I was really sad when i learned that HoT didn’t include any casual/relaxing maps to explore. Exploration when you have to dodge death left and right and to be in constant awareness doesn’t give you much of the option to stop and appreciate the environtment.
And that anet gated lots of exploration elements behind huge xp grind is really frustrates me. Right now i’m done exploring new maps but can’t get map complitions because i lack some of the masteries that i just don’t want to grind doing the same events over and over and over again.

Adventures are the part of the sad trend in which GW2 departs from RPG towards the arcade games.
Starting with Rata Novus story was clearly rushed, pacing was off and i couldn’t belive before the last mission that this is it.
The last chapter was dissapointing – deus ex machina Trahearne and bullet spongy chubby Mordremoth.
I mean its an Elder Dragon of MIND. And we enter his mind where he is the omnipotent power. And he just manifests as a run-of-the-mill mob and starts smacking us in the face – very anticlimactic.
The last chapter inside the dream should’ve been some kind of puzzle with dynamic and random elements so you couldn’t make walktrough.
Anet, please reduce the size of Dragon’s tooth it is too big, make it same size of fireball.
/s
Please make visual clutter reduction a toggleable option.
I’m totally ok if there was an options for a) Fast matchmaking b) Precise matcmaking.
And honestly i’m ok waiting for 5 or more minutes in queue – still better than punching your monitor in frustration.
It will never be anything greater than what we have now. Nobody considers mmorpgs esports. If Anet wanted to establish GW2 as an esport the should’ve done everything they do now back in 2012, now its too late – nobody cares.
My question is when we’ll get matchmaking system in the game? Why as a beginner pvp player i get demolished by premade groups of Legendary Champions over and over and over again? This builds frustration and frankly at this point i don’t have any desire to play pvp.
And of course Dragon Hunters are just plainly insane.
I’ve been farming coral for 6 hours, 2 hours with gathering booster – so far got 3 vials. Pretty much in a row. The drop rate is abysmal compared to other things in the collection. And considering corals are so rare the whole process turned into the torture.
Why would people play dungeon if not for reward or achivement?
Because dungeons are fun? Think about new players, that didnt grind them for 3 years until their fingers started to bleed.
Also a few days ago GW2 got 10k viewers on twitch and usually we only get 3k, so 7 k people just randomly decided they want watch pvp now right?
And ingame ads saying “Go watch pvp on twitch” have nothing to do with that?
I think those numbers can be just PR talk. Usually after initial explosive increase in population, only a small fraction of players that stays after MMOs go F2P. So you measure those numbers not in the first week of F2P, but after 3-6 months have passed.
Nope. I’m probably done with GW2 after i finish HoT story. If i’ll able to tolerate it. GW2 is just not for me anymore – i hate new maps, hate metroidvania-like design, hate difficulty, hate one-shot mechanics, and hate insufferable amount of grind. And after playing new games GW2 looks so dated. Also it’s really a shame that Jeremy Soule didn’t write music for the expansion.
HoT maps are empty – everyone busy complaining on the forums.
I regret that i bought HoT – maps are empty, soloing most events isnt an option, really hate new maps design, nerfing and gating all around, nerfed fractals and butchered dungeons, lots of unfun grind as usual, story is terrible, bad writing, abysmal cut scenes, mediocre soundtrack.
Can confirm – had expirienced same problem a few times.
1. Fire 1 (Flamestrike) – attack animation lacks impact and feels stupid.
2. Fire 2 (Dragon’s Tooth) – very slow skill – speed it up and decrease damage for the balance.
3. Water 3 (Water Trident) – lacks impact, could use effect like Healing Ripple.
4. Air 1 (Arc Lighning) – horrible sound effect. Realistic – maybe. Pleasant to the ears – not really. Animation isnt good either, arc shoots from the hand and not from the scepter.
5. Air 2 (Lightning Strike) and Air 3 (Blinding Flash) – have too similar animation and sound effects.
6. Earth 1 (Stone Shards) – again projectiles shoot from the hand and scepter feels like its there by a mistake.
7. Earth 2-1 (Rock Barrier) – rocks appear behind character and not in front – doesn’t feel like a barrier.
8. Earth 2-2 (Hurl) – lacks impact, animation is poorly done – projectiles and rocks from the barrier feel like separate entities.
The Sylvari have never seen them or their influence since the gods left 225 years before the Sylvari awakened so the Sylvari are right to be critical of the existence of the gods, at least the present-day existence of them
You mean 1302 years.
Loud and annoying sound of rocks grinding on rocks persist throught all of the Mystery Cave instance.
Is there a way to fix this?
Tried speaking to Shaman gamli too and nothing out of the ordinary there when you speak to him. Sent in a support ticket but no reply yet….. Guess its another one of the latest bugs
Yeah its a sad state of affairs. Can’t play my character’s story and no answer to ticket too. Guess Anet is swarmed up in tickets regarding all sorts of bugs since featurepack release. One could ask what was testing and Q&A teams doing during development of the featurepack.
Tailoring supplies vendor don’t have 2nd tab with holding runes anymore.
She’s level 30.
I have the same problem.
My Norn character’s personal story is stuck at “Forging a Legend” -> “A Pup’s Illness” -> “Speak to Shaman Gamli at the Wolf Shrine” step, and wouldn’t advance.
