here is something i just worked out and its nice. I run a naga mouse but it could be done with any macro key board/mouse

Turn off the Auto attack on Sword 1 and you can use it just by pressing the keys. but then on your mouse make a macro so when you hold down a key (just the down stroke) it spams the sword 1 ability then when you let go of the key it stops immediately. this lets you have both worlds ie auto attack and 1 at a time and you are able to dodge without the animation lock. been doing it for a morning…and its definitely Sexy Time!

Im still getting this. any word what the issue is? it seems to be pretty wide spread?

did someone at Anet dump their coffee on a computer or something? 8P

haha yeah! they are on it “oh hey guys we forgot, using this skill animation locks you for 3 seconds!” all fixed now!

I sure wish we rangers got the dev that looks at thief stuff…sheesh

I just took the auto attack off and tried it, and wow! its even better then before. I can choose when to do the 3rd part leap. which is super nice! Just when i thought i couldnt learn anything new on my condi-gen..good times are sure to ensue!

as a person that almost exclusively wvw’s I can say that the main problem people have with thieves is the constant stealthing. and when your stealthed nothing takes you out of it. being blocked,Missing,being Dodged…all of which should take you out of stealth.

then to top it off, you get down to half health, switch to bow..teleport out, stealth,heal and jump back in ..over and over.

if the above mentioned brought the thief out of stealth i think they would be fairly balanced.

My Condi-gen313 ranger is my main and me switching from GS to S/D (axe/torch is my other wep set) really made things click. with the combination of Lightning reflexes and S2 im able to either open or close the gap 2500 yards almost instantly and while evading for the majority of the time! Also with thieves who never stand and fight and always take the easy way out. the sword allows us to fight fire with fire.

Monk, i think youre crazy lol. Darkhaven has a large “skirmish” base of people from duos all the way up to 8-10 man. From guilds like PD,FG,SoTC,GRIM ect. to act like SF is this bastion of small scale warfare when you folks are known for your hornets nest mentality.

to be honest, i think “skirmish” wise AR/DH/DR would be fun, again im just talking about the small scale stuff.

and in finishing , to all our folks on DH we have had a t1 guild come over and they are quite interested in showing everyone what they have learned, So keep an eye out for the toon Random Conditions and give him a listen.

i wonder if you make your pets the same in the water as out if it could negate the “swap” loss. someone give it a try

let me ask you guys that run that trait something..with the range increasing to 450 or whatever it is..does it work as a viable gap closer? I am really loving my ranger with my Condi-gen313 build but an extra gap closer that i dont have to spin 180 for would be super.

Had some great fights this morning with a couple Burn Folks. We gorged ourselves on badges and spikes and chests full of Zhaitaffy…which happened to give me Zhaiarhea.

All in all it was a great day! made some new friends , Kicked in some new teeth and got some new ranks.

omg…i have sun spots in my eyes from laughing at some of these attachments…the “coming through” one was classic…haha!

Anyhow….one thing ive seen more of this match then any other.."besides people running away " is after a skirmish getting an invite from the person to join a party and talk about builds ect. Its kinda neat regardless if you win or lose to shoot the poop with the person afterwards….i was also especially fond of being able to assist off an enemies target…lol

makes me wish my dear friend Gab would have sent me an invite so we could exchange sweet words and such. /spoonage

We are a Dedicated wvw guild that places our emphasis on 5-10 man skirmish groups. Our player base is mostly from the U.S so our prime time is 4pst-1am pst . We are not a huge guild, right now we have 115 members. so during our prime time we have between 10-20 members online.

Salutations folks! I’m really loving my condi-gen313 build but I’m having an issue w pet selection. I’ve been running panther and river drake. But besides aoe purposes I feel the drake is lacking.

So what would a good secondary pet be? Wolf for fear? Artic wolf for chill,cripple and knockdown? Bird for blind and swift?

This is my last issue with my build so any advice would be great

Im pretty biased towards asura, but on my Condi-gen Ranger i use lightning reflexes,The Asura Rad field and the regen sigil and it works wonders. So when i get jumped i pop engangle+Torch 5+ Rad field+ Drake Ltn Breath….it is Super gnarley!

yeah, early morning NA which is the end of Oceanic Prime they get some points, then the NA bankers Shift starts and its Curtains.

as a side note…when is fight club? i havent fought in one yet, just watched. But I have a hankerin’ for some Spankerin’!

Ahhh, yeah id rather have the Toughness then the healing on the trinkets. thats interesting though.

i have a few more tests i want to run on this build, maybe try out some of the asura racial abilities for a poison field ect.

Faux how are you getting that healing number ? With all settler now,weps, trunks and armor I’m at 1270 also any tips on sigils? I’m using a sup of geomancy on each set,then a sup corruption on one and full endurance on dead mob on the other.

well its not sustainable 100% of the time, in our skirmish group we stealth and field Prep before battle, So we all have 25 stacks of might for 25 seconds then as its comming down I drop a fire field and we blast finish ourselves back up.

i <3 field Prepping!

Salutations folks. I did some testing lastnight with my “bm bunker regen” build and decided to switch out my apothecary gear for all Settlers, Armor, trinkets and all. and here is what i found.

With Undead Runes in and Buffed, I gained (over apothecary and dwaynas)
about 250 toughness,300 condi dmg, and a few hundred armor. Although my healing dropped from 1350 to 1046…which i diddnt like at all.

So i put the Dwayna in the Settlers and this was a nicer mix and more what i was looking for. I gained (over apoth and Dwaynas) about 140 toughness,165 condi Damage about a hundred armor and the best part is my healing only droped about 85 over my Apoth Gear.

SO here is what i noticed in wvw.

This is the way to go! my regen Numbers only dropped by about 35 a tick but the increase in armor and toughness was able to give me some confidence in battle, The willingness to stick it out in a 3v6 until your heal comes up rather then falling back ect. and your able to get more gains from your consumable food ect with the toughness/condi damage.

Although im not nearly as experienced as Faux and the others I would say that every Condi-Gen should be running this gear as apposed to apothecary. IMHO

please note that I did not use the Settlers Weapons, as i diddnt want my healing to get below where it is now. ( I also purchased a wvw Ascended ring late lastnight that gave me 40 healing at the cost of 13 toughness.)

How do you get 3K on a mesmer?

I overstated that claim by a smidge, we did more testing lastnight and our mesmer buffed and field prepped had 2800 condi.

I think i took his buffed base and did the Might numbers based on 40/per rather then the correct 35/per….or im just kittened..one of the two 8P

I think the reason they are described as such is that they are “melee” weapons while some of them may have a smidge more range. they are hand held weps.

if you started talking about range in terms of point blank, short , med and long…the new folks would really be confused. IMHO of course.

strange things happen with pets, Ive found that if you use the trait that takes a condition and sends it to your pet (90 sec cd) once the condition transfers to the pet. agro goes from you to the pet also.

So maybe there is a hidden agro wipe in there.

as far as pet control goes i put it on guard and use attack/come to me and it seems to help. you can also use those commands to get different angles on enemies.

now if im fighting a thief or a mesmer, i use the toggle to Ermerrgad! Kill it all mode and it sticks to the real player.

im curious how yall feel about the HiPS trait. how long does it last? and can it be made longer with boon duration? also, does it cause your enemy to lose you as a target?

that in conjunction with a nice evade and condi application would make me feel like a super star. thanks a ton!

we were testing fields in our skirmish group yesterday, Normally My Condi-gen313 has 1700 cond dmg with food and corruption. and with the 25 stacks of might from our field the damage was WAY more.

some of our mesmers had 3100 condition damage and it was super noticeable over their normal amount also.

Id be interested to see the rate of diminishing returns

are we really going to make a post every time someone kills someone? if thats the case Darkhaven can compile the Encyclopedia Bagtanica with all the goods weve gotten this week <3

I have to say , Gates is Alot better this time around. Im surprised Sorrows Furnace beat you. Im guessing their huge numbers on reset gave them a 30k lead which was able to hold you off down the stretch.

as as far as players go, very respectful. just need to run a little less.

yeah, im already displeased with my ele since their nerf…if they change the ranger for the worse, im leaving the game…for sure.

I think if you could change the pets f2 to any of their abilities. and their pathing wasnt so awful the pets would be fairly viable. as it is now….they need some help.

my pet has been chasing people and if they double back the way they came the pet lets them run past before it attacks …i mean..really lol

Well a little update on my trying to space out the condi removal by popping the signet.

It worked on one rotation then seemed to match itself up with the trait so they both popped every ten seconds.

Also, i tried switching my weapons around to S/T A/D and i just couldnt do it. it felt so unnatural that within a couple hours i spend Another 3g on sigils to go back to the original wep position.,

all in all a great night of testing! wish it ended up a bit better.

Ive been an Ele main since i started. and i rolled a ranger cause i was bored…well i got it to 80 a few days back and decided on making a build based off of the regen-bm which i call Condi-gen313 (Condition, Regen, 0-0-30-10-30) and i have never had so much fun!

its great for wvw and pve questing. the abilities are exciting and action packed and youre able to face any class 1 on 1 without feeling the urge to snap your keyboard over your head.

to make things sweeter…..thieves are no longer an issue with their crappy play styles.

Roll a ranger bud….just level it as fast as you can and enjoy your hard work after that.

lol…i never said normally, i said “can come out of stealth with 28k bursts” Recently ive been hit for a 13.6backstab with a 12k something else.. that was on my tele churn ele.

i was just making a point that the nerf hammer falls in funny ways.

See thats the thing…you diddnt find a build that they werent expecting…they just dont care. they have us do the work then they nerf into the ground.

in the mean time..Thieves can stealth over and over in a short period. dodges,misses and blocks dont take them out of stealth and they can come out of stealth with 28k in burst…but they havent seen one nerf.

makes you wonder why.

In PvP if you put SoR on your bar at 5 sec till match starts the condi removal will be 1 every 5 seconds, then 3, then repeat. Instead of the 4 every 10 seconds. This could be done in other parts of the game if you get a condi on you, wait for it to be cleared and once its cleared get out of combat in the next 5 seconds and put on the signet.

Hah! beautiful! ill do some testing on this when i get on this evening. having condi removal every 5 seconds is supah smexy!

ET can only field 30 people on all 4 maps? diddnt know it was that bad. it sounds to me like the bottom 3 servers need to be closed and divided into the 6 servers above them. that would get rid of an abysmal tier8 and give 7 and 6 the same populations as 5,4,3,2

what if during the tourney there was a population ( one in,one out system) that capped the population to the team with the lowest numbers. Ie Ferg has 200 players on all maps, so the server they are fighting is only allowed the same.

I know it creates a queue that people dont want..but then the battles come down to the players ability and not being swamped by over pop

i second what Fo Sho said. a million +healing doesnt to any good if you dont have activators to get the juices flowing.

also, faux. Im curious if i could pick your brain for about 30 min on some ideas ive had. perhaps on vent or some such. Im really into this ranger stuff now. so i wanted to run some mix/max past you.

and you are so right about S/D being defensive…i fought a thief lastnight for 15 min and we couldnt get eachother below 50%….but 3 times a second person jumped in and i broke off, killed them and went back to the thief. It was one of my prouder wvw moments…but it showed a flaw in the build that if youre forced to stay in s/d you better pray the other guy poops the sheets or disconnects or the fight will last forever…

Im not super familiar with rangers in pve , but in wvw Rangers are a blast to play. they need some fixes but…all classes do.

if you looking for dungeon i would imagine SB- A/WH with cav trinks and zerk armor with beryl gems would work. and a stationary pet …like a spider or devourer.

But again when it comes to pve…im a green horn

See, i thought of that. how does the torch ability mesh with sword? i guess the fire field would be nice eh.

and in regards to the signet and trait? how much does it remove and are you able to space it out to tick every 5 sec?

Salutations rangers! I have a quick question. The Trait that removes conditions, How many does it remove and how often?

the next question when you also equip the signet that removes one every 10 seconds does the removal go on the same timer? or is it possible to spread em out so there is some removal every 5 sec or so?

i was thinking if i have the trait on and wait for it to remove the conditions, then count to 5 and equip the signet would that do the trick, or am i WAY over thinking this?

Also, in regards to weapons and evades, On my Condi-gen313 build i run S/D A/T

would it be wiser to change it to S/T A/D to get some evade on both sets?

Well as we were taking NSP Hills this morning there happened to be bridge construction going on with no signs posted about holes. As I was only moments away from the Lord’s room I fell in one of these holes. I stayed to warn the NSPers of these holes when they took over but they murdered me instead.

Please fix your bridge!

happened to me before, I will get the bridge monkeys to patch it up asap, they promised me it wouldnt happen again

I blame it on the tyrian bridge Union workers, they take a 30 min break every 15 min So its hard to get things done…true story hehe.

GRIM has had some great fights, its given us a chance to work on our fields and finishers and focus firing.

In other news, sounds like we are about ready to get an influx of folks from a popular server here in the near future, We get our Resets Fixed and Couches wont be safe in a 10 mile radius, Exciting times!

hmmm yeah, i run RVP and Tuning crystals for my munchies. well getting out of this root is the last part to complete my build. I am able to fight 3-4 people at once with this setup…until i get rooted and focused. lol

so any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Also, is entangle considered a Condition? would the signet remove it?
