There’s been a fair amount of whining in our (SF’s) map chats about how we’re losing and we’re “not up to the challenge”… For one, I think that kind of defeatist talking needs to stop. And 2, BOO HOO! We stomped kids in T8 for like 4 months straight, we rolled through T7 with 3 straight wins, and now we’re actually not rolling over ppl effortlessly and our ppl start to whine? It’s WEEK ONE of this matchup… calm down! We’re not used to a challenge so we need to adapt.

Personally, this has been one of the most fun weeks of WvW that I’ve played in a while, simply because of the challenge. I don’t get too involved with the politics of our server’s big guilds, but as I understand it some of those big guilds had some sort of disagreement or something, resulting in one of our best guilds effectively “sitting out” this week. I’m not sure whether or not that has anything do with our losing this week, but regardless I think our server needs to get past all the whining and drama and get back to being the focused, united team that we were the last few months in our rise from the depths of mediocrity.

Whatever the outcome is this week, I’m glad we’re in this tier now and I think we’ve found a good challenge. Whether or not we can rise to that challenge lies with us as a united server, so we’ll see what happens in the days and weeks to come…

Dark Haven can feel you there. We have had some silly crap in the past and the reverberations can still be felt …Ahem…..RESET anyone… But this battle has really kicked the hornets nest for our server…7 min CoF..whats that? Jumping Puzzles…Nah!
I think this is has been eye opening rally call for everyone on DH. Ive seen large groups using fields and finishers, pugs working well with commanders..In short the Dub V Dub Moons have aligned!

ive still seen alot of [king] in the BL’s im interested to see what happens when they are officially “in the fight”

Ill tell ya what! Im having a great time with with Sorrows Furnace. you guys Have So many people its insane! this is the most fun ive had since ive started wvw. And now that the darkhaven blood is pumping i think our next reset night is going to be one for the record books…take that in conjunction with SF’s [King] getting into the fight and this could end up being the fight to watch in Guild wars tiers!

Although i do have to say…I miss me some Gab up in here…i havent been accused of being a signet warrior in almost 3 days..and im going through withdraw.

Sorrows Furnace is some classy folks…i hope to be bashing your skulls in for many weeks to come! <3

swindler, ive see some of their small skirmish groups..and they are pretty decent. had some great battles with king. and ive also had my lil bag of goodies given to them in a rapid manner. lol…they have some mesmers that are unreal.

ive seen plenty of [king] in wvw this week. matter of fact at almost every engagement that [grim] is in we comment on the king players. So they cant be too too gone. hehe

well that sounds about right, im glad to see you guys feel at home here. When we first saw you on reset night we were like…O…M…G it seemed you had a million people in each BL. we would go to a camp and there would be 60 people there…go to a tower, another 60 guys. now it seems our populations are quite equal. This matching is going to be great practice for both of us!

well, i can understand SF’s frustration. when you get teamed up with people who wont shut the efff up. it can be mind blowingly kitten #8230;

I would also say that Sorrows has had a harder journey then all the other servers…being stuck in t8 for months at a time and kicking in the competition week after week…im amazed they have SO many people… which leads me to believe that SF is a great server and people want to stay there.

not sure if this addressed the issue like i was hoping..but hey, lets give SF some slack.

this scoring system is so lame its kitten #8230;. we are playing smart and doing quite well. but because its not the steam roll like we used to do to devona we lose points….just silly.

hopefully we get a third team that is equal to dh/sf so we can really have a battle….maybe shiverpeaks is up to the challenge? gates? who knows!

Had to poke my head in here to say Hi to Oozo and the oink,noqq folks. How fares the battle thus far? it seems pretty evenly matched.

I know that we are enjoying our new matching up in t6 . Sorrows Furnace is a power house.

Anyhow, just wanted to tip my hat..and to tell people to watch out for oink and noqq…they will quickly dispatch a group triple their size. so play smart!

for the person that said we havent seen something that SF has to offer, i cant wait! its been a joy fighting you guys thus far. I know Darkhaven has a lil sumtin sumtin goin on too! you saw our worst reset in weeks. I think next week will bring out all the finest people to clash swords with the juggernaut of doom rolling through the tiers that is Sorrows Furnace.

awe this saddens me…Stan you are officially the new Gab of the match. I dont think we need to fight on the boards just because we are putting up a fight on the field.

I think IoJ just leans whichever way the wind blows. some hate us, some have it out for you. at the end of the day…lets just enjoy what we have here and not muck it up on the boards <3…I love you Sorrows Furnace,please dont take your ball and leave 8(

well i do think coming across uneducated groups happens to everyone. yesterday afternoon we were guarding the camp next to your keep and sf kept sending droves of people at us. and while we were vastly outnumbered people just kept on walking into necro circles and other varieties of Aoe to their peril. So i think everyonce in a while the blood gets pumping and it vacates the brain cavity..lol

its nice for everyone to feel epic once in a while. random inflation of the Eee-peane is useful for morale!

ok folks, everyone keep the yucky comments to yourself…this isnt DR we are dealing with. its a very nice and fun to fight SorrowsFurnace…so clean the sand out of your Vah Jay Jay’s and lets have some fun!

yeah…but thats one guy. maybe he likes one server more then the other or whatever. but i can tell you there is no evil-laugh inducing plot to team up….matter of fact we wish isle would fight a lil harder so its a 3 way battle. but..they are doing better.

lol yeah. our grim mesmer squad is famous for causing large amounts of people to face roll their keyboards as they fall from cliffs and ledges across the borderlands. So im sure they were quite glad to get ya down.

If i may ask. what is the over all consensus of darkhaven from your server? came to any conclusions yet?

heya king, yeah some of our people do that /laugh stuff. I dont really find it acceptable unless the person is being a wang holster..but im sure they diddnt mean any disrespect by it .

Thus far I can say that dark haven really loves having you around. and without the nasty messages that we would get from a certain server. hehe

lol nah, to my knowledge darkhaven has never resorted to teaming up. even when we were facing people like Borlis who rang our bells.

Ok, now this is Fun…Sorrows Furnace i want you to have my jaxx babies! its nice to have a server that is an actual fight! Darkhaven’ers are elated to have a battle on their hands. Hopefully Isle drops down and we get an evenly matched 3rd team…then it would really be exciting.

Its amazing the amount of people you field , ive seen 60 man groups at camps lol and you swarm like Ethiopians to a sandwich! good times!

Again, I had fun this match up. it was great for teaching a plethora of new faces the wvw ropes. and while there is much to learn and teach. id say that darkhaven is better because of facing DR/isle, its always nice to learn things from opponents. so, thanks again.

very refreshing to hear someone say that. . I would say this though, i think t7 is a different animal now. henge and shiv peaks are viable opponents…when we were in t7 with gates and henge it wasnt nearly as competitive as it is now. So who knows.

All i know is im dying to face off with sorrows furnace …i wanted a rematch with henge also since some of our folks went over there .but it sounds like they have been kicked around a bit. maybe a lil low on the self esteem.

but that happens to all of us at one point or another.

So just to be one of the DR commanders not following suit with this thread, it’s been a pleasure playing against both DH and IoJ. Everyone wants to trash talk now and then but, at least in my experience out there, I have come across enough of you clever thinkers that will keep coming back to try something new, and I admire that. It’s a shame this thread has to be mostly bickering and of course some players from all servers will need to troll or cheat, but can’t we all just get along? Lol

While some of the other guilds are screaming to give up to help ensure we drop a tier I’ll be sad to see you go. My guild and our allied guilds will certainly miss the fun times provided fighting you both.

this right here is what kinda ruins it for me. That the ranking system is so messed up that the only way you can move tiers at a decent pace is have one of the teams thats losing just curl up and die to ensure servers move around. there has to be a better way to rate these servers and make the grouping changes more rapid. I mean, who wants to fight the same servers for 5-8 weeks in a row…/gag

As an edit. I would like to say that. despite the poop that was slung on the boards. I enjoyed fighting DR/isle . some of the guilds that we came across like oink and noqq really taught me that while i felt our basic fundamentals were sound “as a guild” that there was still alot of room for improvment. with the use of fields and finishers and moving as a group to protect yourselves ect.

So thank you to oink,Noqq and the rest of the folks that we had a chance to face on the battlefield. Hats off to you folks.

DH and IoJ aren’t horrible servers to fight. They both have enough people willing to fight outside the walls without a full blown zerg behind them to make things interesting. They are nothing like SBI in terms of pure boredom.

That said, I’m kind of getting tired of fighting the same people every night. I wish the ladders had more volatility to them.

thats for sure, I think the wvw base would be alot larger if people weren’t bashing their heads against the same people for 6 weeks in a row. for such a great game they really pooped the sheets on a couple key issues.

Ok, are we really back on this crap again. A person was cheating…its been resolved. Was it a lame thing to do..yes. does it need to keep being rehashed after its been resolved..no.

Ive seen people from both DR and Isle using speed hacks and the such. but i dont go wagging my fingers at the whole server because of one kitten head.

want a respectful match..people need to quit runnin to the boards every time they get a hair up their kitten

I know that over the past couple days , Ive been having some great fun running into some evenly grouped skirmishes and battles. especially with Oink..man those guys are awesome. So everyone just take a step back and enjoy the lil things! there is no need to get all riled up every time someone poops the sheets.

The reason we have been focusing on devona is because i think as a whole, Darkhaven feels that IoJ just isnt a threat….and besides that. Why would we attack the team that has almost nothing. If we take it from Devona its like double points….10 away from you and 10 to us. SO its simple math when you get down to brass tacks.

if we see isle with something shiny , we stroll over and try to take it..but for the by and large..devona has our cookie..and we want to Om nom nom.

Grim and a couple other smaller wvw guilds are running around taking camps and towers aswell as fighting the other small enemy forces that we come across. Very similar to what i see people from DR and Isle doing. Any server that only rolled in zergs would be demolished because the enemy could…just go behind them and take everything back.

In regards to Tullum and talking about what people should be doing in a group. I agree with you 100% which is why when im in a larger group im constantly in water trying to do as much healing and cond removal as possible. ive noticed others that see me do this also switch over and try to help out on the support end….lets see if it truly catches on!

I will give that to you. I see groups of <10 grim quite often, keep it up. Only other group I see is PD’s A-team who also happens to be the only group to even remotely put up a challenge 5v5.

i dont agree that its the only group. Because more often then not, when we are on our 80’s and not lvl 15up levels Grim ends up on their feet more often then not in evenly matched skirmishes.

I do recall being beaten by you oinks, you guys move really well and work as a unit to achieve a common goal. which is one thing we work on nightly, using fields/finishers and support abilities to change the ebb and flow of a battle, we get a lil better each time.

This is an exciting week so far! with A-net pushing the reset back further into the bankers shift We were really caught with our pants down because of our lack of coverage..and if i can be honest i think alot of folks are starting to lose a lil interest in the matching. Then take into consideration that the other two servers are teaming up on us and i think we might actually have a challenge on our hands.

This has made things fun again! ….lets rock.

Just to chime in on this whole “dark haven’ers are cheaters” garbage. Just like any other server in guild wars, there are going to be a plethora of scum bags,kittenrs,melon heads and hair lips.

Ive seen players from other servers run right through a wall while im chasing them. Ive seen players span amazing distances in almost zero time amongst other things.

But to say that our server is Poop because of it is silly. at the end of the day our servers are litter boxes and every once in a while you have to sift the kitten then…the minty freshness returns.

So having said that…if people are cheating..boot em.. If people are hacking….ban em….

but lets not say that an entire server is …crappy.

from what i understand , if things continue down current path we will see.

Who ever comes in 3rd this week (dr or ioj) will move down to t7 and SF will come up to our tier.

The next week one of two things will happen. Either we move up to t5 and their 3rd place comes down ….or….

the remaining server from dr/ioj will also make the decent into t7 and Henge will come up. giving us the DH/SF/HoD fight that id like to see….and t7 would then be DR/IoJ/Shiv peaks….which i think would be perfect for those folks.

Im really hoping we dont move up to tier 5 until we have a chance to face SF/HoD i think a couple weeks facing them will really take our fair weather wvw’ers and turn em into full timers…..then and only then will we have a real shake at t5 and maybe t4..in the distant future.

yeah Tuluum. I edited my post to reflect that point. But everyone knows that as soon as a server meets some real opposition that a solid third of its wvw population falls off the planet.

Some people only stick around for an easy win so they can wave their arms around and lick the drippings from the gravy train….time will tell what happens when the gravy turns to poop.

secondly. Borlis and anvil have way more “consistent” wvw’ers then we do. their last half of Grave and the entirety of their bankers shift has way more people.

when we would fight them, we would have the lead until sunday morning…then it was like a wave of doom causing me to lick my monitor and face roll my keyboard. We would wake up monday morning and a 5-6k lead was now a 10k deficit. they would get 500 PP ticks from 3-4 am until darkhaven folks got off of work at around 5pm. then as our peak would hit from 7-8pm until 2am or so we would be ahead in the pp’s but it was never enough to make up for that lack in coverage.

“as an edit” i do believe that when we faced bp/ar the last time we diddnt have the numbers we currently have. but im sure as we face some opposition all the fair weather wvw’ers will crawl back into super adventure box and 6 min CoF’s.

all i know is im super excited to face sorrows furnace. as ive heard they have a fire under their rears with something to prove…i cant wait for friday!

and to the person who asked why we always seem to attack Devona before isle. I would say that for the most part..dark haven feels Devona to be the better skilled of the two servers. and while you are usually 80-110k back in points " yeah yeah you dont care about points" we know that taking positions from you will put us in an even better position and open the 1st to 2nd lead, and have some fun to boot!

Gab, i think its fair to say that a good portion of our wvw base right now doesnt understand how the glicko system works and how points are awarded. They just think that killing is gettin er done.

Although i do have to say, i have seen alot of new players actually trying to learn the system and do their best to participate in a positive manner.

3 times this past week ive heard " what is supply for" in wvw map chat. So when you see something wonky going on, its safe to say its new folks learning the ropes.

In regards to this arrow cart business, ive never heard of it before. its amazing how people will try the craziest crap to get a one up on someone.

About the tiers changing, i have a feeling that SF is going to come up and either DR or Ioj will go down. then depending on how darkhaven does the following week,and how borlis does in the tier above us will determine if we move up to T5 or the remaining DR/IoJ goes down and henge takes their place.

I feel that a darkhaven/Henge/SOrrows furnace would be a great matchup. I also feel that Ioj/Devona/shiverpeaks would be cool too.

As a side note..and a bit of good times..if you have a second go to you tube and look up the “aint nobody got time for that” news cast…..it put a smile on my face!
