If that’s how you play the game you probably have a shortage of a lot of things. Farming certain stuff in this game rarely works very well. The TP is the answer.

Nor do I farm.
I will have a huge shortage of everything but the problem will go away once I log off.

I would really hate to impose on others on a daily basis, but it will be greatly appreciated if you can spare a moment once in a while to let me mine some quartz.

While I can understand corns are used to buy more comestic stuff and toys, why crystals which are essential ingredient in ascended crafting not available anymore except in TP and old event rewards.

Language, while a cool idea, is quite a project.

Fictional languages like elvish in LOTR and Na’vi in Avatar are carefully planned out and built. They actually have a language structure. A linguistic proffessional was actually hired to create Na’vi language for the movie.

If Anet were to create even for one race first, it will take quite some time. But yes it will craze GW lore fanatics.

Dungeon tokens will get you your first set.

Decide on the stats.
Find the dungeon that rewards armor of that stats.
Run it a several times.

Both are awesome.

But mesmers without Runes of Traveller are awful at exploration due to movement speed.

Also, I frequent Rata Sum, so we may run into eachother there if you are also there a lot due to megaserver throwing people from all servers into a mixing pot. Wardrobe transmutes don’t count anymore?

While I like the idea, a fully customizable weapon with particle fx doesn’t seem very possible atm.

In PVE, go full damage i.e. zerker.

In WvW vitality is more important IMO.

PVP, well armors stats are free to change so no worries.

There is nothing illegal here.

By the term SELL means transaction for CASH. Means selling your whatever for CASH.

It is widely known that selling game items for cash is illegal.

Plus in your case, whatever is being sold is actually bought with legit gems. Legit gems bought with cash.

Get a girlfriend.
Get married if you already have a girlfriend.
Have a kid if you already have a wife.
Bring them on holiday if you already have a family.

Made my legendary a few months after launch.
And I realize no one in game cared if I made one.
Quit for 10 months after that.
Realized no one in real life cared either.

Came back after 10 months. See legendaries everywhere.
Playing the game normally and casually.

A happy man.

Here is a summarized answer for you.

There are no healers in pve.
- In dungeons, the best way to keep your party alive is to finish off the mob fast.
- In open world…seriously nobody cares at all.

Healers are useful in wvw as a small fraction of a zerg. Even a small roaming group. While you get your satisfaction of making a difference, healing doesn’t reward you loots.

In tpvp/spvp, there are some builds (not sure if they are still useful) that builds around cleric gear but you are not gonna kill the enemy just by staying alive. Try search for retaliation guardian. It is an old build but you can play around with it.

Dungeons, PvP, WvW, exploration, personal story…they are all the same.

Yea some may be faster but face it, it gets boring down the road. So choose the one with the most fun and enjoy the leveling process.

My story:
My first ele was leveled through exploration and personal story (the normal way most people did when the game launched). I enjoyed playing her and understood her well.

Then I went on to level 5 other characters through wvw and dungeons to 80. It was fast as I had a guild to help. First few were fine, but it got boring soon when I reached my 4th/5th.

After I made my legendary, I got so bored of the game that I quitted.

10 months later I came back. I played the game normal way again with a mix of exploration, wvw, PS and dungeons. I leveled my last two professions (necro and engineer) to 80 and even remade a new mesmer.

My faves now are my ele and mesmer, my first and last professions.

I’ve been going full zerk mesmer for sometime in wvw with gs sword focus and pistol. I like it but I would like to try staff cos I’ve heard it is pretty good.

My mesmer is quite new so I have to say I don’t know my staff well (I don’t even know what skills are there for scepters and torches lol). Neither am I familiar with the condition concept on mesmers.

I’ve checked out a few staff build guides and they mostly point at zerker gears. Are they ideal since it seems to me it is largely conditions when using staff?

Last I check, you cannot infuse a transmuted backpiece.

I hope I am wrong. Been dying to apply my Rox quiver.

IMO, the unlimited harvest tools and salvage are good but aren’t exactly essential. I have them and yes they are convenient.

But for starters, I feel it is almost ESSENTIAL to expand bank slots. It is ridiculously hard to play the game with only 30 slots.
I am a hoarder and I max out all my bank slots. They are still full 90% of the time.

Warrior is great and all but…I find them boring.

In reality nothing has changed when it comes to skinning your armor. Most the time you didnt use the transmutation stones because the skin you wanted was a level 80 skin or the armor you wanted was a level 80 armor both of which wouldn’t work with the transmutation stones. So you saved them up or got some crystals and waited till 80 anyway.

There are still a few free charge skins, the skins you get from your achievements are a free charge skin

You’re right that in essence not much has changed about the transmutions. But to be fair, if you got a bunch of stones from story quests/completion you’d really have no reason not to use them on low level character because it’s not like you can use them on lvl 80 gear anyway. And there are a lot of lower level versions of nicer looking gear that you could use, also.

You are right from your point of view too.

But say back then prior to this patch if we are able to convert 3 stones into 1 crystals via mystic forge or whatever means (which many people suggested before this feature was introduced), most of us will not use the stones. We will save it for crystal conversion and bear with the short-term plain look.

Simply because the only way to get crystals was to spend cash which many people aren’t willing to.

Stones had never been an issue for people since exploration/dailies reward you stones.
But crystals, the one needed to transmute a lvl 80 gear, was the issue because it is harder to get without spending cash.

Granted the use of stones could’ve been retained (I do wish too), but the feature to convert them into crystals (now known as charge which is a currency rather than an inventory hogging item) is most welcomed.

Now wvw offer one-time applicable common weapon skins at the cost of as little as 7 badges. It will be great if this happens to armor as well.

What do you think a player who invest more time should have?

More gold?
More AP?
More skins unlocked?

Or gears with significant edge over the others but requires hours of grinding, which will probably bring about protests that Anet promised no grinding from the start?
There are people who already complain that ascended is too grindy.

I concur this. I mentioned it before the patch.

Although technically speaking most of us have more charges than we will ever use, I’d hate to waste a charge.

But if I really have to choose, I’d waste it than waste a bank slot.

For now I will keep the skins until the need to free up bank slots become dire.

No one is disputing that fact that it is a way for Anet to earn more money. I don’t even think it is disguised, anyone with half a brain can tell.

As for pre lvl 80 transmutes,why bother?
It takes less than a month to casually level a toon to 80,and

Why spend resources on gear that you will use only for a few days?

Maybe because not everyone piled up transmute stones/crystals.
Maybe because not everyone likes to rush to lvl 80 asap.
Maybe because some people like to have a bunch of alts to switch to and like to have specific appearances on them.

Dude, if you intend to stay <80 forever, feel free to use a charge. It is not a waste as long as the charge serves you long enough before you decide to change.

Yup. <80 transmutation is more expensive.

I will just stick to costume tonics until I am 80 to get over the assorted junk look.

To be honest, I like the that 3 stones can be converted into 1 charge.

I believe most of us, if given a choice again, will choose to save those stones we used to transmute <80 armor that lasted 5 to10 levels and have them converted to charges today.

I really don’t think anyone would use stones now if they even could, knowing it can be converted into charges.

AC and HotW dungeons. Very easy to farm.
Arah too but you gonna have a hard time getting into a group if you are new.

You can get them with wvw badges as well.

But easiest will still be AC and HotW.

I don’t quite get it.

Say in the past, I want 6 arah armor pieces, I either
- farm them or
- I transmute existing piece I possess using crystals (which can only be bought or acquired from rewards)

So now if I want 6 arah armor pieces I can
- farm them like I used to
- transmute them with 6 charges (which can be bought or acquired from rewards), except this time I don’t need unused arah armor piece lying around. I just need the unlocks in the wardrobe

What has changed?

EDIT: oh yes, <lvl 80 transmutation is now more expensive.
But even a playing casually, you won’t stay <80 for more than a month. Most people reach 80 within a week and hardcore ones in days.

Or you can go to your bank, under Vault tab you will be able to see all armors of all weights and all weapons skins you have unlocked. Old pvp locker style.

Use the guild bank if possible.

Mailing large amount of gold (apparently 200g is large enough for anet ._.) can get you banned.
Although it can be easily resolved through support, it is a pointless waste of time.

Hold onto them. Anet said it will be useful.

Every pub run is casual, regardless of what the players themselves think.

Ok, I’m not as cool as you guys with premade. But what’s wrong with wanting to do 12 minutes cof pug run instead of 20 minutes?

I try not to discriminate the class. So I just put melee only. Out of all the runs I did this week, 5 of the ranger use bow and 1 use axe and none of them are meleeing(Even if I specfically says melee only!)

This drives me up a wall. Ranger melee is the most enjoyable way to play ranger, yet I’m the only one I see doing it in my fractal runs. Everyone just loves their bow too much to bring a GS/ Sword and an actually useful pet.

I’ll never understand the infatuation with bears, either. Why bring a bear when you can bring a vuln stacking cat or a lizard tank with burst f2? Are bears REALLY that interesting to most people?

My bear tanks the mobs while I mine that orichalcum ore.
