For PVE, the Murellow is really awesome. Its F2 is a AOE poison which is really helpful. As part of the bear family its inherently very tanky, and can soak a ton of damage. For my second pet I either use a wolf (knockdowns, fear, chill, etc), a moa (defensive/offensive buffs with their screeches), or a bear if I need another tanky pet.
I ran into the same problem yesterday. Its SO frustrating after spending like 2+ hrs trying to complete the dungeon, only for the Patriarch to bug out. No chest, no cutscene, no reward….
On a side note, we failed like 20 times trying to protect the NPC from Scavengers during the path 1 burrows event. We eventually figured out a way to do it, but its kinda ridiculous because the Scavengers have a knockdown that’s basically a death sentence. It doesnt help that the burrows themselves are buggy. I’m a ranger using shortbow/longbow/axe and I couldn’t even hit some of the burrows. ( permanently says “obstructed” even when I’m right next to/ on top on it )

Once you place the upgrade into the slot it’ll soulbind the item to you. This isn’t a bug, the way you should have done it is by mailing him the daggers and sigils separately, so he can upgrade them himself. As you insert the sigils there will be a popup to warn that that inserting the upgrades WILL soulbind the items to you.
As for the prompt ( asking if you want to soulbind them when you equip) its a redundant message, as the item was already soulbound to you when you inserted the sigils.

Given how useless a Pet is in WvW, I would like that we get something like 20% damage buff when Pet is stowed. And obviously as the topic is about, when stowed, stay stowed.
A 20% damage buff is a very BAD idea. The ranger was made and intended as a pet class, players shouldn’t be awarded if you choose NOT to use a class mechanic. Then whats the point? you might as well play a WARRIOR. It’ll be the devs shooting themselves in the foot. But I do agree that there should be a better way of stowing. Maybe like…when your HP drops below 80% the pet comes out? or have a non-combat mode with perma-stowing.
