About serious discussion, does anyone know why mesmer’s who reflect alphards bomb pull with feedback/curtain deal like 4k damage, but when phantasms reflect it, they deal about 24k damage? Been trying to figure that one for a while now, yet can’t come up with any logical reason.
Is it possible that during the Damage Calculation of the Reflection, the game takes into consideration that you have 3 Phantasms reflecting the attack, making the damage boost stack Additively (Or however you spell it) whereas with Feedback it only accounts for the Mesmer’s personal DPS boost?
I.e since each Phantasms get the Damage boost for Increased Phantasm/Clone damage, it’d be x% x3 since all 3 are reflecting? Or have I misunderstood how reflect damage is handled with Clones?
That would be truly weird, I think you misunderstand how phantasm damage is handled. :P

I’m not that good, I need both hands to play piano. Could probably use my right foot for the rubik’s cube, though.

If he didnt die before he could leap, I’d help you test this.
Gl killing him before he could leap if his first attack is such.
Game over, yo.
Just a thought I had while watching him leap on me after a very unexpected timing for his AoE attack.
I noticed that sometimes he’ll leap up in the air, and instead of his AoE attack happening as he comes down, it’ll hit you (and then the ground attack right after, of course) as he’s in mid air or as he’s jumping upwards.
My thought is that if there’s some terrain that he “clips” on the way up, the stairs for example, it’ll trigger the code that normally fires when he “touches the ground”. Just a theory based on watching him, but I’d need to verify with more runs, I think.
Anyone else observe his odd ground attack behavior?
That honestly happens with almost all enemy attacks to me, so I’m not sure how realiant my information on this is. But yeah, that happens embarassingly often.

Miku, if you have enough boredom to do this, you’re actually better off calculating bitcoins with just paper. That even yields you money.
I can’t say what I’m more. Impressed by the achievement or impressed by the crazyness it must have taken to even think of this.

rT casuals […] no idea of meta […]
Someone help, can’t stop laughing my kitten off.

Just tested max dps engi build in a non organized setting.
Never again, worse reliability than necro.

How exactly are classes not imbalanced? I mean, what are classes even? Didn’t know we had school in gw2.

Now don’t tell me that was from guang.

Ideal wasn’t so ideal because once again you forgot that dungeon run isn’t just few fights with some bosses that do nothing like dummies in LA.
Even if they did nothing, the setup would still be pretty trashy.
Game over, yo.
I look forward to seeing a record with an engi only so we can beat it without one.
I imagine you’ll have to ask Jerem nicely or wait a few years
Wait what? hmm how about no? The only dungeon engi might have a place could be HotW P2/3, but that’s pretty much it.
Well, there goes that. Have fun waiting a few years spoj
Inb4 SC casuals.

I don’t even know who you are apart from “some guy on the forum talking a lot of kitten.” You’re basically Warlord 2.0 as far as I’m concerned.
Are you trolling or really so slow on catching up? I mean you even assumed I’m in rT.
Game over, yo.
Since you seem to be willing to give this a valid shot we should make sure it’s done properly:
Except for the usual “you didn’t read any of our posts, did you?”, I need to add that we are not willing to give this a valid shot. We did so, it turned out horrible, both in actual killspeed, but especially on anything but fights. Skips were awful and me as engi has always been lacking behind. Just as the mesmer.
Just once again, it now is on you to prove us wrong (oh, it actually has always been).
We know right that whatever we come up with, you will just comment with us sucking at playing and not being able to handle the complexity of the teambuild. Just do various bosskills with your dream setup, then it’s on us to do better times. If we got beyond that point, we will make videos of how quick skips are with out team composition, then it’s on you to show us faster one’s using yours.
I can just tell you, with our composition, we will get faster bosskills and much faster skips, theres not even a slight chance you’ll come close to our times. But for “getting tired of this kitten”s hell, do it for yourself. Just actually try to prove us wrong.

My god, leman. You honor this guy way too much. Alone your presence is honor overkill.

Aren’t multipliers additive in this game?
Two 10% modifiers would result in a 1.1*1.1=1.21 damage increase. Not additive, but “multiplicative” (which is better).
Game over, yo.
That would make you lose 20% recharge thing, which is worth more for sustained dps, as far as I know.
As for modified ammo, I thought bunker down was the new to-go? I don’t have the skillpoints to try it out, so if I was wrong about that, forgive me.
Would get up to ~14% modifier on average then, I guess. Engineer luckily puts out quite a few conditions.
But even then, it’s kinda nothing. Zelyhn just ran numbers on engi, came to the concusion guangs stuff was false as kitten and asked me for a practical confirmation on what his results were.
All in all, engineers are not worth any more taking into a speedrun than necros. Which means, not at all.
Game over, yo.
I agree to the lack of coefficient data being detrimental to not knowing the engineers place on the dps scale. Things like static discharge, mine field, bunker down mines. Though with grenade spamming alone, we should be able to have at least a 1.1 coefficient per seconds. Add to that blunderbuss and jump shot and tool kit, and baby we got a stew going.
Then take into account that engineers have one 5% modifier while endurance is low and one 5% modifier against bleeding targets and… ohwait, that’s it. Bringing engineers to effective ~6% damage increase by modifiers.
Compare that to the 60% eles get, who also have higher coefficients on skills, are superior in might/fury stacking and kitten on engineers anyway, assuming frostbow and fgs.
Also, engineers are just extremely slow, if not using executioner’s axe and offering all three utility slots for mobility.
Game over, yo.
I think all of us know Guang has zero speed run experience, is pretty bad at the game and just wants to view everything in a vacuum – generally when he’s been right it’s because his guangmath has actually been applicable in-game, but things like “mesmers have high dps” and “use a ranger here” when the mesmer has like a 12 second ramp up time or the ranger has to deal with the awkward sword auto to dodge deadly attacks kind of throws all of the calculations off when you aren’t able to sustain the high damage.
Additionally, he’s known for calculating with wrong values, hence coming up with wrong results. I don’t know if guang has ever been right about anything.
Game over, yo.
Edit: Yeah, we’re totally blown away by the results.
Just like the abominations were.

And yes, I am ignoring the rT casuals now, it’s been like four pages and they haven’t given me anything worth responding to. I will apologize in advance to anyone in rT who isn’t intentionally being ignorant though, I don’t want to stereotype the entire guild on account of a couple of bad apples.
the rT casuals are able to dodge stuff in fractals compared to you, you scrub. and now go play the game instead of making kittened claims, which are far off reality, look like facts.
the only fact in this thread is you dont know whats going on ingame.
go and play the game.

I don’t think engi personal dps is that low, especially with rifle 3 and 5, but i’ll wait for the spreadsheet to be done to have a better idea. I mean, have all 7 character classes, might as well play them!
I’m so glad the “all 7 classes” finally caught on. I was beginning to think it was my fetch.
Don’t hate on necros, I enjoy playing mine a lot more than ranger or thief.
Get Jaya on, by the way, I got her a present.
….o.O. I will when I’m home from work.
Now I’m curious and dying of curiosity
Well, let’s say I forgot my NA account was full of t6 mats.

Dps isn’t that bad, but quite a good bit of it is bound to conditions. If conditions were already covered, you’re basically kitten d and deal less damage than a necro.

So if you think you can do better let’s hear it, otherwise I can just chalk you all up as another of those “LFG 4 more zerk dps war” wannabe meta types.
You somehow have a weird definition of meta.
Game over, yo.
He also doesn’t understand that engi, ranger and mesmer personal dps are kitten, that mesmers and engis are slow kitten and that thief stealth is superior to engi stealth, even without the use of smokescreen or SR.
Game over, yo.
I guess hendo’s scared, I put up the build and now he’s saying he won’t run it.
So there’s that. Anyone else wants to take a shot at it, feel free.
I would be scared, too. The only thing you forgot was suggesting to fill any remaining slots with necros.
Asura necros, you mean. Need dem battlesuits.
Game over, yo.
Nova, I’ve been saying that since about a year, guess if anyone ever listened.
As for the ranger, frost spirit and spotter would equal around a 10% damage increase. It’s still not worth to use the ranger for speedruns, simply because other professions just add more to the party and are way more reliable. Rangers still easily screw up, their personal dps is kitten, even with LH and the 10% damage increase isn’t really useful anyway. With 3 eles, basically all bosses die in a timeframe of a few seconds. Saving or losing 10% there is not of importance.
And for the engineer, even if it might have a spot in a maximum dps setup on an asura sized boss in the open (which I doubt), lots of fight use conjures, especially fgs. If those are used, the engi vuln is totally useless, aswell as the kittenty damage the engineer does himself.
Game over, yo.
We also forgot about the thief, dagger storm is quite reliable.
Game over, yo.
Well, ele’sploits at Lupicus. Magnetic Wave becomes epic strong 50k reflects if everyone stacks up correctly. As for Alphard, you’d simply save up two fgs’s to burst her down within 2-12 seconds. As for safety, a guardian surely is the better choice. You just lose quite some damage and especially movement speed.
Game over, yo.
You’d want at least two eles, one warrior and a thief for path 2. The last spot is basically free to fill up, should usually contain an elementalist or a guardian. All depending on tactics, of course. I imagine a third elementalist could come ahead of a guardian, at the cost of quite some safety, though. As for rangers, mesmers and engis, though, they have absolutely no spot.
Just to give you a raw idea what a possible team composition for said path could look like. Edit: Depending on restricted/unrestricted, a second warrior might actually become useful.
Game over, yo.
Yeah, I must admit he does. Although he lives totally far off reality, he’s isn’t a mentally broken coward.
