I did 32k 100b on Necro (using shroud, its why I got that high number since everything dies before 100b is finished.

Also glass cannon warrior is viable in tpvp. You can kitten a whole team trying to raise or stomp someone. You have uber movement, better then thief and more survibility.
Lets not mention lol 12k eviscirate and immunity to damage with shield block and endure pain.
PS. Whirlwind instagibs any glass cannon thief even if he is in stealth

Make is balanced compared to OTHER CLASSES Skills.
There is no reason 100b does 15k damage and bull’s charge knocks down for 2 seconds (which stun breaker dont work)
Lets not mention highest survibility due to highest armor, hp, shield block 5 and endure pain.
Better yet give 100b to Ranger

I would prefer running 4 traps over 3 traps and 1 long cooldown elite which is quite easy to counter as trapper ranger
Problem with the nerf is that, Pistl Whip is the only damaging skill a S/P thief has. So now it’s either you Pistol Whip and use 5 initiative or you autoattack and do only slightly less damage over time for 0 initiative and you apply cripple and weakness in the process.

You could avoid PW easy. The stun is only .5 second. You can dodge roll before you swing the first damage attack.
As you see above, currently PW is useless. Using auto attack nets more damage then PW, all because bad players whined about an average skill.
Please note that the Invurnability Frame of PW is very short (you can stun before he start damaging) and the damage was lower to that of Mesmer Blurred Frenzy (IF Traited 30 Power 30 Crit. While Mesmer skill offers Invurnablity from start to finish).
The way to fix PW was to remove the stun compontent, damage was fine and did not need a nerf.
I hope this thread dont turn into OMG L2P, because I tell you the same. You want me to belive you cannot dodge an attack that takes longer then 100b to wind up. Before you say but stun, stun is only .5 and if you whine about immobilze, well Warrior and Mesmer both immoblize before their multihit skills. Also you can only use it 3 times MAX in a row IF traited for Initative.
All this nerf did was ruin PW in PVE. Just using Auto attack and Blinding Powder kills faster and safer then using PW.
Please revert damage of PW so it becomes useful again, and to offset this remove the stun compontent to give more time for people to dodge the long animation that locks thief in place.

PW was fine. It did less damage the 100b and mesmer sword skill 2.

Pistol Whip nerf was not about PVP, as it roots the thief while he does the 3 attacks and it was so easy to just ‘walk away’ in PVP. Just like the nerf to guardians, it was a PVE nerf. Most thief’s where levelling by just spamming Pistol Whip, so they nerfed it to force thief’s to use more then one key.
As for backstab, yes it can hit for 15k from invis (vs a caster), but that thief will be 100% glass cannon build and that is what the thief build is all about, get in close, hit hard and hope you crit and they die cause if they don’t your dead.
Thiefs who used PW are 100% glass cannon builds too

PW is used for PVE. You just screwed thiefs in pve with this nerf.
All PW needed was remove stun compontent. Now try backstab. That needs nerf.
Unlike bad players who die to PW, Backstab has absotely no counter. While you are busy you just get 15k backstab on your kitten from a stealthed thief.

Today I saw this first hand. I was trying Norn Thief and I had to fight against Asura Thief. I made my Norn Max size while the Asura thief was the smallest size.

Thieves have 17k hp as glasscannon, and about one button with sword and one button with dagger spam that does the everything required for a extremely fast kill, thats what is annoying people who gets instagibbed. Other classes they trait, weaponswap use utility and elite skills to counter a one button spam. That isn’t very rewarding for me at least, sure i got knockdown, weaponswapping, and stealth, and thieves guild for that extra flavor, but unless i met someone who really, really fought back, i didn’t even need to use them. Stealth stomping was the most used utility skill and it can’t be countered that i know of. And weapon swapping as a thief? Not required at all to get the job done, its mainly used for short bow teleport.
Glass Cannon thiefs have 14k HP and 800 Toughness.
Pet pet blows them up before they can attack me lol. I love my Fleabag! (Name of my Lynx :P)

I see people whining about Pistol Whip due to the fact you see PW as top damage. This is due to the fact that PW is the only damaging skill on Sword/Pistol Set.
A bad thief will just spam pistol whip. Most of them are so bad that they use Devourer Venom instead of using Sword skill number 2 for immoblize. Spamming Pistol Whip eats up all your initative and leaves you fodder for anyone if you miss it (which is frankly quite easy to dodge)
If you see good thief streaming like Lowell, you will see how he uses Steal to remove Boons, Blinding Power to provide support for his team, interput key skills and stomps with Headshot. Thats just using S/P. Shortbow offers more Combofield and Finishers.
Example is a Thief using Blast Arrow on a Healing Spring. AoE Heal for everyone in your team.
Please think before you whine.
PS. People should try out rangers more. They counter thiefs without even trying. While Rangers do need some fixing on bugged skills, they are no as bad as people say in spvp
Edit: Glass Cannon Thiefs have 14k HP and 800 Toughness. These make them really squishy and easy to instagib. You dont even have to focus them at all, aoe will do the work. I saw many times my pet doing 8000 damage on a thief

I’m sorry but Retaliation Guardain kitten my CONDITION DAMAGE BOON STRIPPING Thief with 2k Toughness.
Its awesome having 15k retaliation damage while stipping boons and doing only bleed damage
PS. Sorry Pet Class are kitten in all RPGs. AI is horrible and people loved Ranger in GW1 due to being master of the Wilderness not Master of a kittening zoo filled with kitten pets
1H Sword + Torch is great combo in sPVP.
You only use Warhorn for Call of the Wild, just switch to Torch when its on CD.
It’s not an “Ultimate” skill. Is it so hard to read the description where it says “Elite” skill? Sheesh. If you ever played GW1, an Elite skill is a skill that’s very different, has a long CD and has very specific uses. It’s not a OMGWTFkittenBBQ one shot skill.

Dear All,
Most of GW1 Ranger players loved Ranger due to being Master of Wilderness and Versilate. While Ranger in GW1 did have access to pets, the only times that pets were used were as body blocking in pve (B/P in Tombs) or RaO Thumper.
I am sure that if you give people the option to remove pet from ranger without reducing the effectiveness, you would count pets you see on 1 hand (especially in PVP)
Give Ranger a passive called Spirit Surge. This passive “merges” the pet with the ranger, catch is the ranger gets a stat boost so he will not kitten himself. Currently if you wish to remove pet, you reduce circa 40% of your dps.
Example: If pet is dismissed (NOT DEAD) Ranger gets Stat Boost by 25%
(Numbers not Finalized)
The Traits that work on pets will instead work on Ranger. Some of these may need to have their number toned down may, again it requires testing.
Example: Pet’s Prowess makes pet Critical Damage do 30% more damage. Instead this trait makes the Ranger Deal 30% More Damage. Please note this trait may be OP if accessable to player, thus I may need to be toned down.
On last note, Beast Mastery Trait Line will not work at all during Spirit Surge
No. No. And… No. Stealth + Attacks from 1500 range? Auto attack from 1200 range? Gets ranger longbow barrage?

Axe auto attack does more damage then GS Auto attack. Change to Greatsword after 100b
Chain stun CC by swaping between Mace/Mace and Hammer
Thief:
Swap Dagger/Dagger x2 with Energy Sigils for condition damage build
Swap Dagger/Dagger x2 with Intelligence Sigil for backstab builds
Swap between Any Weapon/Shortbow for chasing, creating combo points, finishing and escaping
Ranger:
Swap Warhorn to Torch before you enter combat
Use Torch to create burn combo field then switch to prefered weapon of choice
Use 1h Sword to evade important attacks then switch back to weapon of choice
Mesmer:
Swap between Pistol Offhand and GS Mainhand to chain CC
Swap between Staff and any weapon of choice to create your own combo fields and juke
Possibilities are endless. You are only kittening yourself by not switching.
Just look at how Ranger Traits and how much of them are bugged…..

Please stop with this ridiculous idolizing. Why does it matter what they think? Just because you’re good at playing the game, it doesn’t mean you know all there is to know about it. The game is only a month old. I’m assuming these players don’t like the Ranger because they exclusively play defined roles. They want to create a team were each player has one role, and the Ranger doesn’t really play into that as well as other professions. Which is fine, nothing wrong with that. But that doesn’t mean the Ranger is a bad profession overall.
I fail to understand how you can say Ranger is a decent profession when its absolutely horrible and useless in tPVP
