Is there proof that this has been added in by default in the setting?

I took a huge hit to FPS in AC straight after the patch. Im normally around 30 during the boss fights with everything going on but this time it dropped down to 15, I couldn’t properly dodge The Howling Kings screech.

The game runs crappy as it is. (i7, 6gb ram, Gtx 680) This game is more demanding than BF3 which is laughable really. I can play that maxxed at no less than 50fps. There is still so much optimisation needed.

Dye Consistency

I can understand it’s a hard thing to do but I’d just like to make a suggestion that I think would make all our lives easier.

DYE CONSISTENCY

I’m fed up of finding nice armour skins and then having that piece stick out like a sore thumb because the same dye looks different on different pieces of armour. It kind of discourages people to go and explore other armour alternatives rather than just stick with one set.

@Gaile.

I had a response 5 days ago. If it was scattered across the 5 days then I could understand. Just because I have been given some copy and paste reply does not automatically mean my problem has been solved. I understand you cannot roll back or give items back via the system however I belive there are plenty other alternatives that I wish to discuss via my ticket instead of being told tough luck, better luck next time. That is a shoddy reply, from a company with such great ambitions I expect alot more.

Are you implying that because I’ve had a response that my claim is automatically less important?

Got hacked, Had many copy and paste replies from different reps when I constantly asked to be in contact with the same person. The claim has been escalated for over 3 days now and i’ve had no response. This is a matter I take very seriously and am a little Insulted at the time taken to even get to this point. So far i’ve had no useful help what so ever.

@Zaken

Maybe a bad example from you because banks do actually do that. Its like the police telling you its your fault for not having a combination lock on your purse if a thief steals it. The fact is that saying sorry tough luck is such a passive unhelpful response which makes me wonder why they dont have a huge sticky saying dont even bother writing a customer support ticket if you got your items stolen because we wont do anything about it. This is the 1st instance in any MMO where this is the case. Back in WoW you could submit a support ticket and the GM would give you your items because the system was in place. GW2 is going for a AAA title genre, therefore they should have to live up to certain standards set by the industry. Right now they fall short, not only with the slow, impersonal ticket system, but with what information they will give and how they can solve it.

Okay, so proving it wasn’t me is just as viable as them proving it wasn’t them. However the IP addresses logged on my Gmail when I went into full detective mode showed that only MY IP has logged onto my e-mail account begging the question that where are my e-mail authentication messages that should have been sent? My account on this site even displayed the IP that accessed my account from HONG KONG. The point im trying to make is we as customers shouldn’t settle for sorry tough luck because of what happened. The response given from A-net devs even implies if the system was in place they could roll back our accounts. Why this feature wasn’t in for release? well it all comes under that saying “When It’s Ready™”.

@Gaile

Does your reply suggest that those who have been hacked and had items stolen may possibly be able to get them back down the road when a sufficient system is in place?

If that is the case does it not make sense to hand out IOU’s regarding peoples stolen currency and items if its possible to view what was stolen or mail logs? I only bring this up because last night I was stricken for around 60 Gold worth of Gold/Items and I don’t take that lightly since the current market of Gems to Gold makes that more than 8500 Gems. Taking into consideration that the BLTC sells 4000 for £43. I have lost, what Anet values as around £90 worth of game currency. Although you say nothing can be done now, there should be AT LEAST a system in place to make a note of what was lost or some sort of ticket that can be claimed when the system is in operation. Instead you are just telling us we are out of luck which is straight up not justified.

Armour set storage

in Black Lion Trading Co

kipz.8701

I haven’t seen anything like this in game but correct me if there is

As an active dungeon pve player I have set a target to get all of the armour sets from the dungeons including afew weapons. Now my problem here lies with not only bank storage space but also bag storage also. With the amount of armour sets in game do you not think its kind of viable to have a sort of pve locker? Where you can store your dungeon sets? or even better armour set crates, which basically has all the slots your hero window has but all consolidated into one little crate so instead of taking up 20 slots (taking into consideration everything being swapped out) in your bank/bag it only takes up one or possibly make it a 2-slot item.

Don’t know about everyone elses opinion but I for one would buy these from the BLTC aslong as they were fairly priced say 150 gems for one or 4 for 500 gems.

Here's how to fix the precursor complaints

As it stands right now, Legendaries = Luck + Money. ( which gives incentive for players to buy gems from Anet then sell them )

Traditionally it should be = Luck + Skill.

The requirement for gold in not only the games economy right now but in crafting and alot more necessary objectives leads the discussion to how Anet are possibly hiding the p2w aspect of the game quite sneakily I might add.

I want to be proven wrong though.

Explore Mode Encounters ( Level 80 Path? )

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: kipz.8701

kipz.8701

Hey fellow Dungeoniers,

I’d like to propose a question to this community regarding explorable dungeons and their difficulty/mechanics. I feel that in most explorable dungeons except afew, the bosses are just an endless dps zerg with no real incentive to “follow the mecahnics” because they are too weak or non existent, OR the mechanics are too easy/long/boring. By this I mean just a simple AOE attack that needs to be dodged coupled with the boss having tons of HP. I’m all for harder stuff that it takes real groups many times to complete a boss, From my time playing WoW I have never cleared EVERY boss in one sitting the 1st time and I don’t see that as saying we sucked i’m trying to say the skill curve is too low on alot of these bosses. I’ll mention afew bosses I do enjoy and a little bit about why and then maybe some that I see as pointless.

First and foremost everyones favorite, Lieutenant Kohler from AC.
I really enjoy this encounter. It’s short, sweet, and has a decent yet effective mechanic that is all about the timing rather than just moving out of the red circle. Granted if this was a higher level dungeon I would have expected maybe more stages but for the level it is designed for it does the trick.

Secondly, Subject Alpha (First Encounter) from COE.
The best thing about this boss is the hecticness of it all. The adds spawning. The earth attacks he throws out, aswell as the AOE’s. Notice how I said 1st encounter. It seems just long enough to not get boring and can be a punishing encounter if you aren’t quick to react to what is going on.

Thirdly Tribune Burntclaw from COF.
The mechanics here are fun. BUT he has way too much hp OR needs another phase to make this encounter viable. Its very fun for the 1st time but can be very boring if you’re not in a DPS intensive group or coming in for a repeat.

I have chose these for example because I have done these recently but again its just a select few. However, there are many boss encounters with mechanics that just feel dumbed down or just a snoozefest.

An exaple for this is the 2nd (I think) boss in SF Path 1 (where she offers the guy a promotion). The boss can just be pulled down the ramp at the other side and beaten on with no regard to mechanics or anything. A reason I feel that this is such a bore is because all of the trash is quite high in HP and takes a while to kill which is similar to the bosses which you can just DPS down with no regard. Because of this they just dont feel like bosses or meaningful at all.

Another example is The Ghost Eater AC.
Are there even any mechanics for this boss? There are adds that seem to just do nothing and can just be ignored since they go down easily enough with alot of the main AOE focused on the boss.

I’d really like people to chip in with afew of their favorites and maybe some other bosses they feel are boring/obsolite/tedious so we can maybe offer this up so devs can see patterns.

The question I would like to ask you is:-

Would you like to see specific paths for Level 80 characters?

I say this because from the amount of XP you gain from doing dungeons, you are already well on your way to 80 or at least, in other terms, very far past the level requirements for just the rare armour set. I have yet to go ARAH but I can already spot inconsistensies with the quality/difficulty/fun of encounters.

My Idea is to have maybe one path for each dungeon that requires you to be 80. It is balanced for fully exotic players but not role specific ( by this i mean a certain spec, just because i feel it contradicts the message of the game ).
This dungeon would have a cooldown meaning you can only do it once per week/two weeks to give equal rotation for all the dungeons meaning they are not rushed through.
The loot would be significantly better such as greens/rares from trash and bosses, with chances of exotics from lower bosses and then from the final boss maybe a 0.1% chance of getting a legendary pre-requisite that is (Account Bound) Meaning there is other ways to get the legendaries other than the MF, granted the difficulty should be seen in reward but compare the drop chance to maybe the Warglaive of Azzinoth or maybe slightly higer for the amount of weapon types there are.

Sorry for the whole wall of text but hopefully we can get some good discussion out of this and the direction of dungeons as a community.

Just did the submarine route, first time in the dungeon for 4 of us out of the 5. Very fun dungeon. The laser bit was easily my favorite bit. I can’t help but think that Subject Alpha and the big dragon guy who charges have way too much HP and it just becomes quite a boring fight. I’ll admit, it was only the 3rd meeting of Subject Alpha which took forever. But the charging boss at one point I was able to just quit doing anything and was just there ressing the npc. Maybe the health needs reducing aswell as the interval of his charge? I don’t mind long fights, just aslong as im not avoiding the exact same mechanics for 20 minutes.

Is it working as intended now? Are people still getting jipped? Are we all fed up with it?

All of those questions are probably a yes now, however, are we going to ever get some sort of COMMUNITY SUPPORT? Instead of being kept in the dark about this whole system I for one would like some openness and information about HOW IT IS INTENDED TO WORK. It’s one thing to slap restrictions on innocent players but its unprofessional and causes players to feel disconnected from what is the true reason for it.

I have my own speculations of why this has been put in place which involves the gem shop and the sales of said gems. Less supply, More demand, Higher prices, People buy gold.

I am very taken back from this dictatorship of how we SHOULD be playing the game. At the very least be open with the dungeon community, which is fragile as it is, and tell us how, when, why this system kicks in so we can do our best to not waste our time playing through a dungeon, because thats what you are forcing us to do. Waste our time. I would rather know when this system kicks in so I can AVOID only getting half of the rewards I should. How it kicks in, the idea of a debuff I think is appropriate here. Quit wasting our time, and why it kicks in. Stop beating around the bush with gold farmers etc etc because I don’t buy it. What company would seriously be foolish enough to punish the entire population of its game just because of the actions of probably less than 1% of it. We shouldn’t have to pay reward tax just so you can curb gold farming and make people buy gems instead.

Still very unhappy with this system, all I want to do is play the game

Well hold on here.

Nobody actually knows the amount of DR the system currently puts on the players. There is a bug at the moment which is screwing things up, so before you all start going in to a rant, lets just wait for the bug fix first?

Or you know, Instead of saying you will have “deminished rewards when you do too many dungeons” they could just let the community know what their plans are instead of leaving us in the dark.

The lengths you content designers are going to is absolutely rediculous to say the least, Why not hit this problem at its source instead of slapping huge inconvenience bandages over everything? You realise that this whole crusade against dungeon runners you’re on is shattering an already fragile PvE Dungeon community? I really don’t care if people run dungeons in 5 minutes or in 5 hours. If they have the skill to do that then why should they be slapped in the face? It is due to your testing negligence that exploits have happened. Granted the exploiters should have their items removed, but why do we all have to suffer? It’s like you don’t care about content but only about people making in game money which in turn means less gem store sales for you.

Why are we being punished?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: kipz.8701

kipz.8701

Okay, so everyone who has been doing dungeons knew of the issues before the implementation of this rediculous deminishing rewards monstrosity. But how now, with all the bugs in dungeons, bugs in the system, the huge slaps to peoples faces because you guys wont hold your hands up and say there are huge problems with how dungeons have been designed. How do you even expect people to run them now? You are expecting people to run different paths correct? Then why design certain paths around certain builds and certain classes? Isn’t that the opposite of what you preached to us before release? It’s also very apparent that all paths are completely out of sync in regards to skill level. One path is easy where as the other two are seen as bugged or rediculously hard. So your idea to this is to force people to run the hard/bugged paths because people are doing what is instinctive and doing the easy path and I cannot blame them. Not only do I belive that most bosses are a snoozefest and quite alot of the time the trash are more of a challenge than the bosses but the rewards in general are dire. If you expect people to run all of the dungeons then why am I getting items 30 levels below me, not only one but enough to fill my bags. Two reasons people are running dungeons are for tokens, and to try make money. Not fun, not because hey it doesn’t matter who comes along (because it does). It’s just a huge pile of problem after problem guys. I’ve come from guild wars, then to WoW and now back to you guys. I prefer the lore to the guild wars universe more than WoW but I think I speak for 99% of the community that has played WoW. They have dungeons DOWN. Not the rewards really because thats not the main issue, but the encounters, and everything else are consistent. There are huge problems with the main designs to the dungeons which is why you are trying to implement these punishments for playing the game you have designed but obviously hardly tested.

TL:DR Dungeons are inconsistent and broken beyond belief so why punish people who are doing the content that is the least broken? Also why let the small majority who do exploit it ruin it for the rest of us. Just patch the exploit…

Shield #4 Skill Opinion

I’d like to hear peoples opinion on this. At the same time hoping it’s from people who use a shield in their main setup.

Although the #4 skill is useful theory wise, it’s a pain the the butt to line up and gain effectiveness from it since all of the combat is so hectic and involves alot of running around.

An easy solution would be to instead of a wave infront of you make it a circle around you, I fell the damage it does it pretty much minimal and I only use it for the protection buff anyway. It makes the shield much more viable in Dungeons.

Zealots Flame/Inner Fire

kipz.8701

Is it a bug or is specifically designed that when you activate Zealots Flame “Set yourself alight, Periodically burning up to 3 foes” doesn’t activate the trait Inner Fire “When you are set of fire, You gain Fury” ?

Seems like a huge flaw in my opinion. I don’t really see much use for a trait that only activates on the “chance” that an enemy sets you on fire and not when you trigger it by yourself.

I’d like to hear something officially on this since I would like zealots flame to trigger it as it is somewhat important to my build.

So, Can a dev maybe explain the reason for having such an immersion breaking system to where the entire world seems empty and you only get to see other players witin a 10ft radius of your character?

As I recall, it was nothing like this in the beta. Is it due to your hardware not being able to cope?

I’m just really dissapointed as it is definately a step backwards from the beta. Whats the point of having an open world if you cant see anyone?
