DB was the official Chinese server, its a JQ thing, they just enjoy watching their score go up while the Asians PVDoor them to victory.

Every single server and their grandma has their own WTB coverage threads, so don’t BS here. The thread from which you only selectively bothered to post the initial post has all the facts and how TC feels about it. The guilds in question were approached, and facts about TC were put on the table. Its upto them to make the decision. I don’t see how is it stripping a server? I don’t see how an entire server of TC respecting guilds from DB that stayed and looking forward to have them back in T2 to face them if they make it to T2, is “stripping a server”?

Tried and failed to strip Dragonbrand while in our tier but that’s okay because you “respect” those guilds still. Meh, I don’t blame you guys for trying though. Our Sea presence is something you don’t see until you hit T1.

As for Dragonbrand coming into T2 and the reasons why TC wants us here.. hmm.. I wonder.

FA – approached DB guilds in a straight forward manner asking for transfers while not in our tier.

TC- tried to manipulate DB guilds into moving while in our tier.

Neither was appreciated.

I approached EA, KREW and asked my buddy who is fluent in Mandarin to have a talk with NNK. Don’t know how that is all the guilds on DB. Everyone in their right mind would have approached NNK (including FA). We had one conversation with EA on mumble, we barely talked to KREW (could only get in touch with Evalana from the official forums) and were not aware that she was not an officer/guild leader.

When we were in T3 for a week we worked on training and coverage. We were aware going back up to T2 Kaineng and both FA would have superior coverage to us (true if not for the WXP patch) so we approached a few DB guilds, particularly NNK to be able to compete with Kaineng and FA. We knew we were going back to T2 (our natural tier) and so didn’t believe that ‘talking’ to DB guilds would be considered cross-tier recruitment.

I also helped recruit KH from CD before paid transfers
I helped ZN make their decision to come to TC
I helped AWE, NAGA & ESF make the choice to come over to TC.
I posted on FIST’s forums when they were still on IoJ (before moving to FA).

FA can Q.Q about our recruitment all they want. It just means we invest time and resources into making our server better which FA probably feels they are too lazy to do. I know that IRSyko is like the only person who is constantly trying to improve FA; over here its a team effort. Please do not try to compare FA’s coverage gaps back in T3 with TC’s coverage gaps for ages in T2, everyone knows coverage gaps are exploited way more fiercely in T2 than in T3 and TC is the longest standing server in T2 (constantly coming last ) in the current match-up.

You can blame me all you want for ruining the ‘competitiveness’ of this tier. I am selfish and my primary interests are always going to be for TC so I ask myself the questions that are needed to be asked. Do our SEA and Oceanics enjoy playing constantly outmanned against FA’s oceanics and KA’s SEA? The answer was no and so I helped recruit them friends to play with. Does that ruin the competitiveness of this tier? Looking at the overall score yeah -> but competitiveness has to be measured in each timezone and with WM playing again, NA & SEA are both competitive timezones which is better than it was before; previously 1/4 timezones was truly competitive and now its almost 2/4. If KA and FA up their recruitment efforts maybe we can make other timezones competitive as well. (BTW I play SEA)

If you guys have any other claims/accusations to make or any queries/concerns related to my personal recruitment efforts you can go ahead and use my name, I don’t mind it at all; you don’t have to tiptoe around it.

So back to my questions. Who posted on RE’s forums? Who approached you recently FIST?

I don’t blame you for recruiting what I don’t agree with is your lack of regard for what these guilds transferring would cause. The size of those three WvW guilds you attempted to recruit were the largest on DB. If you had succeeded it would have effectively sent DB down several tiers probably causing more to leave. This disregard is what I think people do not approve of.

Btw no one paid me gold to come in here though I wouldn’t mind some.

Literally, every WvW guild on DB was approached to transfer to TC after this thread was shown to us by a friend on TC. Obviously, DB is loyal to our server and will not transfer regardless of what we are offered. I think I will go back to my own thread though enjoy the impression you have made of your server TC.

Unless FA drops off after tomorrow, we’ll be stuck in T2 a few more weeks at least, depending on where SoS lands. While we’re here we should make the best of it, particularly regarding Dragonbrand. If we could build the kind of inter-server rapport with them as we did with BG and KN, who knows what might be possible, re combining forces.

There are a couple problems to avoid here, though. FA tried directly recruiting DB guilds, which was not surprisingly unappreciated and backfired. So TC can’t engage in any direct recruiting. Additionally, apparently DB lost a big WvW guild a while ago which hurt their WvW scene, but the remaining guilds are proud of being loyal survivors and sticking with their server. They’re as attached to DB as we are to TC, so that has to be acknowledged and respected.

And yet tantalizingly, timeslot-wise the two servers fit together like a couple of perfectly matched jigsaw pieces – TC has strong NA, moderate EU, and weak Oceanic. DB is the inverse. Linking up would solve that one big problem both sides have, of losing everything over night.

Given all that, there may be nothing we can directly do right now to effect such an outcome, but there are things we can actively do the next few weeks to lay the groundwork and make such a thing at least more conceivable.

I think our best bet right now is to focus on showing DB a really good time in WvW. A few ideas:

1. We need to give their main Oceanic force something more than PvDoor, which they’ve been doing who knows how many weeks and have got to be getting tired of it by now. Remember how awesome it was to go up against HB and other top tier guilds and learn from them, as well as the siege strategy Theon & co. derived from the entirely different nature of T2 keep defense. DB’s guilds have yet to experience that, but they’re clearly ready for it. Lets find a way to bring it.

One way to do that is, on weekends, take as many volunteers as we can muster to go to sleep early, and wake up and play DB’s ~3am-7am primetime. Including skipping reset night. This would probably be easier if the main guilds organized such a thing with their members, but if any militia can be recruited too then so much the better. The goal isn’t to completely abandon our primetime, but to reallocate 30%-45% of our weekend primetime forces to Oceanic primetime. That’s only 2 nights a week, maybe 3 if the college contingent can hack it on Thursdays as well, but still better than nothing and gives them a taste of what they could have every day if we linked up and made it to T2.

2. Arrange awesome GvG’s down below south camp, as well as the usual Fight Clubs, etc. Maybe we’ll have to stay up late or get up early, or maybe they will, but should be able to work this out.

3. If all goes well and we reach a level of strong rapport and comfort with them, consider sharing Theon’s excellent siege strategy writeup, unless they already seem to know most of it. They seem well organized and know what they’re doing, just haven’t had the opportunity to learn from T1 competition yet. Theon’s guide is a result of exactly that. Makes them better, makes our matchups more fun, and makes it clear TC War Council is serious about WvW (a perception we seem to be having problems with lately).

4. Finally, prepare the War Chest not just for bringing over a few select Oceanic guilds, but any WvW regulars on DB that wants to come. The reason being that any transfer from DB to TC will leave hard feelings among the remainders, unless we can also convince and help fund those remainders to transfer as well.

Even if they’re NA primetime players they’d be worth getting, simply b/c near the end of our time in T2 we consistently had no queues on enemy borderlands even during our primetime. Likely burnout from being steamrolled for weeks, but it also cost us our spot in T2 and a possible 2nd place finish during the last week.

Through process of elimination all signs would point to SoR.

1. Its not BG because the poster talking about the gold gossip eliminated them basically directing us to ‘another server’.

2. I highly doubt JQ would pay more gold for more SEA guilds? They have the most insane SEA in NA by a long shot anyway, I do not think their SEA guilds would want to deal with even more queue times than they already have.

This leaves us with SoR who are coming close to competing with JQ and all they need is more SEA/European. Also they have recently upped their recruitment and managed to get AFS and Tsym so they are probably going all out.

When I was on Dragonbrand – We were up against TC in T3. My guild leader at the time expressed interest in FA on the FA forums. I got a personal message from someone on TC inviting me to Mumble, where they pitched TC. My mind was already made up on going to FA, whether my guild went or not… I have a lot of friends from GW1, and IoJ here… My GL had also told me that he wasn’t interested, so I basically went to hear what they had to say and kind of let it go. So, saying that TC is against recruiting from the matchup is a bit false, as I also heard that they were planning on subtly approaching others on Dragonbrand as well… But I don’t know how true or false that is. Just personal experience.

Well like I said, I am not saying its false. But since no one knows names I will put it out there here. I do not approve of openly recruiting from the server of which you are currently playing against. So if the person you did do that reads this then yea… Do not even know if it will change anything but that is how I feel. I don’t like it. Going to other tiers I am far more open to. Right now though with our recent transfers for our Off hours, I do not think there is really anything else needed.

Fact is both TC and FA tried to recruit from DB. The difference is FA approached only a few guilds including mine which was well before we even entered there tier. TC tried the underhanded way which seemed like they wanted to completely gut our server of anything and everything they could get just to make themselves better. Anyone saying that TC is not actively recruiting is full of it in my opinion just look at the influx of guilds you got. No server gets that many guilds by sitting around doing nothing about recruiting. TC leaves a bad taste in my mouth sure on the outside they seem all happy and friendly but really TC just wants to win at any cost. How much gold you got sitting in the war chest to buy your victory?

The video posted was called “NNK PvDoor” and was a sped-up video of them attacking nothing but gates for 6 minutes. It didn’t answer the “why,” it only showed us what was already questioned.

And Eva’s answer doesn’t really count since she left the server because she couldn’t find other people to play with when she was online. Surely if she played with these folks, she’d have a lot of friends.

edit: so I guess we’re left with the NA chest-thumper answer about why their friends stick around. One out of four is not great.

NNK and TFV stay because they have developed a bond and trust with the existing NA guilds and players on this server. They know who they are getting their points for when they fight during their time. We have fought together for a long time, we aren’t just strangers on the same server. In fact, alot of my guild are members of NNK just like EA has some TFV members. If they leave they would know no one on these new servers like moving to a new country. They stay because this is their home. They have been here for so long no where else would be the same. Can you understand that?

I’m pretty sure they have been offered and bribed everything under the sun but still have not moved off. They demonstrate unwavering loyalty to Dragonbrand which is more than can be said for alot of guilds and people on other servers. This is what makes Dragonbrand an amazing server.

Mag BL skill lag. Not fun. Haven’t seen that much skill lag, not even a three way in SM is that bad.

P.S. I am very disappointed on the sportsmanship side. I rolled around in deer form on Yaks BL with a few friends and found alot of hostile Maguma and Benders. To the ones that didn’t kill me and hung out with us thanks for the entertainment. Loved sitting in Yak’s Garrison while some Maguma capped it cept most weren’t that friendly only a couple.

That, and the ‘raid times’ were far too late in the evening for me… 9pm on a weeknight? Nah. Wait til you get bumped up, or we get bumped down (probably not for quite a while)… and see how many get beaten back to Dungeons…

I went somewhere that I know more people, and even when we are losing we are still out playing. I am simply showing respect to the several folks on Maguuma that have the same fighting (even when they’re losing) spirit as FA. They may not be the ‘greatest’ – but – They have some kickarse people over there in my opinion.

If anyone from maguuma knows otherwise correct me if I’m wrong, the deliberately losing was a joke, we knew we was going down and we made humour out of a bad situation, at the time there were merely too many teams of a skill set of tier 2-3, it pushed us down (twice) as a result of this. And even in the jokes people didn’t want to go to tier 4 to PvD, you obviously just pulled that out of thin air, what’s with past and present [EA] members being so tense today? I am simply showing respect to the several folks on Maguuma that have the same fighting (even when they’re losing) spirit as FA. They may not be the ‘greatest’ – but – They have some kickarse people over there in my opinion.

No, we aren’t. On reset we could not even field enough NA to cover three maps let alone four. Our NA prime time is lacking quit a bit with fighting two NA prime time servers like Maguma and Yaks Bend. We cannot combat the massive zergs these two servers put up leaving us severly crippled during this time. We need more NA to put up a better fight during this time.

I know right! I mean most servers are like we need oceanics we need SEA! Why not go to a server that already has those and make a difference in an NA time slot!

Exactly right. Why join a server you have to sit in que for hours during NA prime time. Dragonbrand queues on reset night and after that there are rarely any queues. We are at the top of tier 3!

That said, I DON’T think they need more people. They are solid in T3, leading slightly with their SEA population. Now that T1 and 2 are more balanced if DB gained much more they would become transition T2/3 which would lead to less balanced matches, particularly for themselves. With SoS finally falling to T4 next week, T1-3 will in a very balanced state for the first time.

Thanks for seeing DB in a positive light : ) I have always enjoyed matches involving mag. I do, however; agree with lani additional NA numbers would help out a ton.

So if any guilds are considering a transfer please look to DB first. we would love to have you!

Additional NA player would allow us to compete during prime time I do not think it would push us up another tier even if more than one guild joined us.

We do need more NA people to help us out. During NA prime time we are outnumbered but anytime off this time we are the strongest server. Some more people during NA prime time would help us defend putting up a stronger fight to keep our upgrades. Consider us if you are looking for a fight and considering transfering. You do not need to log off knowing that everything you fought for will be lost in the night while you sleep.

Either way its a personal decision to do what we do when we wipe the other team – but in either case I am respectful and I know 90% of all commanders are.

There are no white haired elementalist commanders in NNK. I am a blonde elementalist commander but I do not wear the NNK tag when I command. I wear EA, and I have never nor will I ever laugh on a dead body. I have not commanded since reset night anyways.

I’ve never seen anyone in NNK let alone a commander laugh on a dead body or do any emotes out of disrespect.

Tsym may only be running 30+ (which I doubt I’d go with 40-50 adding in the pugs would be 60+) like they said but the amount of pugs following them probably doubles that. I understand why they are leaving they want massive zerg blob against the same. DB does not do that for the most part and this is why you aren’t meeting any challenge against us. If you split your zergs into two with the pugs following you. You might find more competition.

DB has the biggest zergs I have ever seen in any tier, I thought PRX &SF 60 mans were bad but NNK is madness, “NNK zerg incomming”, “How many?” “Over 9000” can be heard on TS, if I’m flipping camps in my 5man on an empty map, NNK dont send 5, they dont send 10 to make sure, they send a 50 man zerg to get the supply camp back and thats just a portion of the main force, my mind boggles at how big that guild is.

Elementalists should not be able to kill all the seige inside the tower like this.

I don’t know if it broke WvW or not but the size of the zergs running around T3 at the moment is shocking. DB is qued on all four maps. We can’t even get our whole guild on one map.

Whoa… You just waved a chocolate bar in front of twenty fat kids. We all want you. The reality is your going to have two choices out of any of these servers. Play PvD or face large numbers and spend a lot of time defending a small area. The problem is that Asian and sea guilds tend to stay together and attract others alike so few servers get all the chocolate bars. For my server, Dragonbrand, we are lucky to have Guilds like NNK and TFV whose loyalty never wavers. They fight hard for us and In turn us NA try to hold on to whatever we can for them. You will get nothing but respect from DB’s players but like I said the tier we are currently in our server’s sea outnumbers the others. If and when we move up to tier 2 there will be a lot more action for you. This would be pending our NA forces increasing though our server is more humble than most not actively recruiting. We tend to wait and let guilds choose us rather than shout out for everyone to join us. Good luck in whatever new home you choose.

Really been enjoying these fights for the past few days. Yaks are bringing the heat and iam loving our fights with each other, they are hard and full of great tactics from both sides. Last night was just another great example of the determination of both Yaks and DB players. Keep up the great work!

Don’t think anyone on our server cares much about that fine point. You are the server that sent us into a downward spiral for a long time. Whether of not the guilds and people are still the same doesn’t seem to matter. Oh, and it might have a little bit just a tad bit to do with strategy……

NNK is spawn camping SOS. I’m guessing it’s because NNK has been here from the start and SOS is where all the NA guilds went when we had a mass exodus. So… that might be why they are taking a little bit of joy spawn camping you.
