I honestly think they are outsourcing everything now. It really feels like it too, as things like dungeons no longer get any funding. And the things that do like the pvp is scattered and misplaced with bad decisions affecting the total game strategies and creative input from the players. They went with all these meta specializations that most knew were going to Limit choices. So now they hold all the cards and people play what works, as a lot of classes don’t anymore. As they tweak one class for the month making it over powered and then nerfing it the next. Is now a company about the bottom line (money) It has failed to be fun for quite some time now, i guess we fell in love with thier original ideals, those are long since gone . RIP
I don’t think you would enjoy much of what they have done. They made the content a little harder in the new zones, the gliders are fun and same with the bouncing mushrooms. The game as a whole is a mess, with wvw a ghost town, and the pvp puts you on win streaks and loosing streaks that the player base has already manipulated. The high end players who should be setting an example are using exploits with no penalties. It is actually the player base loosing maps because of this, with maps being discontinued. With 2016 looking so promising with a lot of new mmos coming out, my advice would be to hold on to your cash for now , wait for the sale. Or just play something that is well taken care of. The team that owns this has clearly dropped the ball, and they can’t seem to find it!
Diamond skin ele has Big counter, is called direct damage classes such as but not limited to marauder hammer engi, trap guard, power ranger, thief ect.ect then once they get you down to 90% they condi the livin daylights out of you and splat. I think its good that tempest must choose either no crit in earth or no condi above 90% both have strong counters if you know how to play.
I would just like to add, that i’m not against over powered players that are very skilled and have practiced to be very good. Say a (god) thief, when they get me i’m like kitten that guys good he must have practiced his kitten off. Not the default the games broken kitten response. I think there should be progression for people who want to play at a high level. This bunker mesmer is not the case in my opinion.

Not sure , anyone else notice 1 class always seems to be broken?? Right now it is mesmer bunker, ask any mesmer, they will tell you strait up its broken. Not only can they hold a point against multiple players, but can now go back in time and ignore cool downs hitting you multiple times with ELITE skills not ment to be played that way ( got moa 3 times in 1 fight)
mesmers that run this build dont have room for a lot of condi clear. it takes a while (FAR TOO LONG IMO) that class is broken, is not a qq its a complete change in game play. all you need now is 2 mesmers to cap a point and sit, rest of the team goes and kills. they keep giving mesmer op broken abillities (anyone remember the prismatic understanding 100% stealth??). one of the devs g/f must play mesmer, is the only explanation!

they have gone total opposite of anything diverse, instead took all the fun out of the game to make it easier for devs. good luck changing their direction, would be easier to find a game that has more to offer than click and play builds. gg colin

i think the only thing ANet will listen too is a BIG drop in players. Oh i still log in every day for my rewards ( in a hope they will some day get it together) but am not going to threaten to quit or harp on everything they messed up. I think they know. Just collect your rewards and wait for them to make the proper adjustments. If not please don’t give a rats kitten .
My understanding of the direction of necro is a counter class, the mobility is not horrible, but not the best either. We now have access to 100% up time to return conditions. Trait into signets and you gain 4, dagger off hand makes 5, and the staff would give you 6 as well as you can trait into a passive minor that will transfer when you reach a certain hp that is 7 total. please tell me you can manage 7 cool downs?? Make yourself tanky to direct damage with runes and amulet. What are they going to kill you with?? Proper management of your death shroud, should make you next to unkillable. Unless they dog pile you and i smile when that happens because it means i take pressure off my team. is a win win. go necro go
There is no balance because they had to turn the dps way up to make the new changes feel more optimized. Gaining specialization huggers that will now defend the new system. Once they turn it down and fix the bugs, you will see all we are left with is less choices.
necro has some viable options: the warhorn, with the daze is a nice stomp interrupt. spectral walk with the added life force and return . the signets are now useful if you trait the condition return. death shroud can be trait’d for quickness. so yea , whats your problem?

i like it. some interesting ways to kill people. smash glass pull, fear, kick, knock back, daze, stun, root ect. so many interesting ways to utilize this playground. think out of the box for a change, get creative and have fun with it. It really is funny (as long as it doesn’t happen to you) haha
Looks like a marketing decision, with promise of new weapons and more specialization lines, you will have to pay for that privilege. The rest who don’t want to buy HoT will be stuck playing this stripped down model we have presently.
ranger got a huge buff patch before this one and still have very viable options. QQ awe sorry you can’t free cast for win every game. Pressure the ranger they will either run or die because most noobs need a pet to protect them ( true story)

Most are disappointed in the loss of choice, at the same time most agree not having stats bound to lines is great. The specialization huggers were gained by turning the dps to 10 and making the game feel more optimized(i feel this more in pvp and wvw check threads). In reality it caused a lot of balance issues and bugs. When they fix those, all will be left is less choice!
I have been in many guilds. once the leader goes, guild is done. sorry is a fact. i have seen guilds drop (full members ) because this patch. They wont cry on forms, they just leave.

It does get frustrating Q’ing up with pugs. Half the people are still going down the list on meta build to try and find something they like, but have 0 clue on how to play . Maguuma is probably the funnest server to play on ATM
For myself, it depends on the skill of the ranger and who gets opening strike. I will most often destroy a ranger with confusion, (they seem to confuse easily) i will almost always open with the prestige to apply burning and to get my mage out, while my mage lets off a couple bolts i hit with confusing images, spawn mirror images and then shatter with cry of frustration this should have around 11 stacks on them. If they dont clear just decoy and spawn more illusions to finish them off. If they get opening strike, you need to stealth to reset the fight, the only time ill loose is when my stealth’s are on cool down and they open on me. The key to beating a ranger is to apply pressure, most will die. Let them free cast and you will die!

vayne i hear you bro, these are the devs of games as early as DOAC, wow and warhammer. they are on no time crunch. i believe they are making the best game possible. i guess we will see. i feel your pain with the other games you mentioned, big hype and fail with delivery. I honestly don’t think this is the case kitten many investors are gamers, not only that. but you have the seasoned vets vs the kids in gw2. i guess we will just have to wait and see.. my money is on the vets.

If you look at a game like Camalot Unchained who have recently released some trait system footage, and compare to the direction of anet, i would be embarrassed . The customization is not even on the same planet. Seems the easy way out for devs and cookie cutters for all. Whats this?? the mcdonalds of mmo’s? Click and play system? Why give any choice at all?? Just have 3 buttons , dps, bunker , condi and be done with it!
i have not been 1 shot by a mesmer. I have been shattered by 2 mesmers at the same time and that was insta death, like the nades. I guess everyone plays engi till they fix it
