Uncreative, boring, idiotic dailies = uncreative boring and idiotic solutions. That’s fair. As a player, if i was going for the laurels, i would totally go for this kind of time saver.
Of course, Anet could also just give us somewhat challenging, non repetitive, non time consuming dailies.
I’m from Vizu, I have fun fighting the VoTF, I have fun fighting the KAZ, and i ignore the haters. If you’re from Vizu please do the same and don’t answer to the trolls (and don’t be a troll yourself).

Average PVE activity (quite active starter areas, Orr farming, everyone is in fractals and other areas mostly empty).

For me there are 2 things that i really hope and care about
1) WvW love
2) No new content/areas until they give us reasons to go back and explore the beautiful and empty world.
They already said that this was high on their priority list so my hopes are high as well.
What would break the game for me would be more ridiculous ideas like fractals where most of the community sits in one place to do the same boring dungeon over and over and over and over and over again.
1) more interesting WvW rules for scoring points and rank your server
2) better rewards for WvW
3) reasons to re-visit low level areas once you’re 80
It’s a topic that i see more and more and there are a lot of good points being made. I have high hopes for the january update which is suppose to give us more reasons to go back in the world once we are 80.
We need to be rewarded for doing hard stuff (like killing a dragon) not for mindless farming and grind.
All these problems I am going to list have to addressed if Anet even wants to consider giving WvW a surviving a chance in a few months.
Anet needs to redo the rewarding system.
Too many people that contribute to the actually winning of the matches aren’t rewarded.1. If you revive an ally that has been killed while a tower is under attack, it doesn’t count towards the defend event.
2. If you run supplies from a camp to a tower while it isn’t being attacked to repair, you aren’t rewarded.
3. f you are the trebuchet manner who’s been working to take down that fortified wall and not there for the actual attack, you are not rewarded.
4. If you are the scout keeper on Bay while Hill is being attacked to make sure that no surprise retaliation is imminent you get no reward while everyone else gets 1/5th of a level, 1.5k karma and 10 silver.As I placed in the suggestion forum, tower and keep captures rewards should be map wide, and I’ve also listed some reasons why it wouldn’t be a broken mechanic.
1. You can be a spy with 12 gold and literally put a supply cap on any borderland. Yes it’s a hefty price but it is currently being abused in some of the matches,
2. People taking supplies from a tower or keep that is so desperately trying to inch into the last upgrade is never completed (mostly pugs do this) even when everyone is telling that person to stop, 1 person can really ruin it for everyone.
3. Downed State is a major problem in wvw, because securing kills is being harder and harder, just bringing someone to 0 hp doesn’t bring any sort of reward, this brings out the game of number vs number, being outmanned 2 to 3 is not 50% harder of a fight, but easily 3 or 4 times, it rises up exponentially.
4. Towers and Keeps are being upgraded less and less because people are less inclined to upgrade them cause they get no personal reward out of it, spend 5 gold upgrading smc, only to wake up to find it gone.
5. Bad tutorial system, the tutorial explains towers and keeps, but it doesn’t explain siege weapons, what they do, the function and importance of SUPPLIES (The kitten blood of wvw, 10 supply is worth a player in offensive and defensive values) if you are running without supplies you are really half the man power you can be.
6. The buying system is punishing to committed wvw players and commanders. You make the exotic equips only purchasable through badges which is fair, but the most effective way to gain badges is through jumping puzzles not actual WvW action. Buying siege weapons is only possible through gold which WvW is less than stellar to provide and badges, which forces a player to hold off on their exotics. It has been suggested numerous times to bring in a third currency system, through points from defending, capturing points or karma, but our voices are rarely heard.
7. Stealth is the worst mechanic that is in open WvW combat, if a thief wants to kill a dolyak, it is going down, unless you get about 5 people to escort dolyak that takes 5 minutes to walk from point A to point B. There is no system to counter it and the oppposing end is helpless to stop them from doing what the want even if they are freaken 2 feet away form the stealth user.
8. Guard upgrades sucks more donkey nuts than the kitten ground that it lays upon. They are absolute trash, two people will always be able to take out all the guards without much trouble. Lord’s room never gets more guards from the upgrade which is really a flawed designed in my opinion. The Lord never benefits from the guard upgrade as well.
9. What the hell is the point of the outfitter upgrade? no one uses it. Siegemaster makes a bit of sense I suppose, but something like a merchant that sells Ash Legion Spy Kits or Hero’s Elixir (4 second invulnerability) or Nourishment material would make far more sense and be an actual useful upgrade.
10. Glitching through door or wall exploits.Should we actually change the magnitude of the reward per person? no
But we should be changing the reward system, but right now its terrible.
It only encourages non-commited wvw players to zerging an not defending or repairing.
I’d like to see these ideas being slowly tested and implemented. I can’t add much to that, you said it all.
I really hope to see some serious WvW love in February. If Anet disappoints then i’ll just silently leave.
The simple solution is to take badges and siege out of the jumping puzzle chest and replace the loot with typical chest rolls. Then just make a WvW daily achievement that awards the badges and siege instead. /shrug
Daily achievement could be like: kill 10 players, escort 5 dolyaks, capture 5 objectives, destroy 3 siege weapons.
I think that this would work out well because it promotes good habits without encouraging people to mismanage updates or siege. Allowing any objective to count would get more people thinking about attacking/defending camps, escorting dolyaks will get people in the habit of watching supply routes, and the kill/destroy will just come anyway.
Personally I’d rather have people contributing and getting bonus siege/badges for their efforts than screwing around in a jumping puzzle, but that’s just me. Give people two random pieces of siege, 10 badges, experience and 5s for completing their daily. If nothing else it’ll help people level up if they plan on only playing WvW. Even giving a level’s worth of experience would be fine as it’d still take at least 40 days for anyone to hit 80 this way.

The reason why I’m not suggesting defend objectives is because the daily needs to be able to be accomplished solo or in a small group (just like the PvE and PvP dailies). Defending a point happens in 2-3 minute intervals and can be hard to do by yourself, which hurts lower tier and lower population servers.Comparatively, flipping five sentries/camps is very easily accomplished solo, as is escorting dolyaks and getting player kills. Clearing siege off of undefended tower walls isn’t exactly rocket science either.
I totally agree. Queues for eternal battlegrounds are very long and it’s annoying to know that some of the players in there aren’t even here for pvp.
I’d like answers too.
I never dropped anything worthwhile in WvW. In fact, i go farm Cursed Shores regularly just so i can keep on earning some gold. It shouldn’t be like this. WvW players should get all they need within WvW.
There have been many more issues placed on the forums but I just feel that those seem to be the more recuring ones. If Anet had even mad an attempt to address any of those issues the game would not be falling as fast as it is but their opinion was sPvP was more important…… we will see after Feb if you still even have a game.
It’s not the 1st time i see some1 mentioning February as an important date for WvW. Did Anet say they will update it at this point ?
French server Augury Rock is very lively with groups for every dungeon.
I’m playing the game in french but i can say the same. The voice actors aren’t good, the dialogues are awful, the cut-scenes ugly and everything looks like it has been written for 12 years old. The “story” is a major letdown for me in this game. All the characters/races are huge clichés. All the norns are heroics are looking for glory, the humans are brave and faithful, the charrs are warmongers etc… There isn’t one interesting thing about the story.
Also it doesn’t feel at all like it’s about ME, more like it’s about Trahearne. The choices you are given are meaningless.
