I have a feeling that might happen with all the things they’re adding 1 at a time.
Yeah I bought 5 keys after the scraps were announced, thinking it would be this way, got NOTHING, never bought any more keys.
Tbh I think any skill that you can use to spam protection does more for keeping people alive than the direct heals do. When I played auramancer (elementalist with aura sharing) the small protection buffs +boon duration were very effective, especially because you could cast them while ressing someone to give you both protection.
Seasonal events seem to be good for farming, scarlet invasions give a lot of exp too in my experience.
Those instant level 20 scrolls are always handy too :P
Ele is definitely what you’re looking for, though getting the damage out can be very complex or very risky (buffs seem to be coming though)
Well aren’t hammer warriors getting a damage nerf? And thiefs a slight initiative nerf? This might indirectly affect how powerful perplexity can be, if you end up dodging a couple of interupts you may end up with much more life than before…
Wonder if it works on agony…. :P
They do plan to make every weapon available to every class..eventually.
Also personally I want the dual-class system back or for them to scrap classes completely. I wouldn’t even be THAT hard. The main concern people have for this is that it creates completely broken builds.
Well, first of all, everyone would have access to this completely broken build, secondly, there will be more ‘broken’ builds created to counter this broken build, and if all those builds and more builds created are broken, everything’s quite balanced.
The power creep is another problem, but I think most people would happily trade the power creep for more diversity.
People using the few broken builds is not diversity.

If you use conjures like utilities (use the skills then insta drop) they can be very nice. Can’t treat them like kits in their current incarnation.
Fire 30 does seem pve only
Definitely a big improvement, needs some work on the fluidity, torment is a good idea, punishing targets that move away from you as a “tank” is always thematically good.
Now needs a smoothness pass like the other spells got. The leap on auto should really be in the tooltip… I was very confused. Does seem designed to work with D/F

the faster casting aoes seems pretty nice.
I use the earthshield when sieging walls, can pull people off the top of the wall, having lots of protection while doing that will be interesting, since generally you don’t die quickly in a wvw zerg situation.

I wish the manuals would reset your traits, 11s for a mobile version and 3s50 for the trainer one seems fine to me…
Maybe even the 1g book (2g seems a bit steep) but making a whole new item seems a bit much.

Meh. Sometimes I just cant understand people. For those of us who love to be punished? Induce more stress? Why would someone play games to get punished and to experience stress? I’m getting too old for this kitten :/
The level of difficulty in a task positively correlates to the level of satisfaction received by legitimately succeeding. That feeling you get when you beat a game/challenge that is unbearably hard (but still achievable within game mechanics) is a “high” rarely artificially replicated.
I get what you are saying and I understand that reasoning. But I dont blindly agree with it. If a “high” justifies all means, we should all be junkies becouse who cares if meth will ruin our lives if we can feel that amazing euphoria from time to time? There is a cutoff point past which it is simply not worth it. This point may vary from person to person but you need to place it somewhere for general population. I experienced that “high” state in both life and games several times. I know how it feels and I know it is amazing. But I tend to look back and consider if all that hard effort was worth it. Sometimes it was, sometimes it wasnt. So taking an example of GW2. Would 5 hours of complete rage be worth it to experience 5 minutes of cathartic euphoria? IMO it would not. Stress and rage are bad for our health and this has been proven. I know for sure I would never decide to play a game where the majority of my time spent would consist of feelings which are actually hurting me.
You can’t compare games to addictive drugs, games have no physical side effects that go with the satisfaction of beating them. Having a hard mode for more skilled players to be satisfied with beating is great. I never beat tequatl but when we got her to under 50% on my server the feeling was awesome
Gosh individual armour pieces would be the best thing ever..
I’m glad I had 2 cloth characters to get the most out of the aether armour, but that was still a tough buy.
There is already a combat mod like that
if you’re not level 80 yet there is sooooo much content, enjoy the game
There are already lots of pulls, I use my ele earth shield all the time on the cc heavy fights. Same with my engi tool kit, guardians and necros also have a pull, when I first did twilight assault we had the 2 necros chain grasping mobs to pull them out of the groups they were in.
Thief and mesmer also have pulls.
A pull followed by a cripple, immob or chill is basically a taunt, for all intents and purposes, removing an enemy from where they want to be, and keeping them away.
Sometimes this requires a bit of cooperation.
wish there was an option to put the earth shield pull onto the focus , so you could choose condi removal/blast/reflect or an offensive pull ^^
I guess that guards would have different looking Tomes? Ele could have different types of wrist effects :p
Definitely agree that skins should affect kits, just a few different styles would make me happy.

I like the engi downed skills, they are pretty handy if you’ve used up the enemies stability during the main fight.
I think of downed as “wounded” rather than dead, it’s just something that happens when you reach half health and cuts out most of your spells and mobility.
Killed so many thieves on my terrible necro with the +50% damage from downed trait :P
Yeah it is graphically awesome, the tell is a bit too obvious though, It should be like nunu’s ult, where you can release it early for less damage.
Lightning flash doesn’t change the timing so it doesn’t help it being landed :p
Ironically that trait nobody takes in arcana with the immobilise on arcanes would be amazing for this situation…
It’s incredibly easy to dodge.
On demand protection is better than armour.
If you go to your hero panel, then the traits/skills thing , it’ll show you all the possible weapon skills you can use and which weapons they are tied to.
Also of note are the (utility) conjured weapon skills, which replace your normal 20
The most I’ve learnt in pvp is playing the other classes, knowing the exact cooldowns, range and durations etc. of their abilities is wonderful for countering them.
fighting just other eles isn’t going to improve our skills in normal pvp :P
you can already do it with phase retreat which is amazing to troll skull crack/100swag warriors
It makes sense to be limited like that, I think every mobility skill having a 10s cd would be insane :P
Things like Blink needs a 10 sec CD or less. I really don’t understand why a skill that just acts as an extra dodge/catching up to party members needs a whooping 30 seconds CD.
They should just improve pet AIs to allow them to get away from AoEs.

I think I’ve paid about £4-5 a month, If more mmos had a sub fee like that i’d probably play them. I do love having a choice.
I could turn gold to gems but I put money in when a patch comes out that I agree with :p

That’s ok, I guess there isn’t really much there in the way of mechanical changes besides this unsteady ground, the others are just numbers it seems.
I’m starting to think if they are changing runes/sigils to be more interesting (I read that as “build defining”) it could be quite the meta change, I’d love all runes and sigils to be as build defining as perplexity.

@Sinzer, I think they probably wouldn’t change the cooldown, or maybe even shorten it, since they are removing the damage and condition, it seems anet value the extra damage on the non-main-damage spells more than the players do (lightning flash)
@magic fly, If they changed the graphic to an actual wall of rock, I’d be ok with that :p

The best way to avoid death on that fight at least is to stay on the commander so the turrets can buff / cleanse you

you’d have to completely revamp the entire game to add an effective healer to the game, it’d completely change it away from what many of us bought the game for in the first place. AND you’d need to add tanks, because healers would trivialise any content that didn’t hit like a truck.
It wouldn’t be gw2 anymore, so NO thanks.
Also you only need survivability if you can’t dodge correctly. try speccing into the damage lines, it will force you to learn.

well your number 6 was heard, anet are looking to add a system where the skins you’ve acquired will be switchable more easily.
I think more options are always good and anet are working on more armours, in time I’m sure there will be a great many options, since the level cap is never going to get any higher
for things like that, the trading post exists – I think direct trading would be great to add for things like handing out buff food/crystals/potions etc in a party, especially as you can’t even send 4 mails in a row :/
Death shroud also needs to be more evident, wasted so many heals on necros that I can’t heal. Probably my own fault but it can be hard to know in the chaos of battle :p
I just want the skins from other armour types, I don’t see why my thief can’t get those awesome asura goggles T_T
