They really need to fix this… i couldn’t use any skill and when i say any is not even autoattack… only when people start to die “1” starts to fire at will since is the only skill you can use. Then when more prople start dieing you can start using the rest of your skills…but dude, you couldn’t nearly make a roll o enter a garrison through the msgical door… what a kittening mess and lag festival…

I hate this kitten!

1.) Build 5-10 golems
2.) Attack the north-west tower with 20 guys with 3-4 rams
3.) Keep on contesting Garisson if it got a waypoint
4.) Start attacking hills with the golems once the 20 guys attack the tower

Should be quite possible!

hmmmm that was riverside defendin and that was the last keep they had. Not possible.

In that siege we tried to put a treb below the stone brigde, near to the “supply portal” to kill the left wall of the northern gate. They counter trebed AND counter arrowed. Insane.

We used 2 trebs and a 2 catas in the middle hill, they also countertrebbed. We tried to counterarrowcart, our arrow cart lasted exactly 5 seconds.

We didn’t try to take the vista treb, since it was stupid, they would build another for sure as they already did to counter us.

So what’s the point when you can’t hold 2 supply camps, both entrances and defendend a trebuchet at the same time…

And that without taking into consideration there’s a third server involved that is attacking the the keep (bay) you own… so you must have people defending also. And they’re attacking with a treb from a safe spot…

I think in ky opinion that the attacker that starts right hand side has a huge advantage if he takes hills and a huge disadvantage if hills is taken, since they treb down lake tower.

60-70? dude we were more thsn you but not that much… running with 40 guys aprox andthe golem rush was the only way. By the way, you didn’t kill us in any camp… at least when I was playing… since all the time i was playing was agains trebs and arrowcarts… and that’s for an hour and a half sittin in hills building countertrebs and waiting 5 mins to take 100 supplies from a camp… that’s all you did while i was playing.

They were no more than 15 and we were like 40-50. I’m serious with this post. If they counter treb me everywhere, there’s othing i can do… catas rams and golems are useless nowadays…

Hi guys, from BB we’re really sorry for you. Hope you enjoy taking hills (or any other keep in general) from RS.

We just witnessed 5 superior trebs and more than 20 arrow carts just to defend the outter walls/gates.

Lol we managed to get through the southern door with golems (no golems survived) with a little distraction in the north…

And we ended punching the door to open it… OMG!!!!!

More than 20 superior arrow carts, 4-5 superior trebs, and that’s to defend the outter… i don’t wanna know ehat they could do in the inner.

Kill the treb at the vista and siege down the north wall from NE camp. If they build another treb just kill it again.

The one in the camp can reach the treb at the vista. Also, a ballista on the hill in between hills and NE camp should be able to hit the vista treb as well.

We will try a golem rush that we know will surely fail, but we need to test those new arrow carts xD after that we’ll try to kill and siege-camp the vista sporlt so they can’t build another treb to counter treb. Anyways if they build one in the mortar spot they could kill ours in the camp… this is too stupid countertrebing.

once you manage to get pass outer gate, have fun passing that bridge and charge into the lord room.

Lol, that’s not a problem for sure, more trebs will be built to play basketball at the lords room

I never thought i had to ask this but… any idea on how to siege hills?

This is the situation: they have 4-5 arrow carts in the north gate, another 4-5 in the southern gate, they have a treb in the vista, another in the bridge, another in fron of the middle inner door, they can build another treb if needed cause they have supplys (not the keep the keep is 0 but we can’t starve them at all)

Do i leave this as an impossible keep or does anyone have any clue on to siege this?

Please, take into consideration that i tried all the traditional (and very strange) spots for a treb.

PS: This is what Anet did, making a keep impossible to siege…

Dude I’ve been playing since day 1 in WvW witnessed all kind of sieges, niinja attempts, distraction tactics, supply cut, NEARLY EVERYTHING YOU COULD IMAGINE.

And a kittening well defended keep with the old arrow carts was a kittening hell to take it.

A major problem with the current team is for sight and the for seeable future. You get thanks from me for actually doing something, the bulk of the patches are partially welcomed.

But you really REALLY need to listen to the community and need someone on that team who plays as many hours as some of the people who play. As well as acknowledge the reasons why people bought the game, and why they would continue playing…especially WvW.

Buffing siege was never an answer to any problem. There is a metric tonne of ideas on the forums for WvW, and by god, some of them would not take long to introduce. I say this from a coding point of view, as well as a player.

But thanks for trying. But you fell really REALLY REALLY REALLY far short on both this patch, and the patch in February that we all hoped was going to bring back all those lost friends we have that gave up because Anet was and is doing a mediocre job.

To be fair, the arrow cart buff was a response to the community’s anguish against zergs. To be more fair, I think this has reduced zerging substantially.

By the way, contrary to popular belief, a large group is not necessarily a zerg. From what people have posted about OP arrow carts, look like they’re working… just as intended. Only zergs still try to build rams under heavy fire from arrow carts.

I haven’t seen any changes to zerging. I just never going to touch a gate anymore if a scout is inside already. And i need a kittening trebuchet to destroy those arrow carts inside since i can’t reach them before i get bursted down to death.

Reaaly i think it is ridicoulous to need a trebuchet to destroy sieges inside…

And i don’t wanna know what happens whith the 30 sec free respawn… since i haven’t played against such a keep yet, but as far as i’ve been tol in those 30 secs kamikazes are all over the place, raising the lord, respawning every second and dieing every 2 seconds during 30 seconds…

How is it possible to kill the keep lord in less than 30 seconds of attacking the keep?

The change only effects the first 30 seconds from when you attack the door or wall.

The lord resses with half hp or so… and after 3 mins countdown you have another 30 seconds where you can use the waypoint… it does affect "every"first 30 seconds not “the” first 30 seconds.

Today I’ve seen a siege at bay in ps bl, more than 30 arrow carts (both sides included) spent in less than an hou… that’s 1 per 2 minutes… HOLY kitten!!!!

I remember they removed orbs cause it benefited the winning team. With arrow carts combined with waypoints, now they benefit the fastest defended and upgraded keep (which is a signal of who is winning)

DUDE IF THEY LACK SKILL DON’T GIVE EM SUCH STRONG WEAPONS!

Give us at least a reason to siege a keep, starve it, and spend hours to capture it or on the other side give us a reason to leave a scout 24/7…

With this new arrow carts, unstoppable trebs (except what i’ve just read about mesmers) and 30 secs for everyone to get in a waypointed keep, give us a reason to spend hours for both defenders and attackers, around a keep…

I don’t think you caught what I meant. I don’t mean where the catapult is placed. I meant what the catapult is meant to attack.

Even if there were certain exceptions there are many other openings where catapults can now be viably used.

And i’m telling you that it’s the wall what they attack.

On top of that the range increase negates the good cata spots also. Such a well thought out addition to WvW.

Like I said before, are the “good” catapult spots relative to the gate or the walls? Arrow cart max range is 2500. Catapult has 4000 range.

If the “good” catapult spots are relative to the gate, then your point is moot.

ACs now hit Cata’s on the south ruins in borderlands, hit cata spots inside garrison, hit cata’s on the west side of the north east tower on borderlands, hit cata’s on the siege spot of the north west tower also, these were spots created specifically for cata’s which are now effectively useless due to the range increase.

Yep, totslly fail this patch. Which will be next increase range of catas to fix this?

That’s not due to arrow carts, that’s because of the 30 secs delay in contesting notice. It takes time for and empty structure to send a scout and scout the area, then call for help and finally the help must come in time…

So you’re saying there’s never enough time for a defending group to come in, build arrow carts, and stop the attack?

Also, it’s better if people stop stacking at the door.

By the time people realices it is contested and arrives… no. Attackers stop them from going in. Or you think that zergs will move around every contested point… they first send sscouts, the the scout arrives, then the zerg/help arrives. That takes a lot of time.

There are more siege options than Trebs as well.

1 min 30 is the average time that takes for someone experiencied to react to a call for help and for attackers to take it. In most cases that call is done simply with white swords. Add 30 more secs to that formula and you have increased the reaction time of defenders by 30 seconds…

Not entirely. The 30 second delay in the notification that an objective is under attack paves some space for the use of rams. You’d probably bash down the gate before a sufficient defense is raised.

You don’t use rams when defenders are already guarding a gate since it’d get destroyed seconds after it’s up. Even before the patch you don’t do this.

Well, then the other part of the formula: if a point is not contested and in 30 secs can be taken… you need scouts to defend it and those scouts are going to have an arrow cart available… else you’re saying to the enemy: hey take this tower for free!!!

AC has more dmg than longbows… far more damage… and rams also get hit… before i could man a ram with 3-4 arrow carts hitting me and the ram while my teammates healed. Now i can’t hold a ram even if they heal me… the srrow cart is doing now kittening 1.700 dmg!!!! With 3k armor!!! And a 50 player limit aoe!!!! If arrow carts could move, they would be the ultimate skill to counter blobs.

New patch:

Reinforced gates do not cost money and supplys from workers any more.

It only needs some arrow carts.

Edit: new gates added into the game: metalic gates (old reinforced ones plus arrow carts)
Edit 2: oil removed. Now new oil is arrow cart.

Oh my god this patch, rams has become useless, reinforced gates now cost 3 arrow carts instead of supplys and money (lol), and in 30 secs you can easily take down a paper made gate…

I think wvw is becoming more and more anti-guild and more and more pro-pug.

“Hey a paper made gate!
Wait, it’s not it’s reinfroced, look inside, 3 arrow carts”

I can confirm from testing ingame it works as follows:

Enemy hits gate…waypoint immediately becomes contested unusable.
30 seconds later, white swords appear on keep.

How does this even make sense lol. So you can just watch the WP to see if its contested and then respond.

So building a waypoint shows conested 30 secs earlier? Makes no sense… like the op arrow carts…

Because what i inderstand is that you can suicide and ress al time since wps are not contested anymore.
