competitive environment? Irregardless of current score im not particularly fond of losing our natural tower, bay or any other territory because our BL is qued due to “yakkers”? Sorry for the yakicide.
GG JQ, you have successfully over-stacked up the SEA/EU timezones, fielding about 3 times our numbers accross all the borderlands.
What bg can’t coast to a easy victory now?!!? Sorry JQ but looks like the BG trolls have turned on ur server. Enjoy it while it lasts, however they seem to get pretty obsessive.
Sorry, Blackgate is currently busy helping other servers getting their Teq kills and achievements with opening/managing our TS to other servers as well as helping people guesting to us.
Feel free to keep doing these 24 hrs wvw full map pushes and all-nighters JQ… we will be back after we are done helping the GW2 community.

I think its worth pointing out that shortly after BG killed Tesquirtl JQ did too. JQ also began guesting to other servers to help and organized a few overflow instances alongside our own home instance and we opened up our TS to others too. PvE, PvX and the WvWers doing PvE from all servers are generally pretty open about helping each other out in this game because they all want to have fun. I know I’ve fought Tesquirtl more than once with my snugglebuddy Stealthzor and his awesome eyefinity AC skillz.

Taco is often referred to as Taco or Tacotaco and I believe his agents are sensitive about this. I mean, they got offended I called him Teakettle!
They included Tacotaco in the same patch as Bloodlust so the WvWers will be more attracted to PvE than the obviously hilarious mistake that is Bloodlust.
They were successful on that front trolololol. Good job ANet. If I wanted to PvE I would play single-player RPGs.

BG hasn’t replicated it because it’s a Daily chest that drops loots. We will reclear it once the server reset happens and the loot is back available to those that coordinated the strats to down him. Saying that BG “can’t” replicate it is silly; we just want to get loot for doing it again. It was a great encounter and we really look forward to the next downing on reset.
I don’t know why you’re suddenly so defensive. All I said that he was only defeated once by BG, but it hasn’t happened again (for many reasons). I’m not saying you won’t be able to, I’m just saying that it hasn’t happened again yet. Note how I said ‘was’ and not ’won’t be able to’.

Congrats on getting him close. I presume you know how the fight “works” now and will have a kill shortly. Knowing this is the secret to beating him.
BG will replicated it again today I am sure of it. Many of us were there for many attempts yesterday and after the kill most went to bed / WvW / Other.
Well I don’t know how many times TC has tried it lol. I’ve only tried it twice before I had to call it a day. But yes, we slowly learned how it works (time, coordination, etc.). It really was just a matter of not dealing enough DPS. :< Hopefully we can take him down tomorrow!

First time fighting Blackgate and i gotta say they are a 24/7 meat grinder likes never been seen before. I’ve never seen sooo many bags drops ever. I thought about PVE after i saw the matchup was Jade blob quarry and Black mega blob Gate, but you guys are a bag fest like I’ve never seen. -—You

Okay I’ll play along then you can say you learned something this week at least. Blackgate is a meat grinder meaning 24/7 coverage pretty much full map que all time zones. TC has more coverage than us but is by no means at BG levels during oceanic or SEA.
squishy vs poor skill. Now these two can happen at the same time like in TCs case, but don’t have to. Squishy means poorly geared for group fights, zerker gear might work for duels and 2v2s but above that you need toughness and vitality for wvw. Zerker gear is the extreme, but overall it means not enough armor and vitality so you get blasted into the ground by one small man group focus fire, or running up levels which should speak for itself.
BG to their credit knows how to inform their legions how to gear, but they still have little skill, unlike a JQ that can both gear and has a pretty good overall skill level. BG provided many bags too, BUT and this is the key part it would take a sustained focus fire to get a guy down and keep him down because his/her well geared friends would also be trying to res. them back up. Meaning we have to keep them off the downed guy and try to spike the downed player all while actually having some stuff on cool down because it takes a lot in the first place to get them down. Bottom line squishy is poorly geared, bad is just bad and TC = both.
Yeah, i don’t focus crit damage as much as thieves typically do. And in all fairness i was more worried about the yak, but your friend must have a weak constitution to get so worked up over such a weak backstab. I expected more, /yawn. Stay classy SoR, we all know how hard it is for y’all.
I hate yak snipers for forcing people to walk yaks, you should all be killed with max contempt.

Enough with the “blobbing”. Even SBI blobs (before recent transfers) at times.
What it comes down to, is how much of your “blobs” are organized guilds and are people correctly spec’d for WvW.
Half the problems we have on SoS is we have a good fight going and Zachary “Zerkergear” runs into the fight and insta-dies to give a free rally.
I’m sure it happens on TC and even on SoR once in a while but the percentages of it happening are what really makes the difference in tiers.
This along with a few other issues are what troubles SoS. 1 of the issues, you need to unite all these solo guild tags into 5-6ish main guilds and start getting specced/training properly.
The SoS leadership which is really non existent needs to take control of things and have a plan put in motion which doesnt rely on trying to aquire transfers aka SoS 3.0-4.0.5.0 etc. You need to build and work with what you got whether you want to deny it you’re a tier 2-3 server with an oceanic presence that if unified outnumbers any server period yes even the tier 1 servers keypoint is you’re not unified and have alot of pvx give up type of players filling up your player base.
If you whine about opposing numbers being an issue my prime example Seafarer’s Rest a Medium sized server stopping the hordes of vizunah. Point is it can be done and should be done again more often by any server regardless of tier.

Actually i went on vacation to Seafarer’s Rest in the midst of all that kitten that went down with the intent on coming back but that was also based upon my guilds decision and what they decided being one of the last of the main original guilds left on SoS while i was on that vacation was to move servers.
Being on SoS from launch all the stuff that server went thru ups and downs i just needed a new start. It generally annoys me that even tho the people remaining on SoS had been apart of tier 1 they seem to have forgotten the core functionality of how servers function.
All the wvw basics you guys seem to have just forgot i mean where’s the superior siege and all these other issues what i say take it as you like but in the end im just as much SoS as you and still have an account on the server so its tough to see how much more of a well organised machine SoR is and then i look at SoS and think cmon guys quit kittening around.
I’m not on SoS buuut…
I believe the reason why SoR is so much more organised in general is because they are constantly fighting servers of the same (or similar) population and calibre. For weeks the three ‘Titans’ as some may call it fight each other, while the other servers (SoS included) faces a wiiide variety of servers with a wiiide variety of population numbers. As a result there is a constant shift in the attitude/atmosphere/even skill of a server because of the variety of opposition they face.
Well personally I have not seen many SoS roamers because every time I roam I meet the SoR blob lol. Most of the “roamers” from SoR, I’ve noticed, are merely people who are making their way back to their respective groups. I’ve seen a couple of roaming thieves, but that’s not really unusual at all.
And the garrison fight just now made me realise how attached SoR is to siege (maybe this is the norm in T1, not sure). Like, superior ACs on lord’s room roof as you invade TCBL garri? What. Also noticed this in EB. There was a SoR group that clearly outnumbered us who would only fight under cannon fire and SMC buff.
