I have never left a match out of rage or any other reason. I was having bad weather, I dc’ed 3 times in a row and now I have dishonor for one day and half? Seriously? That is absurd. I play more than most people do and in all the time I have played, I’m sure it can be seen that I never left matches like that. And the length of the dishonor for the first offensive is absolutely absurd.

I don’t understand the outcry. If you are winning you will get them. Gw1 had a system as such. Balthazar points. You get so many you unlock stuff. You spoiled brats just want everything for nothing. Work hard get rewarded.

There’s not much to go on, as it’s the implementation that will matter.
How much gold should we expect?
What will replace rank?
If everything can be bought with gold, now does that mean we will have people with credit card in hand buying armors that previously were signs of prestige?
If that’s the case, will “prestige” be moved to rewards tied to leaderboard/ladder position or divisions?

It all sounds like it could be catering to pve gold farmers, where are the exclusive rewards for skilled players?

There are too many currencies in this game, that’s for sure, but I don’t think that the pvp-based glory was a problem. It smells of wanting to monetize pvp through gems.

I really really hope they don’t make it so there are no skins that show signs of you being a good player. If players can just buy all the skins through gold that will be very disappointing.

I feel if there is any transition between pve and pvp gear it should only be one sided. You should only be able to carry over pvp gear to pve not the other way around imo.

They are trying to do like the government…and unisex..instead they are trying to make no separation from PvP/PvE…I say…Illuminati.

Well, on the bright side…I came back two days ago after a few months of not playing…and all these rank 60s and 50+ that farmed their ranks…lost every match….the only teams that had players rank high 50s and 60s that won were legit those ranks and known players. Half these people that have those farmed ranks…I have never heard of in my life and are irrelevant and can suck my D.

Exactly. They just need rank/finishers for tPvP and same for SoloQ and another for hotjoin. Easy fix. But, maybe when they bring in new game modes they have ideas for doing that. At this point who cares. As much that is wrong with the game and all the crying on what they can do to fix it…it’s the best game out there right now. Settling for less is the only option.

Skill points. Now we have to UNLOCK skills. Meaning that players who have unlocked those skills will have an ADVANTAGE over those who have not. The playing field is no longer even.

I just came back to the game two days ago and my lag in SoloQ is just unplayable really. Especially as a bunker. Once my lag spike has ended, I’m just dead. Sometimes the lag spikes are about 10 seconds long. Has anyone else had this issue or a way to fix it? Meow.

Why try to schedule practice times etc. Most good teams/players have quit or disbanded.

For a game that is literally brand new, the player base for PvP is awful….

The game isn’t brand new…it’s over a year old. In terms of gaming it has already seen its best times. Six months to a year is where you see whether an MMO is going to be sustainable or not. I think we have our answer as it relates to GW2.

rank 32, I think I have been in 10 hotjoin match since I started to play tho, I don’t want to be forced to play with other rank 30 that farmed their way to 30 doing hotjoin all the day long. But I would realy like if ranks would mean anything in this game, the only thing to do now is to reset ranks and re-assign ranks based on the real team\soloQ experience. I want to see a real rank 60+ and say “crap, this dude have realy spent his life doing pvp”, right now I laugh at many ranks 60+ instead.

Well, see you are not safe. Rank 30 would not have it’s own arena. Like I said, it would stop at r15/20.
Rank does not mean anything. But, that does not mean that there should not be an arena for people that are below rank 20. Meow.

If they split pvp more, then you would have 15+ minutes queues. Even now it sometimes takes up to 10 minutes, which is too long for a lot of players and they rather play hotjoin where there is no waiting. Long queues would result in more 4v5 scenarios which would end up in people abandoning tournaments/pvp anyway.

THIS. There are so few people playing pvp already that waiting for a full team of people within your rank bracket would be crippling and probably scare off many people from playing. I know hotjoin isn’t amazing, but neither is solo que, and for God’s sake sometimes it’s just fun to have hotjoin lols with a coffee in hand being able to alt-tab back and forth to check forums

Even though HotJoin is not taken seriously for many reasons, too often it feels completely random, zergy and imbalanced.
And while a little bit of these can be fun, you are drowning in it so much while playing HotJoin that the whole experience is often more frustrating than fun.

If this is supposed to act (to an extent) as an introduction to the game for people new to PvP, it is a very messy one.

HotJoin should mean “fun to take a break from competitive games – and you can hop in and out”, and not “imbalanced and frustrating PvP experience – of which you can take a break when playing soloQ or tPvP”.

That way people of lower ranks can actually not be turn off if they are being romper stomped by better players. Seems like a lot of lower rank people complain of this. Just an idea. Have y’all thought about even trying this?

I know in Gw1 there were arenas for lower ranks. I know they didn’t last. But at some point early on in the game there were filled with people. We use to actually carry on low rank tournys in the Ascalon Arena. Good times.

We need arenas for different ranks.
You would have to make like
r1-r10/15 arena
r15/20-r30 arena
and so on and on…
Or at least until rank 20/25. Then put people in with the masses.
But to just put people that are r1 out there to survive goes against their basic rule of making the PvP playable for everyone of all PvP skill. Kind of counter productive. IMO!!!

Like anything else in PvE. It’s just another grindy thing. This is what keeps me away from PvE. Can’t balance PvP with PvE. On a competitive level of PvP that is. PvE takes just way to much time to be able to achieve what you want. I manly PvP. I like the PvE in GW2, but the turn off is…In order for me to be able to really enjoy all the perks of PvE is to not PvP. Which brings me to another point: balancing reward system in PvP to where I can make some gold or gems to convert to gold. So the amount of time that I spend in PvP is not gone without being worth it. Gw1 had a perfect balance of being able to PvE and PvP through Zashien Quest/Bountys.
