MMORPGs generally were never big on Twitch, even WoW.
And probably never will be.
People who don’t WvW would suffer over a part of the game they aren’t interested in.
Thats the part of the problem, i think – separation of the game modes. In the minds of the players they are completely different entities.
You need to queue to enter WvW some times. Say your server is doing badly, what happens if a huge group of people who don’t do WvW very often decide to enter the mist and try to fix things. Meanwhile the players that could make a difference are stuck queing to get in. So it would force people who only want to PvE into WvW and put the server on a downward spiral.
Maybe a system that places players in different spots in queue based on wvw rank?
Also the price of something on the Trading Post isn’t decided by Anet, it’s the players buying and selling. For example Radiant Turai Ossa is 37g 98s 97c to buy somebody got it, it’s higher than any placed order but it is the lowest price they are willing to part with it for. Not so long ago it was 60g. It was the player selling it at the time, they chose to sell for that price.
I’m talking about – Listing Fee (5%), Exchange Fee (10%)
1. Canthans
2. Elonians
3. Ancient Orrians (time-traveling yay)
1. WvW should’ve been main endgame and most lucrative way to spend time in game.
2. WvW and PVE should be tightly connected. For example if situation on BLs and EB is bad for your server, you get major debuff in PvE like penalties to gold gain, magic find, higher WP costs, higher TP fees etc.
3. Claiming an objective for a guild should be a HUGE deal for all of its members.
4. Staying inside and defending a claimed objective should give rewards with very high gold/hour rate.
5. Commanders should have ability to initiate “Call of the Mists” (on a huge cooldown and maybe some token requirements) – A message that pops up for all players on the server, that invites them to be teleported to BL or EB, and if player agrees, gives a buff similar to Volunteer’s Blessing.
Multi-loot Tarir meta is destroying the economy. With how GW2 economy is tightly tied to real money things like this should be hotfixed the day they are reported, not left unattended for months.
Firstly all experimental precursors are deliberately designed to be ugly. They are supposed to be failed experiment after all.
Secondly butt capes keep you warm while you running around in Shieverpeaks.
I am wondering when does ANET plan to update charr posture by making them stand more straight?
Simple answer – never.
So in order to get all the mastery points for central tyria you have to grind out the living story for them. This is ridiculous.
Grinding them is your choice, you can always play game as usual and eventually you’ll have all the masteries.
It’s not as bad as when WvW was part of world complete,
I really miss the days when you had to go to WvW for the world competion, made it a kittenallenging, not the snoozefest as it is now.
Is there any advise people can give for dealing with the new maps?
Get yourself a thief with a shortbow and stealth skills.
Use more tanky armor – for example you can buy with karma soldier’s set from the npc at the gates of Arah, they have runes of infiltration, that give you stealth when your HP is down to 20%.
It would’ve been nice if you could unlock additional shared slots doing maybe LS3 stuff.
With this toy and with all the radiant armors, chaos gloves, cosmetic auras and infusions, legendary weapons effects, some characters look like glowing balls. This is getting ridiculous. I’d settle for more armors without the butt cape.
TD is quite cool map, actually takes some thinking and brain power to navigate.
After initial confusion pretty much everyone get used to it.
1. More appropriate price tag.
2. More RPG, good story and sense of adventure.
3. Less action, meta, grind, time gates, mini-games, and other immersion-breaking far-fetched bs.
I want both – old and the new ones
I’m in pretty large guild and the only time people go to the guild hall is to gather daily synthesizers, meet up before guild missions and occasional guild events. 99% time guild hall is empty.
My suggestion is at least have proper banker, trade post and maybe MF in our guild halls. People use HotM to access bank, tp and merchant constantly, why cant we use our guild halls that way?
My other pet peeve is selection of music theme tracks. Selection of 8 tracks? Really? Please let us have every available music track as a theme!

Dont’t like it – just another thing that breaks my immersion.
It is not an exploit – it is using your surroundings for the tactical advantage.
*Something like having a limited daily/weekly/monthly currency which you can’t use yourself, but can “tip” your mentor with.
Giving option to tip or not is a bad idea i think, it leaves an option to be a jerk. As i said Archeage has this type of daily quests, where both earn rewards – and very good ones too.
Archeage has a similar system. There is a daily quests for dungeons: one for the mentor and one for mentee, both earn rewards – everyone happy.
I’ve been playing my revenant a lot more lately. And i found out that the sound effect for impossible odds becomes very annoying after a while. Does anyone else think its a bad sound design?
I dont dislike HoT – I had fair amount of fun. But i cant put my finger on exact reason why i dont go to new maps anymore or do story after completeing it once.
Totally! Fractals are lazy cope out from actual world building.
Getting AC p1 done is getting challenging, as all groups are full of clueless f2p players.
Fractals? You mean a fractal?
Seriusly though – a system where you level up your fractal reward level doing easy swamps isn’t really encourages players getting skilled.
Also amount of fractals should be expanded – by now i’m really bored with them.
At first i was very angry at the huge navigation difficulty spike that new maps have comparing to core areas. But after some time i have no trouble finding my way through even TD. Masteries help a lot.
“Ah you think grind is your ally? You merely adopted the grind. I was born in it, molded by it."
Also removing wvw maps from world completion removed any kind of challenge from it.

Tumblr is leaking again.
Because except a few over the top challenges the scavenger hunt for precursor collections is really fun.
Human female are the strongest in Fashion Wars meta.
OP you made mistake while typing tumblr.com in you address bar.
If 10k is a lot for you just dont bother with skin or title like i do. It’s that simple. There is more fun things to do, than a mindless grind for a virtual prestige.
Anet really should add some mini games to HotM. Free Belcher bluff maybe? Treb shooting range with rewards? And maybe some kind of slot machines as a gold sink.
Same bug. Very annoying.
Trying to land a snowball on a skritt before someone from the huge zerg kicks him – is an excercise in frustration. Clearly badly designed daily.
So tired of "Fast as the Wind" constant spam

In the HotM there is constant:
“Good hunting!”
“Ho, traveler!”
“Up for a challenge?”
“You must visit more often.”
They really should make these voices instanced for each player.
Funny thing is, fixing this is really simple – they need to make the bronze and not the silver a part of the collections.
-A pain in the kitten to navigate.
-Full of powerful and bothersome yet irrelevant mobs
-Required for hero points that are necessary yet a pain in the kitten to get.
I had same reaction at first too. But after some time and especially after unlocking Gliding 5 i started to enjoy VB. Especially flying in the canopy level.
If you find mobs frustrating change you armor for more tanky one Knight’s/Valkyrie/Soldier’s/Commander’s etc.

Locking new skins for elite professions, that they been hyping for half a year, behind silver in these mini-games was really really awful move. I cannot stress enough how i loathe this things, after wasting so much time trying to get silver over and over again and raging in frustration.
Raids are “adventures” on steroids. Same gimmicky mini games with added bullet hell for extra twitch gameplay. They are the result of the no gear progression philosophy. If you dont like arcade games i suggest you to forget that raids exist in GW2.
I really enjoyed raiding in the past in MMORPGs like DDO, LOTRO, Tera. I did a few attempt to beat The Spirit Vale. The experience was too gimmicky and arcady for my taste. Felt like i wasnt playing RPG game but some bullet hell arcade instead. I get that GW2 has almost no gear progression so gameplay designed around “twitch skills”, but for me meta events like Siege of Tarir, Chak Gerent and Dragon Stand feel a lot more like raids should be like.
That 0 in 40 looks shopped to even a naked eye, come on.
HotM needs face lift for sure. Its’ dark and gloomy with grim music. People spend hours there waiting for their match. Make it something like fractals lobby, a bit more cheerful place.
Wow. Just wow. If OP isnt trolling, because of people like him we cant have nice things.
Making it gilded was cheating in the first place – people subconsciously attracted to gold.
Well Reddit is a superior forum system, so i dont blame the devs. Here on forums you need to sift through tons of posts, which can be time consuming.
Constantly doing it in the old maps.
We should petition anet to enable gliders everywhere.
Archeage and Aion have gliding everywhere why can’t GW2?
