Newer dungeons are going to be more like aether I think, zerkers will become more and more risky to bring…
I’m going to be buying some gems because I agree with this move away from pure rng, 3 different ways to get the weapon skins, very nice
Also my necro is happy not having to spec greater marks
Levitation – Leap from any height after activating skill, gently float to bottom. Duration could be fairly long but the drawback is that you fall at a third the speed, so takes longer to get to bottom but no damage.
Fly – Move in any direction 360 degrees, so long as no obstacles in the way. Duration would after be short to stop abuse, just enough duration to let you fly 900 – 1200 range.
I think those wouldn’t really apply to elementalists, it implies a mastery only the Zephyrites have managed.
Elemental Surge would be great in a world without evasive arcana. I guess it’s just because ALL builds can take advantage of dodges, but only builds using an arcane ability can take advantage of surge. Maybe it just needs to be changed to 100% chance on crit > 10s cooldown (separate in attunements, like EA).
You can swap while casting. Also You have more boon duration, so it’s more like 3s.
Well retaliation/reflect/block work better against direct damage I suppose.
You probably only want to use confusion on fast attacking enemies, reflect on enemies that use projectiles… etc.
Would be fun to see a physical damage cap on certain enemies, like physical attacks stack toughness
I very much hope for some new swimwear, or at least make it dyable, come on I look terrible when diving T_T
You can pick your fights in wvw too, just take a defensive build.
But either way if you’re dying more than money made, you need to rethink your tactics.
I play spvp, I like conquest, though I don’t see why you don’t get gold/xp/achievement points in spvp.
Anet, just retoactively convert all the ranks people have earnt into achi points/gold/xp per level, equivalent to the amount of time spent in pve. (as gold bags/karma drinks so you have a choice of levelling your pve character or not)

eh? a server with more people will inherently have more influence, as they have more people to farm tokens. I don’t see how server is relevant, just send your tokens.
chances of a tie are so minute it’s not really worth thinking about. :p
I played GW1 but I really want to know what happened in Thaumanova, I’m an asura and that first zone was really awesome for me.
Colin said that the alternate idea wouldn’t get made in the interview.
Downstates are hugely unbalanced, some classes have it sweet where as others are easy to finish. Making it the same for all classes would probably be fair, how easy is it to stomp and engineer compared to a mesmer for example.
I play engi and we have a chill, a pull, a blowout and a self res in toss elixir R, I don’t think our down state is bad at all.
And ofcourse “long battles are better” is subjective, just like “downed state is bad” is subjective. I just like having more chances for responses and teamplay. Also my necro wrecks thieves when downed, hah.

I would like cheaper waypoints.
A new weapon might balance it more though, by filling a gap the profession has.
The roles are fine, the issue is that there isn’t any content that requires them. You can spec full support or tank and be good at it, but your party would be better off with more damage, due to the way the content is designed.
DtB missed the point.
I think there should be a reward for the least amount of ambient creatures killed
I guess all new characters would start with it and have it taken away if they stray from the path :P
Wehn I played wow the starter zones were empty too, it’s just a natural fact of theme park mmos it seems. Generally you should check out the daily, as whichever region has a “kills” or “events” (like Maguuma Kills or Kryta Events) will have lots of people that want to get it done quickly.
So basically get to Lions Arch as soon as possible so you can go to each capital quickly.
I’m on Aurora Glade and the zones seem quite populated.
As a necro, it’s a pain that conditions are constantly fearing “what about epidemic!” when it comes to balance.
Jeez at this point, even though I do love epidemic, it’d be better if it was removed so that conditions could be buffed without epidemic looming over them.
I like the change
haha yes my engi does all my JPs :p
may i ask if this was done tomorrow why will i want to play a direct dmg build when i can go condi and do good direct dmg and still enjoy my condition dmg?
why will i not run with 5 condi necro`s cof 1 and not 5 zerker warriors?Because it’ll still be a worse DPS than with zerk warriors/thieves.
nope it will be considerably higher.
Conditions can’t crit.
anet just need to fix the dungeon exploits, they said they’re working on it.
Sandwichmancer only, Final D.
wvw was advertised as being a pve/pvp hybrid. sPvP was advertised as being separate.
Just get your guild/server to help you get it.
Why don’t I WvW? I find it exceedingly dull.
Zerg vs zerg? /yawn
Using siege? /yawn x2
Running back for 5 minutes after each death? /yawn x3
Roaming is mildly more fun, until the next zerg sweeps through, then it’s more of the above.
So, in answer to the OP’s question, I’m not sure what it would take to get me to play WvW, other than a complete overhaul of what it is.
The real bummer for me is that, prior to launch, WvW was the game mode I was most excited about.
Hehe so true, before launch I was planning to live entirely in wvw 1-80, I got to about 5 :p
Now I love spvp and pve, I guess wvw just needs to be a lot bigger, with more zones to spread the players it’ll be a bit more of a pvp/pve hybrid like it seems designed to be.
spvp is nice because regearing/respeccing is instant. I have some decent pve gold but not enough to get geared for wvw.
Would be nice if skins saved to the item, and using the transmute crystal just unlocks it so you can pick another skin you’ve put on that item already.
Same amount of gems spent , much less item destruction. I am so glad I already have a look I want :p
If you really cared about “being competitive” on Achievement leaderboards you’d do whatever it takes.
new one is more intuitive for me
my asura ele is wearing the boots, shoulders and head – It’s wonderful getting shoes other than the racial ones that fit
I’m thinking of putting the chest and legs on my necromancer for pvp since she has nothing.
And I thought the beauty of Guild Wars was I could drop and start playing the game anytime I wanted, this is disappointing
You can, just don’t expect to get the dynamic stuff that keeps changing. Logging in once every 2 weeks isn’t exactly holding a gun to your head :p
To experience the content doesn’t take too long.
The TP cost is sales insurance. Buying big things without insurance is not wise.
Maybe you should return sooner :p
Preparations would be nice.
tbh anet turning my achievements into permanent MF boost on all my characters is a nice present :P
Mainhand shield with offhand Pistol would be crazy :p Though to OP toolkit rocks your face, and then confuses it.
You have 4 more days, shouldn’t you be doing them instead of posting on the forums :p
Hint: Don’t miss the content if you don’t want to miss it. You had plenty of time.
They have teams working on large long-term contents. The 2 week releases are to fill the gaps.
I like this. If you aren’t even playing more than twice a month, do you really care enough about the game to care about content updates? :P
Sandwichmancer should be a thing, make the crafting a class like in FFXIV:RR :p
250,000 is a valid sample size, scientifically, come back when you’ve tested that many times.
yeah, something to consider.. i notice the minor traits in master tier cause at-location blasts for fire and earth.. air is highly inconvenient outside of pvp as it causes an at-target or a find-target lightning strike.. really, annoying when you attune to air and enter combat mode from some nearby ambient creature z_z
This was fixed to in combat only last year.
Being poisoned or burning when my cleanses are on cooldown is horrifying.
The level of RTL nerf was NOT justified. It was very strong when it was 1500 range on a 15s cooldown. It would be balanced as 1200 range on 20s or even 900 range on 15s. The ENTIRE reason for the nerf was pvp where eles could RTL away from a fight, heal up, and be back 20s later in a ball of lightning. That is easy to do when one skill takes you 1500. If they simply made it a 900 range skill on shorter cooldown it would be more reliable damage, and not a “get out of jail free” card. This change made ele way less fun for me (I need my elite to get away from people?), and made the RTL unusable as it frequently misses/bugs and still goes on 40s cooldown. I mean, what is the point of 1200 range on the current iteration, when it RARELY hits from that range anyway. It is really only useful for damage from ~200 range near the end of a burst.
I also completely disagree with the stance that versatility = no mobility. D/D is not all that versatile, it has 4 collections of similar spells with different flavor. Also, when people play D/D they are speccing for maximum mobility. Is that such a crime?
IMO, the best short-term solution is to roll an engie with rocket boots, but that will be nerfed too.
Oh well, we’ll see. But in the last sotg anet said that the new high speed boots were intentional due to the large elixir R nerf.
They want eles to be middle of the road for mobility, not as slow as necros, not as fast as thief. Our active defence is our heals and constant vigor, with energy sigil it’s a million dodges. Though I think the way we are stuck in arcane/water is an issue (and one Anet wants to solve)
I’m pretty confident for the future. nerfing rtl in non-critter environments isn’t that bad.
I would even preferred to see ele HP halved rather than RTL nerf.
……wut
QFE lol, RTL nerf was justifed, though would have been nice to get some increased range on a couple of other mobility skills to compensate, I guess anet want us in the necromancer camp, so they should give us the heavy pressure they can get.
I don’t think ele will ever stop being fun for me (I’m not the kind of person that needs to be optimal to have fun), though having an alt engineer is always handy, when one is nerfed the other is buffed it seems :p
I used to be a full time healer and i love my ele as a supportive character, lots of options for aoe boons/heals/cleanse. And crowd control on every weapon set.
Yeah the more I play fresh air the less I miss EA :p (for pve – still use the condition reduction food though, missing the EA cleanse is painful :p)
It’s half cooldown when you hit, glass is half full XD Either way they wanted it to be used in combat like mesmer mobility.
If I heard the last podcast correctly they want the mobility to be on the flaming greatsword. At least I hope that doesn’t get nerfed…
Actually they said that they are gonna nerf the greatsword mobility…
Not sure really I was listening to the podcast and they said they wanted to “look at” fgs, it’s a mystery.
They’re probably just going to screw over the 4-against-a-wall high damage ability T_T
