This guy, as if its an accomplishment for you to stomp two servers with far less coverage than you, DB was struggling in T2 and JQ has sufficiently destacked/faded in coverage enough to a beefed up T2/TC level coverage.
I don’t think anyone in JQ really cares much for T1 and the gimmicky gameplay it brings. It is just fun to watch BG struggle when your players and WvW guilds decide not to show up, or be incapable, if its not an easy win.

we had a rematch in which we beat SF and they refused to gvg afterwards again.
I think the main reason being is that SF preferably plays to WvW instead of GvG.Did you beat them 3-0?
From what I remember the GvG was interrupted by a large amount of FEAR from SoR, and a big kitten storm occurred on the forums afterward. I don’t think they went further than 1 round. A rematch between the two would be fun to watch though.

I don’t think people remember several months ago when Free Transfers were still around and people and guilds would hop around servers weekly on EU and NA looking for better fights, just because they could.
Can’t blame anyone for wanting to come to this matchup, the fights thus far have been phenomenal. I’m sure its a lot better than facing off against two demoralized T1 servers for another tedious week. Still haven’t encountered a lot of DB myself but theres hordes of Blackgate to fight on every map, its been enjoyable.
If random mismatches are the future of WvW, touring might just become a trend once again. Seems to me stacking servers has become an obsolete meta.

I was thinking the same thing myself today…people can go on about how great their server community is all day.. but when it comes down to WvW guilds, enjoying the game with your guild > server loyalty, pretty much every single time without fail
If ANet is going to keep throwing these bizzarre matchups at 21/24 of the NA servers (I don’t know enough about the EU side to know what’s going on there) they should open up free transfers to lower populated servers or discount the gem price to “Highly” populated servers and let people shop around and actually enjoy the game.
I humbly disagree on the generalization that was made. Myself and many others on JQ are fiercely loyal to the realm. Regardless of what the randomization brings i know many of us will stay put in JQ and ride it out.
Idk man, I was on HoD, I was on SBI, when a server is faced with big problems.. the majority of hardcore guilds will look at what is best for the long term growth and enjoyment of their guild over everything else.
I wasn’t really referring to any JQ players, because things are a lot different for us ATM than they have been for past T1 servers and guilds. Also there is really no reason for any of the WvW guilds on JQ to transfer off, and quite honestly nowhere to go thats worth going too. JQ is in great spot still in terms of our opponents and the cooperation among guilds on the server.

Arrow carts ruined WvW IMO. Game was a lot more fun without this nonsense.
Don’t need any of this.. just bigger maps, space out the objectives and people will be forced to be multiple places at the same time or risk losing other objectives. That plus restore AC’s to what they were before.

Win or lose, I’ve found guilds that look to improve their game and seek new types of challenges are those that are most interested in GvG.
They are not mutually exclusive. Some of the best WvWers are the guilds that also do GvG.
Rarely do you find a guild that is good in GvG that sucks in WvW, but you find a lot of guilds that claim to be good in WvW but are absolutely horrible when it comes to even grounds fighting and are actually afraid of it(no clue why).
Everyone can say they’ve wiped this zerg or fought outnumbered that, but if you have the confidence in your performance you shouldn’t be afraid of GvG. If anything, look to it as another challenge.
For the guy that said egos and raging may ruin his guild , you’re guild isn’t that strong to begin with then if a simple thing as a GvG threatens its integrity or the egos of your playerbase. Trying and losing in GvG is just as important, if not more important, than winning in GvG.
Regardless, do what is fun for you but you shouldn’t knock others interest in GvG.
What I think Jedbacca was referring to was that just as some guilds prefer GvG, and others do not, individuals within a guild may have an interest in a more hardcore playstyle, while others are more casual.
It sounded to me that he was saying he would rather keep the two groups seperate and thus limit any GvG encounters to sPvP and limit it to 5v5’s or 10v10s

I’m still wondering how BG got outcoveraged by a server that was apparently on its deathbed imploding at 50 PPT on reset a week ago. Pretty sure we lost some random EB guilds last week along with the rest of the bandwagon too. Anyhow, GG, congrats to SoR on the win.

A lot of JQ NA guilds transferred off because they were getting sick of being farmed nightly. It’s difficult to find any BG or JQ guild that hasn’t been conditioned to the point that they turn and run as soon as they see 15 TW tags.

Transferring from EU servers to T1 NA to talk tough, farm PuGs, get your daily PvD in, and ask for GvGs. Never heard that one before…
Should really get to know your server a bit more before you talk about 80 man blobs and GvG’s (or interfering with them).
On an unrelated note you IRON guys are pretty fun to fight, regardless of the numbers on the field.

No guild will seriously consider moving to JQ and risk splitting their guild up for who knows how long, possibly even never being able to fully transfer.
Mass log offs wont make a dent in the server status.
Pretty sure PRX, SF, and lots of other guilds that came to JQ when free transfers were ending made it in when the server was at “Full” for over a week before ANet increased the cap.

Good fights indeed, the clashes near SE tower and the middle island were fun, SF had about 10-15 and Fire around the same or less. Lowlands encounter was lopsided against you Merc guys + WM but still found the fights enjoyable! Think I remember seeing you a few times myself
Can’t wait until they put some real GvG into this game, as the whole respawn charge issue really got on my nerves last night – as a lot of our fights I would say that we were pretty evenly matched (i.e. our condi-survival march vs the SF condi bomb) however a lot of the fights were decided by the fact that the spawn was right there.

That spawn camp fight was pretty fantastic, one of the better ones we’ve had awhile.
Yeah our guys got hit with like 12 wells and I got 25 stacks of bleed in 3 secs in the start of that fight and I made a presumption lol

Well that is quite disappointing. I was ok with many of the ‘nerfs’ to my class in regards to decreasing power level in some cases, but I wasn’t ok with ruining the flow of the game play for me. That and some bugs/poor design that are applying things when they shouldn’t and are most likely causing their changes to have the opposite of intended effects.
So basically these changes are forcing people to babysit objectives, micro manage siege, and basically do un-fun time wasting things instead of fighting players. Sounds like a pretty bad patch and will negatively impact our matchup.
Everyone complains about zerg balls and ANET is making zergs split up, it seems. So…nay still? I truly am glad I don’t work for anet. They simply can’t win, no matter how carefully they think things through.
Nah, it’s been keeping the zerg together more than ever. You can zerg through a tower and flip it before anyone can show up to defend it. Unless, of course, you’ve managed to convince some poor sods to sit there all day babysitting the tower instead of going out and earning wxp and the like.
Some people actually enjoy scouting it may sound shocking to you but if you ask people will scout and they won’t complain some enjoy it as they can multi task etc. Just because you don’t want to scout doesn’t mean its not a viable change so please stop complaining about it this especially after you made a thread about this specific change.
I enjoyed scouting. For example on home borderlands I’d be all over the place, and if swords popped up I’d rush over and call in reinforcements if necessary. You can’t do that anymore. Instead of scouting you need to park somewhere and wait. You become a sentry instead of a scout. Scouting (for me) was being mobile and responsive. Sentry duty now is static. If your tower doesn’t get attacked, hey, fun night keeping those ACs up, right? Shoot a rabbit maybe…
Must not scout right cause if your sitting in a tower scouting you are delaying any possible chance of reacting lol. If you get golem rushed you can’t respond soon as they hit your gate or they will be either in lord (of tower) or on inner of a keep by the time you can possible react.
You apparently need to get caught up on current events. Before they added the 30 second delay to "x"s coming up it was safer to scout in a mobile fashion, and if the “X” appeared somewhere I could react to that quickly and still (likely) be in time to marshall a response as needed. Now, with the “X” not showing for 30 seconds, if they show at a tower someone isn’t sitting in odds are it’s already too late. That’s the point. You need someone on any entrance to a structure now in order to defend it properly where before you had the liberty of being mobile and responsive.
5 Golems with a 30second reaction time the gate is either almost down or is gone by the time you relay. Thus mobile scouting can’t be the only means of protecting a tower or keep.
Now, no, you’re right… it’s not. However “back in the day” (2 days ago) it was much more effective. The “5 golem rush” was the exception, not the norm, so if an “X” appeared on Crag more often than not I could get there, see what’s happening (if anything) and let people know. If Crag is fortified and they have a few rams on the gate we’ll have time to react. Now there’s a good chance that the gate is mostly down, drastically reducing or eliminating response time. In order to muster a good defense now we need to keep people planted in structures/camps we want to defend. Responding to the “X” now is much more likely too late than it was.
5 sup rams you have the gate below 50% by the time scout gets there and you can easily stop the scout from getting in. It really doesn’t matter what you hit the tower with 30 seconds of anything someone really wants the keep/tower response will be too late honestly.
This^, absolutely. I like the changes to be honest, requires more map coordination and communication. More people over more objectives if you want or care about having a decent response time.
For servers that do not care to have a fast reaction time via scouts, towers will become like camps for them.. they will lose them more often and retake them when they can.
They countered this by making waypoints go contested only after 30 seconds and buffing some cheap defensive siege options, arrow carts.
Also they fixed the lifesteal gimmick on supervisors, so havoc squads can be productive again without the zerg undoing their contributions a minute before tick.
