Disease should be tied to treb attacks to demote zerging xD It should also be a bit more potent like every time u go close to a player with disease you get an extra stack that stacks with intensity. Also maybe put an incubation buff on you if you dont have disease on and you get hit with it which gives you a short period to get away from people.

Me an a few guy were have a conversation about legendaries few days ago when this came up. How about unique finishers tied to Legendary weapons! For example if you finish someone while wielding Juggernaut maybe u do like a charged attack and it turns the corpse into a silver statue corpse (kinda like the armor effect you get while wielding it), or u burn the enemies when you kill em with the Incinerator. Also if ur duel wielding legendaries it should be 50% chance to activate either mainhand or offhand.

Hey guys, this is a condi build I’ve been running around in wvw for a while. Its got some decent survivability and condi burst. Thought I’ll share it for people who wanna try something different from PI ^^. I’m not sure if a similar build has been posted here since I don’t check forums very often.

You mentioned zerg build hence why I recommended glamours, you can always switch your utilities when ur not zerging.

I personally wouldn’t use celestial on a mesmer but that’s just me. As for the weapons I find scepter to be only really useful in small fights. Torch is also meh unless ur running a condi burst build. I’d also replace mimic with feedback or nullfield. When ur defending something and a zerg tries to push through you can drop a nullfield to strip their stability in choke points xD. Feedback is also nice with condi build because reflected projectiles can put confusion on them.

Blurred Inscriptions: Signet builds are not viable and too costly (Master trait) to be used for 1 or 2 signets.
Cleansing Inscriptions: same as above
Retaliatory Demise: makes no sense
Masterful Reflections: Synergy with signets but not enough to waste for reasons above.

I actually like the current incarnation of Mimic. I don’t see why it needs a change. It fills the role of a selfish reflect and block and works extremely well in builds that like retaliation up.
I have to agree to a certain degree. Mimic has saved my kitten countless times in the past couple of days. It’s like wielding a shield with reflect trait and I’m absolutely loving it. The only bad part is that you have no control over what gets absorbed when ur running away from a zerg. Only time u get to make an informed decision about what to absorb is when you see a skill with a long cast like Kill Shot, but right now I feel like the “absorb” is kinda a bonus while the real reason I use it is for the block. I guess the lesson here is that you don’t miss something till its gone, or in this case about to be gone xD

Moving the trait down 10points and making it possible to work with illusionary persona would give SO much more type of shatter builds in Raid WvW. Imo really something anet should be thinking about.

I see skill stealing been brought up alot but it simply does not work in gw2 like it did in gw1. For 1 it will be very OP to steal a utility skill from another class; this is why steal ability on thief has a set of pre programmed skills. Secondly it should work well in PvP as well as PvE. While stealing skills is possible in PvP, it will be impossible in PvE because all skills that mobs use are like “Monster Kills” in GW1. A new iteration should also follow the “Manipulation” theme.

Actually ever since this was brought up I’ve been using Mimic in wvw for fun. I completely forgot this skill even existed because I’ve only used it back in beta to see what it does and lost interest. I’ve been stealing Throw Bolus from Sentry Guards and some projectiles from Living Story mobs in mercenary camps. It’s very situational but quite fun ^^

Actually I got an ascended ring with a 1 time changeable stats. It let me use 2 offensive rings of the same type so I’m guessing there might be a defensive alternative.

Timewarp does not seem to prioritize player/party before allies. Sometimes I drop a timewarp on top of me while fighting a boss and I don’t get the effect. Would be nice to get it fixed. ^^

need to be more aggressive in a 1 v 1 as a guard. As soon as u start running they will get on top of you. Hammer & GS are a great set for duels

Yes please! This is quite an annoyance specially in fractals Maw level; sometimes maw keeps targeting pets/illusions and takes ages to kill. Atleast with Illusions the mesmers have the option to not use them.

Not sure if this has been brought to attention before but I’ll post it anyways. When u use Dragon Claw on an asura they turn around to fire the skill, however if you strafe left and right while doing it they cant turn. Result is their head turning 360 while the body face forward which looks really odd. Should be an easy fix.

interrupting and confusion is counter productive. You interrupt someone and stop them using skills for a short time for which time confusion is useless. The short duration of confusion doesn’t help this either. Also is the 10 sec of confusion on interrupt include the 30% increase from the rune or is it actually 13 sec? Can it be increased to 17.3-20 sec with traits and food?

Summon a Phantasm that does x% more damage for every boon on target. Inflicts confusion if target has no boons. This way the torch becomes a viable weapon for both power and condition builds.

Mesmers are still strong actually. But I don’t wanna grind another set of ascended gear each time they decide to nerf the living kitten out of builds only to make a couple of builds viable, there by forcing me into a playstyle I don’t necessarily enjoy playing.

I run a couple of mantras with Restorative Mantras when I solo roam in wvw. I play a phantasm build so I can afford to cast mantras in the middle of the battle if I have 2 or more phantasms out. Thats the only trait I use for mantra.

You could come up with great changes for any class but the fact is it doesn’t matter. If gw1 taught me anything its that anet is very bad at skill balancing;
Second Wind was useless for over 7 years, they were too lazy to come up with a change to Smite’s Boon (PvP) so they made it ridiculously long recharge and short as duration with a note saying “we know ppl wont use this in pvp now, in the future we might think about changing it” and been like that since 2008. Then they gave us some ridiculously overpower elites like Panic so ppl could farm up their titles to get rdy for gw2 essentially. Paragons were nerfed to dust in PvP that ppl rage quited Random Arena teams if they saw a paragon in their party and the only thing that made they viable was a skill that wasn’t even their profession’s to begin with..
They say they don’t want ppl to play dedicated healers and give guardians +250 healing power on mace, now ppl get healed for almost 1k/sec by standing next to me and me tapping 2 every now and then..gg. Dont even need to dodge to tank bosses since protection + all that healing is enough. Thnx for bringing 55 monks to gw2 I guess ^^.
Anyways, I get what they are trying to do with mesmers and interrupts but it just doesn’t work. Most of the rupt skills take too long to activate or takes a while to get to the target so the only time u get an interrupt is 1. Shear luck, 2. NPC behavior i.e heal at <20% ish 3. Long as cast like barrage 4. Illusionary Persona. Interrupts wont work like gw1 no matter how hard they try to bring back the gw1 mesmer feel to the game. To be perfectly honest, IC really did need a nerf but the way they are trying to balance is totally wrong.

I’m guessing u’r talking about Perfect World. Some classes in that game were able to maintain a form of quickness which can kill someone in seconds. I like how theres high risk for using readily available quickness in this game and its very short duration.
