the amount I rage quit has kept me on rank 21 for the past 2 weeks.

This. This is why I’m still rank 14 even if I’ve been PVPing since the start. I don’t quit games, unless there’s a lot of pets on screen, but I usually stop after 2-3 matches due to excessive amount of raging.

Requesting an anger management tutorial in game, please.

Perhaps the most crippling but is the compunded attunement recharge rate (40% of 15 is not 9.). Why do people never comment on this?

9.375s is however 60% faster recharge rate than 15s. (100% faster would be 7.5s)

Yeah I was actually talking about this with a friend the other day. I think all the other professions have to wait 10 seconds before being able to switch weapons again, I don’t see why the Elementalist has to deal with a 15s cooldown on the attunements.

Imho, even just dropping the basic cooldown to 10 seconds would improve the Elementalist a lot.

I run a conditions build in sPVP as well, but I still like the shield more. My build uses the Bomb Kit too, so I can set people on fire by dropping a Fire Bomb and shooting through its aura.

It all comes down to your build and playstyle tho. Offhand Pistol definitely has its uses.

I’m an elixir fan, personally, but I think builds based on kits instead of elixirs are very viable too. You just gotta have quick fingers or good keybinds. :P

The Medkit can be really good for self or group healing, and it has conditions removal too on a 20 sec cooldown. The Elixir Gun is nice to have, even just to throw a regeneration aura in the place where you’re attacking or kiting stuff. A bomb kit can give you nice CC abilities, makes you put conditions on the enemies and even create AoE boons for you and your party (example: Fire Bomb and Magnetic Shield makes a combo and gives AoE Might).

What I don’t find viable yet is a build based on turrets, as they’re just too squishy and deal too little damage. The only turret I use sometimes is the Net Turret, handy when kiting people or just as a general annoyance. I do like turrets in underwater fights tho.

I hope this option gets added ASAP.
Also, it would be nice to have a – (minus) button next to the + in the traits interface, so that I don’t have to redo the whole build if I want to change just a little thing or choose the wrong points allocation by accident.

I only like to tease the OP professions of the moment when I win an 1v1 against them.
Something on the lines of “all those illusions did you no good” or “stealth moar”.

I shouldn’t, but I get caught in the heat of battle and the adrenaline rush makes me an kitten.

Elementalist is quite hard to play (imho) and it’s not surprising to see this few running around.

I usually go for Elixirs. Elixir H and B are a must have for me, then Elixir S if I got the 409 trait, else I use Elixir C. For the last utility slot I either go for Elixir U for dealing burst damage and quick stomps, or Elixir Gun if I wanna do some group suppot.

My elite skill is always Teh Box.

Last night I was playing a few games on my Elementalist to learn the profession a bit, and there was this Ranger who seemed to be extremely resistant to damage while hitting like a truck.

Now, I’m not the best player around, but I was running a conditions build, and with 8 stacks of bleeding and 2 of burning his health was barely going down, to the point that I would hit him for 0 with direct damage spells when he was close to death. I thought to myself that with a vitality/toughness build he could probably pull something like that off, but in theory that would have left little room for power and precision.

I don’t know much about ranger, so I don’t know if this is totally normal and it’s just me being paranoid, but lately I hear many people complaining about players who seem to have permanent boons, super health or extreme damage, so it makes me wonder.

Do you think some people are actually cheating? :S

While I love the concept of turrets, I feel they’re extremely underpowered.

Their damage is pretty low, their health is laughable (even with traits), and their recast times don’t really allow an Engi to move them around as needed.

I dunno if there’s something I’m missing or if turrets simply aren’t viable at the moment, so I’d like to know if any of you uses them in PVP and if they work for you.

I never understood the hate for Black Garden, it’s the warfront I liked the most. :P
It would be fun to see something like that in here. Anything to add more variety to the Control Points mechanic, really.

In my humble opinion: if you think about it, in most MMORPGs, people PVP to get PVP gear. Once you got your gear maxed, you either play for the fun of PVPing or to roflstomp lower geared players.

In this game, you’re already at the latest stage of the gear progression, so technically there’s nothing to gain but the fun of fighting other players.

Everyone is on the same level and skill is all that matters, what could you want more than this? :P

No. 2 is there to give everyone enough time to join up the match and start all together. People with different connection speeds might need more or less time to enter the match, so a little briefing time is useful to have everyone start at the same moment.

Here’s what just happened.
A necro, a ranger, an elementalist, all with one or more pets. And I couldn’t take a pic of their mesmers ’cause he was out of my line of sight at the moment.

This crap just needs to go.

This would be an awesome feature and I was surprised to see it’s not in the game already.

I play almost exclusively PVP, and I’d love to be able to save 2-3 trait combinations to swap as needed during matches. Also, since I like to try a lot of different builds, I’d like to save and keep those that worked well for me.

I’ll join the QQ bandwagon and agree that something needs to be done about Mesmers.

The cooldown on illusions/clones needs to be higher, because repeating their clones > stealth > heal rotation ad infinitum puts them a notch above all the other professions in terms of survivability.

Add a good damage output to a class that can reach immortality if played by someone who has a clue, and you get the most popular PVP class in the game.

So yeah, higher cooldowns plz.

Pets/minion/illusions make targeting horribly hard

Professions with pets mess up TAB targeting way too much, in my opinion.
If the enemy team happens to have 2 Mesmers, or something on those lines, it can take too long before you get to target the actual player.

There’s even been a moment where I found myself against a team with a spirit Ranger (3 spirits + 1 animal pet) a Mesmer (3 illusions) and a Necro (2 bone minions, 1 Shadow thingy, 1 healing pet).

Fighting in sPVP is usually so frenetic that mouse targeting isn’t an option, also because you often end up targeting a pet anyway, and TAB targeting just makes you cycle all the pets on screen until you find the person you want to attack. And hope to god you don’t accidentally hit TAB again, or you gotta do everything all over again.

An “Ignore Pets” UI option would be great, but I realize that not being able to accidentally target a Mesmer’s illusions would nerf the profession excessively. Still, I believe something should be done about this because the amount of creatures on screen can reach an overwhelming amount.
