As someone who monitor gem price daily and play abit of exchange, I would say investing in gem/gold exchange yields so little, you will need to throw in quite a huge amount of gold and wait for a long time before you can see a significant return.

Demand and supply will tell them in time what is expensive and what’s not.

Items with no demand will drop in price or fall into discount catergory.

A post here on how expensive a certain item is with thousands others agreeing on it will do not anything when a handful of rich people are still spending hundreds and thousands of dollars on it.

Ferrari do not need half the world to own their cars.

What makes you think Anet has a team working on balancing game stats and skills but no one to monitor and balance gem/gold rate and BLTC, their source of income?

We can’t stop elitist in the real world, we can’t stop it in the game world.

You can help by running with dungeon newbies, teach them the ropes and tell them to in turn help other newbies in future. Good gestures are always pleasant to remember.

Bots probably don’t level by doing dungeons…that is stupid. And yea, they don’t care about what you say or do to them.

It might’ve been a Chinese/HK/TW legitimate player who do not speak English well. When he realized he was being made fun of, he left. My guess.

The starter of the dungeon i.e the one who goes in the gate first will be the leader and IS capable of kicking everyone simply by leaving party. The worst part is the leader remains in the instance when everyone is kicked.

I know cos I did it before…accidentally.

Don’t do that, the game needs less jerks.

Dungeons bring out the worst in people. I’ve seen all sorts of people ever since I started dungeons. Probably losers with low paying jobs and no social life.

While I do symphatize your grievance, I agree with Psybunny that we just have to deal with it and pray hard we will never run into these a**holes again.

If you want revenge, run with them on an alt again. Start the dungeon yourself and let them have a taste of their own medicine.

But remember, being an a**hole is not a talent. It is a choice. You are not them you can be much more.

I’ve tested it out a few days and idanbarh’s theory seem accurate.

My first toon did her usual run and got 60 tokens for 2 paths. After which I switched to do 6 consecutive AC runs on 2 toons (3 paths each) which all yields 60 tokens. Finally I go onto the second toon to finish his CoF run and get 60 tokens as usual.

This only happens to CoF. There is no need for the 1 hour waiting time for AC.

Exotic is max stats already. If that is not a good enough reason, you are implying you can get a legendary within the same amount of time.

No there are no better gears. Be it looks or stats, the offer is good.

Dungeon run for dungeon gears, karma farming for karma gears, wvw for wvw gears, pve farm for standard exotic gears whichever you prefer. Anet isn’t restricting us to get the “best of the best” gears in “a particular method” so that 100,000 people stay at a same map farming for the same thing. Thank them for that, really.

Don’t mind if I be a little more blunt here. If getting the most returns in an amount of time is your priority, you should not be playing game at all. While we are burning time on games, people are rolling in cash enough to buy a luxury car or apartment. That’s right we all live our lives different, just as we all play the game differently. If the fact there are people who go for looks rather than stats shocks you, it is time you go out and visit the real world.

I would say a one time reward of maybe 100 tokens, just like the helmet, would be a good idea to encourage story mode.

But different people enjoy the game in different ways, so I wouldn’t condemn one or another. If I do story, I would want to do it with people who really enjoy the story, not another “speedrun”.

From experience, the lower level do die alot more than the rest. Of course dungeon experience > level anyday. A level 35 AC veteran will definitely help alot more than a lvl 80 full exotic dungeon newbie.

Personally I accept most level range in my group . I accept dungeon newbie as well. I don’t mind spending 30 minutes in a run slowly teaching them part by part. That is because back then when I did my first run, I met a nice group patiently teaching me everything.

I did something like this, which I feel very remorseful till now.

I was in a CoF 2 group with one guy screwing things up at the acolyte part. I was so kitten pissed right after the boss is downed I left party WITHOUT REALIZING I WAS THE STARTER OF THE INSTANCE. Everyone got booted before they got anything.

It was my fault. Everyone else in the group was fine except him. I tried contacting the rest but everyone was using long toon names I couldn’t remember any of those. (And for some reason the game erases party chat log when you leave party ._.)

So if you happened to be in that party, I sincerely apologize

I am positive this is a recent change. Both toons were getting 60 tokens on first runs before that.

This is weird, cos I do not seem have to this problem in AC. It only happens in CoF.

I will do a few more tests and see what happens.

I’ve been doing dungeon runs for a while, mostly AC and CoF between 2 toons.

Recently I noticed on one of my toon, she is getting 30 carvings in CoF on her first run of the day. The other toon has no issue at all.

From my understanding, first run yields 60, second 20 and third 10. Even if I get my timing wrong, there is no 30 carvings reward.

And it happened for 2 days so it cannot be a timing problem.
